Titres interprétés au grand studio- Nahel Live RFI- Bang Rails, extrait de l'album- Nbendia Live RFI.Line Up : Mamani Keita : chant, Mike Ladd : chant, Florent Berteau : batterie, Samuel Hirsch : basse, Fabien Girard : guitare électrique, Michael Havard : sax baryton, Aristide Gonçalves : trompette + claviers.

In the second episode of Season 2, I'm delighted that we have Dave Randall with us as our special guest where we're talking about the mindset aspects of curiosity, identity, collaboration, the power of our instinct. For me, my chat with Dave highlights why living our life that aligns with what we value most is one of the most important paths we can take. Dave is a guitarist, producer, composer, author and social activist. Musically, he has worked with artists like Faithless, Sinead O'Connor, Dido, Emilíana Torrini, and Roland Gift and contributed to the 1 Giant Leap Project, featuring musicians from all around the world including Neneh Cherry and Michael Stipe. His current collective is called Slovo with singer Barbarella and their latest album is called Bread & Butterflies. It expands previous collaborations with hip hop innovator Mike Ladd. And Barbarella is a truly remarkable vocalist, switching between loose Gwen Stefani like vocals and on Call Me, powerful, soaring opera. You can't put a genre on it and that's a good thing to my mind. We've been taught to compartmentalise too many things for too long.Dave is also the author of the excellent “Sound System: The Political Power of Music” – a fascinating read on the power of music for both protesters and agitators and for the ruling corporate and governmental classes. The paradox of protest and pacification.I Wanna Jump Like Dee Dee is a music podcast that does music interviews differently. I'm Giles Sibbald and I'm talking to extraordinary musicians, DJ's and producers about how they use an experimental mindset in their lives to amplify their own creativity, pursue new challenges, overcome fears and bounce back from mistakes.- brought to you by Hey Sunday, the mothership of the experimental mindset™.Podcast logo and art by Tide Adesanya, Coppie and Paste

This week, we’re bringing you the second part in a two-part series about the newly published book, Loving Country, by Bruce Pascoe and Vicky Shukuroglou.Bruce and Vicky recently recorded this interview with Adelaide-based poet and broadcaster, Mike Ladd, for local bookshop Matilda Books. Thanks to them and to Hardie Grant Publishing for allowing us to play this insightful interview. If you missed Part 1, you might enjoy listening to that before this one. You can find it either on our website at nativetitlesa.org or by searching Aboriginal Way on Apple iTunes or iHeart radio.
Over the next two weeks, we’ll be bringing you another two-part series. This short series is a conversation between authors Bruce Pascoe and Vicky Shukuroglou about their new book, Loving Country, that was recently broadcast by a local bookshop over Zoom. Thanks to the book’s publisher, Hardie Grant Publishing for allowing us to broadcast this interview.Bruce Pascoe is an Aboriginal writer best known for his work Dark Emu, which re-examines colonial accounts of Aboriginal people in Australia and cites evidence of pre-colonial agriculture, engineering and building construction by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.Vicky is a multi-disciplinary artist and gardener.Born out of a joint ethos for caring for country and culture, Loving Country is a type of in-depth guidebook that examines the direct link between the two. Not to be mistaken for a ‘travel book’ designed to entertain, Loving Country is a blend of history, poetry, environmental writing and information about Indigenous farming. It was created in consultation with communities and Elders across the country and details 18 places in particular.Bruce is speaking from Malacoota and Vicky from the top of her car, somewhere between Port Augusta and Renmark! The conversation was hosted by Adelaide poet and broadcaster Mike Ladd.Enjoy.

For the 2.4 million veterans who’ve served in Iraq and Afghanistan, the experience of war isn’t necessarily ended by coming home. Memories -particularly traumatic ones - stay with them for life, often manifesting themselves in dreams. The retelling of those dreams is at the heart of Holding It Down: The Veterans’ Dreams Project, a 2012 collaboration between pianist and composer Vijay Iyer and poet Mike Ladd. Together with Iraq War veteran, poet, and vocalist Maurice Decaul, they discuss the impact of modern-day warfare on the psyche and the decision to focus on veterans of color for this project. Plus, Ladd, Iyer, Decaul, along with percussionist Kassa Overall, bassist Guillermo Brown, cellist Okkyung Lee, and guitarist Liberty Ellman, play selections from the work, in-studio. Set List: "Derelict Poetry," by Maurice Decaul and Vijay Iyer "My Fire" by Mike Ladd and Vijay Iyer "Shush" by Maurice Decaul and Vijay Iyer
