Welcome to National Treasure News! In this installment, Aubrey Paris sits down with her co-host Emily Black to discuss the inspiration behind her new edutainment history book, "Riley Poole's Book of Secrets: History for National Treasure Hunters." While Riley's fictional National Treasure 2-featured text "The Templar Treasure and Other Myths That Are True" does not exist in real life, Aubrey aims to scratch the itch for any National Treasure fan who has ever wondered what historical topics could possibly pique the interests of individuals who, like Riley, are uninterested in history as it's traditionally taught. National Treasure (55:32) HEERE AT THE PODCAST. 171 episodes of podcasting, and I'm three movies away. Of all the words written here about monkeys, there's a line here that's at the heart of all the others. "But when a long train of seamless edits and gimmicks, pursuing invariably the same Review evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Apeism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such distinction, and provide new Monkeys for their future security."People don't podcast that way anymore.
NasCardRadio episode 269 races through Daytona recaps, rookie buzz, and serious cardboard, as Val and Logan connect on-track action to key NASCAR trading cards. They highlight Chandler Smith, Butterbean Brenden Queen, Tyler Reddick, and Connor Zilisch while mapping out their rookies, autos, and parallels in Panini lines like Donruss, Chronicles, Select, Prizm, Turn Four, and National Treasures. The hobby talk heats up with a look at Dick's Panini NASCAR deals, retail-only chase inserts, and Pristine's $5,000 bounty finally being hit on Whatnot, plus a fun story about Cole Swindell wearing a Zilisch Kavroom card and chain from NASCARD.shop. King's Court features multiple 1/1s, a suspect dual Earnhardt/Petty Tracks auto in an SGC8 holder, a big Kyle Larson Downtown sale out of Canada, a strong Jeff Gordon fire suit 1/1, and a grail-level Dale Earnhardt Max Medallion package with letter and matching cert. They wrap with the Spellbound Word of the Week—“Spoiler”—new graphics, hashtag riffs, and a candid take on redemptions, giving collectors both entertainment and practical insight into the current NASCAR card market.

This week, I discuss the most well-known and reviled femme fatale in film history: Phyllis Dietrichson, played by one of the most respected and beloved actresses in American film: Barbara Stanwyck. This episode was originally aired as part of my American Trash and National Treasures series. The video version is in reverence to the Double Indemnity house and in celebration of my upcoming move near it. The 1944 film noir Double Indemnity is one of the shiniest, most monied film noirs produced in its time. The film is based on James M. Cain's book of the same name. The story itself is inspired by a true crime that is so American it smells like apple pie and fresh blood. This and every episode of Window Dressing is written, performed, researched, costumed, styled, and filmed by Madelaine Jane Auble

What does 2017's KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE (aka Kingsman 2) have to do with New Year's Eve, the holiday season, or even anything in the month of December? NOTHING! But our original choice wasn't streaming on any services this month, so we decided to finally circle around back to one of our fav fake presidential actors, the legendary Bruce Greenwood, last seen (by us) as the potus in NATIONAL TREASURE: BOOK OF SECRETS (aka National Treasure 2). This time out Bruce is the unnamed "President of the United States" in an R-rated, edgy, action comedy from a true British Knight, director and co-writer Matthew Vaughn, surrounded by a impressive cast including Colin Firth, Mark Strong, Halle Berry, Julianne Moore, Channing Tatum, Pedro Pascal, Emily Mortimer, and introducing the one and only Sir Elton John, in maybe his most outlandish performance ever in front of a camera. Find us on most social media sites @Fake_President (Instagram, Bluesky, Threads) or email us at fakepresidents [at] gmail.com to join the convo and suggest our next subject!
A "national treasure" is an artifact with significant cultural history associated with a particular country. The Norwegian primstav certainly qualifies. It's a kind of perpetual calendar or almanac stick originating around 1100 was used to track important agricultural and religious dates through symbols used in particular communities. Then there's the Golden Horns of Gallehus, exquisite artifacts discovered in 1649 and 1734 in Southern Denmark. They show the first use of runic Germanic writing (Proto Norse) in the form of a full sentence. Their display in Danish museums was interrupted by a horrible event. Join me as we learn about these two national treasures and hear a Nordic song from 1300 written in runes with notes. These are two famous cultural icons that you've probably never heard of. We also play the oldest song written in Proto-Norse runes entitled, "Drømde mik en drøm i nat" by Ensemble Mare Balticum. Visit our episode page at National Treasures : The Primstav and the Horns of Gallehus for pictures, links, and notes.
The Rise to Power (Revised Edition) (The Legacy Series, 1) by David Francis Cook https://www.amazon.com/stores/David-Francis-Cook/author/B0C7XFH46F Get ready for the heart-pounding thrills of The Legacy Series – a captivating adventure that combines the best of The Da Vinci Code and National Treasure. Follow James Bannerman throughout history as he seeks to answer those driving questions: “Why are we here?” and “What is our purpose?” If a family can respect its heritage and forefathers, any member can rise to greatness. But the evils of human nature and temptations of life must first be overcome. In The Rise to Power, the first book in The Legacy Series, Cartius, who lives in the previous age of Atlantis, faces a dire choice. He can go with his father to a different star system and continue his way of life at an even higher level of dimension—or he can choose to die, reincarnate, and save his planet. James Bannerman, Tenth Earl of Penbroke, England, is Cartius. Before his death, Cartius makes the fateful decision to remain on Earth. He also leaves his teleportation chair to a faithful servant, and the chair makes its way, under lock and key, to its place as a regal throne in the East Wing of Bannerman's estate. The decisions Bannerman must face—in a world intertwined with marriage, love affairs, human intrigue, and deception—will define his future. And that of many. A family can become a small nation, then a large nation, and then a great nation with a great legacy. But first it must uncover its true spiritual knowledge. James Bannerman will find the key to that lies in the throne. Along with determining their legacy, Bannerman and his family—whose roots go back to 1704—will also unlock the question man has wrestled with since his earliest beginnings: Why are we here?

Korzo and Lindsey then talk about cohabitation and the division of household duties. We wrap the second hour with some Gopher Football at the Rate Bowl talk.

Beloved Australian songwriter Paul Kelly has just turned 70 – “it sounds Biblical, threescore years and ten.” He looks back here at the road he took to get there, from early days in Adelaide to the pub circuit to his catalogueof stirring and eloquent songs about the big issues of life and love, as Neil Finn says, “with not a trace of pretence or fakery”. You'll find … … the moment he felt he'd arrived … the story of How To Make Gravy – “a Christmas song with no chorus about a man in prison” – and Rita Wrote A Letter, its ghostly sequel … early records he loved – Tommy Roe, Peter Paul & Mary, Yes, Deep Purple, Frank Zappa, the “chaotic” Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong … life on the Melbourne pub circuit playing Neil Young, Gram Parsons and Hank Williams … touring with Leonard Cohen – “a masterclass in performance, like a prayer, a ritual, like a Vaudevillian Rabbi” .. the storytelling songs of the Stanley Brothers, the Louvin Brothers and Buck Owens ... the great Calypso cricket tradition and the track he wrote about Shane Warne … “the odd-sock drawer”: the file in his computer where he stores early sketches … I'm In Love With A Blue Frog, the five chords that underpinned 50 years of songwriting! … the intricacy of Neil Finn's impressionistic lyrics … and the things you hear in your songs when someone else sings them. Diane Kruger is a German actress known for her verticality in roles and languages, from Hollywood blockbusters like "Troy" and "National Treasure," to Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds" and international gems like "In the Fade," for which she won Best Actress at Cannes. Currently she stars in two television series, "The Seduction," a French-language period drama for HBO MAX, in which she plays Madame de Rosemonde, and "Little Disasters," a psychological thriller for Paramount+ where she plays a complex, fiercely devoted new mother whose world collapses around her. On this episode, she gives us a peek inside her acting process and the ingredients in the "sauce" that help her do her work, like why she's not fond of rehearsal, the importance of trust and collaboration, how a detailed backstory helps her, why she wouldn't want to play the same character for dozens of episodes, and much more. Back To One is the in-depth, no-nonsense, actors-on-acting podcast from Filmmaker Magazine. In each episode, host Peter Rinaldi invites one working actor to do a deep dive into their unique process, psychology, and approach to the craft. Follow Back To One on Instagram

December 2, 2025 - The Smithsonian's National Museum of Asian Art presents Korean Treasures: Collected, Cherished, Shared, the first U.S. exhibition of significant works from the renowned Lee Kun-Hee Collection. On view through February 1, 2026, Korean Treasures features over 200 works, including a dozen National Treasures designated by the Korean government. The largest and most comprehensive presentation of Korean art ever mounted at the National Museum of Asian Art, the exhibition spans 1,500 years—from ancient Buddhist sculptures and ceramics to paintings, furnishings and modern masterpieces of the 20th century. Donated to the Republic of Korea in 2021 by the family of the late Samsung Chairman Lee Kun-Hee, the collection reflects more than 70 years of generational collecting and comprises more than 23,000 works, a testament to a decades-long commitment to preserving and sharing Korea's artistic legacy and cultural heritage. Korean Treasures presents a remarkable selection from the collection to American audiences for the first time, alongside additional loans from the Leeum Museum of Art in Seoul, Korea, shown exclusively in Washington, D.C. In a conversation with The Korea Society, three curators from the National Museum of Asian Art–Carol Huh, J. Keith Wilson, and Sunwoo Hwang–explore the depth and diversity of Korean art and reflect on the practice of collecting in Korea.
