POPULARITY
In this episode, I am joined by actor Bryan McClure, who mostly recently appears as a documentary filmmaker opposite Oscar winners Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates in the newest HBO original movie "The Great Lillian Hall." McClure has also appeared in a number of films and TV shows, including as the Headless Night in the Disney mystery adventure fil Haunted Mansion, as well as The Walking Dead, Atlanta, The Summer I Turned Pretty, and Mindhunter. In his latest film, loosely based on a true story, Bryan's character is documenting the production of a play in which the lead actress, a renowned Broadway star, suffers from memory loss and struggles with an increasingly noticeable illness. Bryan explains what it is like making a movie within a movie and shares his experience working alongside the stars of the film. Of course I ask about his intense scene in The Walking Dead where he stabs himself in the throat with a giant screwdriver while facing off with some of the show's most iconic characters. Bryan also talks to me about his upcoming comedy short which he wrote and produced, Roast Pork Butt, based on the worst date he ever had.

Separate takes up more space but offers a more familiar-looking appearance with the address bar displayed above your open tabs. Compact takes up less space by having your currently viewed tab act as an address bar, and also matches the Tab Bar's color to the site you are viewing. Make the change in Settings - Safari. I've been preferring the Compact layout, but it still seems like I'm having to get used to it. Jeff's iTip: AirTag replacement batteries: avoid bitterant coatings. The battery in an AirTag should last about a year. When you are alerted that it is time to replace the battery, you use a standard CR2032 battery. Because this battery is so small, a child might think that it is something to put in their mouth and swallow, so some battery manufacturers now add a non-toxic bitter coating to the battery to deter a child from swallowing the battery once it is placed in the child's mouth. Unfortunately, CR2032 batteries with this bitterant coating might not work with the AirTag, as Apple warns in this support article: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211670And I can confirm, based on my recent trip to Italy, that batteries with this bitterant coating are problematic in an AirTag! Keep your ears front, this podcast will never be enter picture-in-picture mode! It’s been a full week of wrestling and Hal, Danielle and Lindsey are ready to break it down. Seth Rollins is getting a lot of attention for his new character direction in his feud with Kevin Owens. And on the surface, it’s really smart of WWE to play into the crowd sentiment towards Rollins and turn him as an overeager leader of RAW. But we’ll talk about whether or not this is actually solving the problem with Seth from the past year. And what a week it’s been for promos! We give praise to Jungle Boy, Cody Rhodes, Finn Balor, Keith Lee and Chris Jericho for their work on the mic this week. We’ll geek out over their creative fulfillment and speculate about where they could go from here. Plus, some discussion about the AEW production direction, what the future holds for the Undisputed Era and finally settle which wrestlers actually have too many cats. Hosted by Hal Lublin, Danielle Radford and Lindsey Kelk. Produced by Julian Burrell for Maximum Fun. If you want to talk about more wrestling throughout the week be sure to join us on Facebook and @TightsFights on Twitter and Instagram. If you liked the show, please share it with your friends and be sure to leave us a quick review on Apple Podcasts or wherever you get podcasts.
On the June 21, 2019 episode of /Film Daily, /Film editor-in-chief Peter Sciretta is joined by /Film senior writer Ben Pearson and writer Hoai-Tran Bui to discuss the latest film and tv news, including Star Wars, Red Sonja, Easy A, Picture In Picture, Black Widow and Vertigo. We also continue our discussion about good movie prequels. Opening Banter: Feedback: In a previous episode Peter asked if there has ever been a really good prequel movie: Wyatt C writes in “ I'm surprised this didn't come up at all during the discussions of great prequel movies because this is not only a good prequel movie but a good prequel trilogy. It is the Planet of the Apes trilogy kicked off by Rupert Wyatt's Rise and concluded with Matt Reeves Dawn and War.” Bill G writes in “Rogue One is a Good prequel. It's a solid standalone movie. and that's also what makes it a great prequel. It has its own story, but actually enhances the viewing of A New Hope. That's what makes it good. It doesn't try to explain every tiny little thing about a character we were previously introduced to (eg Solo) or explanations of a monster that doesn't need a complex origin story (eg Alien: Covenant). Neither of which needed to be explained. The movie takes a small, important, interesting detail and builds its own narrative around it with some notable, well-known characters playing their bit parts that advance the narrative without overdoing it. Best, Bill” Iain from Washington DC writes in “Hi /Film Daily crew, I've been listening to the show most days for at least the past year. I had a few ideas I think you should consider in your quest for a “good” prequel movie: -Star Trek (2009) (OK, so maybe it's not *technically* a prequel, but it's basically a prequel and it's been held up as a model for what a good prequel looks like) -Casino Royale (2006) (again, this might not count, but the plot centers on Bond's first mission as a 00-agent) -Rise/Dawn/War of the Planet of the Apes -X-Men: First Class (you might have mentioned this one on the show already) That's all I can think of for now! Keep up the great work, and thanks for giving us a great daily show (amazingly, with no ads!)” In The News: Breaking News: ‘Transparent' Creator Jill Soloway To Write & Direct ‘Red Sonja' Ben: ‘Easy A' Spin-Off Movie in Development, Original Film's Writer to Write and Direct HT (og Brad): Apple TV Adding Picture-in-Picture Functionality This Fall, Netflix Testing Same Feature on Desktop Ben (og Chris): Kevin Feige Compares ‘Black Widow' Movie to ‘Better Call Saul' HT: DC Comics Kills Vertigo, the Imprint Behind ‘Sandman,' Swamp Thing,' ‘Y The Last Man,' ‘Preacher' and More Ben: Mark Hamill Hopes He's Done With ‘Star Wars' After ‘The Rise of Skywalker', Confirms He's Returning as Force Ghost Other Articles Mentioned: All the other stuff you need to know: You can find more about all the stories we mentioned on today's show at slashfilm.com, and linked inside the show notes. /Film Daily is published every weekday, bringing you the most exciting news from the world of movies and television as well as deeper dives into the great features from slashfilm.com.
