Right-to-work laws, which make unionizing more difficult in 28 states, could more accurately be referred to as right-to-work… for less. Why? On average, worker pay drops 3.1% when right-to-work laws are passed. Shane Larson from CWA, the largest communications and media labor union in the U.S., joins Goldy to explain why right-to-work laws are so harmful, how they came to be, and why it's so important to pass the PRO Act to fight for workers' rights. On today's episode I bring in a friend of the show, Shane Larson, to discuss a little BYU/ASU preview. We go through that for about the first 30 min. Shane gives a great breakdown of why he hates Utah Ute fans (not all, but some) and goes through why ASU/BYU will be a great game. So, if you're looking for my mom's (Lili Anderson) unique and very interesting idea on why men hold the priesthood and the idea of harnessed testosterone, that will come after. From a young age, Boone was an incredible athlete! Anything he did for sports, came naturally for him. He grew up being elite at whatever sport he played and he thoroughly enjoyed it! From Youth Baseball to Optimist Football, to Rodeo later on in his teens, he just loved to compete at a high level. After having given football a break while he focused on other sports, in 2013, Boone made a football comeback while he was attending Kuna High School. After a promising season, the team reached the State Playoffs. In their State Playoff Game, while blocking as a wide receiver, Boone took a fall and collided with a teammate's knee, breaking his neck and leaving him paralyzed. A devastating injury on what some would call a "freak accident." Today, Boone talks about the experience and he talks about how he continues to overcome the obstacles that have come his way since then. It's a true story of inspiration, and motivation. This interview will give you perspective on life. Through Boone's words, you'll find yourself becoming more and more motivated to give it everything you've got because you truly never know when you may not have that chance again. Listen in and enjoy learning from a man who has overcome many obstacles in life and who truly shows us what it is like to take advantage of EVERY opportunity that presents itself! I'll explain to you in the episode why I'm going solo this time around. Make sure to check out my discussion with Kyle Aslami right here:
I've had many people ask me about my story and how I got into podcasting. This interview is an amazing opportunity for me to share my story. I chose to have my good friend, C.C. Hawkley join me and perform a reverse interview. Why C.C.? Well it's because he's been a major reason the branding of The Gametime Guru has grown to where it is. From day one, C.C. has been supportive of the show and has helped in many ways, including joining me for multiple interviews and also acting as a contributing writer for the website. Enjoy our discussion today as you learn about myself and my journey through the questions of C.C.
