David Alcott of Samurai Success shares his transformative approach to wealth creation through authentic self-knowledge and intentional reprogramming of the subconscious mind.• The wealthy and successful know exactly who they are and refuse to be talked out of it• True wealth creation begins with a "be-do-have" strategy rather than the common "do-have-be" approach• Money is simply energy—focus on mastery and the money naturally follows• 95% of our actions come from subconscious programming that can be intentionally redesigned• Most successful investors focus on their unique abilities rather than chasing money directly• Saying "no" becomes essential when you clearly know who you are and where you're going• Your destiny isn't predetermined—you can recreate yourself anew at any age• Writing down who you want to be in different life areas helps reprogram your subconscious• Congruency between beliefs and actions creates the authentic energy others respond toDavid OlcottCEO of Samurai Success, Inc.1090 S. In this episode, host Janet Michael joins up with Joanne Royaltey from the Frederick County Extension Office and kate Reed, a NSV Master Gardener to discuss the benefits of fall gardening. Joanne highlights that fall is often overlooked as a gardening season despite its advantages such as cooler weather and softer grounds, which help plants establish stronger roots. Kate adds that not clearing out the garden too much can benefit local wildlife. Janet and Kate share their experiences with plants that have overgrown and need relocating. They mention the importance of knowing your horticultural zone for pruning and other gardening activities. They give practical advice on how to handle invasive plants like English ivy and how to move overgrown plants properly. The conversation shifts to discussing the services offered by Master Gardeners, emphasizing that these services are available year-round. Kate stresses the importance of effective pruning and understanding plant requirements, adding tips on pruning different types of plants according to their specific needs and the season. They also touch on the importance of contacting local Master Gardener help desks for advice and the appeal of joining gardening groups for mutual learning. Joanne stresses that gardening help is free and encourages people to utilize these resources. Towards the end, they talk about the benefits of planting trees and the upcoming Winchester Tree Festival, where attendees can learn more about native plants and trees. Joanne also mentions upcoming Extension Master Gardener classes and info sessions, encouraging listeners to participate and learn more about gardening. If you have any type of gardening question, volunteers at the Extension “Ask a Master Gardener” Help Desks will research your problem and provide unbiased, research-based solutions. They can answer questions about trees, shrubs, house plants, perennials, annuals, and more! E-mail a description and photos of your gardening problems to your county, or stop by during office hours in Frederick, Shenandoah, and Warren Counties. Is your SOUL Singing? What are you doing these days that's getting your spirit flowing, your energy going, and your mind right? For me, I recently took a 9-day trip to upstate New York and Miami, FL, for 2-separate events. And boy, were there some POWERFUL lessons and principles from this trip that got my SOUL-SINGING! Here is what I talk about on today's IMPACT SHOW podcast: The POWER of Community and why it's so important. Specifically, I went to 5-different gyms on my trip and ALL of them had incredible “communities.” The POWER of Laughter. I'll just say I haven't laughed as hard in 2-hours as this one-night in upstate NY. Hear why on the Show… #LaughterIsMedicine The POWER of the Elements. Snow. Sun. Heat. Cold. All of it was invigorating for the soul. Hear why on the Show… The POWER of a Retreat. This 2-day “Redeemed Men's Retreat” in Miami was powerful. Like “life-transformative” powerful for many of the men in attendance. The POWER of Redemption. “You don't have to carry all the weight” was a powerful statement that we built around. Too many people are walking around carrying the burden, stress, heaviness of the “past.” I go deep on this in the SHOW and share Romans 12:2, which was a core verse to the Redeemed Retreat. Thank you Justin Roethlingshoefer for hosting a great “REDEEMED” Retreat. The POWER of Home. There is no place like home. Can I get an “AMEN” to that? As much as I do love travel and the road, there is NOTHING like home! My top lessons from Pastor Rich Wilkerson, Jr and why I loved his sermon and church experience so much in Miami, FL. Five (5) deep questions I pose to you to further light up your SOUL and get you turned-up on ALL levels! #SoulSinging Enjoy today's SHOW. Please share it on your social media and forward it on to your friends/family to help spread the IMPACT. This one is special. Not just because it's on the ever-popular topic of nutrition, but it's with my niece Brooke Scheller. And little did I know that when I brought Brooke out to San Diego for a “21-Day Transformation Program” (when she was just 18-years old) to help her “find her way,” that it would eventually lead her to get a doctorate in nutrition. And now, she just launched her first book, HOW TO EAT TO CHANGE HOW YOU DRINK. Yes, as a recovering alcoholic, Brooke has turned her “Demons into Dreams” and she's now positively IMPACTING thousands of people on both social media, her new book, and now the TD IMPACT SHOW. You gotta listen to this one… On today's IMPACT SHOW, we discuss: Brooke's back story and growing-up in Brick, NJ. The IMPACT of the “21-Day Transformation Program” after Brooke graduated high-school and how that program eventually led her to FAX in her college application. ☺ Brooke shares her career as a nutritionist and how she balanced a career and life of someone in wellness, while still battling with alcohol. Why has she felt inspired to speak openly about sobriety (rather than remaining “anonymous”)? Why did she write this book? In the book, one of her dedications in the book was to her younger self. Why? Brooke's 2-3 of her favorite parts of the book and Todd shares his favorite parts. Brooke shares and explains her “archetypes” of drinking. Brooke shares what she hopes this book will bring to the world? What's next for Brooke Scheller? I am so proud of Brooke and loved recording this episode literally from Times Square NYC. I think you are going to love this SHOW also. Please be sure to listen, post a pic on your social media, and then pass on the episode to your community. Please tag us both at: IG: @ToddDurkin @DrBrookeScheller You can follow Dr. Brooke Scheller on IG or on her website at www.FunctionalSobriety.com. ABOUT Dr. Brooke Scheller (Guest): Dr. Brooke Scheller is a Doctor of Clinical Nutrition, the founder of Functional Sobriety, and the author of How to Eat to Change How You Drink: Heal Your Gut, Mend Your Mind, and Improve Nutrition to Change Your Relationship with Alcohol After finding freedom from alcohol in 2021, Dr. Brooke was inspired to share her experience in sobriety and applied her expertise in nutrition and functional medicine to help others change their relationship with alcohol and heal their body from long-term alcohol use. Her approach results in improved brain health, mood, energy, focus, gut health, and hormone balance. In 2022, Dr. Brooke launched Functional Sobriety, a nutrition-based program for an alcohol-free lifestyle, which has expanded to serve members across the globe. Functional Sobriety provides a wellness-based community, education on healing from alcohol-use with nutrition and functional medicine practices, and offers the first-ever custom supplements for the sober and sober-curious. As a motivational speaker, Dr. Brooke helps to spread the word about functional nutrition, alcohol-free wellness, and the power of sobriety. They can answer questions about trees, shrubs, house plants, perennials, annuals, and more! You can simply e-mail a description (ideally with photos) of your gardening problems to the GreenHelpLine in your county, or stop by during office hours (see below) in Frederick, Shenandoah, and Warren Counties. Set Aside Convictions — Move On In Your Life: In April 2021, Michigan enacted the Clean Slate Law to help those with criminal records seek expungement through the legal system. The law will help people find better jobs, qualify for housing and higher education loans, and give peace of mind that past mistakes are no longer a hinderance. Courts set aside your conviction(s) if you meet specific criteria.CRITERIA YOU MUST MEET• Your crime(s) must be ones that can be expunged, or set aside.• For example, most criminal sexual conduct convictions, some child abuse crimes, felony domestic violence if you have a previous misdemeanor domestic violence conviction, terrorism or human trafficking cannot be expunged.• Convictions for which the maximum punishment is life in prison cannot be set aside.• You may have too many convictions. If you have more than three felony offenses in Michigan you might not be able to expunge any convictions.• There are waiting periods. The waiting periods range from none at all for misdemeanor marijuana related crimes to seven years for more than one felony conviction.AT THE EXPUNGEMENT FAIR attorneys will be available to meet with you, iChats will be provided and finger-printing will be doneCOSTS• Free legal representation may be available to you if you live in one of the following 10 counties and meet in-come eligibility requirements:• Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Emmet, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaukee, and Wexford counties. (assistance may be available for people who have convictions in other counties throughout the state).• $50/court fingerprinting fee (this goes to Michigan State Police);• Cost of obtaining Certified Copies of your conviction(s).Income eligibility thresholds are 200% of the 2021 Federal Poverty Guidelines as set by the U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Services.Bring Your ID; a Michigan Drivers License, State ID, or Tribal IDMasks, and Social Distancing will be Required! If You Are Sick Please Stay Home. Please Pre-Register at: https://www.mils3.org/our-work/expungement-of-criminal-convictions or at nwm.org/ExpungementFairor Call MILS at 231-947-0122 or Contact Northwest Michigan Works! at www.michiganworks.org or call (800) 442-1074EXPUNGEMENT FAIR DATESManistee Fair - MI Works. 400 River Street—January 29th 10am - 2pmPetoskey Fair - Odawa Hotel. 1444 US 131 Petoskey—Feb 19th 10am - 2pmTraverse City Fair - MI Works Office. 1209 S. Anyone who has enjoyed the luxurious taste and mouth-feel of raw tuna as sashimi or in a poké bowl or ceviche never forgets it. The other thing we can't forget is that no matter how massive a tuna fish is, we're running the risk that they ain't going to be around much longer because of overfishing. That's where Kuleana steps in, with plant-based seafood that obeys its Hawaiian name, having a reciprocal responsibility by caring for the ocean while the ocean offers us up tasty sustenance. Courtney Buckley joins the podcast to share the inspiration behind her latest small business venture: Your Mom's Bazaar in Davidson - a sister concept of Your Mom's Donuts in Matthews and Charlotte. Your Mom's Bazaar is a small and hyper-local market with a goal of fostering a community. You're going to love this new small business in Davidson – enjoy! From the Your Mom's Bazaar website:“Along the same vein as our sister concept, Your Mom's Donuts, community drives everything here. We believe the people are what make every town unique and we want to highlight all of the greatness our area has to offer.
