YP football writers Stuart Rayner and Leon Wobschall join FootballTalk host Mark Singleton to cast an eye over the latest events in and around the Yorkshire football scene. They start off at Old Trafford where, on Monday night, Leeds United took a huge step to securing their Premier League status for a second season after beating Manchester United 2-1 – the win moving them six points clear of the bottom three with six games remaining. They then turn their attention to the Yorkshire derby between Barnsley and Rotherham United, which saw the Tykes claim all three points in their 3-1 victory and condemn their visitors to a seventh game without a win. The Millers then followed this result with a 3-0 defeat when they visited Wigan Athletic and in doing so, they sealed their relegation in the process. What next for both clubs?Another all-Yorkshire clash brought together Sheffield United and Hull City, the Blades coming away with all three points to leave the Tigers looking over their shoulders in the race to secure a play-off spot.Huddersfield Town who played out a 1-1 draw when they hosted Cardiff City and while they still have a chance to get into the League One play-offs, they need to start finding ways to close the gap sooner rather than later. Finally for this week, Stuart picks out his Yorkshire-based Player of the Week, while Leon selects the best Yorkshire Team of the Week.

Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman, marking my 108th episode of VideoFuzzy titled "Tenuous Connections," reporting the progress I've made in cataloging thousands of VHS transfers and digital recordings. Plus, with this episode I celebrate cataloging disc 2000 in my Classic Collection. I open with my Fuzzy Feature, discussing "Plateau," a third-season episode of "Fringe" in which a neurological lab subject is suspected of committing murders via chain reactions and tenuous connections. I talk about "The Second Thousand," the pace of this project as I look back on nearly nine years of this cataloging effort, and the sorts of things I have to look forward to as the cataloging portion of this project is coming to a close. In Cross Connections, I track connections through the rather impressive back catalog of Michael Eklund, the lab subject in that episode of "Fringe." Also, Rachel Miner, Shawn Ryan, Ted Griffin, Adam Carrera, McG, Maggie Q, Shane West, Lyndsy Fonseca, Melinda Clarke, Linda Hamilton, Tim Curry, Steve Buscemi, Olivia Munn, Vanessa Williams, Kate Micucci, Jennifer Aniston, Michael Chiklis, Julie Benz, Rhea Perlman, William Shatner, Nicole Sullivan, Will Sasso, Tom Stashwick, Missi Pyle, Cybill Shepherd, Jean Smart, Sam Pancake, Tim Bagley, Steve Austin, Nicole Richie, Alex O'Laughlin, Daniel Dae Kim, Grace Park, Chi McBride, Jorge Garcia, Masi Oka, Ian Anthony Dale, Scott Caan, D.B. Sweeney, Clea Duvall, Zeljko Ivanek, Lawrence Pressman, Michael Cristofer, Will Arnett, David Cross and Russell Tovey. In "Fond Reflections," I am joined by longtime friend and friend of the pod Marc Bailey, also known as Grailwolf, in a farewell to Nicholas Brendon, who we said goodbye to this month. Brendon's strongest presence in my media collection was as Xander Harris in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," as well as a principal role in "Kitchen Confidential" and a recurring role in "Criminal Minds." In my Classic Collection [VHS-to-DVD transfers], I celebrated cataloging discs 1976 through 2000 with a detailed discussion of what I was finding in this set, with comments on "Terriers," "Nikita," a Trident commercial that caught my eye, an IFC documentary called "Portraits of Braddock," "Mad Men," "Rubicon," Stephen Colbert cosplaying Peter Sellers' character Doctor Strangelove, clip shared to VideoFuzzy's Instagram. Also, "Hung," "Covert Affairs," "The Closer," "Chuck," "The Event," "Criminal Minds," "Cougar Town," "$#*! My Dad Says," "Boardwalk Empire," "Grey's Anatomy," "Glee," "Raising Hope," "No Ordinary Family," Aaron Sorkin and "The Social Network," "The Good Guys," "Monty Python's Flying Circus" and "The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret." In Book Reports, comments on Caleb Carr's "Surrender, New York"; Katheryn Harkup's "A is for Arsenic: The Poisons of Agatha Christie"; Caroline Crampton's "A Body Made of Glass" and M.C. Beaton's "Agatha Raisin and The Vicious Vet." In my Current Collection [direct to digital], I added Marilyn Manson's video "God is in the TV" (1999), as well as "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" (1975), "The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let's Do the Time Warp Again" (2016), "Desperately Seeking Susan" (1985), "Who's That Girl?" (1987), "Dick Tracy" (1990), "A League of Their Own" (1992), "The Crazy World of Julius Vrooder" (1974), "Heretic" (2024) and "Mister Sterling" which I found posted to Margaret X's YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/@margaretx6030. The YP's football writers Leon Wobschall and Stuart Rayner join host Mark Singleton once again to cast their eyes over the last few days of the Yorkshire footballing landscape. This week, they start with the League One Yorkshire derby between Huddersfield Town and Rotherham United, one which saw the Terriers edge to a 1-0 win and maintain their play-off hopes, while making life more difficult down the bottom for the Millers.Sheffield Wednesday claimed their first point in 14 games with a 1-1 draw against Watford, while steps towards new ownership seemed to move forward, making for a rare positive week.. Hull City enjoyed a mixed week, losing 3-1 to Millwall while getting the better of Wrexham on Tuesday – but how does that leave their automatic promotion chances?Excitement is taking hold at Elland Road after Leeds United booked their first FA Cup quarter-final spot since 2003 with a convincing 3-0 win over Norwich City, guaranteeing them a trip to West Ham United for a place in the semi-finals.Doncaster Rovers grabbed a midweek point against Luton Town but are still in need of much more in order to pull themselves clear of trouble at the bottom end of the League One table – can they pull it off?Barnsley earned a hard-fought point against high-flying Cardiff City as well as a 2-1 win over Exeter City, but is their League One campaign in danger of fizzling out to nothing? Finally for this week, we turn to Stuart for his Player of the Week and Leon for his Team of the Week.

The FootballTalk panel start this week's podcast off at the Steel City derby, which saw Sheffield United come out on top with a 3-1 victory and in the process confirm Sheffield Wednesday's relegation to League One. What are the implications for the Owls and how long will it take for them to get back up to the Championship? The Yorkshire derby between Doncaster Rovers and Rotherham United also comes under the spotlight, as does the Millers' midweek trip to Bradford City – both games ending in defeat and increasing the relegation fears for Matt Hamshaw's team.Another topic, another Yorkshire derby, with Huddersfield Town returning to winning ways against Barnsley. The result strengthened belief in the Terriers' play-off bid, while Barnsley remain stuck in limbo almost, still in sight of a late play-off push, but also having to be wary of the teams beneath them in the standings. Finally, Stuart is tasked with picking his Team of the week, while Leon selects his Player of the Week.

Amy Rutherford on Smooths, Bred-By Success and Preservation Breeding [caption id="attachment_14897" align="alignleft" width="961"] Amy Rutherford winning Best Bred By Exhibitor at AKC National Championship with Wager.[/caption] Today's episode brings you a rare conversation with someone who does not say yes to interviews very often. Amy Rutherford joined host Laura Reeves for a holiday visit and the timing could not be better, fresh off her Best Bred-By Exhibitor win at the AKC National Championship with her Smooth Fox Terrier, Wager. For breeders, exhibitors, and dog show fans, this conversation delivers real insight into what it takes to build a program that lasts. From a childhood dog show moment to a lifetime in terriers [caption id="attachment_14896" align="alignleft" width="356"] Rutherford with one of her foundation Smooth Fox Terriers.[/caption] Amy's path started early. Her parents were horse people who also kept Australian Shepherds before they were AKC recognized. A winter trip turned into a defining moment when the family got snowed in and visited an AKC dog show. From the stands, young Amy watched Smooth Fox Terriers in the ring and knew she wanted that life. The journey was not immediate. Her first breed was Airedales, which taught hard lessons about grooming, structure, and realistic expectations. Eventually, she saved money and purchased Smooth Fox Terrier puppies that both finished quickly and became group winners. That early success did more than build confidence. It created a foundation and one of those early bitches still anchors the pedigree behind her dogs today. The handler apprenticeship that built a career Amy's handling career developed the way the best ones often do, through years of real work. She spent summers helping professionals and then committed to a full apprenticeship with Eddie and Leslie Boyes. She stayed for nine years, learning the daily realities of conditioning, presentation, animal husbandry, trimming and the logistics that define show life. [caption id="attachment_14894" align="alignright" width="278"] Rutherford showing Dover, Ch. Aimhi Type Cast, at Westminster Kennel Club.[/caption] That apprenticeship is a major takeaway for anyone interested in becoming a professional handler. Amy explains that experience builds skill and it builds a network. When she went out on her own, she had the credibility and connections that make the difference between surviving and thriving. Showing different breeds and winning with controversial dogs One of the most valuable parts of this episode is Amy's honest discussion about stepping into breeds that are not part of your original comfort zone. She moved from Smooth Fox [caption id="attachment_14898" align="alignleft" width="396"] Rutherford showing Standard Poodle, Dino, GCH. Del Zarzoso Salvame From Afterglow[/caption] Terriers into coated breeds including a Portugese Water Dog and a Standard Poodle import....

Hunting for Raccoons and Ribbons with Border Terriers [caption id="attachment_14799" align="alignleft" width="376"] Karen Fitzpatrick with one of her Meadowlake Border Terriers.[/caption] Host Laura Reeves is joined by Karen Fitzpatrick from Meadowlake Border Terriers to talk about hunting raccoons and ribbons. “My background honestly was straight hunting,” Fitzpatrick said. “I hunted long before I ever bought a Border. I started here in the US and then started hunting in the UK, met people there. I just love the hunting aspect of Border Terriers. “Border Terriers are still very high on the list for hunting instinct and actually are still made to do the job they were bred to do. “In the middle of winter, we did a lot of barn hunting, and that was just literally clearing out haylofts of raccoons. In this deep, deep snow like today, you would hit a big barn, cut a few terriers loose in a loft and woo, come on. It was crazy. “We did a lot of in ground hunting during the spring and fall, but we tried to not do too much in the spring, mostly because of a lot of groundhogs having babies. Fall is the better time because they're big and fat and getting ready to hibernate and the holes are bigger.” Fitzpatrick has produced 170 champions and 12 best in show winning Border Terriers, including the top winning bitch in the breed. She was named AKC's Sport Breeder of the Year in 2014 and Terrier Breeder of the Year in 2018, one of a handful of breeders honored in both conformation and performance. “They have to be able to function and do their job and my belief, back then as it is today, they can be beautiful and still do their job and that is what I have absolutely brought through and I will continue it.”
Hour 3 of October 27, 2025 Jacob Townsend talks with ETSU head football coach Will Healy about the win over Wofford, status of Cade McNamara, defensive performance, direct snaps, and more. Send us a textThis week on Leave Your Mark, I sit down with one of the most iconic figures in college hockey history—Coach Jack Parker.Jack's coaching career began in 1968, immediately after captaining Boston University's Terriers. Just a few years later, he stepped behind the bench as head coach, launching a remarkable 40-season journey that would define both his career and the program.Across four decades, Jack led BU to three NCAA titles, 24 NCAA tournament appearances, and 897 wins—the third-highest career total in NCAA history at the time of his retirement in 2013. His loyalty and leadership cemented him as the winningest coach at a single school in NCAA history. He was named NCAA Coach of the Year three times, and in November, he will be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame as a builder, recognizing his extraordinary impact on the game.In this conversation, we explore what it takes to sustain excellence, the lessons Jack learned along the way, and what legacy truly means when you dedicate your life to a craft. We thought it would be a great time to review some listener emails to our lottery episode! Listener Chris: Greetings all y'all from the Secret City, If I somehow managed to win a $10 Million lottery my three gun choices would be: 1) The Mars Automatic Pistol in .45 Mars Long Case. 2) Suomi KP/-31 (Or a PPSh-41, I'm not picky) 3) and finally so I could commute to my own personal range and land of general tomfoolery I would have a Vespa 150 TAP. I may not be fast but the road ahead will always be clear. Thank you all for the years of entertainment and laughter. Keep your sticks on the ice. —————— Listener Chuck: "If I won the lottery, there would be signs..." Assume I'm some place where all this cool stuff is legal. Or, I'm rich, I can buy a measure of privacy. 1) The Anderson Wheeler modern clone of the break top Webley, 7 shot .357. I have no idea if any of those were ever actually made. (That's actually about it. Not thinking of anything else exotic right now.) —————————————— Listener Phil: Hello, My Neuvo-Riche Millionaire List Smith & Wesson .357 Registered Magnum, 3 ½” or 4”, like-new condition. Hamilton Bowen M1917 Redhawk in .50AE. Essentially a Redhawk done up in a manner reminiscent of the Smith 1917. Lugerman P-2020 Luger in .45 ACP. Cheat Pick- Colt Bulldog, model 1877 Gatling gun, all brass, 45-70. With all the furniture, boxes and doo-dads and what not. I would call it Rooster. And if I were to win in real life, I dream about a bank of CNC machines as seen in the TFB video of the Manhurin factory and a group of talented individuals who then go down my list of small- batch runs of Mauser C96, Terriers, Merwin & Hulbert, HK M13, P08, 1917's, Smythons, Trejos. Meanwhile I'll be scouring the country for plans to that Detonics Top-Break! Ah, dreams ——————————— Listener Rob: Here are my selections , Sticking to handguns unlike some folks, but may have lost count a little Purchase the custom s&w revolver Jerry Miculek used to set record of 6 plates in 1.88 seconds. Would likely take big sum of money to the family, would own for one year, train and take classes extensively to see how close I can get to the record. (Likely not close at all, but the chase would be fun) Then, put for auction and market the hell Out of it with all proceeds to promote youth shooting sports along with anything the JM family wants to support, in equal parts.
