Send us a Text Message.Danny Worsnop, born on September 4, 1990, in Beverley, East Yorkshire, England, is best known as the lead vocalist of the British rock band Asking Alexandria. His distinctive voice and charismatic stage presence have been central to the band's success and evolution over the years.Worsnop co-founded Asking Alexandria in 2008 alongside guitarist Ben Bruce. The band quickly gained traction in the metalcore scene with their debut album, Stand Up and Scream, released in 2009. This album was characterized by its heavy breakdowns, electronic elements, and Worsnop's powerful screams and melodic singing. It helped establish the band as a force within the genre, and Worsnop's dynamic vocal abilities were a significant factor in this rise.Following the success of their debut, Asking Alexandria released Reckless & Relentless in 2011. This album marked a shift towards a more rock-oriented sound while retaining their metalcore roots. Worsnop's versatility as a vocalist was showcased through his ability to switch seamlessly between harsh and clean vocals, contributing to the album's critical and commercial success. In 2013, the band released From Death to Destiny, further evolving their sound. This album leaned more towards hard rock and featured Worsnop exploring a wider range of vocal styles. His performance on tracks like "The Death of Me" and "Moving On" highlighted his growth as a singer and songwriter. However, in 2015, Worsnop parted ways with Asking Alexandria to focus on other musical endeavors, including his rock band We Are Harlot and a solo career. During this period, he explored different genres, showcasing his versatility as an artist. His solo work, particularly the album The Long Road Home, delved into country and blues influences, demonstrating his ability to adapt and excel in various musical styles. In a surprising turn of events, Worsnop rejoined Asking Alexandria in 2016. Asking Alexandria have been going for a long time and after making a huge impact in the early metalcore days they've taken over rock radio with a string of hits and are now set to release their 8th album Where Do We Go From Here? Why is it called that? Ben clears up why as he joins us from his house in London where he's taking care of his kids and his wife. Ben also has big news to share as to why we haven't seen him on stage with the band on this past tour from Asking Alexandria.
We had the pleasure of interviewing Asking Alexandria over Zoom video!Since 2008, Asking Alexandria, formed and based in the U.K., have paved a path of their own, distilling danger and excess into an equally dangerous hybrid of stadium rock ambition, metallic energy, and electronic ecstasy. Against all odds, they achieved unprecedented success earmarked by two gold-certified singles (namely, “Final Episode (Let's Change The Channel)” and “Not The American Average”), over a billion cumulative streams and views, and three consecutive top 10 debuts on the Billboard Top 200—Reckless & Relentless [2011], From Death to Destiny [2013], and The Black [2016]. In addition to headlining packed gigs on five continents, they destroyed stages alongside Guns N' Roses, Green Day, Avenged Sevenfold, Alice In Chains and Slipknot, to name a few. Meanwhile, 2017's self-titled Asking Alexandria spawned two of the group's biggest singles to date: “Alone In A Room” (40 million Spotify streams) and “Into the Fire” (30 million Spotify streams). The quintet—Ben Bruce [guitar, backing vocals], Danny Worsnop [lead vocals], James Cassells [drums], Cameron Liddell [guitar], and Sam Bettley [bass]— saw their first-ever #1 at U.S. radio with the single “Alone Again,” taken from their latest critically acclaimed album See What's On The Inside and a second Top 10 single “Never Gonna Learn” (#6). The band were also featured on the soundtrack for Better Noise Film's 2022 horror-thriller The Retaliators with the track “Faded Out (feat. Within Temptation),” and on the collaborative theme song “The Retaliators Theme (21 Bullets)” alongside Motley Crue, Ice Nine Kills and From Ashes to New. Worsnop also appeared as a guest on Hyro The Hero's “Who's That Playing On The Radio” in addition to Mick Mars.Asking Alexandria recently released their new track "Dark Void" via Better Noise Music. The band will be touring Europe throughout June and will appear at three U.S. rock festivals in July Rock Fest, Inkcarceration Festival, and Louder Than Life.ASKING ALEXANDRIA are currently offering a once-in-a-lifetime experience to shadow the band on tour for a day, including a guitar tech session with BRUCE where the winner will also get to take home the signed guitar, as part of Better Noise Music's “Fan Love Sweepstakes” fundraiser supporting Sweet Relief Musicians Fund's “Music's Mental Health Fund.” The grand prize winner and a guest will receive airfare and a two-night hotel stay to attend the concert, plus they'll receive a pair of VIP tickets to a future ASKING ALEXANDRIA show of their choice (subject to venue availability). I chatted with Ben Bruce from Asking Alexandria about their new single "Dark Void." We talked about why this song is heavy no matter what gatekeepers say, whether we will hear old songs (like "Not The American Average") live again, his love for nu-metal, fatherhood, mental health and whether not you should wear a t shirt from a band that you don't listen to. April, age 41, recently won the Masters women's race at the USATF Cross Country Championships and will represent the United States with Ben Bruce on 2/19 at the World Masters Athletics Short Course Cross Country Championships in Bathurst, Australia. We caught up with April before she left for Australia, and wow she is a force! In 2015, April was an alcoholic in an abusive relationship. Within a few years, she transitioned into an elite runner with a PRs in every distance, including a marathon PR of 2:39. April looks forward to crushing that marathon PR at Boston 2023, where she will be running in the elite field. We chat with Asking Alexandria's Danny Worsnop and Ben Bruce as they release their new album 'See What's On The Inside', featuring the huge single 'Alone Again'. They tell us about their new approach to writing, signing to a new record label, what they learned from previous record 'Like A House On Fire' and why they intend to spend more time in the UK moving forward.
Sure the pandemic hit everyone hard, especially those within the entertainment industry. Can you imagine though putting out an album that spawns 3 major hit songs right at the beginning of shutdown and then never being able to promote it? That's what happened to Asking Alexandria. Instead of touring behind 'Like a House on Fire' they ended up writing more songs. In the process they switched labels and for the first time since their amazing 'Stand up and Scream' album all five guys went to the same place and wrote and recorded together. New album will be out in October and the heavy new single "Alone Again" is out now. Joining from his home where his kids are set up in their living room bounce house, it's the guitarist for Asking Alexandria, Ben Bruce.

Matt Fitzgerald has been running (and writing about running) for most of his adult life. Like many passionate amateur runners, he never felt he quite fulfilled his potential. In his mid-forties, Matt convinced Ben Rosario, head coach of Northern Arizona Elite, to let him train with a roster of national champions and Olympic hopefuls in the running mecca of Flagstaff, Arizona. These runners included Scott Fauble, Kellyn Taylor, Stephanie and Ben Bruce, Matt Llano, Tim Ritchie, and several others. Matt's mission: Run the race of his life at the Chicago Marathon by preparing exactly like a professional runner. Matt’s gripping account of his “fake pro runner” experience allows us to partake in his dream of fulfilling his potential. Matt also details this process through the eyes of the pro's who live that life year round, year after year. Running the Dream pulls us into the rarefied world of professional running in a way we can all relate to, regardless of speed, and to take away pieces of one man’s amazing journey to try to achieve our own potential. Science journalist and astronomy publicist Govert Schilling was bombarded with emails, tweets and apps with questions about the strange phenomenon on Sunday evening. “If you see something flying and you don't know what it is, it's a UFO; an unidentified flying object. Not many people assumed that, but there were many who wondered: what was this? They weren't planes and it didn't stop. ” 'Impressive and spectacular phenomenon' The explanation is simple, Schilling said: The moving points of light in the starry sky were the 60 satellites launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on March 18 and launched into orbit. They will also be seen regularly in the coming evenings, says Schilling, known for his performances in De Wereld Draait Door. “It is a very impressive and spectacular phenomenon. In the beginning they are very close together and can be seen as a line of 'bright stars'. Over time, they fan out and are elevated. After a while they are no longer visible. ” The next tranche of sixty Starlink satellites is planned for Thursday 23 April. Asking Alexandria's Ben Bruce, Dorothy, From First to Last's Matt Good and others have taken to Twitter to discuss what they saw, and the replies to their tweets confirm that many people also witnessed similar phenomena. Bruce said he saw a lot of UFOs flying in a straight line, spaced evenly apart from each other and reappearing from the same location. Dorothy, who lives near San Diego, explained that they were not flashing, moved fast and didn't make a sound the way an airplane would. Some Twitter users sent links to videos of SpaceX Starlink Satellites in response, but the musicians deny that the appearance of what they saw was similar to the satellites. Good chimed in, adding that he saw the UFOs too, and that they were not satellites. The news got the attention of Fox 10 Phoenix, who are imploring Valley residents who saw the UFOs to send in any footage they may have captured. We'll be straight-up here. This isn't really a horror movie. However, we here at Fried Squirms still find this retelling of Faust, complete with Sex, Drugs, and ample amounts of Rock n' Roll (not to mention a devilishly amazing Malcolm McDowell as Mr. Capricorn cough Satancough) to be one of the more fun versions of the tale we've ran across. Bonus for fans of Black Veil Brides and/or Asking Alexandria, it stars Andy Biersack and Ben Bruce! So rock along with us to find out what the Squirms thought of American Satan. Danny Worsnop is back in Asking Alexandria, and he and guitarist Ben Bruce explain exactly how that happened. They’re also sharing some of the total debauchery that led to Danny’s original departure, the cryptic text messages from singer Denis Stoff that made it a little easier for Danny to return to the band, and what it took to make the new Asking Alexandria album, “Alone In A Room.” Danny’s also got some stage stories that’ll make you cringe (and maybe hit that skip button on your app), and a couple of classic heckler tales. Plus, a moment of seriousness about the state of the music business and what it means for the future of not only Asking Alexandria, but lots of other artists and bands.
We say goodbye to the Warped Tour this week with Asking Alexandria and Motionless In White! First up, Paul catches up with Ben Bruce of Asking Alexandria on their bus. Asking Alexandria only did the 2018 edition fo the Warped Tour for a week. Like many bands they owe a lot of their success to the annual touring festival that is on it's last run ever. I caught up with guitarist Ben Bruce to talk about their legacy with The Warped Tour, the return of original lead singer Danny Worsnop, the new album and more. With the sounds of other bands and tour busses in the background here is the conversation we shared while sitting on lawn chairs outside of the Asking Alexandria tour bus.

In this episode I am speaking with Alice Wright. Alice is a freshly signed professional distance runner for Hoka One One and was an absolute pleasure to get to know better. Alice moved from her home across the pond to the United States as a freshman in college. Her move would have been a big transition no matter where she settled, but Alice decided to go to the University of New Mexico- talk about a climate and scenery shock. Alice and I chat about how her freshman year didn’t go smoothly on the running front (she likes to say she was social networking), and how she returned home for the summer with a dedication to coming back in the fall ready to really secure her spot on the team and make her coach proud. Alice did just that, graduating as an 8x NCAA All American- including two runner-up finishes in the 10k. Alice and I talk about her decision to become a professional runner, what it’s like to live with Steph and Ben Bruce, how exited she is for her career going forward, and so much more! Alice is kind, sweet, determined, brave, and fierce and it was such a pleasure to have her as a guest on the show! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/chasing-bravery/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/chasing-bravery/support
