They also cover the importance of experience, the need for communication, the value of ongoing training and refreshers, and the fallacy of relying solely on equipment. Should you have blind trust in your relationships? Dysfunctional people including people who have lied to you, betrayed you, and manipulated you often demand it without proving to you that they are trustworthy. Do you know how to respond to them without doubting yourself? And is there a process of rebuilding trust that you can expect before offering it again? Blind trust isn't wise or healthy. Christians can have boundaries around trust. Today's show contains a full hour of Tore's comments during the extended impeachment hearings. The entire four hour proceedings can be accessed here: https://rumble.com/v3llds4-tore-says-show-28-sept-23.html. This is showing the people what the swamp is truly like. The worst of the slimy creatures are hidden. Smoke, mirrors, graft cover up and the unbreakable party line. Burisma, Hunter, the bribes and all the documentation are easily ignored by the Dems. Is this about Trump? He will always live rent free in all their minds. Finally, the MSM is acknowledging his power. Red, blue or in between. Raskin pulls many fast ones, and Comer counters. The people must do the work of the very lame media. The important role of Baxter Pharmaceuticals and it's well connected board members. Why were Obama's people working with Hunter? Was the CIA involved too? Now would be a good time to examine all related blind trusts. How the average Senator works to hide money and make investments. Revealing coms surround the purchase and sale of target securities. Attacking a business to destroy it's owner. No amount of congressional posturing can change the facts. Righteous people with good, honest common sense will always be able to see the truth. It's our special power. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

I was introduced to Natalie Walters through her first book, Living Lies, and as I chatted with her about her upcoming release, Blind Trust, I realized the reason the second book in that series felt different (and I stopped reading) was because I actually listened to the first book on audiobook! DUH! So, last night I started listening to the sample and immediately felt drawn in the same way. Weird, I know. But her second series, the SNAP Agency series went without a conversation due to all kinds of trouble, so we chatted about the whole series, especially the second book, Fatal Code (available now), and the third book, Blind Trust (releasing April 11, 2023). Listen in to learn more! Note: links may be affiliate links that provide me with a small commission at no extra expense to you. Are You Ready for a Reckless, Wild, Riveting Series Finale? Whooeee, I had a fun time chatting with Natalie Walters this week. Her last book in the SNAP Agency series might not come out for a few months, but those months are going to fly by and you have THREE books you can read while you wait. Not only that, but as we talked about, the first book, Lights Out, is half off at Baker Book House (with free shipping!) AND... there's a series prequel available for Kindle Unlimited readers (or to purchase! Feed an author!) right now. Or, you can wait and get that novella FREE in the month or so before release. Learn more about that on Natalie's website (link below). I loved the way Natalie described this agency as kind of an Avengers thing where everything goes terribly wrong and the fate of the nation is in peril unless SNAP gets it together and saves the day. Exactly what the cold, chilly (dare I call it a "cold SNAP"?) calls for, right? You can listen in to the interview about the first book in this series, Lights Out, HERE. Blind Trust by Natalie Walters When Lyla Fox receives a threatening letter from a man she put in prison, she uncovers clues that lead to a deadly government conspiracy--making her a target that fellow SNAP Agent Nicolás Garcia will protect at all costs. But working with Lyla proves to be more dangerous than he expects--for the mission and for his heart. You can learn more about Natalie and her books on her WEBSITE. You can also preorder Blind Trust at BakerBookHouse.com at 40% off AND... with free shipping--so better than Amazon even. ALSO... Don't forget that if you preorder this book, you can order another book at the same time and receive it with the free shipping deal, too! :D Finally, don't forget the prequel novella, Initium. You can read it free on Kindle Unlimited today, or sign up for Natalie's newsletter to get it free later!

In one devastating blow, dreams are shattered. Although this week's Team Never Quit guest, Cesar Perez, went from rising Hollywood star to miraculously surviving a head-on collision with a drunk driver, he shines brightly with the resilience of the human spirit. Cesar starred alongside Daniel Ratcliff (Harry Potter) in the action thriller Beast of Burden for which he also did graphic design work. Despite his severe brain injury, having his face shattered, and learning how to breathe, walk, and talk again, Cesar lives a life of courage and shows us firsthand that even in the darkest of moments, life has meaning. In this episode you will hear: I did a video tape audition that got me a role with Daniel Ratcliff {Harry Potter}. My life was really on the rise. I was driving to see my girlfriend when a drunk driver hit me head-on going over 70mph. He spun me around and then a big rig hit me – also going 70mph, and then I don't remember anything for the next 2 weeks. If life had a reset button, I must have pressed it. I was making a statement with my life and then it got cut abruptly. I thought if I can get out of this, there's nothing I can't do. The first thing I said to the guy that hit me was “the last thing I ever wanted to see is someone from my country behind bars.” I wanted my life back and no one could give me that back. Talking and facing that demon helped me put the period at the end. My family never left me – they showed me what true love actually is. That was the love that got me through it. My family's sacrifice gave my life meaning when my life felt meaningless. Once I could finally run, I thought “I'm gonna do more”, and that's what got me back to where I am. The drive I had as a kid is more intense now. It was running hot, but now it's running with a different fire. Putting my experience down in words helped me heal. As long as there's breath in me, it's still possible to live a beautiful life. If, in the end, I helped save a life, it was worth it.

Should you be able to buy and sell stock if you are serving in Congress? Every member of Congress is privy to information that the rest of the public is not privy to in some form, whether classified or not. We are not briefed by experts in the agriculture or foreign affairs or economics or transportation fields. If members trade on that knowledge, isn't that unfair? KSL Newsradio's Amanda Dickson wanted to find out how her guests on A Woman's View felt about that. Her guests this week included Cherie Call, singer and songwriter, Cathleen Sparrow, Executive Director of the Anne Arundel County Public Library Foundation, and dating coach Kristin Sokol. What is trust, really? In the first 20 minutes, we settle on this loose definition:Trust is about safety. You know what needs to be put in place for you to feel safe.If you feel the need to put them in place yourself (because if you don't, you won't be safe), that's the antithesis of you trusting someone. If you believe the other person will/has put those things in place on their own (such that you don't feel the need to do it yourself), that equals you trusting them. Where do you place your trust, and why do you place it there? Reasons Ryan has extended trust in the past (which isn't the same as trusting them):Conflict aversion. If I tell someone I don't trust them, they'll take it as me questioning their character, may become offended, and might hurt me. So I've extended trust to people I didn't trust, to avoid conflict.Outsourcing self. I know that I'm not trustworthy my default. Just like love, respect, value affirmation, etc., if I find something lacking within myself, I look for others to affirm it for me. I wanted people to trust me to compensate for my lack of trustworthiness, and the best way to get trust is to give it. One component of Tribalism is Implied Trust - meaning, it can be assumed that anyone in a given tribe has a certain set of things in common. So, if you vet people's trustworthiness based on certain characteristics, and you find they belong to a certain tribe, that one piece of information implies a whole collection of boxes you could reasonably check in the "do I trust them" checklist (i.e. if you're in my tribe, I find you more trustworthy because it's assumed that the characteristics of people in my tribe are things I've found trustworthy). When someone knows you well and loves you well, it doesn't occur to them to get offended at the prospect of you being who you are.If they love you well but don't know you well, they love a nonexistent version of you that only exists in their head, such that the idea of being your true self can seem like a threat to the relationship. If they know you well but don't love you well, they likely harbor some level of attachment to you becoming the version of you they imagine they would love more. TIME CODES: 13:17 - Why Ryan extends trust 24:00 - Tribalism and Trust 29:19 - Trust yourself most 42:04 - How is success in relationship defined? (spoiler, it's not longevity) 45:04 - ANNOUNCEMENT: This is our last season! 57:18 - Ryan epiphanizes the idea of extending too much benefit of the doubt GRATITUDES:Ryan is grateful for the editor/illustrator who worked on his first book with him.Abby is grateful her dogs, for teaching her patience and empathy, and also for giving her a new form of connective stillness practice. Today, Andy and I discuss why we put our bankers on a pedestal and have complete blind trust in them and what they do and say. We aren't taught what we need to know when going in to deal with the bank and in many cases we work with bankers that our family has for decades. Many of the people working in the bank are not in a position to be giving business advice. Check out the Impact Legacy Farmer is having on the American Farmer here: www.legacyfarmer.org

In this episode Sascha and I perform an act of meta-trust by allowing each other to tell our early experiences of blind trust. We (or at least I) find it surprising and revelatory. We discuss God, backpacks filled with survival tools and the utility of magical thinking. We explore whether or not it is a good idea to trust wolves who hate whistling, women who do face painting at health fairs and powerful children. We look into the many ways to trust a beach, what it's like to trust our own and other people's bodies and how we can build bridges of trust for each other.
A blind trust is a trust in which the trust beneficiaries have no knowledge of the holdings of the trust, and no right to intervene in their handling. In a blind trust, the trustees (fiduciaries, or those who have been given power of attorney) have full discretion over the assets. Blind trusts are generally used when a trust creator (sometimes called a settlor, trustor, grantor, or donor) wishes for the beneficiary to be unaware of the specific assets in the trust, such as to avoid conflict of interest between the beneficiary and the investments. Politicians, or others in sensitive positions (such as journalists and religious leaders) often place their personal assets (including investment income) into blind trusts, to avoid public scrutiny and accusations of conflicts of interest when they direct government funds to the private sector. A Totten trust (also referred to as a "Payable on Death" account) is a form of trust in the United States in which one party (the settlor or "grantor" of the trust) places money in a bank account or security with instructions that upon the settlor's death, whatever is in that account will pass to a named beneficiary. For example, a Totten trust arises when a bank account is titled in the form ", in trust for ". Forced heirship is a form of testate partible inheritance which mandates how the deceased's estate is to be disposed and which tends to guarantee an inheritance for family of the deceased. In forced heirship, the estate of a deceased is separated into two portions. (1) An indefeasible portion, the forced estate, passing to the deceased's next-of-kin. (2) A discretionary portion, or free estate, to be freely disposed of by will. Forced heirship is generally a feature of civil-law legal systems which do not recognize total freedom of testation, in contrast with common law jurisdictions. Normally in forced heirship, the deceased's estate is in-gathered and wound up without discharging liabilities, which means accepting inheritance includes accepting the liabilities attached to inherited property. The forced estate is divided into shares which include the share of issue (legitime or child's share) and the spousal share. This provides a minimum protection that cannot be defeated by will. The free estate, on the other hand, is at the discretion of a testator to be distributed by will on death to whomever he or she chooses. Takers in the forced estate are known as forced heirs. The expression comes from Louisianan legal language and is ultimately a calque of Spanish --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/law-school/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/law-school/support

On Daily Faith, joining us is Pastor Erik Reed. He is the lead pastor of The Journey Church in Lebanon, TN. Pastor Reed wasn't always a pastor. In his earlier years, he was a paratrooper in the US Military. On Sundays, Pastor Reed would visit his grandmother and attend church. It's then when the Lord started to tug on his heart, and he accepted Jesus into his life. Later getting married and starting a family and answering the call on God to plant a church in his community. He thought that life was great until one day realizing that God had other plans. From tragedy to trust, God led him and his wife down a journey over the next decade that transformed their lives to help minister to others dealing with loss, grief, and pain. In December 2019, his family suffered a traumatic event, the death of their thirteen-year-old son. But during this process, they have learned how to give their hearts and lives entirely over to the Lord with complete trust, gaining insight into the nature of God. Trusting in God is not the easiest thing for us to do; however, trust is the highest form of worship. When we surrender our all to the Lord and faithfully walk with Him in our lives, we develop a relationship built on trust that cannot be broken. Although you may not understand your current situation, we want to encourage you to continue to reach out for help and trust the Lord with all your heart. For more information about Pastor Erik Reed's story, check out his latest blog at erikreed.blog, and for information about The Journey Church in Lebanon, TN, please visit www.tjclive.com. In the middle of a communist country, we have a village of homes called Vatra Village. Moldova is one of the most impoverished countries in the world. Alcoholism is at a high, leading to an increase in mortality rates across the country. Most children grow up in an orphanage where they are unloved and unheard. They have suffered tragic losses that left them with feelings of pain and grief. Once they come of age, they are sent back to the villages where they came and are subject to the vile risks of human trafficking. We help save these children by bringing them into our homes, teaching them about Jesus, where they grow in their relationship by trusting in the Lord. They now have a big loving family and a safe place to call home. They are currently preparing for their summer program, where they will perform stories from the Bible to share with the youth from their villages using creative forms of dance and reenactments. Thank you for your generous support and continued prayers. For more information about The Orphans Hands ministry, please visit www.theorphanshands.org.

This week 100% BS is joined by Olivia Solanot, my sister! Olivia and I have shared experiences around our health journeys and our path of questioning the mainstream narrative. We dive into what blind trust is and how it plays out when we don't question powerful media outlets, medical institutions, and other societal norms. Often when we end up on a spiritual path that involves a shattering of paradigms, it can feel scary and lonely to question what "the norm" is doing. Why is it such an uphill battle to represent an alternative viewpoint? Why does it feel so uncomfortable to question common paradigms? What can we do better to be open to and consider perspectives that differ from our own? Oli and I allowed ourselves to speak freely on this topic and say what we think, even if it doesn't land well with someone. We hope you enjoyed the episode! Jan Broberg is the subject of the explosive documentary "Abducted in Plain Sight." She talks about the grooming process that occurred before she was abducted and raped multiple times by family friend, neighbor and fellow church member Robert Berchtold. Her story, she says, is a warning that predators can take years grooming an entire family - to get to one child.

Perspective is everything. That’s basically what we’re told in the 11th chapter of the book of Hebrews. But have you ever thought about what heroes of the past thought before their risks proved rewarding? Marvel at these daring accomplishments as we look at blind faith in this Sincerely Yours devotional podcast.

Sunday April 15th Message
A racist, bigoted, narcissistic buffoon sits in 1600 without a clue of what to do, or how to do it. And yet, there are people who still think that having a racist for president is okay. Voters, made a deal and put the security and welfare of America in a BLIND TRUST and left Donald Trump as the fiduciary in charge and themselves hostage to 4yrs of chaos, threats of nuclear war, and a return to white supremacist way of thinking. America buried its head in the sand and as a result, their own bias’ against a woman are coming home to roost. Damien Thaddeus, Kellie Green, Dr. Omekongo Dibinga, and Ron Busby join the round table and discuss the GOP Tax Plan, and the concern for black businesses.
iPolitics reporter Janice Dickson and morning show maven Supriya Dwivedi join the panel to talk about Bill Morneau's very bad week and Quebec's very bad legislation this week.
In all aspects of life, human beings would rather exercise control than risk placing trust. We treat relationships like business deals, as though marriage, family, community, and friendship are all quid pro quo, and we establish rules and policies to control these relationships. When we follow these rules and others do not, we act offended. As victims, we gain to power to accuse, influence, and control others. Worse, we do the same in our dealings with God. In the Gospel of Mark, we ask: “What must I do to inherit eternal life,” or, Lord, “we want you to do for us whatever we ask of you.” We refuse to trust in the Lord; and what we lack in commitment to his cause is replaced by self-assuredness. We distort his teaching, bending and twisting it to look like one of our lame rules. Then we place our trust in the rules that we fashion with own hands. To our own peril, we ignore the wisdom of Ray Henderson: “the best things in life are free.” Give us a word, O Bartimaeus, son of Timaeus. Richard and Fr. Marc discuss Mark 10:46-52. How would a Believer-in-Christ navigate blind spots in their lives? Why are we today journeying through seasons of life blind and still are encouraged to trust? I am blessed that my sister-in-Christ Rohini Hughes will continue to share her journey through this topic. Ms. Rohini Hughes is first a Christ-Follower and Kingdom Work for Christ with a powerful testimony of GOD’s Leading Hand through unexpected circumstances. Born and raised in a Hindu/Sikh family in New Delhi, India, her loving parents taught her to believe in a God through many forms of Hindu Gods and Sikh Gurus. However, Christ passionately pursued her heart for His Glory and 18 years ago she accepted Him as LORD and Savior. Today in addition to being an advocate for her own children, she is also a voice for Military Spouses and Children as the founder of her Non Profit Advocacy organization, National Military Spouse Advocacy Organization, (www.nmsao.org). Emma would love to hear from you through email.contact@kingdomworkforchrist.com. For more, visit www.kingdomworkforChrist.com or www.facebook.com/kingdomworkerforChrist. A special thanks to Alyce Metallo for her arrangement of Blessed Assurance (My Story), our opening song! Check her out at www.alycemetallo.com.

In a relationship, is having blind trust the same as fully trusting someone?
Driftglass and Blue Gal talk about music; can a song be too old to be cool? In our main event, can Driftglass trust a Chicago Democratic politician who changed her position, and now says Cook County is too broke to allow for a tax cut?Faith and trust in politicians is often an anathma to good government. The Tea Party has more faith in Sarah Palin than in their own eyesight. But what if you can't judge whether someone is lying or not? Finally, DG/BG remind themselves that The Tea Party Movement is actually a wholly-owned subsidiary of FOX news, and was predicted by Frank Capra's "Meet John Doe." Plus, it's time to slam David Brooks again. You'll love it, unless you're David Brooks.Support the show (https://www.paypal.me/proleftpodcast)
