One of the most striking patterns in Scripture is how Jesus consistently puts His disciples in overwhelming situations—not to discourage them, but to shape them. From the beginning of creation, God has given humans jobs too big to handle on their own. The call to fill and subdue the earth, to shepherd nations, to be His image-bearers—it's all impossible apart from Him. And yet, in His wisdom, He places us in these roles before we feel fully ready, training us as we go. In this episode, Whit, Casey, and Blake explore Mark chapter six, on-the-job training in ministry, and what it looks like to truly depend on Jesus in every season and situation. Judas Peter John - David Hansen - November 17th, 2024 Judas Iscariot (The one who betrayed Him.) John 13:2 And during supper, the devil having already put (what?) into the heart of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, to betray Him, Matthew 26:22 Being deeply grieved, they began saying to Him, each one “Surely it is not I, Lord?” (cf Mark 14:19, Luke 22:23, John 13:22) Luke 22 47 While He was still speaking, behold, a crowd came, and the one called Judas, one of the twelve, was leading the way for them; and he approached Jesus to kiss Him. 48 But Jesus said to him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?” Matthew 27 3 Then when Judas, who had betrayed Him, saw that He had been condemned, he felt remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, 4 saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” But they said, “What is that to us? You shall see to it yourself!” 5 And he threw the pieces of silver into the temple sanctuary and left; and he went away and hanged himself. John 13:27 After this Satan then entered him. Therefore Jesus said to him, “What you are doing, do it quickly.” (cf Luke 22:3) Simon Peter (The one who denied Him.) Luke 22 31 Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded to sift you men like wheat; 32 but I have prayed for you, that your faith will not fail; and you, when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers. 33 But he said to Him, Lord, I am ready to go with You both to prison and to death! 34 But He said, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster will not crow today until you have denied three times that you know Me.” John 21:17 He said to him the third time, Simon, son of John, do you love Me? Peter was hurt because He said to him the third time do you love Me and said to Him, Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You. Jesus said to him, Tend My sheep. John (The disciple whom Jesus loved.) John 13:23 Lying back on Jesus' chest was one of His disciples, the one whom Jesus loved. John 19:26 So when Jesus saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby, He said to His mother, Woman, behold, your son! John 20:2 So she ran and came to Simon Peter and to the disciple whom Jesus loved, and said to them, They have taken the Lord from the tomb, and we do not know where they have put Him. John 21:7 Therefore the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord he put on his outer garment (for he was stripped for work) and threw himself into the sea. Luke 22 61 Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had told him, Before a rooster crows today, you will deny Me three times. 62 And he went out and wept bitterly.

David Hansen – Sunday Service – April 30th, 2023 JESUS THE MESSIAH Psalm 110 & Matthew 22 The Multi-facetted Apologia of Fulfilled Prophecy in the Psalms Psalm 22:1 Matthew 27:46. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” that is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” Psalm 16:10 “the (body of) the Holy One will not see corruption” Acts 2 (Peter, Jerusalem) and Acts 13 (Paul, at Pisidian Antioch) Psalm 110 FOR TODAY (most quoted and the most alluded to). Matt 26:30, Mark 14:26 Think of singing Psalm 118:14 exactly then ! “After they had sung a hymn (Ps 113-118), they went out.” JESUS THE MESSIAH Position (Luke 4 versus Isaiah 61) Person (John 8 vs Deut 19 & Isaiah 42) Paradox (Matt 22 versus Psalm 110) Position (Luke 4 :15 – 22 versus Isaiah 61) Person (John 8: 12-14 & 28 - 29) Isaiah 42:7 (prediction of thea coming Messiah's work). To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house. Deut. 18:18 (prediction of the coming Messiah's words). I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in His mouth; and He shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. Paradox (Matt 22 versus Psalm 110) Psalm 110 1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. 2 The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies. 3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth. 4 The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. Matthew 22:41 – 45 Christ fulfilling Psalm 110 – Allusions in the Epistles Romans 8:34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Ephesians 1:20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Colossians 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 1 Peter 3:22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him. Fulfillment of Psalm 110 – As noted in ACTS (early church). ACTS 2 :33-35 Fulfillment of Psalm 110 – As noted in HEBREWS Hebrews 1:13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand until I make thine enemies thy footstool? Hebrews 8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; Hebrews 10 11 And every priest stands daily, ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins, 12 but this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; 13 from henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. 14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Psalm 110:4 The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 6:20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. HEBREWS 10 38 But My righteous one will live by faith (Hab 2:3-4) and if he shrinks back, My soul has no pleasure in him. 39 But we are not among those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith for the safekeeping of the soul. David Hansen - December 25th, 2022. What Child is This? Joseph, Mary, and Simeon On a sabbath day, about 2025 years ago, the anguished Joseph perhaps heard this Scripture read in his synagogue of Nazareth: Isaiah 7:14 Matthew 1:20 -22 Luke 1:28 55 LUKE 2:19 But Mary kept all these things [in her mind], pondering [them] in her heart. Luke 2:33 And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him. Luke 2:51 (12 years later) And he (Jesus) went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart. Perhaps one day the righteous man Simeon (perhaps a scribe) wrote in koiné Greek: Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. …and felt like throwing down his pen. HOW could this be?? Luke 2:35 Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven, given among men, whereby we must be saved.
This week Oliver interviews David Hansen from Weel Bike based in Seattle. Oliver has known David since the early days of Micromobility Industries, and indeed, Weel was one of the companies that the Microbility VC syndicate invested in back in 2019 when we were running it, so full disclosure, Oliver does have some skin in the game. We love what they're doing - they really have taken to heart what Horace talked about early on with the concept of what a smartphone on wheels would look like, rather than being a bike with phone bits stuck on. With the company about to ship bikes in Q1 next year, We wanted to bring David on to discuss their product but also their philosophy and what makes their vehicle different to any other bikes in the space. It's a bold strategy, but I'm excited to see what conversations it'll provoke about what a bike is or should be. Specifically they tackle David's background and how you and Justin got into building crazy e-bikes that ride themselves What software the bike offers Where they're at with Weel in terms of development/funding/etc The route to market Why no incumbents would be crazy enough to build this themselves What David sees as the future of ‘bikes' Learn more about David here. Visit the Weel website. Catch us on Twitter @MicromobilityCo. Horace and Oliver are also active on their personal accounts and would love to hear from you. Our newsletter is completely free, and you can subscribe to have it in your inbox every Tuesday morning here! And for those who want more, we offer our Micromobility membership (mmm — “Triple M”) which includes exclusive content, swag, and conference discounts, as well as live calls with Horace and team! We're also on LinkedIn and Instagram.
Her er linken til spillelisten:https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4vZq4O9uDFIANYzd21JnGG?si=df1133a7635945b5&pt=a8ce533fa66b3fa7cc7712c18bb40cc7*** Musikkeksemplene brukt i 3.episode Kontratenorer & kastratsangere:Henry Purcell: Come, ye Sons of Art, Away (Strike the viol), David Hansen, Oslo Circles (SIMAX)Henry Purcell: Come all to me, fra Timon of Athens Z 632, David Hansen, Oslo Circles (SIMAX)***Takk til Fond for Lyd og Bilde som støtter prosjektet Barokkpodden!Photo cred: Lars Bryngelsson*** Disclaimer: In my podcast Barokkpodden! Exodus 24:3 Why a “Second Law” ? new Generation new Possession new Lifestyle new Love Let us therefore renew the Covenant (of the Law) ! ● means “second law”; e.g. the Ten Commandments again (Deuteronomy 6). ● Deuteronomy 17 has some parallelism with 10 commandments; love and worship God in a pure manner, then behave in a righteous manner toward immediate others, then the godliness of your society, then its testimony. ● chapters 30-33 have Moses' parting words (which have broad application). ● contains key passages used in morning & evening Jewish worship services: a ‘statement of faith': Deut 6:4-, Deut 11:13-, Numbers 15:37- (The Shema). ● quoted by Jesus multiple times (incl. three times during His temptation); about 56 citations or clear allusions to verses in Deuteronomy are in the NT. Chapter 17 is within the Civil Law section of Deuteronomy. Some verses in DEUTERONOMY 17 :4-20 used in the SHEMA KINDS OF MEN and KEY WORDS Abominable Men (summary stoning, no gates) – Abominable ! Expunged Men (specific actions & gates of judgment) – Purge !! Presumptuous Men (re-actions & gates of judgment) ) – Presumptuous ? Royal Men (entire reigns assessed by God) – Regal (or carnal) ?? Moral examination and condemnation are everywhere in our society, and most of it based on emptying of the truth, upending of the truth, lies, counterfeits, and darkened thinking. Do we have: (i) perfect moral clarity, and (ii) the moral fortitude to act on the basis of what we see? Worship tops the list, it comes before ‘looking around'. In the face of mass shootings and tragedies in the world, what is the Good News? What does God call us to, as the people of God, in a time like this? Scripture can be helpful because it has a LOT to say about violence and protecting the most vulnerable among us. The Covenantof Marriage Genesis 2 18Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.” 19And out of the ground the Lord God formed every animal of the field and every bird of the sky, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them; and whatever the man called a living creature, that was its name. 20The man gave names to all the livestock, and to the birds of the sky, and to every animal of the field, but for Adam there was not found a helper suitable for him. Genesis 2 21So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place. 22And the Lord God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man. 23Then the man said, At last, this is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh, she shall be called woman because she was taken out of man. 24For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to (KJ cleave to) his wife; and they shall become one flesh. Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled;for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. Matthew 19 3The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? 4And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? 6Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. 7You husbands in the same way, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with someone weaker, since she is a woman; and show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered. 8To sum up, allof you be harmonious, sympathetic, loving, compassionate, and humble; 9not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you would inherit a blessing.
