#108 | February Ascension Energy 2021: Riding the Serpent of Time

Yoga of Ascension

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 6, 2021 18:01

In this February Ascension Energy & Ascension Symptoms Update 2021 we discuss the February ascension energy which can best be described as “riding the serpent of time.” Serpents do not slither in a straight line. They undulate in unpredictable patterns. In February we are on the back of the snake being carried towards the unknowable.Since January of this year the most notable ascension symptom has been the experience of non-linear time. Subjectively it may feel like January was a year rather than a month, and that trend will continue to intensify throughout the month of February. This is a continuation and intensification of the phenomena noted in September of last year, where subjective time seems to dilate while objective time compresses. Since then subjective time has alternated between racing and crawling, with a few weeks of relative normalcy in between, which has led to a general feeling of disorientation.Astrologically the weirdness with time is tied to the Saturn/Jupiter Grand Conjunction that occurred on December 21, 2020. However, the fluctuations in our sense of subjective time since September was but a foreshadow of a phenomena that will persist throughout 2023. This is due to a mysterious astrological configuration in Vedic astrology known as the Serpent of Time. This configuration occurs when all seven planets of the visible sky fall on one side of the zodiac, held within the arc of the nodes of the moon, Rahu and Ketu, according to a precise placement. With one side of the zodiac empty and the other side inhabited by seven planets, a major imbalance occurs in our physical reality and perspective. This can trigger psychological destabilization, addiction, and self-destructive behavior. Moreover, for the collective it forebodes strange happenings. That which was taken for granted as stable and unchangeable as soon as 2019 will see a complete restructuring in the next few years. The current Serpent of Time configuration will reach extreme intensity from February 8th until the 11th of 2021. There will be a confusion of conflicting energies during this time which may feel particularly disorienting. This Serpent of Time corridor will end on March 26, 2021 when Mars crosses over Rahu in Taurus, but since it is Mars conjuncting Rahu it will be a fiery finale. Additional Serpent of Time configurations will form throughout 2022 and 2023, suggesting a period of continued individual and collective upheaval and revelation. We are riding the serpents back and are beyond the edge of the known moving into the unknowable. We are past the point of no return. There is no going back to normal. Let go of the past and know it has served you as well as it could. Proceed into the unknowable with an attitude of play.Don’t take life too seriously. Life is a game. Even death is safe. Ride into the unknowable with childlike delight. Pleasure and pain are your teachers, learn your lessons with grace. Find laughter and joy even in the darkest moments.Amidst the general feeling of disorientation you may feel estranged from your own life. The lack of alignment with family and friends may feel particularly noticeable and stark. Familiar environments may feel surreal and strange. This is a symptom of shifting timelines. We are riding the serpents back through time, space and dimensions.Find stability by going within. Connect with that aspect of yourself which is unchanging. Tune into your great “I AM” presence and witnessing awareness. Relative reality is in flux. Stand firm in the absolute.

Going Beyond the Food: Intuitive Eating, Emotional Eating, Body Neutrality, Diet Mindset and Anti-Diet Podcast

Let's unpack comfort eating or eating for comfort.   Comfort is defined as a state of ease and freedom from pain or constraint.   When we eat for comfort, we feel uncomfortable; we don't want to feel discomfort, so we look for a solution to not feel comfortable and that solution is food. So we comfort eat.   Sounds like a pretty legitimate action… it is a coping tool. It's a variation of the larger family of emotional eating- whereby you eat in response to an emotion. Most often, uncomfortable emotions like stress. Stress eating, comfort eating, emotional eating - all the same thing - using food to cope with physical or emotional discomfort.   Why is it a problem to solve? Is comfort eating a problem? Let's imagine that same person feels the same level of discomfort, but instead of opening the fridge or the cupboard and reaching for food, that same person would say go for a run.   Would it be a problem to solve? ….   Interesting question, right?… but necessary. Especially as women, we must challenge all the beliefs we have learned about food, body, and health. Remember that diet culture was created by Patriarchy in order to keep women obedient and insecure.   Why is it that comfort eating is a problem to solve for women?   What diet culture is telling us is that it will lead you to eat too much, eat the "bad food," and gain weight. Diet gurus will tell you that if you could only control your emotional eating, then their diet would work… and you'd be thin!   Familiar…   But here's my question to you: Would you even desire to eat to comfort yourself if we weren't relentlessly chasing the thin ideal???   Think about that for a minute?...   How much of our discomfort physically and emotionally that we appease with food is caused by the relentless pursuit of the thin ideal, therefore diet culture   A shit load of it... lol.   Since this is a feminist podcast that promotes women empowerment with food and their body… I'm not going to teach to shame you for comfort eating or tell you that it is to be avoided.   No… that's diet culture way.     In this podcast episode, we will unpack this subject in a non-diet way... by asking WHY. What you'll learn listening to this episode: The reason why diet culture of comfort eating is so toxic The non-Diet approach to comfort eating The two questions to ask yourself when feeling the urge to eat emotionally Comfort food versus Comfort eating Mentioned on the show: Podcast Roadmap Conquer & Thrive

Together they discuss the work of Desmos and the section of Justin’s book on the “Curse of the Familiar.”“From our perspective, for us, we are not trying to subvert the school day. We're not trying to get learning outside of the four walls of the classroom. We're not trying to upend schooling and turn everyone into home schoolers. I'm not judging those necessarily, but I'm just saying, we know what we're not trying to do, and we're actually really eager to use the four walls, we understand that there are things that are possible when a bunch of people are together in a room that is impossible during asynchronous experiences. There's this sometimes collective effervescence, it's why we used to go to movie theaters, or why sports are interesting to watch in person, versus on TV. It's that bubbly champagne like feeling when you're all together. So we know what we're trying to change and not trying to change.” - Dan Meyer In this episode we’ll talk about:Dan Meyer’s edtech story and teaching experienceSuccess of QuizletCurse of the FamiliarCombat vs. Co-opt schoolingDesmos’ approachCommunity in edtechCreating a low, welcoming floorThe business of edtechAssessment in online learning Resources and LinksCheck out Dan Meyer’s blog!Learn more about Desmos!Watch the full Book Club webinar here!Check out Justin Reich’s new book, Failure To Disrupt!Join our self-paced online edX course: Becoming a More Equitable Educator: Mindsets and Practices Transcripthttps://teachlabpodcast.simplecast.com/episodes/bookclub6/transcript Produced by Aimee Corrigan and Garrett BeazleyRecorded and mixed by Garrett Beazley Follow TeachLab:FacebookTwitterYouTube

Plus, we are doing our year-end review of the best places to own income-producing properties. All that coming up on this episode of Flipping America.  Unless you are driving right now I want you to close your eyes. If you are driving, keep your eyes on the road and pretend you are closing them! When you open your eyes you are - in your imagination - rebooting your vision with a new filtration screen that I call the Opportunity Spotter. Imagine this is like a little radar sweep going on around you at all times. When it senses an opportunity, let your brain ping it. Today I’m going to talk about spotting and responding to opportunities. Now open your eyes and imagine there is a radar sweep in front of you, constantly scanning the horizon. If you can picture the input you see from the “inside the eyeview" of the Terminator, imagine that while you are looking at the regular world, you are analyzing it in a different way.  What does an opportunity look like? Combine, synthesize, (Milk, flour, sugar, butter, a bit of baking powder, blueberries.) Could that be ….? ...what would it take? What if we…? Could we combine this and that and …? ...has anyone else thought this? Ask the right questions How to Spot an Opportunity: In all directions, but mostly forward. Connect past experience with current situation The people you know Different asset class Different strategy Variation on a theme Familiar process in a new location Where do I look? Alignment Vision Values Circumstances Investment (compare everything) Equity (can leverage or OPM be used?) Effort (Worth it?) (is this how I want to use my time?) Repeatable? (is anyone out there doing this or something similar?) Downside (How could this kick me in the butt?) Cases (Best, Worst, and Most Likely) Analysis How to Filter the Opportunities Verbal “market testing” the idea. Dip a Toe in Set Goals Define KPIs Create Effort Milestones Daily Steps Action Plan This sounds like a lot but it can become second nature. The first few times you attempt to look at an opportunity this way, it might take you an hour just to decide to take the next step. I promise you two things: 1) It won’t take as long in the future. And 2) You’ll be glad you started this process.  As you become more successful in what you are doing and have money (you should try to keep that a secret, but word will get out), people will approach you with opportunities (99.8% NO). You might have a harder time saying no to the opportunities you see on your own, but you can do it as long as you know you need to.  Once you see the world through your “opportunity radar” lens, you’re going to start seeing them everywhere. I keep all my old idea journals and notes and as I look back over the years I’m amazed at the stupidity of most of my ideas and the naivety of some of the others. You’ll get to that point also, but don’t let that deter you. One GREAT idea that could be the antecedent to your fortune is built upon the rubble of 1000 bad ideas or good ideas poorly implemented. But to get to the GREAT one you must keep on going. Keep pressing. Don’t give up. Don’t stop. Keep ideating, evaluating, synthesizing, testing, and above all -- keep your eyes open! Motivational Quote: “There’ll be two dates on your tombstone and all your friends will read ’em but all that’s gonna matter is that little dash between ’em.” ~ Kevin Welch

Trey Shannon returns to discuss several options to get in better shape for racing and life that can be done with or without a gym.  We talk through a wide variety of ways to shave pounds off each car you drive by carrying fewer (extra) pounds in the driver seat.  Trey usually works with several pro level drivers and many with professional aspirations.  Podium Performance not only deals with physical preparation, but mental, visual, and many other related areas that can impact your driving performance, especially in long races or races with challenging conditions like heat etc.  If you happen to live in the Charlotte NC area, Trey is local to you and he works out of Podium Performance Fitness at www.podiumperformancefitness.com or 540-815-2737. We discuss the relative importance of driving perfect lines versus driving with full commitment on our Dominating with Dawson.  This philosophy was brought up to Bill at a recent HPDE last summer and had a dramatic improvement on his lap times at the event.  Maybe Bill was too smooth (for the first time in his life). We hope you enjoy this episode! Best regards, Vicki, Jennifer, Alan, and Bill Hosts of the Garage Heroes In Training Podcast and Garage Heroes In Training racing team drivers Highlights from this episode include: 1)  The podcast starts with a reference that won’t make sense unless you listen to the post credits.  Is it worth it to make it all that way?  TBD, but we hope so. 2)  What would a good starting point program look like to get into shape or back into shape. 3)  Trey also offers many suggestions for activities that can be done with body weight only or minimal equipment that you may have at home already. 4)  Leopard crawls:  what Bill usually has to do to get a new race car. 5)  RPPWFB.  Familiar?  Its an oldie, but a goodie around here. 6)  How often to work out and how long can be very dependent on your starting condition, but something is always better than zero. 7)  Remember, getting into better shape does not mean becoming a better circle or more round. 8)  How has exercise and people’s dietary habits been affected by the COVID induced isolation?   Trey also goes into several online options to look for guidance at home, many of which are available for free on YouTube etc. 9)  Trey also goes into the additional intensity that tempo can offer if you have limited weight at home.  Bill dates himself with a Billy Squire reference.  Trey being much cooler (and much younger) makes Flower by Moby reference.  Both are tremendously effective ways to raise your pulse and intensity, even with light or very light weights. 10)  Basic, fundamental diet discussion that leads to portion size control as a great place to start and work from, as well as the benefits of establishing an eating schedule. 11)  Trey expands upon the one key principle that everyone needs to keep in mind, you cannot out work a bad diet, but you can easily out eat any workout program. 12)  Vicki finds that the Noom app is very helpful for her to help control her diet and food consumption. 13)  If you are very interested in the aspects of nutrition and diet, please look to working with a nutritionist to determine your exact needs and perhaps any food allergies etc.  Even Trey’s team works with a nutritionist with several of his clients.  14)  Why does it always come back to Slurpee’s with Bill?  Trey tolerates it a bit and then they come up with a potential plan for controlling the craving for something while retaining control of your dietary inputs. 15)  How to start with small steps and changes to begin a path towards huge results.  Trey also goes into a planning approach to be ready for next season. 16)  Slurpee substitute smoothie is included below. 17)  Several gift tips for holiday gifts to help get in shape this year. 18)  Vicki looks for tips from Trey on how to ease into a fitness and diet program, while secretly just trying to control Bill. 19)  Hard Hog makes its first appearance in the fitness lexicon.  We shall see if it catches on.  Also, this proves that Vicki doesn’t just make up terms in racing. 20)  Approaches for working with and around any prior injuries, pain, or joint issues.   Some of the online or at home programs we discussed include:  Tone It Up, several Beach Body programs, The Mirror, Peloton, among a near limitless number of potential alternatives.   Bill makes a commitment to Trey that the next time he is on there with be 25 pounds less of Bill.  We really hope we see Trey again.  Lol.  Anyone interested in joining Bill in the contest, please let us know.  We all know he loves a competition and is more than willing to bet many stickers etc. And Trey’s smoothie recipe is as follows:  you can put in pretty much whatever you want, but I usually make mine two at a time, and I include the below ingredients. 1 Banana 1 Cup Strawberries 1/2 Cup Blueberries 1/2 Avocado 1/2 Cup Spinach 1 Multivitamin Dash of Cinnamon Dash of Turmeric 1/2 Serving BCAA Powder (Amino Acids - this is where the Slurpee flavor comes from) 1/2 Serving Protein Powder - Vanilla Water (maybe a little bit of nut milk in there too) For the strawberries and blueberries, I buy frozen bags. This makes things much easier, plus fruit that has been picked and almost immediately frozen tends to be slightly more nutrient rich than the "fresh" counterpart. I'll freeze my own bananas, as I have yet to find pre-frozen bags of those. #hardhog #garageheroesintraining #garageheroesintrainingpodcast #treyshannon #podiumperformancefitness

This IS A TWO PARTER! wHY? Because apparently, this 2020 ish has infiltrated my NFL team and not even COVID had anything to do with it. The 2020 Eagles are no longer a contender in the game of "SUPERBOWL OR BUST" talk for at least two more seasons. This episode is my realization and familiarity with the franchise QB and the Coaches who have now failed him being a familiar theme for the organization. Stop me if you heard this analysis before from...oh, a YEAR AGO? Still, we are here wondering now if the franchise QB even existed. Is Howie Roseman onto something with the "QB Factory" comment during the NFL Draft? I was is his last rites before no longer being in control of the personnel decisions going forward? Why did Coach Pederson look so lethargic and almost DRUNK during the post game Zoom conference? I can't even watch post game shows anymore. Forget the fact the commentators have now DEMEANED the front office for it's FAMILIAR mistakes with talent selection, and now with Twitter being a venting source, players are now being released and announcing it before beat reporters say so!!! Are we ready for the 2021 season? Sixers are back on the menu starting next week with conferences and pre season starting. Are they back "In the bubble" again? They might save the insanity of fans from a disappearing football team. LISTEN IF YOU DARE!!!!

Subtitle: "A strategic plan to break down complex topics, comprehend deeply, and teach yourself anything." This week, let's have a look at a book I've just finished called, "The self-learning blueprint". The author is Peter Hollins. According to his website (https://petehollins.com/) he is: "...a bestselling author and human psychology and behavior researcher. He is a dedicated student of the human condition. He possesses a BS and MA in psychology, and has worked with dozens of people from all walks of life. After working in private practice for years, he has turned his sights to writing and applying his years of education to help people improve their lives from the inside out." Table of Contents Chapter 1: A Self-Learning Plan; The Myth of Requirements; Macro and Micro Planning Chapter 2: The Four Pillars to Self-Learning; Transform and Synthesize Knowledge; Combine the New with the Familiar; Self-Testing and Retrieval Practice; Absorption Requires Space Chapter 3: Tactics for Learning; Managing Your Attention Span; Pomodoro and Friends; Change Locations; Construct Vivid Imagery; The Question Master Chapter 4: Navigating Obstacles and Failure; The Procrastination Cycle; Academic Buoyancy; Productive Failure; Inspiration Through Failure Summary Guide Why did I read the book? As most of you will know, one of my special areas of interest is in preaching and teaching the Bible. But doing it effectively. In other words, it's not enough to say the right words, to teach some truth, or even to convey some important information. A question must be asked and answered - is what I'm teaching connecting with people, and is it finding a home so that people can learn and grow? I picked up this book, even though it's not from a spiritual perspective, because I want to learn more about the science and technicalities of how we help ourselves learn and then help others. Many books exist on how to help others learn, and I am reading those also, but I wanted to read something which focused on how to teach things to myself. If I can become proficient at teaching myself, surely it will be easier to do so effectively in helping other people. Many of the concepts in the book with familiar to me. They were, however, a few surprises. And even the topics of which I was already aware, there were some fresh thinking which were I found very stimulating. Today I will not be giving you a blow by blow of everything in the book, just a few of the Ideas which had the most impact on me. My Big Takeaways 1. Test yourself: Simply cramming more stuff into the brain does not mean we learn it. Indeed, neither does going over the same material time after time. Highlighting has its place, but it does not guarantee learning. Testing ourselves is one of the best ways to settle information into the brain: "Instead of putting more stuff into our brains, retrieval practice helps us take knowledge out of our brains and put it to use. That’s what cements memory." Hollins, Peter. The Self-Learning Blueprint: A Strategic Plan to Break Down Complex Topics, Comprehend Deeply, and Teach Yourself Anything (Learning how to Learn Book 3) (p. 78). PH Learning Inc.. Kindle Edition. I have downloaded the flashcard app Anki (https://ankiweb.net/about) . Currently I am using it to learn the main principles from this book. Such spaced repetition, or distributed practice, is a way to ensure the Quality of the learning is high. It's a myth that quantity is the defining factor. "...instead of measuring the number of hours you spend on something, try instead to measure the number of times you can revisit it." 2. Pay attention to your attention: What are the true limits to our learning? It's not the capacity of our brains. "...our capacity for learning is almost never limited by the time we have; it is more often limited by the energy and attention we have." It's important to develop our own personally designed strategies to help us learn at the best rate and depth possible. A method I've heard of before but never used is the Pomodoro technique. Perhaps you've tried it. I have been experimenting. It consists of working for 25 minutes, then taking a short break. Sounds simple, but has a profound effect. When you're working for those 25 minutes, you are not distracted by anything else. Open no secondary applications, do not glance at your phone. Everything can wait for 25 minutes, can't it? In my personal experience I have found the 25 minutes fly by. Not only that, but I get a lot done. Why not try it and let me know how it works for you? 3. Change locations: One of the more surprising ideas in the book is that of changing locations when trying to learn something. In other words, don't just sit at the desk. Go to a different part of the house, go outside, walk around whilst learning something. "...if you change locations frequently while learning and processing the same information, you are strengthening your memory because it will be associated with multiple locations, smells, and general stimuli to make you remember it." Apparently this is known as 'increased neural scaffolding'. I have taken to studying something at the desk on one occasion, and then studying the same material at the dining room table. A different view, a different chair, a whole different experience. 4. Learning that learning is more important than learning: The process of learning is more important than the fact we learn. This is important because we often fail in our attempts to learn things. All the struggle gets so great we wonder if it's worth it. Is there and that we must remember that as long as we are in the process of learning we are being victorious. Successful. To be commended. Especially to ourselves! "Learning mode is different from results mode, and they have entirely different measures of success. When you want to learn, you are just looking for an increase in knowledge—any increase is successful learning. Reframe your expectations to make the learning as important as the result—more important, if possible." 5. Put it in your own words: Copying and pasting text from a book or other document gives us the impression of learning. However, at best a shallow. The best way to embed new concepts into her brain is to wrestle with the material. Peter gives us the 'Peter' method. "The four steps are: (1) normal note taking with as much detail as you can, (2) summarizing the information in your own words and clarifying the significance and noting questions, (3) connecting this particular piece of information to the lesson at large, and then (4) answering remaining questions and then summarizing each distinct page or section again." Part of the reason I make videos and podcasts about books is to force me to put things into my own words. Conclusion Did any of my main takeaway is connect with you? Testing yourself, paying attention to your attention, changing locations, learning that learning is more important to learning, or the significance of putting what you learn into your own words? Perhaps you have discovered other principles or practicals which make a significant difference to not only acquiring information but truly learning it. I liked the book. It's got enough proper research to make it credible, but not so much that it obscures what makes a desire to learn truly practical. I'm in a phase of my life where I am desiring to learn how to learn better. If you have any ideas for me I would love to hear them. Please add your comments on this week’s topic. We learn best when we learn in community. Do you have a question about teaching the Bible? Is it theological, technical, practical? Send me your questions or suggestions. PREMIERE: Jannis Brinkmann And Naldoe - Dusk 28 (Robin Schellenberg Remix) [Mango Alley] Kaleidoscopic colours radiate across Frankfurt skyline; “Dusk 28” opens a world of possibilities for Jannis Brinkmann & Arnaldov. Shimmering synth lines blink in stratified layers of sound that bleed into each other like the evening sky. A stream of consciousness pours out in cadenced vocal, that lilts gently into the night air. ‘Dusk’ takes on a new character over the distinctive features of Berlin. An innovative sonic architecture is revealed as sun makes way for moon via the sounds of Robin Schellenberg. Familiar melodic tropes emerge in the gloaming before radiating outward in new warm shades. Ice cool refrains cascade across a new landscape as Chook creates a dark soundscape that beckons the darkness while chopped vocals and new melodies drive relentlessly forward alongside a menacing analogue bassline. A vivid image of London is seared in the mind’s eye; a glorious ‘Dusk’ courtesy of Nichols creates a thickly textured sonic palette. A deep and resonant bass drives syncopated rhythms that pound a rolling groove, the heartbeat of bustling city as day turns to night. I see colours in the moonlight ride away into the sunset.

What gets in the way of asking for help? I’m ashamed: “Everyone else has their lives together; why do I need it?” I’m scared: “Will they just give us their opinion; are they going to just listen?” I’m strong: “I’ll be ok I made it this far; I’ll keep going” I have clarity: “I’m working forward on my goals already; I know what I’m doing” Familiar?  In this week's episode we’ll explore:    Can we feel supported by a lamppost? What happens when we get the support we need? The paradox of needing a mentor but not needing coaching. Why is it so hard to ask for help?  What’s it got to do with your feminine energy? Follow the artists on Instagram now to see more of their work and inspirations: @CharlotteMcdonaldArt, @Alfie.Kungu and @RoseElectraHarris!Charlotte McDonald an artist with a degree in Drawing and Painting from Edinburgh College of Art. She’s inspired by landscape, nature and the effects that the landscape has on today’s environment, Charlotte creates both abstract artworks in the form of prints and paintings. She explores and responds to the relationship between texture, colour and shape mostly based on abstract form but also sometimes observational.Alfie Kungu is an artist whose works are bright and playful, his childhood figurative characters realised with classical painting technique. Familiar cultural motifs are set against contrasting textures and fearless colours, coming together as a vivid expression of Kungu’s headspace. Kungu grew up in Hebden Bridge, Yorkshire and went on to study art in Leeds, followed by UWE Bristol graduating in 2016 with First Class BA (Hons) Fine Art. He has exhibited his work at ICA, Cob and HVQ8 Gallery Berlin. Rose Electra Harris is an artist working predominantly as a printmaker, mostly in etching and screen-printing. She completed her BA Hons in Printmaking at Brighton University in 2015. She now works between her studio at home, Slaughterhaus Print Studio in Stockwell and Print Club London in Hackney. In her work she explores the interior, creating dreamlike, surreal and vibrant interpretations of domestic spaces around her. The room is an oasis and the items within it are what bring it to life. Rose imagines the dialogue that exists between space and furnishings or objects – chandeliers, lemon squeezers, chairs or a freestanding bath, for instance. She uses decorative motifs, intricate patterns and a vivid palette, to make the everyday important! The 'Ripe For Discovery' Artist Series bottles are available now!
