Kurt kjergaard... Hello friends Today there is a new episode of my INDIE DANCE The Mix Series.... This time with Dj & Producer H3ndrik DJ from Germany Enjoy It... Kurt kjergaard... Bio It all started in the early 90s with a mixer and 2 turntables, I started my first attempts to mix electronic music together. Musically I was influenced by synth pop acts like Depeche Mode, Visage, Georgio Moroder, New Order and Kraftwerk. It wasn't long before the first official booking came in 1994 at the “Kling Klang” club in Wilhelmshaven. This was followed by various resident clubs, various raves, parades and festivals, mainly in northern Germany, where I was allowed to play regularly for many years with vinyl and later also digitally. Musically, I would describe myself as techhouse, minimal techno, deep / melodic techno with partly house and bigbeat influences. I actively feed my SoundCloud page with a monthly podcast series and also supply various labels worldwide such as Bunte Liebe Records, Hometown Records HN, Deephouse Metropolis, Deep Melodies, Syzygy Podcast from Australia, Vibracion Universal Podcasts from Mexico and many more with fresh sets! For 2 years now I have also been a producer in a duo with my buddy Element3 under the name "SYN3RGY" with releases on "Vorwärts Music" and the fantastic label "Cho-Ku-Reï Records". bookings: hendrik-dj@web.de LINKS https://soundcloud.com/hendrik-dj instagram.com/h3_podcasts_?utm_medium=copy_link Resident @ Streaming Project: Kap Horn 9 instagram.com/kap_horn_9?utm_medium=copy_link Resident Clubs: Werk 2 Oldenburg Fresh Fruits Deluxe Club im K34 Oldenburg Tivoli Club in Bremen Club Jabben Hanomag Club Hannover Meteor Club Leer X-ite Club Bremen Tower Bremen Beat Award winner 2000 in Jabben Club nowa lokomotyva Warschau Delight Club Bremen NFF Club Bremen Neue Welt Club Bremen Schwerelos Club Bremen Pier 2 Bremen Tracklist 1. Get Your Tracks Signed By A Production Music Publisher With Only 2 Hours of Effort https://www.2hourcomposer.com/getsigned With this season's storyline for Miracle Workers: End of Times, the showrunners aimed for an 80s VHS movie vibe, so for Matt, the trick was to find the right kind of synths. He played around with a few different approaches and ultimately landed on the style of Georgio Moroder and John Carpenter. To play up the “junked” aesthetic of the world, he also added some junkyard-type instruments to work along with synths and give the score its unique flavor. With the current release of Justin Hurwitz's new score for 'Babylon' in cinemas, Matthew Sweet looks at the theme of decadence in the movies through examples of its music. The programme includes notes by Debbie Wiseman for 'Wilde', Jen Anderson for 'Pandora's Box'; 'Caligula' by Bruno Nicolai, Nino Rota's 'La Dolce Vita', Jonny Greenwood's 'Inherent Vice' and Dustin O'Halloran's 'Marie Antoinette'. Philippe Sarde scores with 'La Grande Bouffe' and Craig Armstrong with 'The Great Gatsby'. The programme also features music by John Barry and Georgio Moroder, and the Classic Score of the week is Jerry Goldsmith's 'LA Confidential'. To round things off, a decadent helping of 'Babylon'.

A vos écouteurs

This is the music free version of Reel 2 of the podcast. For those of you who use Spotify, you can find the other version of the episode there, featuring some of the film scores and songs from movies that we discussed. The Adamsons bring you another Big Conversation in this second reel of their monthly film magazine podcast. This month we're discussing music in film. Starting with the composers who have soundtracked our greatest moments in film, from leading composers over the last few decades such as John Williams, Hans Zimmer and Ennio Morricone, we look at how film scores have evolved over time. This includes the innovations of pod favourite John Carpenter, the rise of new modern styles of composing in the 80s from the likes of Georgio Moroder and Michael Kamen, through to the new breed of composers such as Nordic tyros Ludwig Goransson and Hildur Gudnodottir and rock musicians who've turned to scoring films like Trent Reznor and Jonny Greenwood. We also look at classic film soundtracks that use rock and pop songs to enliven key scenes, from Trainspotting to Goodfellas and the mighty Saturday Night Fever, and the art of the Needle Drop when the perfect song meets the perfect film moment.
--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/lucila-zetina1/message
The Age of Aquarius/Let The Sunshine In (Also known as The Flesh Failures) Music by Galt MacDermot; lyrics by Gerome Ragni and James Rado From Peter Lawford to Georgio Moroder, just about every singer had taken this anthem of flower power and tried to make it their own. From the Tony-nominated Broadway musical "Hair", you couldn't swing a love bead without bumping into a version of this song when it came out. It summed up the era succinctly, simply, and inoffensively. If you're of a certain age, it will send chills down your spine as you recall a very brief time where The Man was on his heels for once. It made #1 for The 5th Dimension and has been covered over 70 times, which isn't much compared to Yesterday or Summertime, but you have to understand that all those versions were grouped into two years, basically. Bert Tenzer (with Kings Road) (1969) VERY bad voice-overs of actors pretending to belong to that generation. Old voice-over pros either paying tribute or making fun. We shall never know. Andy Williams/The Osmonds (1969) Andy Williams was old showbiz but I love the fact that he tried everything. Including Claudine Longet. I really love Andy Williams. He was daring and cool. Diana Ross and the Supremes (1969) Englebert Humperdinck (1969) Donna Gaines, AKA Donna Summer/Original German Cast of “Hair” - Wassermann (Aquarius) (1968) Johnny Mathis (1969) You hear him most during the holiday season. Then he goes away! Melba Moore (1970) My second-favorite version. God damn, she sings it. One of the few versions here that tried to reinvent and recontextualize. Peter Lawford (1969) Yes, the designated driver in the Rat Pack. Raphael (Live) (1980) Ray Conniff And The Singers (1969) The Ventures (Instrumental) (1969) Tony Martin (1969) My favorite version. Discogs: Tony Martin (Alvin Morris) had enjoyed a long and illustrious career as a star of stage, screen, and shellac (his first national hits for Decca came before the Second World War!), scoring international Top Ten singles in the Forties and Fifties along the lines of his rendition of Stranger in Paradise, overshadowed in the wake of Tony Bennett's competing version. But by the time Tony pitched up at Motown, he had had no hits for eight years, and his film career had long since hit the skids. Ethel y Los Drakers - Siempre Brilla El Sol (Spanish) (1971) Jennifer (Warnes) (1969) Yes, the same gal that sang "Right Time of the Night" and "I Had the Time of My Life" with Bill Medley. If you look close, she's singing backing vocals during the Roy Orbison "Black and White" concert. Galt MacDermot (1968) Julien Clerc (French) (1969) Light My Fire The Doors Again, a ubiquitous cover song which appeared in every singer's set-list at that time. Provocative enough for the young, melodic and simple enough for the more seasoned entertainer. One more thing: The Doors were an amazing band when it came to producing singles. Their albums are sometimes embarrassingly naive and treacly, sort of like The Moody Blues or Three Dog Night. But those singles, whew boy, they were good. Stevie Wonder (1969) This is a great version. Listen to the king of soul bassists, James Jamerson, eviscerate all that came before him. The Free Design (1971) This album is in my hall of fame for GREAT albums I could listen to over and over and find new things. Albums I discovered since I started this old show. Everything, from the production to the harmonies to the amazing upside-down covers. I am trying to get my hands on Chris Dedrick's solo record "Be Free". Soon. Maybe my birthday? Come on, now. Anyhow, this I put up there with Syreeta's records with Stevie, The United States of America, The Seeds of Love, all of them. The peak of the concept, along with There Is A Song (1972). And no one bought them!! If you like Sunshine Pop, this is the stuff. Better than The Mamas and the Papas. To my ears, by far. Listen to how low the Dedrick sisters are asked to sing. I love women in the lower register. I am a huge fan of all the Dedricks. And that's Billy Cobham on drums! Bob Thiele and his New Happy Times Orchestra with Gabor Szabo (1967) Clarence Carter (w/Duane Allman) (1967) Rhetta Hughes (1968) Shirley Bassey (1970) Also extremely very good. She is perhaps best known for having done the vocals on the theme tunes to three films in the popular British espionage film franchise James Bond. Woody Herman Orchestra (1969) Another cool version, this one by the Woody Herman Orchestra. Herman had been recording since the Big Band era. Fans of Frank Zappa will recognize the name Sal Marquez, who played trumpet solo #1. Amii Stewart (1979) Chet Atkins (1968) Even though he made his bones as a session player/producer, Chet was surprisingly open to doing modern songs by pop artists, to his credit. Like my friend Andy Williams. Minnie Ripperton/Jose Feliciano (1979) Os Baobas (AKA The Bubbles) (1968) The Soul Merchants (1968) The Lettermen (1968) This album made it to #43 on Billboard. The Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band (1969) Al Green (1971)

Skinny Dippin;' in the Oil '0' Joy indeed, brothers and sisters...this weeks journey promises nothing but hopefully delivers goodness from the Purple Grotto! Every 2nd Saturday of every month I take my traveling monkeys, records, cd's and sometimes 78's on the road to fleece unsuspecting record collectors out of their hard earned moolah....actually I provide quality records and "satisfaction guaranteed" returns, etc. This week on the DRRShow we have some cool s**t to lay on your lobes.... Set 1: Opening Salvo.... Georgio [Moroder] starts off the show with a 45 rpm on the HANSA [Europe] DUNHILL [USA] label....a killer snotfest recorded in 1972 but sounding more like 1965..."Watch Your Step" Link Wray proves once again that he's the king of all things that crunch with "The Wild One". The Linkster never fails to deliver....The West Coast Pop Art & Experimental Band from their 1st Warners LP and one of my favorites "Shifting Sands". The 5 Royals wrap up the 1st set with a killer R&B number "Say It" from Sid Nathan's King Records 1957. Set 2: Yes from their 1st LP and what is considered "the Peter Banks Era" with a Beatles cover: "Every Little Things She Does"...I have to be honest I dig the 1st 2 LP's Waaaay better than what came after but it's like another band after the 2nd so I dig those also...Bob Brozman a true "wizard of the strings" [not taking anything away from Roy Smeck] kills with "Hilo March" which always gets me "Dancing Barefoot" by NJ's own Feelies. Once only available on a flexi from the Bob Magazine, "Barefoot" can be had on CD if you look for it. I went to turntable #1 and dropped on the 2nd FREE LP...."I'll Be Creeping" from Island / A&M records to round off the halfway point of the show. Set 3: We "Hilo March" back to Hawaii where our friends 7th Order call homebase these days for a special offer:...…..If you email: info@7thorder.com and mention that you heard it on the Dangerous R&R Show, Daniel will send a link to download "The Lake Of Memory" CD which has the great Martin Pugh playing on some if not all the cuts. Tell Daniel I said "A hui hou". Yes makes an appearance again this time from their 2nd LP with another cover song "No Opportunity Necessary, No Experience Needed" a Richie Havens song from one of his better LP's "Something Else Again". The brits are on fire so I'm goin' along for the ride...Tramline with a cover of Stephen Still's "R&R Woman". Did I say "killlller?" How about the Buff Springfield themselves with the opening track from BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD AGAIN....Mr. Soul. A Neil Young song that I still listen to today. I got this track off the brand new Buffalo Springfield Boxset / Vinyl.....RECOMMENDED! We’ll end this weeks show with a rarity from the U.K...Andwella’s Dream from their first LP called Love and Poetry with a classic “Felix”...... Thanks for listening / streaming and I'll be back next week.....

Old songs, particularly the good ones, have a way of hanging around. Catchy "hooks" become the basis for a whole new song, as you'll hear in several of these tracks. Then again, the original versions of other were so popular, or so tapped into the zeitgeist, they've become ingrained in every generation to come after them. And then there are the classics, the songs we've been singing for decades, so they remain a part of the current consciousness, but unless given a "freshening," would be unpalatable on a club floor. It's the cycle of things; songs come, songs go, and some songs come back for a second, third, fourth, and more, round. In this go round, you'll find songs from George Michael; LIPPS, Inc.; Chic; Mike Oldfield (a name you may never have expected to hear in conjunction with a dance set); Faithless, Darude, Georgio Moroder, Stars on 45 (Yes! Stars on 45, can you believe it?); the Michael Zager Band; Everything But the Girl; Diana Ross; Aretha Franklin, and even Elvis. As I picked these tracks, I kept smiling and flashing back to the first time I'd heard them (yeah, I'm that old). It's been a fun walk down memory lane for me, and an even more fun notion thinking of how I'll drop each of these into a live set. Why? Well, not only because I can, but really, because they're that good and that fun! So, here you go, a collection of new remixes of some great songs dating back over the past 30 years, proving once again, that Everything Old is New Again!
CLUB KERRY NYC: Vocal Dance & Electronic - DJ Kerry John Poynter
Warning! Excessive beats per minute on this ride. Extreme dancing, movement, and increased heart rate may occur. If you are pregnant, hard of hearing, have high blood pressure or a heart condition then you are advised not to press play. It's been a while since the energy level has been this high on one of my podcasts. At about 30 minutes in it reaches 140 BPM (beats per minute). Usually it's between 128-130. It's SO good. Are you a lunatic superstar? Find out. Enjoy! Track List (55:15): Shine Like A Superstar (7th Heaven Club Mix) - DJ Elle: I remember listening to the original a few months back and thinking it was trash. But 80's band 7th Heaven, now turned producer/remixer have pumped out a fun house vocal. Lunatic (Club Mix) - The Disco Boys: German DJ/producers, The Disco Boys, create a future disco tune by sampling Gazebo’s 1986 tune “Lunatic”. The original was a top ten hit in Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland. View the original music video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwrxK6ogxhc Bodies (Cahill Refix) - Robbie Williams: The fun continues with always reliable Cahill with Robbie's #2 UK hit. "All we’ve ever wanted, Is to look good naked, Hope that someone can take it, God save me rejection, From my reflection, I want perfection" Counting Down The Days (Original Extended Vocal) - Sunfreakz feat. Andrea Britton: One of my fave tunes from 2007 that just needed to be brushed off. "Been around, now I found, I was walking on the wrong track yeah, Took my time, I was fine, I was looking for you, Lost my way, for the day, got my ticket, now I'm right back, Here to stay, it's okay, now I'm walking with you" Knock You Out (Original Mix) - Tiesto feat. Emily Haines: Emily is the lead vocalist from the indie rock band Metric. Check out the fab 3M remix of Metric's Gimme Sympathy on my previous podcast "Happiness Happening". Knock You Out is from Tiesto's new album Kaleidoscope. "Somebody to rough you up, Somebody to make it tough, Somebody to bait you, Somebody to love, But wait…" Home (Paul Van Dyk Club Mix) - Paul Van Dyk Feat. Johnny Mcdaid: Johnny is the former singer of the British cult band VEGA4. Home seems to meld the lyrical rock with the electronic. Good stuff. Paul Van Dyk remarked at an August Central Park performance that the song was about New York City. Hmmm. "They fashion streets out of the rock, Struck up statues to their gods, amen" Just Say Yes (Thin White Duke Mix) - Snow Patrol: Rock band Snow Patrol on my podcast? Stuart Price aka the Thin White Duke (Madonna/Confessions) takes the band onto the dance floor. Just say yes! Papillon (Tiesto Remix) - Editors: Wow! This song grows on you. It may become one of my faves of the year. Tiesto turned it out and reaffirmed why I loved him years ago. "Darling, just don't put down your guns yet. if there really was a God here, He'd have raised a hand by now. It kicks like a sleep twitch!" Give Me Love (Original Mix) - Coburn: My classic tune of this episode. This song never seems to get old. Lyrically it always reminds me of an old Georgio Moroder song. Bad Romance (Grum Mix) (Kerry John Poynter's Extended Revenge Edit) - Lady GaGa: Hot off the success of Paparazzi, Lady "sounds like baby food" Gaga kicks out a batch of new tunes. Skip the original and the formulaic sounding Bimbo Jones mix. Grum serves up a tasty 80's fusion sound. Love!
