Daniel talks to Dagoberto Gilb, one of the most important Latinx writers of our time, a conversation that spans Gilb's entire career, from his first books, meeting Raymond Carver, his relationships with publishers and the public, and many other subjects. This is an intimate conversation with an important American writer and thinker. In it Gilb reveals a lot, not only about himself, but about literature in general, being a cultural icon, making choices, and living the dream of the writer's life.

Also auf jeden Fall ne Menge Spaß.

So, hand on heart, how confident are you in your capability of developing new products or services, be it physical, digital or both? Wouldn't it be great to actually sleep at night and not have to worry about any nasty surprises project after project, organisation after organisation? In today's episode I catch up with Kai Gilb, an entrepreneur and a product development expert to discuss what it actually takes to be successful at PD. Kai is a highly experienced consultant and a trainer running his company Gilb International together with his father Tom Gilb who should require no introduction. The methods they have developed are extremely robust and systematic based on solid engineering principles and Kai has been traveling around the world teaching large enterprises how to apply them and thus become a more competitive development organisation. We discuss some of the key ingredients of product development, concrete ways of applying them, the state of IT in general but also some of his future plans working with artificial intelligence.I highly, HIGHLY recommend you to listen to his interview especially if you are about to or already have engaged yourself in any sort of agile software development. You don't want to miss what he has to say.

At Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia, Andrea Fergus has been using it to help a child with cerebral palsy. She tells the podcast about the positive experiences she’s had with the device so far. 5. Gross motor outcomes after dynamic weight bearing in two children with trunk hypotonia: a case series. Dynamic weight bearing in trunk hypotonia Elizabeth M. Ardolino, PT, PhD, University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, 5401 LaCrosse Ave, Austin, TX 78739 (eardolino@usa.edu).] A second research paper in Pediatric Physical Therapy journal reports on using the Upsee device in two children with truncal hypotonia. The United States helps citizens with disabilities by following the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act—IDEA for short. This provides students in public education access to a number of services—among them physical therapy. What IDEA does not do, however, is to specify precisely what the physical therapy should consist of. In the podcast Carlo Vialu picks up the baton. 7. Progress in training children with unilateral cerebral palsy to use their upper extremities is under scrutiny in Pediatric Physical Therapy journal and in the podcast in which Susan Klepper throws light on whether children should try to use the side that’s affected without having their other arm available to help.

Where to begin with Versatile? An institution, a label, a pioneering force, the French imprint has become a staple of electronic music for decades. This year was in fact the 20th anniversary of the label, which was founded by Gilb'R back in 1996. Across this period Versatile has released music by some of the most influential artists of a generation: Pepe Bradock, I:Cube, Joakim and many more have all appeared throughout the label's history. In the present day Gilb'R remains as relevant a musician as ever. Having previously operated under the alias of Cheek and as one half of the duo Chateau Flight he is as experienced behind the labyrinth of machines as he is in label management and selection. In recent years he has appeared more prominently under his own name having appeared as part of the Acid Arab series, Sex Tags and of course on his own label. As a selector there are few who can rival his capabilities behind the turntables, he has many years of influence and experience to draw upon, of course.

Woodcuts of Women (Grove) Dagoberto Gilb's stories have enormous poetic vitality, yet he feels that he suffers from a lack of recognition. Has his status as a Latino inhibited his acceptance by the literary establishment?
Dagoberto Gilb, of Anglo and Mexican heritage, calls both El Paso and Los Angeles home and is a union carpenter with a degree in philosophy. Gilb's rich experiences translate into stories that range the width of his native desert lands. He has been called "a powerful necessary voice in American literature whose emergence defies any pigeon-holing." He is a winner of the James D. Phelan Award in Literature, the Whiting Award, the Dobie-Paisano Fellowship from the Texas Institute of Letters, and a recipient of an NEA Creative Writing Fellowship. He is an author of "The Last Residence of Mickey Acuna" and "The Magic of Blood," stories which Jim Harrison said "deal with a portion of society that literature seldom ever reaches." Howard Junker is the founding editor & publisher of ZYZZYVA, a quarterly of West Coast writers and artists. This program was produced as part of the 1997 season of Racing Toward the Millennium: Voices from the American West in partnership with the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles. The media has been digitized with minor edits.
