Welcome, welcome, welcome to the Distraction Pieces Podcast with Scroobius Pip!This week Pip is joined by host, presenter and returning guest IAIN LEE!Iain is a welcome, familiar face to a lot of us - someone who's been involved with some really great things, and it's a great chance to catch up and check in on where life's been leading him for the past handful of years (or more fairly, where's he's been directing his life. Truly it hasn't been an easy journey, with various dependancies and relapses on the table, but the 2026 Iain is congniscant of how these situations came into play and is able to trace the path. But there have been some awesome stops on the journey too, in finding love via a long term working relationship, and navigating an incredibly heavy and tense live radio situation resulting in a life-saving triangulation of listeners. Included in the chat of course are re-evaluations of the past and past works, I'm A Celeb, humiliation vs humility, figuring out a live show in your living room, and confronting the end of level conscience boss that is the fact that one might be as good as one hoped to be. So a lot going on, clearly...! In this special episode of Perfectly Good Podcast—where the hosts normally rank John Hiatt songs A to Z—Jesse and Sylvan welcome guest Lilly Hiatt to talk about her own career. Lilly recalls starting guitar at 12, overcoming shyness to perform, and beginning songwriting in middle school, describing how melodies and lyrics arrive together and how she captures ideas on voice memos. She explains how songs develop at different speeds, how albums reflect a specific time period, and how collaboration shapes unexpected recording outcomes, including working with her husband Colby on Forever and their project Domestic Bliss. Lilly shares early memories touring with her dad, favorite venues, thoughts on Napster's impact on making a living through touring, and influences like Pearl Jam and Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska. She discusses personal songs “Ray,” “Thoughts,” and “Impostor,” then plugs upcoming Texas-area shows and encourages fans to support by buying merch and records at gigs. 00:00 Cold Open Dialogue 00:53 Podcast Intro And Guest Reveal 02:12 First Meeting And Fan Story 03:11 Early Guitar And Stage Nerves 05:46 Writing Songs And Poetry Roots 06:56 Songwriting Process And Tools 11:33 Building Albums And Collaboration 14:51 Domestic Bliss With Husband 15:41 Growing Up On Tour 16:35 Backstage Hello From Linda 17:52 Tour Life And Favorite Venues 23:50 Napster Era And Music Business 25:27 Touring Economics And Team 27:15 Touring Help Needed 27:45 Pearl Jam Origins 29:27 Eddie Vedder Shoutout 30:15 Writing Ray for Sister 31:15 Family Bonds and Aunt Life 33:43 Thoughts Voicemail Choice 34:57 Producer Magic Explained 37:25 Nashville Identity and Genre 39:24 Creative Goals Abroad 40:32 Springsteen Nebraska Deep Dive 43:02 Impostor Verse Backstory 47:27 Shows Merch and Farewell Learn more about your ad choices. You've worked on your pricing and offers. You know the value you deliver. And you still can't make yourself charge more.In this episode I break down the three hidden reasons why, and none of them are about strategy. We go into the subconscious fear of not delivering results rooted in childhood trauma, the comparison trap that keeps you pricing yourself as a student when you're already a teacher, and the identity conflict that makes charging what you're worth feel like a betrayal of who you are.Including a real RTT client case study that will make you rethink everything you thought you knew about your money blocks. If you've ever thought "who am I to charge that much?" this one is for you.

This is one of the most personal shares I've ever made. Behind the events, the success, and everything you see publicly… there was fear, doubt, depression, and moments where I thought everything might fall apart. In this conversation, I open up about: My divorce and the emotional impact it had on me Battling impostor syndrome while building a global platform The fear of failure, financial stress, and uncertainty How I shifted from fear into trust and purpose The identity changes that transformed my life The practices that helped me heal (gratitude, forgiveness, presence) What I realized is this: The external world only has power if you let it control how you feel internally. Llevas años logrando cosas y sintiéndote una impostora. Intentas silenciar esa voz con más logros. Y no funciona. Y te va a dar herramientas.
You cannot build the matriarchy out THERE if the patriarchy is still running the operating system in HERE. That's what this episode is about. Yesterday I recorded something I've been working with for a long time: the six shadows of patriarchal programming that keep you loyal to a system designed to extract from you and hold you in a vibration of fear. In your relationship with money, with food, with your body, with rest, with desire, with your own worthiness. I call them the LIVIDS: Lack. Isolation. Victimhood. Impostor. Doubt. Shame. You know them. They live in your body, not just your mind. They got passed down through your lineage, reinforced by culture, how you were parented, and dressed up as personal flaws you've been trying to resolve in therapy for years. Stop trying to fix programming and learn the practices that make it obsolete. In this episode I walk you through each of the LIVIDS, how they show up in your relationship with money and the 6 matriarchal power hacks that rewire them. This is where mindset meets the brass tax of trauma integration. Because a new world requires a new body, one that can actually hold what we're trying to build. Your calendar fills up fast.A meeting here. A “quick chat” there. Another request you say yes to… just to be helpful. And before you know it.. you're fully booked, mentally drained, and wondering when you'll actually have time to think. Not because you don't know how to manage your time…But because you haven't mastered how to decline it.In this week's BFG episode (Part 2 of the Taking Back Control of Your Calendar series), we're zooming in on one of the most underrated leadership skills: The Clean No.Here's what we unpack:The anatomy of a Clean No—a simple, no-drama way to decline requests (without overexplaining, apologizing, or leaving the door open for negotiation)The subtle habits that are keeping you overcommitted—like soft nos, guilt-driven yeses, and “just this once” decisions that quietly overload your calendarHow clear, direct boundaries instantly elevate how you're perceived—so you're seen as decisive, focused, and operating at a senior levelBecause saying no isn't the problem. It's how you're saying it.If every decline turns into a paragraph…If you find yourself justifying your time…Or if “no” somehow keeps turning into “maybe”…This episode will show you how to communicate boundaries in a way that's clean, confident, and actually respected.Enroll in BFG: Want to eliminate stress, self-doubt, and overworking so you accelerate in your demanding corporate career without grinding your way to the top?
Theresa Caputo is widely known as the Long Island Medium. Her series "LONG ISLAND MEDIUM" with TLC and her new series “THERESA CAPUTO RAISING SPIRITS” are both available to stream on major platforms. She is a New York Times best-selling author. Her podcast ‘Hey Spirit!' is available everywhere you listen. Learn more at https://theresacaputo.com Theresa recently sat down with Cybercrime Magazine during one of her popular tour stops and told us, "I'm the victim of cybercrime. When someone reaches out claiming to be Theresa Caputo and wanting to give you a reading, it's not me. I don't contact you, your dead relatives contact me. I'm not bothering anybody, it's the dead people that are bothering me. And now the scammers are bothering me!" Theresa's Facebook following tops 4 million, but scammers are exploiting her name. Fake Theresa Caputo accounts and groups – some with massive followings of their own – are posing as the Long Island Medium and defrauding victims through fake psychic readings, counterfeit event tickets, and more. “This is why we formed my fan club,” Caputo told us. “Back in 2014, we did it because people were taking advantage of my ticket prices. They were reselling fake tickets, promising them private readings, and people were paying thousands of dollars for these tickets. This is how we were really aware of what was starting to happen, but you're talking 12 years ago, before all of this blew up, and most certainly before AI.” Caputo stressed to us that she never charges for readings. Her fan club, which is accessible at https://TheresaCaputo.com, is the only way to get legitimate show tickets and reading information. The Long Island Medium also got personal with us. Theresa shared about the cyberbullying her daughter experienced, and how they fought back. “Do I like social media? Yeah, I like it because again, it's about connection and awareness, but the downside to this is that it's consuming our minds. It's allowing this unnecessary bullying and destroying people in their lives, taking advantage of people, scamming people. It's awful,” she said. • For more on cybersecurity, visit us at https://cybersecurityventures.com
Have you ever felt like a fraud even when your life is actually going well? I'm breaking down why imposter syndrome isn't a lack of confidence, but a gap between who you've been and who you're becoming—and how your brain is trying to protect you while you level up. I'll show you how to stop waiting to feel ready, start building real confidence through action, and finally step into the version of yourself you've already started becoming. Feeling stuck? It's time to take back control. If you're ready to master your mind and create real, lasting change, click the link below and start transforming your life today.
You know exactly what you want to say. You've rehearsed it in your head. It's clear. It's sharp. It's confident. And then you get into the meeting……and suddenly you start rambling. You soften your point. You add five extra sentences no one asked for.And somehow… what was clear in your head now sounds uncertain out loud.It feels like a communication issue. But what if it's not that at all?In this week's Breaking Free from the Grind episode, I'm diving in to discuss: Why overexplaining and overjustifying aren't about being thorough—but are actually driven by self-doubt and the need to manage other people's reactionsThe 3 moments high performers lose authority at work (saying no, making asks, and sharing their point of view)—and how overexplaining in these moments is quietly holding you backThe #1 senior leadership shift to certainty—and how to communicate clearly, concisely, and confidently so you're seen (and respected) as a senior leaderIf you find yourself overexplaining in meetings, rewriting messages multiple times, or walking away from conversations thinking “that didn't land how I wanted”…This episode will show you what's really happening, and how to shift into the kind of communication that actually reflects your level.Enroll in BFG: Want to eliminate stress, self-doubt, and overworking so you accelerate in your demanding corporate career without grinding your way to the top?
__________________________ ||||| PERSONEN |||||

Jules showed up to the recipe section of this episode with a drink in each hand, fully convinced the Brown Derby was a Kentucky Derby cocktail. She was wrong - but her enthusiasm was entirely justified. It turns out the Brown Derby has one of the stranger origin stories in cocktail history: invented in London, stolen by a Minneapolis greeting card tycoon, falsely credited to Hollywood, ignored for seventy years, and then resurrected by the craft cocktail revival as if none of that had happened. Brad walks through the whole beautiful mess, while Jules delivers an exceptional side-by-side breakdown of bourbon whiskey profiles that makes this essential listening for anyone who's ever stood in a liquor store aisle wondering what difference it actually makes. Three ingredients. A lot of history. Surprisingly few of it true. Brown Derby In shaker add 1.5 oz Bourbon 1 oz Pink grapefruit juice (fresh) 2 tsp Maple Syrup Double strain into chilled coupe Garnish with grapefruit twist Derby Sour Ingredients: 1.5 oz Bourbon ¾ oz Grapefruit juice ½ oz Lemon Juice ½ oz Orgeat syrup 1 Egg white Dry Shake Shake again w/ ice Double strain Garnish with fresh cinnamon on top The Art of Drinking IG: @theartofdrinkingpodcast Jules IG: @join_jules TikTok: @join_jules Website: joinjules.com Brad IG: @favorite_uncle_brad This is a Redd Rock Music Podcast IG: @reddrockmusic www.reddrockmusic.com Learn more about your ad choices. Do you feel like the only way to stay ahead at work is to control everything—every detail, every outcome, every possible problem before it happens? For high achievers in demanding corporate careers, the drive to overwork and grind often comes from a deeper belief: If I stay on top of everything, I'll stay safe. But the truth is, the constant need to control can quietly create the burnout, anxiety, and exhaustion you're trying to avoid. In this episode, I unpack the control illusion—and why learning to let go of what isn't yours to carry is one of the most powerful leadership skills you can develop. In this episode, you'll learn:Why high performers often overwork as a way to feel in control—and how that pattern actually fuels stress and burnoutThe six hidden reasons many leaders feel the need to control everything at workThe mindset shift that helps you stop focusing on what you can't control and start leading from clarity and confidenceA simple daily tool—the Leaning In vs. Letting Go T-Chart—to help you redirect your energy toward what actually moves your career forwardBecause the most effective leaders aren't the ones gripping tighter and tighter to every outcome. They're the ones who know when to lean in—and when to let go.Enroll in BFG: Want to eliminate stress, self-doubt, and overworking so you accelerate in your demanding corporate career without grinding your way to the top? Impostor syndrome is one of many therapy-speak words that have gone mainstream in the past few years — but what is it, really? Aparna Nancherla knows all about it. Aparna is a comedian and the author of Unreliable Narrator: Me, Myself, and Impostor Syndrome. Despite her success as a performer, she isn't immune to self-doubt. In this episode, she talks about the ways she's learned to deal with impostor syndrome: like creating a resume listing all her failures, or making up words at parties to gauge other people's reactions. She also shares how she learned to put less stock in success and what to do when your mind isn't telling you the truth. For the full text transcript, visit go.ted.com/BHTranscripts Hosted on Acast.
