Gary Sinise's stage, film and television career has spanned more than four decades. In 1974, at 18 years old, he co-founded Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company. 20 years later, for his performance as Lt Dan Taylor in Forrest Gump, he received nominations for Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild and Academy Awards, and earned the Best Supporting Actor Award from the National Board of Review and the Commander's Award from the Disabled American Veterans. Other film credits include Apollo 13, Ransom, Snake Eyes, Impostor, The Green Mile, Mission to Mars and The Human Stain. For over 40 years, Gary has stood as an advocate on behalf of America's service members. In 2003, after several USO handshake tours, he formed the “Lt. Dan Band” and began entertaining troops serving at home and abroad. Over the years, the 13-piece cover band has performed hundreds of shows for charities and fundraisers supporting wounded heroes, Gold Star families, veterans and troops around the world. In 2011, to expand upon his individual efforts, he established the Gary Sinise Foundation with the mission to serve and honor America's defenders, veterans, first responders, Gold Star families and those in need. The foundation remains committed to finding new and exciting ways to give back to those who sacrifice for our nation and encouraging others to do the same has become his personal quest and what he hopes will endure as a legacy of service to others. In 2008, he was given the Presidential Citizens Medal, the second-highest civilian honor awarded to citizens for exemplary deeds performed in service of the nation. He is only the third actor ever to receive this honor. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

In this episode of She Who Paints, I'm opening up about something that nearly every creative faces but rarely talks about: imposter syndrome. I share the raw truth of what it felt like to experience it in the middle of my solo art show — a moment that should've felt like a peak — and again while building my meditative painting course. We'll talk about how these inner doubts creep in just as we're about to level up, and how they can sabotage not only our self-worth, but also our earning potential — especially for women. Inspired by Rachel Rodgers' insight in We Should All Be Millionaires, we'll explore how imposter syndrome keeps female creatives small and underpaid. Plus, I walk you through a simple but powerful journaling practice I use called the Triangle Technique, designed to move you through the emotion, rewire the belief, and reconnect to your desired outcome. If you've ever felt like a fraud or questioned your worth as an artist or entrepreneur — this episode is your invitation to reclaim your power. Orville Peck is full of apparent contradictions. As a kid in South Africa, he went from dancing ballet to playing drums in a punk band. He loves musical theater but made a name for himself as a country singer. He sings about vulnerability but covers his face with a mask. Peck talks to Rachel about embracing those contradictions and about starring in "Cabaret" on Broadway. In this heartfelt and honest episode, Giana opens up about her long-time relationship with perfectionism—how it quietly shaped her path, fueled impostor syndrome, and kept her playing small. We explore the sneaky ways perfectionism shows up in teaching yoga, and especially on social media, where carefully curated feeds can end up hiding who we really are.We talk about how striving to appear flawless can hold us back from taking risks, speaking our truth, and feeling like we truly belong in the spaces we've worked so hard to enter. That lingering sense of “never being enough”? Yep, we go there. And we talk about how embracing your full, messy, brilliant self can change everything. Authenticity creates connection. Vulnerability opens doors. This episode is your reminder that your presence doesn't have to be perfect to be powerful. Bring the mess. Bring the magic. There's space for you, just as you are. Also, there may or may not be a tangent about editing podcast episodes, faking it till you make it, and the stereotypical yogi facade.
