Welcome to The Other Side of Midnight with Lionel, where constitutional law meets late-night talk radio chaos. Lionel attempts to school the masses on what the U.S. Constitution actually says about due process, privacy, and abortion, explaining why it isn't a magical jar of "spaghetti sauce" that holds everything you want it to. However, the legal lecture quickly derails as wild callers hijack the show to debate Civil War states' rights, Pizzagate, Ray Bradbury, chaotic entropy, and Nest camera surveillance. Stick around as Lionel breaks down Fourth and Fifth Amendment technicalities before teeing up a mind-bending finale on Einstein, quantum mechanics, and the sheer philosophy of time. It's educational, highly entertaining, and beautifully unhinged. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Tank hit the ice in the Novice Hockey League last night — the Moorhead version of the NHL — but even after a late game, he was back up before sunrise to deliver the morning sportscast. Today he recaps his own on‑ice performance, breaks down the game’s biggest moments, and still finds the energy to cover everything happening across the sports world. It’s a mix of high‑effort hockey, low‑hours of sleep, and classic Tank determination.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Join the Conversation at 303-477-5600 or text to 307-200-8222 Monday - Friday from 3 pm - 6 pm MT. HOUR 1 Hour 1 of https://RushToReason.com opens with a bold challenge: are we being told the full truth about our health—or just the convenient version? John Rush is joined by Dr. Kelly Victory, an independent physician and nationally recognized public health expert, for a wide-ranging and provocative conversation. Should some prescription drugs—like antibiotics—be available over the counter? Would it lower costs and restore patient freedom, or create new risks? Then the discussion pivots to hormone replacement therapy. Is declining testosterone or estrogen just “normal aging,” or are people suffering unnecessarily? And how do you pursue hormone therapy safely—without falling for clinic hype? The hour turns more intense as they examine rising cancer rates, particularly in younger adults. Is it a coincidence, lifestyle, COVID itself, or the mRNA shots? Dr. Kelly outlines concerns about immune disruption, lipid nanoparticles, and batch inconsistencies. What can people do now? Are antibody tests and certain supplements worth considering? If you've ever felt like key details are missing from the mainstream narrative, this episode asks the hard questions—without apology. Websites Mentioned * https://LabCorp.com * https://howbadismybatch.com HOUR 2 Hour 2 turns up the heat. John Rush welcomes Alvin Louie, President of Courage Is a Habit, for a tactical breakdown of what he calls “language deconstruction.” Are cultural debates—especially around transgender ideology—being won not by facts, but by redefining words? Alvin shares a provocative role-play and a six-month social experiment designed to expose what he believes are manipulative debate tactics. How do you avoid getting dragged into the “swamp” and losing moral clarity? Then John pivots to media accountability. With the FCC reportedly scrutinizing The View over equal-time rules, what exactly is the Fairness Doctrine—and could it apply to late-night hosts, too? If one political candidate gets airtime, should the opponent automatically get the same? The hour closes with strong commentary on circumcision, religious doctrine, and a viral controversy involving an Islamic scholar condemning dog ownership. Are we witnessing cultural confusion—or a deeper ideological shift? If you care about free speech, faith, media bias, and parental authority, this hour demands your attention. Guest Timestamps * 1:17 – Alvin Louie - https://courageisahabit.org HOUR 3 Hour 3 opens with Jerzee Joe delivering a sharp economic perspective: Why do nations with the same geography end up worlds apart economically? From Haiti vs. the Dominican Republic to East vs. West Berlin, is government the defining factor between prosperity and collapse? The conversation intensifies with analysis of media silence surrounding controversial political rhetoric, questions about crime trends, and ongoing investigations tied to Black Lives Matter leadership. Are Americans getting the full story—or just curated headlines? Then, energy policy takes center stage as Kenny Stein, Vice President of Policy at the American Energy Alliance and the Institute for Energy Research, joins the program. What did the Trump administration actually roll back in EPA regulations? Were EV mandates quietly being imposed through regulatory backdoors? Why are hybrid vehicles outperforming fully electric models in a true free-market environment? And did Toyota outsmart Detroit by refusing to chase political trends? From governance and urban decline to energy freedom and the realities of the auto industry, this hour challenges narratives and asks: What happens when policy overrides the marketplace? Guest Timestamps * 1:08 – Jerzee Joe: @ https://www.jerzeejoe.com * 25:13 – Kenny Stein @ https://www.americanenergyalliance.org/ & https://www.instituteforenergyresearch.org

Hosting the Academy Awards ceremony is a notoriously tricky gig, but Conan O'Brien nailed it in 2025, and he will return for this year's event. Since leaving late-night television, in 2021, O'Brien has been busy: his hit podcast “Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend” commands perhaps a larger audience than he had on late night; he launched the travel series “Conan O'Brien Must Go”; and he's played a therapist in the 2025 film “If I Had Legs I'd Kick You.” O'Brien talks with David Remnick about the things that have gone wrong at the Oscars; why he won't get too “sentimental” about the gradual collapse of late night; and his shock at the deaths of Rob and Michele Reiner, who had been at O'Brien's house on the night they were killed. New episodes of The New Yorker Radio Hour drop every Tuesday and Friday. Join host David Remnick as he discusses the latest in politics, news, and current events in conversation with political leaders, newsmakers, innovators, New Yorker staff writers, authors, actors, and musicians.

This week on The VHS Strikes Back, we dive into Erotic Ghost Story (1990), chosen by friend of the show John Hammond — a man clearly unafraid of wandering into the “back shelf” section of the video rental store. Directed by Lam Ngai Kai during the golden age of Hong Kong Category III cinema, this supernatural fantasy blends martial arts, folklore, horror and soft-focus seduction into one uniquely 90s experience.Released at a time when Hong Kong cinema was pushing boundaries with stylised ghost stories and adult-themed genre hybrids, Erotic Ghost Story arrived as part of a wave inspired by the success of films like A Chinese Ghost Story. With elaborate costumes, theatrical lighting, wire-work action and unapologetic late-night cable energy, this is exactly the kind of film you'd discover at 11:47pm with the volume turned suspiciously low. It's mystical. It's chaotic. It's extremely 1990.Trailer Guy Plot SummaryIn a world… where fox spirits walk among us…Three beautiful spirits descend from the mountains with one mission: to experience mortal life. But when a power-hungry sorcerer discovers their presence, desire turns to danger… and temptation awakens forces beyond control.Magic will clash. Loyalties will be tested. Floorboards will creak ominously. This summer… seduction has a supernatural side.Erotic Ghost Story. You were watching it for the kung fu.Fun FactsErotic Ghost Story was released in 1990 during the boom of Hong Kong Category III cinema, the local rating equivalent of adults-only material. The film blends Chinese folklore about fox spirits (huli jing) with martial arts choreography and supernatural horror.Director Lam Ngai Kai became known for stylised fantasy films that leaned heavily into theatrical lighting and elaborate costume design. The movie was part of a wave of sensual supernatural films following the commercial success of romantic fantasy ghost stories in late-80s Hong Kong cinema.Practical wire-work and in-camera effects were used for levitation and fight sequences — no CGI safety net here. The English export title was intentionally provocative to help the film stand out in international VHS markets.Category III films often relied on strong box office from late-night screenings and overseas rental sales. The combination of eroticism and traditional mythology made the film controversial but commercially viable at the time. The film developed a cult following among collectors of 90s Hong Kong fantasy cinema. Its blend of supernatural themes and martial arts action makes it a frequent inclusion in “so-bad-it's-fascinating” VHS-era discussions.Support the ShowIf you enjoy the show and would like to support us, we have a Patreon here.If you're listening on Apple Podcasts or Spotify, leaving us a 5-star review (and a short comment) really helps more people discover the show. CBS lawyers ordered Stephen Colbert to cancel a live interview with Texas State House member and Democratic Senate candidate James Tallarico, citing pressure from FCC Chairman Brendan Carr and a newly threatened expansion of the equal time rule to late night entertainment programming. Colbert filmed the interview anyway in front of his live studio audience, then was told he could not air it, could not mention it, and could not even show a photo of James Tallarico during the broadcast. He did all three. The decision is widely seen as CBS pre-emptively complying with the Trump administration to protect the pending merger between Paramount and David Ellison's Skydance Media. Sherry Redstone already declined to renew Colbert's contract, with the show ending in May, a move many view as direct appeasement of Donald Trump. This follows ABC and Disney paying Trump $16 million to settle a defamation suit involving George Stephanopoulos, and previously pulling Jimmy Kimmel off the air under the same FCC pressure from Brendan Carr.Tallarico posted the banned interview himself, framing it as the interview Trump didn't want you to see. Polling shows both Tallarico and Jasmine Crockett performing strongly against John Cornyn and Ken Paxton, and Anderson Cooper simultaneously announced he is leaving 60 Minutes after nearly 20 years over editorial interference tied to the Trump-aligned direction of CBS under its new Ellison ownership.
