Hallo Freunde fürs Extraleben! Diese Woche haben wir zu Beginn mal was ganz anderes im Programm: Die Besprechung einer Dokumentation. Als Videospielpodcast bleiben wir aber thementreu, denn es geht es um die Entstehung eines Videospiels. Double Fine haben nach der Doku zu Psychonauts 1 viele Jahre später ebenfalls eine zur Entstehung des zweiten Teils rausgebracht. Und was für eine. Wir haben begonnen, das Monsterwerk in 32 Teilen zu schauen und haben viele Gedanken, die meisten davon sehr positiv. Spiele haben wir aber natürlich auch im Programm. Heute geht es mal wieder um eine Sucht, zu der Daniel sich seit Jahren bekennt. Richtig, Destiny. Der Bungieshooter frisst seit Jahren seine Lebenszeit, wie regelmäßige HörerInnen wissen. Letzte Woche kam die neue Erweiterung Lightfall raus und natürlich hat Daniel sich durch die Kampagne geballert und berichtet hier davon. Forspoken macht es mir nicht leicht. Das Gameplay gefällt mir sehr gut, die Welt Athia finde ich auch sehr interessant, nur die Story und unser Hauptcharakter Frey, die überzeugen mich nicht so wirklich. Ich hatte keine Probleme damit, durch die riesige Welt zu sprinten und zu klettern. Die Kämpfe haben mir auch richtig Spaß gemacht. Mit den Gegnern spielen und schauen, wie sie auf die verschiedenen magischen Angriffe reagieren, die wir auf sie loslassen. Für mich ist das Spiel definitiv kein Flop, aber ich kann durchaus verstehen, wenn andere sagen, dass sie mit diesem Spiel nicht glücklich werden. Diese tote Welt, was durch die Story zwar erklärt wird, wird mit Kram vollgestopft wie Schätzen (von denen es definitiv zu viele gibt und sich auch nicht wirklich lohnen), hat mir dennoch gefallen und Spaß gemacht zu erkunden.

My Forspoken performance concerns have me saying here we go again with 30fps. On today's IGN The Fix: Games, Sony has revealed more PlayStation Plus games coming August 16th including three additional Yakuza games, a multiplayer horror game, and an open-world Tom Clancy's shooter. Dragon Ball is the latest anime franchise arriving in Fortnite and it's less than a week away, with Epic Games confirming an August 16 release date. The internet can't get enough of the latest promo video for Forspoken, the upcoming action RPG from Square Enix, and Luminous Productions. On today's IGN The Fix: Games, Square Enix and Luminous Productions have some lofty hopes for their upcoming open-world title, Forespoken. Luminous Production's studio head and general manager, Takeshi Aramaki, said "With Forspoken, we are aiming to achieve the highest quality visuals ever seen in an open-world game". With the game being PS5 exclusive, at least at launch, it looks like it will at least try to leverage Sony's next-gen tech. The Pokémon Go community is currently expressing anger at developer Niantic, in response to announced plans to roll back changes implemented into the game due to the COVID-19 pandemic. These changes, which increased the real-world distance across which players could interact with in-game elements to aid with social distancing, were well received by the mobile- gaming community and they don't want to see them removed. And finally, Sonic the Hedgehog is speeding his way into Minecraft. With this new DLC update, players will be able to unlock environments from the Sonic universe while navigating obstacles and bosses to collect rings.
