What if the moment you're ready to abandon your vision is the moment you're closest to fulfilling it?In this deeply moving episode, I sit down with my soul sister across the globe, Chantal Togany, founder of Empowered by Style and Powerhouse Collective Australia. From her first glimpse of vision at age 13 to navigating the darkest valleys of entrepreneurship during Australia's intense lockdowns, Chantal shares her raw journey of surrender, reinvention, and alignment. She went from being a psychology grad in corporate suits—feeling out of place and unfulfilled—to stepping into her calling as a stylist, speaker, and women's leader building a national platform of connection. We unpack the difference between vision and mission, why alignment isn't about perfection, and what it truly means to follow your God-given calling when the path makes no sense. If you're in the messy middle, on the edge of giving up, or unsure whether your dream is “realistic” enough—this episode will speak to your soul. What You'll Learn in This EpisodeThe life-changing difference between mission and visionWhy alignment is a magnetic pull—not a destinationHow to turn deep isolation into purpose, clarity, and communityWhy dark seasons are often divine redirectionsWhat it takes to rebuild from the ground up—when you've lost everythingHow to create connection as a strategy for healing, scaling, and impactKey Takeaways✔️Your mission may shift, but your vision is sacred.✔️Alignment isn't about doing things perfectly—it's about staying connected to your truth.✔️Setbacks aren't roadblocks—they're redirections that reveal your next chapter.✔️We don't need more volume—we need more clarity and embodiment.✔️Entrepreneurship isn't linear—it's God-led hopscotch.✔️You don't need to be fearless—you just need to be willing.✔️If you feel alone, it's time to build the room you wish existed.Timestamps[00:00] – Abandoning the vision vs. holding on when it gets hard[03:00] – Meet Chantal: a nonlinear story of style, psychology, and alignment[06:00] – Where her 13-year-old vision came from[10:00] – Leaving psychology behind to become a stylist[14:00] – From suits to soul: identity shifts through wardrobe[18:00] – Mission vs. vision: understanding the difference[21:00] – What alignment actually means (and how to stay close to it)[25:00] – Navigating the pandemic: losing everything and starting again[31:00] – From Melbourne to Cairns: the power of surrender[37:00] – Why connection is the key to surviving entrepreneurship[42:00] – Starting Powerhouse Collective with 8 women at a table[47:00] – What it means to say yes to the vision (even when it doesn't make sense)[51:00] – When God slams doors to redirect you[55:00] – Final message: hold the vision, magnetize yourself back to alignmentChoose Your Next Steps:Identify one part of your mission that's no longer aligned—and be willing to release itAsk yourself: what would I do if I believed my vision was possible?DM me @itsgeorgebryant or Chantal on Instagram and share what you're surrendering or reclaimingConnect with Chantal ToganyInstagram (Styling): @chantal_toganyInstagram (Collective): @powerhousecollectiveauEmpowered By Style: empoweredbystyle.com (styling, color analysis & transformation)Work With Me or Join the AllianceJoin The Alliance – My exclusive Relationship Beats Algorithms community1:1 Coaching – Build and scale a business in full alignment with who you are

It's back to the offshore and marine industry today as we speak to a Thailand-based international subsea and offshore services company that services some of the oil and gas majors and their contractors.  Listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange in 2007, Mermaid Maritime provides full turnkey services through its diversified portfolio of subsea vessels, specialised diving equipment and remotely operated vehicles.  These services include subsea inspection, repair and maintenance, cable laying and engineering, transportation and installation as well as decommissioning.  The firm's operations span across five geographical regions, namely the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and Southeast Asia as well as the UK, and has a team of over 500 professional divers, technicians, surveyors, management and support staff.  Mermaid Maritime is an interesting company to watch given how SGX-listed offshore and marine are enjoying positive earnings results for the April toJune quarter and the first half of 2024. That's as players hold a strong pipeline of work and recover from an earlier slump seen during the pandemic. At Mermaid Maritime, the Group had in Q1 turned around year ago losses. In Q2 2024, it reported a net profit of US$2.9 million, an increase from the last quarter, but a drop on a yearly basis due to higher in-planned financial cost.  Its total order book peaked at US$976 million at the end of June 2024 with multiple project awards in South East Asia, the Middle East, North Sea and Western Sub Saharan region for both short-term and long term throughout FY2026.  But how does the firm assess its outlook ahead?  Meanwhile, with tensions in the Middle East weighing on oil prices, what would that mean for firms serving the oil and gas industry, such as Mermaid Maritime?  On Under the Radar, The Evening Runway's finance presenter Chua Tian Tian posed these questions to Paul Whiley, COO, Mermaid Maritime.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The US economy is strong. Unemployment is close to a 50-year low, real wages are rising for those at the bottom of the income ladder, and inflation is down though still not entirely in the rearview mirror. You'd never know it from the press coverage, though, which tends to focus on how people feel about the economy, namely that it's bad and getting worse. In this episode of Colloquy, we take a step back from perception to look at where we were, where we are, and how we got here. What did the pandemic shocks teach us about government intervention in the economy? What did they show us about inflation and unemployment? And what have economists learned that can help policymakers cope with the next big crisis? With us to parse these questions is Karen Dynan, a professor of the practice at the Harvard University Department of Economics and the Harvard Kennedy School. With his wealth of experience, Dr. Parrish delves into the intricate landscape of pandemic recovery, providing valuable insights on Florida's economic journey. Reflecting on the pandemic's impact, Dr. Parrish highlights Florida's resilience and rapid job recovery, overcoming the loss of almost 1.3 million jobs within a remarkable 18-month period. He underscores Florida's diverse economy and its ability to nurture growth even during challenging times. Discussing economic trends, Dr. Parrish reveals how Florida's focus on professional and business services has fueled job growth, thus diversifying the state's economic landscape. He sheds light on the positive impact of this diversification on smaller towns and counties, promoting population growth and economic revival. Addressing the broader economic outlook, Dr. Parrish offers insights into the US economy's trajectory, forecasting a potential recession in late 2023 or early 2024. However, he optimistically highlights Florida's ability to weather the storm more effectively than during the 2007-2008 recession, with a shorter and shallower downturn. Dr. Parrish discusses the Federal Reserve's role, emphasizing the importance of responsible fiscal management to prevent an escalating debt crisis. He explains how Florida's sound financial standing shields it from some of these concerns. Join us for an episode that demystifies economic complexities, revealing opportunities for recovery, growth, and informed decision-making. As economies worldwide look to bounce back from the unforeseen setback created by COVID-19 pandemic, most of them are faced with rising inflationary pressures caused by the Ukraine-Russia war. Nepal also seems to have hit a stumbling block in the recovery phase after 2 years of decent growth after facing a negative growth rate in NFY 19/20 for the first time in over 40 years. High inflation, liquidity crunch, plummeting foreign exchange reserves, and low internal revenue all seem to be troubling the economy simultaneously. Hence, the recently elected government has its hands full. In this episode, PEI's Aslesh and Siddhartha discuss the impact of COVID-19 on Nepal's economy and its post-pandemic recovery. They explore the macro issues faced by the Nepali economy during the unprecedented days of the pandemic and the external shocks that followed. They also review possible fiscal and monetary policies to manage the current economic woes and structural limitations. Even if the worst of the pandemic is over, some of the changes it foisted on our lives seem like they're here to stay. In cities around the nation, office space in dense downtown areas is well below full utilization, as workers spend more days working from home. Same goes for public transit weekday ridership. What happens to American cities if they're no longer the place to which people commute each weekday? Our guest this week points out that there's a great deal that city leaders can learn from each other about reimagining cities during this latter phase of the pandemic. Brad Lander is the comptroller for New York City and serves as the city's budget watchdog and chief accountability officer. He's also an urban planner and community organizer. Lander joins WITHpod to discuss some of the key problems NYC and other cities have faced during pandemic recovery, navigating actionable solutions, the role of federal intervention, the uniqueness of this moment in history and more.
