It's one of the most taboo subjects in the Church: depression and suicide among believers. And yet, statistics show that the numbers concerning depression and suicide in the church are alarmingly high - similar to secular numbers. Unfortunately, the church, rather than being a place of healing for those who suffer, can become a place of judgement. And, often, when pastors do speak up about depression, it may be to perpetuate the falsehood that “real Christians” do not get depressed. This adds sad upon sad. In this broadcast, I discuss the following: Depression statistics My personal story and struggle with depression People from the Bible and Church history who fought depression Causes of Depression in Believers False religious beliefs about depression Useful ways to overcome depression Encouraging Bible passages, and much, much more! I pray this important teaching will bless you and enable to overcome in Jesus' Name! Remember: Sharing is Caring... and could save lives! Sincerely, Sebastien Richard

There are 4 main misconceptions about the Kingdom of God that most people fall victim to in the course of their walk as believers. If you're not careful, and are not taught in the ways of the Kingdom of God, these falsehoods can make you a bitter victim instead of a better victor. We prefer that you become a better victor - and so does the Lord. As always, Be blessed and thrive on! P.S. In the back of my (Sebastien Richard) book titled https://www.amazon.com/Reasons-God-Wants-You-Prosper/dp/B08HTP4QV5 (5 Reasons God Wants YOU to Prosper), I wrote: "Hundreds of books teach believers how to prosper, but before you learn how to prosper, you must first identify, confront, and forsake the false money-related beliefs that are keeping you bound. This is your starting point of embracing God's plans to prosper you (Jeremiah 29:11)." Well, in this episode of the Thriving on Purpose Podcast, we take a look at 5 Money Myths Most Broke Christians Believe. While we know there are far more than just five, these are the ones we have identified as the main ones that keep believers stuck and struggling financially. The Lord requires a complet mindshift of your money mindset to trust you with more wealth. Are you ready to change your thinking when it comes to money? If so, this episode is a gret place to start! Those of you who are married know just how challenging it can be to have a thriving marriage in today's day and age. This is easier said than done, right? And, what about controversial stuff like the wife having to submit to her husband? Is this still good for today? True Leadership Begins at Home  We’ve been hearing a lot about leadership during crises these days. And there’s definitely a case to be made on how important this is. Leaders need to pivot and shift. Heads of corporations and small businesses need to adapt to a new economy and a new reality. Many big and small decisions need to be made if you, as a Kingdom entrepreneur, are to keep thriving at this time.   However, we must not lose sight of one very important fact: True leadership begins at home. The foundation of our society and way of life has always been and still is the family unit. And the family unit has been under attack for decades now.  Through television, movies, the education system, video games, the media, books and ideologies, the minds of our kids have been under attack for a loong time.  Right now is a pivotal time in history. A line is being drawn in the sand for the future of our children. Men of God… it’s time to step up. It’s a crucial time to take a stand as leaders in our home. Today, I give you 6 ways to lead your family during crisis. Quotes:“Leadership begins at home.” ~ S. Richard “Those who do not study history are doomed to repeat it.” (famous saying) “We live in a generation that fails to study history. As a result, not only are we doomed to repeat it, but we also reject as fools those who made it.” ~ S. Richard “I read old books because I would rather learn from those who built civilizations than those who tore it down.” (meme) “The best thing any father can do for his kids is to love their mom.” S. Richard “If she is going to stand behind you, she needs to know that you stand strong.” ~ S. Richard “Let the greatest among you become as the youngest, and the leader as one who serves.” ~ Luke 22:26   “Keep your faith in God, but keep your powder dry.” ~ Oliver Cromwell   “Communism is very much the political ways of the devil.” ~ S. Richard   “What we are seeing played out in our streets and communities is the culmination of a massive satanic attack on the west - make no mistake about it.” ~ S. Richard   “I believe in individual reform. Each of us needs to repent individually before we can repent collectively.” ~ Sebastien Richard       Recommended Resources:Episode 79: The Coronavirus: How Christians Should Deal with Pandemic Panic https://www.thrivingonpurpose.com/podcasts/the-coronavirus-a-reasoned-response/ (https://www.thrivingonpurpose.com/podcasts/the-coronavirus-a-reasoned-response/)   Book: America’s God and Country, by William J. Understanding the difference between your purpose and your ' Why '    If you’ve been a Kingdom entrepreneur for a while, you’ve probably heard about the importance of finding your ‘ Why ’, right?   Also, in entrepreneurial circles, you’ve probably heard the following lingo:   “Have you found your ‘ Why’ ?”    or...   “If your why doesn’t make you cry… it’s not your why.”   A recent interview we watched with ‘Why’ and leadership expert Simon Sinek got us to mastermind everything a Kingdom expander should know about their ‘Why’, and then some.   This episode is our musing and conclusions about the very important subject of finding your why.     Memorable Quotes:  “You can still find your why without God, but you will not only serve the wrong kingdom, but you’ll end up serving the wrong people, or serving the right people in the wrong way.”   “You can teach people how to find their ‘why’ without ever mentioning God once.”   “You can find your why outside of God, but you cannot find your purpose outside of God.”   “God uses the different seasons in your life to season you.” ~ Elisabeth Richard   “When resources such as money find themselves in the right hands a lot of good can happen for the Kingdom.” ~ Elisabeth Richard   “There is no calling without a caller.” ~ Os Guiness   “If you’ve found your ‘Why’ apart from God, it should make you cry.” ~ Sebastien Richard   Support this podcast

Many Entrepreneurs get paralyzed by the Fear of Failure in their Business  Whether they fear failure just for what it is, or whether they fear failure because of what others might say or think of them if they do fail - the fear is no less real.   But what is the best way to overcome the fear of failure? And what about everything we hear about failure being your friend or embracing failure? Is there any substance to this philosophy?   In this episode, we consider the fear of failure, how to overcome it, and the messed up views and thoughts that surround failure. As you will see, it’s one thing to fail and see failure as a stepping stone, but it’s quite another to expect to fail and to see failure as a necessity.   In the end, you too will believe that while failing is normal… it doesn’t make you a failure.   Are you ready? Let’s dig deeper!   In this episode you will:-Be given an almost fool-proof recipe against the fear of failure -Learn the two extreme tendencies concerning failure -Understand how pride goes before the fear of failure -Learn what is the one failure you must avoid at all cost     Memorable Quotes:  “Just because you fail doesn’t make you a failure.” -Sebastien Richard   “In order to overcome the fear of failure, you must overcome your own pride.”   “I remember my younger days growing up, it wasn’t uncommon for me to hear the expression: Failure is not an option. And I also remember who used to say these words. These words were usually said by winners.”   “How will children get an adequate measure of themselves if they can’t really measure themselves against others?”   “Those who hate to lose win more often than those who like to win.” -Sebastien Richard   “By repeating to people that it’s okay to fail, that failure is normal, we take away the necessary stigma associated with failure.”   “It’s not over until I win.” - Les Brown   “Will you fail? Most probably. Is it normal, Yes. Should you expect it? NO!!! That’s how losing is done!”   “The one failure in life you want to avoid at all cost is the failure to act on what God asks of you.” -Sebastien Richard       Recommended Resources: Failing Forward: Turning Mistakes Into Stepping Stones for Success (https://amzn.to/2Vloxnv)   Sometimes You Win, Sometimes You Learn, John C. The truth about vision boards explained  It’s the beginning of a New Year, and for many in the personal growth arena, this means it’s vision board time.   Many people make a vision board at the beginning of each year, or at each trimester or season to help them attain their goals more efficiently.   If you’re like us, you might have wondered if vision boards are biblical at all. You might have wondered if Christians should make a vision board, or is it simply a New Age practice that we should stay away from. In this episode, we’ll look at all four corners of the subject of Vision Boards. We’re gonna dig deeper into the subject to see if God condemns it, condones it, or perhaps understands that this is just one more tool for us to go further in expanding the Kingdom.  One thing is for sure… we will dispel the myth that this is just a New Age sham. Are you ready? let’s dig deeper...     In This Episode You Will:  Gain a scientific understanding of why vision boards work   See how you may have inadvertently used a vision board before   Explore if vision boards are in the Bible   Learn why vision boards have a bad rap in Christian circles   Understand how vision boards can be a powerful tool for believers     Memorable Quotes:  “First of all, a vision board is just a tool. It won’t get the work done for you. You still need to put in the work.”   “The reason why you look at your vision board every day is for your subconscious to act as a heat-seeking missile. So when an opportunity presents itself to you, if it is aligned with what matters to you, you will instinctively target and pursue it.”     “Your vision board should focus on how you want to feel, not just on things that you want.”     “Vision boards without properly directed actions are simply delusion boards.”- Sebastien Richard     “Before you consider making a vision board, it is imperative that you first fix your mindset towards money.”     “If you put “write a book” on your vision board, guess what, meditating, praying, and visualizing won’t make the book write itself - you still have to put in the work.”     “A vision board is only a tool you give yourself to give you a visual target and to stay focused on what God put in your heart.”     Vision board paraphrase of Deuteronomy 8:17-18: “You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my vision board have produced this wealth for me.” But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the desires of your heart which are on your board.”     “There aren’t any Bible passages telling believers to build a vision board. But there are plenty of Bible passages that speak of the importance of having a vision.”     “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” ~ Proverbs 29:18     “Then the LORD answered me and said, “Record the vision and inscribe it on tablets, that the one who reads it may run.” ~ Habakkuk 2:2     “It is unfortunate that many believers have left God’s leading out of it (investigating New Age teachings). Like I’ve said many times, they have thrown the baby out with the bathwater.”     “Ultimately, it’s between you and God. It’s about the dreams He put in your heart. It’s about the Vision He gave you for your life. It’s about you putting things in place to enable you to get there faster and more efficiently.”-Sebastien Richard     Recommended Resources:  Negative Beliefs About Money: http://www.povertyisnovirtue.com/ (http://www.povertyisnovirtue.com/)   Chazown, by Pastor Craig Groeschel: See Book... Kingdom Entrepreneurs need to learn to Focus like Nehemiah If there’s one thing that many Entrepreneurs and Kingdom Expanders struggle with, it’s focus.   One man in the Scriptures had such strong Focus that he became known for it. That man is Nehemiah.   There are three reasons why Nehemiah had a focus of steel set on rebuilding the wall and he did it in RECORD TIME!   The book of Nehemiah is about reestablishing God’s people both physically and spiritually.   In this episode, we’ll focus on chapter 6 and consider how Nehemiah’s legendary focus got a city wall rebuilt, and a whole people back on the right track.   Are you ready, let’s dig deeper!   In This Episode You Will:  Learn the three essential traits that Nehemiah possessed that helped him accomplish what seemed to be an impossible task.   Observe how Nehemiah reacted to his enemies mockings and threats while he was laser focused on his mission.   Find out the subtle ways the devil tries to derail you when you're trying to stay focused on your vision.   Learn how to pray when you know the devil's trying to take you off course.   Memorable Quotes & Verses:  “When Sanballat, Tobiah, Geshem the Arab, and the rest of our enemies heard that I had rebuilt the wall and that there were no more breaks in it—even though I hadn’t yet installed the gates— Sanballat and Geshem sent this message: “Come and meet with us at Kephirim in the valley of Ono.” I knew they were scheming to hurt me so I sent messengers back with this: “I’m doing a great work; I can’t come down. Why should the work come to a standstill just so I can come down to see you?” Four times they sent this message and four times I gave them my answer.”   (Nehemiah 6:1-4, 'The Message version' of The Bible)       “You can always make more money, but you can’t make more time.” - Jim Rohn       We too have to deal with people trying to distract us from our work. Sometimes, like Nehemiah, the distractions can come from an enemy, or The Enemy. Other times, it can come from friends or family - which is more subtle and seductive. -Sebastien Richard     “The wall was finished on the twenty-fifth day of Elul. It had taken fifty-two days. When all our enemies heard the news and all the surrounding nations saw it, our enemies totally lost their nerve. They knew that God was behind this work.”   Nehemiah 6: 15-16 Please SHARE this episode with other believers. This will help other Kingdom Expanders like you, be more productive for God's glory. So, when others around you win, what can you learn from their victories? It’s time to take notes… What did they do that I’m not doing? What did they try that I haven’t tried?”       “85-90% of people give up after failure.”     Jesus is the originator of ‘Miracle Mornings’. In Mark [1:35] we read: “In the early morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went away to a secluded place, and was praying there.”     “Leadership begins with leading yourself, and that implies a lot of alone time.” -Sebastien Richard   Recommended Resources:   Blog Post:  https://www.thrivingonpurpose.com/blog/thou-shalt-not-covet-thy-fellow-entrepreneurs-success/ (https://www.thrivingonpurpose.com/blog/thou-shalt-not-covet-thy-fellow-entrepreneurs-success/)   (https://www.amazon.com/Things-Mentally-Strong-People-Dont/dp/0062358308/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=13+Things+Mentally+Strong+People+Don%E2%80%99t+Do%2C+Amy+Morin&qid=1572285876&sr=8-1)   12 Steps for the Recovering Pharisee(like me): Finding Grace to Live Unmasked (https://www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/product?event=AFF&p=1203735&item_no=22024) By John Fischer Let us know which area you want to improve on in the following months, we'd love to know! Six ways to get past your comfort zone for good   You’ve probably heard the saying, “When the going gets tough, the tough get going.''   This is especially applicable to those of you who attempt something great. Whether it’s writing a book, starting a business, or planting a Church, there will be times when the going will get so tough that will will want to quit and get back to your comfort zone. But is your comfort zone really that much more comfortable… or are you just deluding yourself?   When we depart from what we know to embark on a journey with God into the unknown, it is often done with great enthusiasm despite our initial fear. When God gives us the green light to go in a specific direction, it ignites great fervor in our hearts. Few people lack motivation in the beginning of a great work or project.   However...    As we keep moving forward, that’s when the obstacles and difficulties show up on our path. That’s when we begin having doubts. That’s when we start to think that perhaps this wasn’t such a good idea. And, in the worst case scenario, that’s when some of us begin thinking about doubling back - heading back to our comfort zone.    When our dream or calling becomes very difficult, we look back to our old comfort zone, our Egypt; and we may even miss some of its comforts while forgetting the crack of its whips and the sweat dripping down our brow.    In this episode, we’ll look at 6 things you must do to avoid the trap of longing to your past comfort zone.   In this Episode you Will:   Travel back in time with the Israelite's in the desert and see what was going on in their minds.   Learn what always precedes God’s favor.   Understand how to beat the blues.   Be encouraged to keep going through hard times!   Learn how to get past the longing for your comfort zones   Memorable Quotes:   “When the going gets tough, the tough get going.''     “When the Israelite's were delivered from the hands of the Egyptians, it was done not by the skin of their teeth, but with power, favor, and great glory!”     “When our dream or calling becomes very difficult, we look back to our old comfort zone, our Egypt, and we may even miss some of its comforts while forgetting the crack of its whips and the sweat dripping down our brow.”     “Better the devil you know than the devil you don't.”     “Whether you are pursuing something of value or not, whether you are building a business or not, your life will never be perfect no matter what you do or fail to do.” -Sebastien Richard     “Comfort zones are comfortable because they are familiar, not because they are healthy.”     “Nothing good ever comes from complaining.”     “Stagnation is the breeding ground of depression.” -Sebastien Richard     “If you’re going through hell, keep going.” -Winston Churchill     If you found value listening to our podcast, please share the episode. Reproducing more Kingdom Leaders, not just Christians   In church on Sunday, we are often told to teach our children daily about the Bible and about God. This, for sure, is something every believing parent should do. It is crucial to the spiritual development of our children.    But…   Is it enough to make your children into leaders?   While teaching them about God and Scriptures will make them more solid in their faith and understanding, sadly, it is no guarantee that they will grow strong in their leadership.    Let’s be honest… We’ve all met this type of believer: Christians who are loving, kind, and very deep in their knowledge of the Bible, and yet, who are zero in the areas of boldness, self-confidence, and leadership. These types of believers seem to rely on God, the Bible, and religion more as a crutch than as a source of empowerment.   Today, we’ll address eight key principles that will ensure that won’t be the case with your child. Eight key principles that, if applied, will forge your kids to be the head, and not the tail. Principles that will make your kids more confident, willing, and capable. Principles that will make them into… leaders!   We are often told that great leaders reproduce themselves in others - that they make other great leaders. The best place to start is by implementing strong leadership lessons in your own children and by how you raise them.   No matter your kid’s age, It starts TODAY!   Warning: the steps taught in this podcast episode might stretch you as a parent, which is good - right?   Right.   Be blessed and thrive on!   Elisaberh & Sebastien   In this episode you will:   Learn what the Cycle of Success is and how to encourage your kids through it.   Understand how today’s ‘positive reinforcement only’ parenting is not good for your child.   Learn about the power of saying ‘NO’ to your child.   Understand how to make yourself more relatable to your children by sharing your struggles and failures with them.   Memorable Quotes & Verses:     "Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it." Prov. 22:6     "If you teach your kids a box, they will make their lives a box."     "According to the Word of God, Kingdom citizens are all home-schoolers." - Sebastien Richard     You lose credibility and trustworthiness when you say one thing and do another.     Recommended Resources:   For Parents:   Kingdom Parenting- Myles Munroe (https://amzn.to/2ldviaZ)   Nurturing the Leader Within Your Child: What Every Parent Needs to Know (https://amzn.to/2lOZBVR)     For Kids & Teens:   (https://amzn.to/2khcgAf)   (https://amzn.to/2lOpjty)     .fb_iframe_widget_fluid_desktop iframe { width: 100% !important; } The post Thriving on Purpose (https://www.thrivingonpurpose.com) . Speak 7 Key Declarations Over Your Life (Biblical Christian Affirmations)

Biblical declarations every Christian needs to improve their life  The Bible says in the book of Proverbs [18:21], “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”   Elsewhere we read: “By your words, you will be acquitted, and by your words, you will be condemned." ~ Matthew [12:37]   “From the fruit of their lips, people enjoy good things.” ~ Proverbs 13:2   The words we speak have power – tremendous God-given power! We were made in the image of God and when He speaks, it happens.   In a similar fashion, the words that proceed out of our mouths can come to pass. In the book of James, we are told that “With the tongue, we praise our Lord and Father, and with it, we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing.”   For this reason, we must master our tongue not only to avoid calamity but in order to bring blessings to our own lives and to the lives of others. The best way to bring blessings to our lives is to take the words of God and to let them flow from our own lips. By doing this, we return God’s own Word to Him, and He said, “My word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” ~ Isaiah [55:11]   To this end, here are seven biblical declarations for you to speak out loud. They are made to bless you in all areas of your life. Read them aloud many times a day each, until you ‘eat the fruit thereof’. (Free Resource Included, scroll to the bottom)   In this episode you will:  Learn how the words of your mouth impact your life positively or negatively.   Learn how to declare God's promises over your life and make them come to pass in your own life!   Memorable Quotes:  "We call ourselves believers but what do we really believe in?" - Sebastien Richard   "When we feel silly speaking these promises it's because we are not thinking God's thoughts, we are thinking too small." - Elisabeth Richard     (https://www.thrivingonpurpose.com/free-resources/)           The post Thriving on Purpose (https://www.thrivingonpurpose.com) . God's Kingdom Purpose For Man Series- Part 5 Many have been wanting more understanding about what a Kingdom is, what living in one means, and... what difference does it make to have a King instead of a President or Prime Minister? To answer these questions, and more, we begin a two-part series this week about The 12 Characteristics of the Kingdom of God. Why? Because in order for you to understand how to operate in the Kingdom of God, you need to understand how the Kingdom of God operates. So far, in the "God's Kingdom Purpose for Man" series, we have considered many factors about the Kingdom of God. However, for many, understanding what a Kingdom is and what it entails for them remains blurry. In this week's episode, we will shed some much needed light into defining what a Kingdom is, what it means to have a King, and how we, as citizens, are to operate in His Kingdom. Long Live The King! In This Episode You Will:   Learn what Jesus mean't when He said "Occupy till I come", in the parable of the talents.   Learn the difference between a Kingdom and your native country.   Learn the difference between a King, and a President or Prime Minister.   Understand what it mean't when Jesus said " You have to be born again ".   Learn how every Kingdom citizen has rights and privileges.   Memorable Quotes and Verses:     In order for you to understand how to operate in The Kingdom of God, you need to understand How The Kingdom of God operates. -Sebastien Richard     The Kingdom of God, His influence, His rulership, has now been restored within the hearts and lives of men who are serving the King to this day. And these men and women take back territory from the enemy, for the King, everyday by doing and fulfilling God’s will.     “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” - Hosea 4:6     “Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”    - John [18:37]     “These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.” - Revelation [17:14]     “The heavens are Yours, the earth also is Yours; The world and all it contains, You have founded them.” - Psalm [89:11]     How the citizens of a Kingdom behave reflects on the goodness and character of the King. It makes a kingdom’s glory shine before other people and other nations.     We, in the same way, are citizens of the Kingdom of God by birth. We were born into the Kingdom of God at our New Birth.      Recommended Resource: (https://www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/product?event=AFF&p=1203735&item_no=432114) Rediscovering the Kingdom, Expanded Edition: Ancient Hope for Our 21st Century World (https://www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/product?event=AFF&p=1203735&item_no=432114) By Myles Munroe Guiding you through the turbulent economic and political times of the 21st century, Munroe explores why power is the pursuit of all humankind; ways to make the kingdom function in your life; why religion can't solve your problems; how governments will continue to fail us; and more. God is good ... all the time! God is good... all the time! We say it, all the time, but do we really mean it?   Yes, God is good, most definitely, and in this 4th episode of God's Kingdom Purpose for Man, we'll prove it!   How?   We'll dig deep into how the problems of life, pain, and suffering do not originate with God or His will for us.   We'll also examine how our false beliefs, corrupt understanding, and lack of faith have lead us into believing lies about our good good Father in Heaven.   In the end, you will understand (and hopefully believe) that you cannot have what heaven has unless you think like heaven thinks.   So, you wanna move mountains? Sure you do. Who wouldn't?   But, the Bible says you need mustard seed-size faith to do so. And for that, you need to really believe that... God is good, all the time.   It all starts here!   P.S.: If you haven't listened to the first episode of this Epic teaching series about God's Kingdom Purpose for Man, you'll want to start here: Episode 31 (e31-gods-kingdom-purpose-for-man-dominion/)   In This Episode You Will:   Learn how corrupt thinking and misguided notions about God are not just traits of atheists or unbelievers.   Understand how you cannot have mustard seed faith unless you renew your mind first.   Learn what (and who) the three culprits of suffering in the world are.   Get a renewed appreciation of your Heavenly Father as a good, good, Father.   Give your faith a much-needed reboot into Kingdom 2.0.     Memorable Quotes:   "As believers, we are called to a renewing of our minds which will lead us into transformation." -Sebastien Richard   "When we fail to move mountains in our own lives, it is not because God has failed us, it is because we have failed God… though our own lack of faith."   "Only right thinking can bring right believing. And only right believing can make us say to mountains: 'move out of the way'."   "The belief that God causes or allows all the suffering in world has made hundreds of thousand of atheists and agnostics." -Sebastien Richard   "The responsibility for pain, suffering, and death in the earth is not the will of God or the results of God’s actions."   "Before we point accusing fingers towards people like Bart Ehrman or even Richard Dawkins the atheist for defective thinking, let’s consider our own thinking towards God - as believers."   "We, as believers exercise perverse thinking all the time - we just don’t know it. We disguise it as being ‘spiritual’ or humble."   "We cannot have what heaven has, unless we think like heaven thinks." -Sebastien Richard   We have made the grave theological mistake of equating the sovereignty of God and everything happening in the earth realm as being ‘His Will.’   "God doesn’t will the ill in your life." -Sebastien Richard   "We must always keep the Bible in context unless we are guilty of assigning things to God which are not true."   “If it be your will.” We think ourselves spiritual when we pray that way. However, we are only being faithless in the Father’s goodness.   "A mustard seed is all you need." - Sebastien Richard   "How can we expect anything good if we are not fully convinced of His goodness?"   "How can you possibly receive from God any good thing, if you do not really believe it is His will to give you good things?"   "It all starts with understanding that God really is good. Change this in your life, change this in your thinking, and right away, your life will change. Do not be conformed, but be transformed!"   “For I know the... Support this podcast

The misunderstood Gospel of Jesus-Christ In part part three of the"God's Kingdom Purpose for Man" teaching series, we dive deep into the "Gospel of the Kingdom" that our Lord was so consumed by in the synoptic gospels. If you haven't listened to the 1st Episode of this series, it is crucial you start there: Episode 31 (https://www.thrivingonpurpose.com/e31-gods-kingdom-purpose-for-man-dominion/)   The word "Gospel" means "Good News". And yet, the gospel of Jesus Christ is one of the most misunderstood teachings within today's Church.   So, what was "The Good News" according to Jesus? Your understanding of the "Good News" will be revolutionized and will send you on your way full of joy, empowerment, and expectation.   Because, after all, this is what good news is supposed to do. In This Episode You Will:   Find out what Jesus said His purpose was Discover what Jesus' mission statement was Learn how the "traditions of men" have corrupted the full Gospel of Jesus-Christ Find out how the devil has kept us sidetracked for centuries Discover the 4 main components of the Gospel of the Kingdom Understand the full power and authority that was given to you after Jesus came   Memorable Quotes & Bible Verses:   "There is nothing more scary to Satan than a believer who knows his authority." - Sebastien Richard   The definition of purpose: The reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.   "People who know God and their specific purpose, you will notice, are the ones who are the light of the world. The others live in utter darkness." - Sebastien Richard   "Christianity is the greatest religion in the world, but it is such a shame that its never been lived out."   From that time on Jesus began to preach, "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven has come near." - Matthew [4:17]   "At daybreak, Jesus went out to a solitary place. The people were looking for him and when they came to where he was, they tried to keep him from leaving them. But he said, " I must proclaim the good news of the Kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent." And he kept on preaching in the synagogues of Judea." - Luke [4:42]-44   After John was put in prison, Jesus went to Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. "The time has come," he said. "The kingdom of God has come near. repent and believe the good news!" - Mark [1:14]-15   As a side note, it seems to me a scary prospect that since the Church isn't busy preaching " The good news of the Kingdom", we might this way be postponing His second coming. -Sebastien Richard   "Our problem is that we spend so much time telling people how to get into the Kingdom that we rarely teach them what to do once they get inside." - Myles Munroe   " It will be done to you according to your faith (Matthew 9:29). If you do not believe the word of God concerning what you were given through the Holy Spirit, you will not experience it." - Sebastien Richard     Resources Mentionned: (https://www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/product?event=AFF&p=1203735&item_no=432114) Rediscovering the Kingdom, Expanded Edition: Ancient Hope for Our 21st Century World (https://www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/product?event=AFF&p=1203735&item_no=432114) By Myles Munroe Guiding you through the turbulent economic and political times of the 21st century, Munroe explores why power is the pursuit of all humankind; ways to make the kingdom function in your life; why religion can't solve your problems; how governments will continue to fail us; and more. The fall of man and the covenants of God The Kingdom of God was the most prevalent teaching of Jesus during His earthly ministry, even after His resurrection.   So, what does this all mean for today's believer? What does it entail... for YOU? In this second episode of the 'God's Kingdom Purpose for Man' series, we'll continue laying a knowledge foundation by addressing the implications of the fall of man and the subsequent covenants of God.   You'll see that God was not only prepared in case man fell, but you'll also get a much clearer understanding of what lengths He went through to rescue us from ourselves. And, if you haven't listened to episode 31 yet, make sure you listen to it before listening to this one. You will Learn:   How man lost his dominion on the earth How man inherited a sinful state from birth How death, suffering and sickness came into the earth realm How painful toil and sweat became our lot All of creation fell along with man How man kicked God out and gave control to Satan How God’s mercy and grace became a necessity for fallen man God's process of Re-Entry Learn the different types of covenants God put into place   Memorable Quotes and Bible Verses:     "Understanding the fall of man, builds the foundation to understanding God's Kingdom here on earth and what we lost, when we lost our Dominion." -Sebastien Richard   Then the man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.” - Genesis 3:12 (NKJV)   Then to Adam He said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’: “Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it All the days of your life. 18 Both thorns and thistles it shall [ a (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=genesis+3%3A17-19&version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-74a) ]bring forth for you, And you shall eat the herb of the field. 19 In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return.” -Genesis [3:17]-19     "Under this broken system, only very few are actually able to do enough, run fast enough, gather enough, and make enough money to get ahead." -Sebastien Richard     Living as citizens of The Kingdom of God and knowing what this actually means, is the only way to be freed from the present earth curse system of painful toil and sweat. -Sebastien Richard     “For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.” Romans [8:19]     “We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved.” Romans 8:22-24 (NIV)     “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.” So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life. Genesis [3:22]-23 (NIV)     “Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned.” Romans [5:12] (NIV).     "God found Himself on the outside looking in… fully capable to intervene, but bound by... Our earthly dominion mandateHave you ever wondered what was the most central teaching of Jesus during His earthly ministry?     Was it about loving one another? Was it about forgiving others? Was it about the Great Commission? Was it about being born again?   Believe it or not, it’s none of the above. And yet, these are some of the most common lessons we are taught in the church today!   So, what was it? What was Jesus’ main teaching?   The most central, repetitive, insistent, and prevalent teaching of Jesus in the Gospels, by far, was about… THE KINGDOM OF GOD  In Luke [4:43], Jesus said:“I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns as well; for I was sent for this purpose.”  So, this 31st episode begins a crucial series that will definitely make you Dig Deeper to Climb Higher. In this episode, and all throughout the series, we will shed some much needed light on Jesus' central teaching and ‘purpose for which He was sent’: The Kingdom of God.     You will understand how being a citizen of God's Kingdom is not only an amazing privilege, but a responsibility, and an unfathomable empowerment for you!     After we're done with this series, you will be done with feelings of powerlessness or defeat - guaranteed!     So, grab your Bible, put on your thinking cap, grab a pen and paper, and buckle-up, because how you read and understand the Scriptures is about to get a serious overhaul... and that can be a good thing... or better yet, a God thing!   In This Episode You Will:  Learn a bold prayer that will enable you to uncover the hidden truths of God.     Understand how religion, traditions, doctrines, and dogma can keep you in bondage.     Get a clear picture of what man’s earthly dominion entails.     Hear our own testimony of how much we had to unlearn before we could receive more from God.     Be blown away when you learn what limits God’s own sovereignty!     Memorable Quotes:    “The greatest danger in spiritual adolescence is to have a little knowledge, and not know it is a little knowledge.”     “Ignorance is like knowledge, it has no limits.”     “Many of us have been ensnared by religious teachings and bound by dogma. And these teachings are keeping us not only in the dark… but enslaved and fruitless as a result.”       “You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men.” - Mark 7:8     “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge;” - Hosea 4:6     “Much of the plight of believers today comes from a misunderstanding not only of His Word, but also of how His Kingdom operates, of who they are in it, and how they should operate in it.”- Sebastien Richard     “The main message He came to teach was about a gospel, which means ‘Good News’. But not just any good news or gospel… the Gospel of the Kingdom of God.”     “The mission of Jesus was to establish God’s Kingdom on earth in the hearts of men.” ~ Myles Munroe     “Since it was evidently so important to Jesus to teach about the Kingdom, one question remains… Why are we seldom taught about the Kingdom in Church?”     “If The Kingdom of God was Jesus’ main teaching, shouldn’t it be ours as well?”     “I urge you to verify and test what I will say today. Don’t just gobble it up - but seek it out for yourselves. Get confirmation from God on all matters.”     “The disciples said to Jesus, "Tell us how our end will be." New Year Resolutions vs. New Life Resolutions Three hundred years ago, Jonathan Edwards penned his life's resolutions.   These have stood the test of time and proven to be far superior to the New Year's resolutions that most of us make today.   In all, he wrote 70 life resolutions - all of which could transform anyone's life today if they were to apply them.   The proof is in the pudding: Jonathan Edwards' life legacy still stands as proof positive of the immense impact he had on religion, philosophy, academia, and even politics.   In this episode, find out how New Life's resolutions will always trump New Year's resolutions, and how, like Jonathan Edwards, you can make them too and leave a legacy of your own.   We will NOT go through ALL 70. We chose 15 of his Resolutions to talk about in this episode.   However, we did prepare your very own PDF of Jonathan Edwards' Resolutions below which do include all 70!  In an English we can all understand Scroll to the bottom of the page.   Happy New Year!   Elisabeth & Sebastien Richard    In This Episode You Will:   Learn why New Year's resolutions usually fail... with stats to back it up.   Learn who Jonathan Edwards was and the legacy he left.   Get the goods on fifteen hand-picked resolutions that can transform your life.   Understand how, as a believer, inward resolutions will yield a much better crop in your life than outward ones.   Be encouraged to start this year strong! Memorable Quotes:   "If you are fully sold out to God, He will take your weaknesses and work them into strengths."- S.Richard   “If you don’t go within, you will go without.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson   Our wish and prayer for you on this New Year is that you would “prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” ~ 3 John 2   “God’s purpose for my life was that I have a passion for God’s glory and that I have a passion for my joy in that glory, and that these two are one passion.” - Jonathan Edwards   "When we work on our character instead, these other resolutions (like lose weight, or quit smoking, or make friends) usually take care of themselves."   "A strong moral character, seasoned with the pursuit of God, will enable you to accomplish so much more every year than anything that is done outwardly in your own strength as a New Year’s resolution."- S.Richard   "And this goes very well with the values we espouse here at Thriving on Purpose, which are best summed up by our tagline of "Digging Deeper to Climb Higher. "   "As I read though Edwards’ resolutions, I realized that any one of those is not only a challenge, but would actually contribute a great deal to building up Godly character."   "Did you make an outward resolution or are you inwardly RESOLVED? The choice is yours and so will be the results."     Recommended Resources:   Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God:  Click Here! Attraction Marketing Begins With... Before I (Sebastien) became an entrepreneur, I used to think that an Avatar was a James Cameron movie about giant blue creatures in a movie by the same name. Thankfully, I know better now. Nevertheless, many entrepreneurs do not. Did you know that most business owners do not know how to identify their target market? While some of it is their own fault, we could also blame the types of philosophies we are generally taught in business. The biggest mistake entrepreneurs make is in thinking they can market or sell their product or service to just anybody. That just isn't the case. In this week's episode, we'll talk about how important it is to know who you are and what you're about in order to identify your ideal customer - your avatar. As you will see, there is no such thing as over-targeting. We'll also get into some powerful yet counter intuitive ideas, such as: The people you repel are just as important as the people you attract. We prove, from the life of Jesus Himself, just how true that is! So, if you think an avatar is a big blue giant creature from a James Cameron movie, you definitely need to listen to this week's episode! If you're a Home Business owner, Online Business Owner or Network Marketer, you'll get tons of value out of this episode Stop wasting your money on Ads that target a broad audience and let's get specific! Lessons from the life of JobYou've probably heard more than once that God has a wonderful plan for your life, right?   But have you ever heard that the Devil also has a plan for your life?   It's true.   As a Christian Entrepreneur, you are on the Devil's hit list. Satan has targeted you in order to neutralize you, your business, and your effectiveness for God's kingdom.   Using the story of Job, as well as our own experiences, this episode will teach you how the enemy proceeds to neutralize you - and, if possible, destroy you.   This will not only give you solid scriptural knowledge, but it will also equip you by strengthening your faith, and teach you how you can fight back and endure.   As you will see, the devil may be a roaring lion, but with God in charge, you're far from being a sitting duck!   In This Episode You Will:  Learn why Christian Entrepreneurs, like you, are Satan's favorite prey. Learn how Satan operates right before he strikes. Get powerful insight on what it means when Jesus says "Satan asked to sift you all as wheat". Understand how God allows these attacks on your life to better equip you, sanctify you, and ultimately bless you.   Memorable Quotes:  "Satan’s main goal is to keep believers fruitless and ineffective for God’s kingdom."   "Satan rarely attacks you for what you are now. He most often attacks you for what you might become."   "Looking back, I now know the enemy was behind much of these attacks on my mind because he wanted me out of the picture permanently. He most probably knew where I was going to be later – today. In hindsight, I totally understand why he wanted me dead." - Sebastien Richard   “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.” (John [10:10])   "It is safe to say, that perhaps aside from the Lord Jesus Christ, Job’s suffering was one of the worse in all of history."   "One aspect of Job that is seldom taught is that he, like you, like us, was an entrepreneur. He was a very godly and successful entrepreneur."   "The devil wants to attack those with impact. He will not waste his time or resources on anyone who does not now, or will not in the future, have an impact."   "Whenever you are hungry, angry, lonely, or tired… be cautious, you are most probably being watched and targeted too! This makes you vulnerable."   "Your fear of God is what will keep that hedge of protection strong around you."   We can almost sense Satan’s frustration when he utters these words to God: “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land.”   “You believe that there is one God. You do well. Learn what can thwart the efficiency of The Law of Attraction in people's lives. Understand the four universal rules which govern The Law of Attraction. Understand the greater purpose of the believer in applying The Law of Attraction.   Memorable Quotes: "God loves you, the Bible tells you so, but the universe doesn’t give a crap about you."   "Solomon said there is nothing new under the sun, and even if they call themselves the New Age, there is nothing new in their beliefs."   "While those who attend the Church of Oprah and Chopra DO have faith, it’s not in the God of the Bible."   "Believers are NOT to be reservoirs who accumulate knowledge, wisdom, and wealth. No. We are to be conduits through which abundance flows through. We are to be rivers through which the Holy Spirit of God will enable us to freely give because freely we have received."   "When we benefit through the law of attraction, it is made possible solely through HIS power, universal providence, and universal grace."   "In the word ‘Attraction’ we have the word action. I have noticed something crucial about the law of attraction: It will not change your life without action."   “Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” (James [1:22])   "Fear has two meanings: Forget Everything And Run OR Face Everything And Rise. They both spell F.E.A.R."   "So, all in all, the biggest mistake Law of Attraction teachers and practitioners make has to do with EGO: Edging God Out – spells EGO."   "As a believer, when you apply the law of attraction, it should bring you to boldly ‘stir up the gift which is in you’ through action, without fear."   "Action gives traction to the law of attraction." - Sebastien Richard   “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is.” - Albert Einstein   "Believe BIG. Start small."   "For the believer, love is not a feeling, it is an attitude and an action – charity implies that."   “When you walk in love, you do not sin.”   "Charity is where the rubber meets the road for the believer."   Love looks at faith and say: “Get up and walk.”   “Out of 100 men, one will read the Bible, the other 99 will read the Christian.” - Dwight L. The 4 Key Questions that Will Unlock Your Destiny  This week’s Thriving on Purpose Podcast Episode is going to be about this most important question: How to Find Your Purpose.   Of course, with a name like Thriving on Purpose, this was not only inevitable but also necessary for us to address.   Many, many entrepreneurs, even many of whom are very successful often ask this very question…   How do I find my purpose?Sometimes, it shocks us. Why? Because the question may come from those who seem to have it all together. We don’t usually hear this question from the aimless and jobless, but rather from those who are already very successful in one lane or another; hence the importance it has for serious entrepreneurs.   As we will explore together, there are four simple questions you can ask yourself that have the potential to lead you into your destiny.   These questions (or steps if you prefer) have been talked about, written about, even philosophized about. The greatest thought-leaders on the planet have addressed how to find your purpose time and again; and these four questions are almost always at the center of the discussion.   Those who dared to ask themselves those questions, and answered them honestly, are those who are Thriving on Purpose. It is our hope that you will do the same after this important episode.   Remember, you can only reach the T.O.P. of the mountain God has set before you if you are Thriving on Purpose!   In this Episode You Will: Learn what your purpose isn't, as we debunk some myths concerning Christians and Purpose. Understand the crucial difference between your skills and your gifts. Learn how to find your 'Sweet Spot'. Ask yourself Four Key Questions that will unlock your destiny!   Memorable Quotes:  Definition: "pur·pose,ˈpərpəs/, noun 1- the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists."   "You can be successfully wrong." - T.D. Jakes   "Preach the gospel at all times, and if necessary, use words."   "Your life is God's gift to you. What you do with it is your gift to God."   "We are human beings, not human doings."   "Your greatest misery may lead to your greatest ministry."   "Your purpose isn’t to go to school, get a good job, and pay bills for the rest of your life."   "Most people find their purpose in their thirties or forties… and not in their teens. And especially not at their job."   "Your conversion was only the beginning of your answering the call of God on your life."       "A strength is something you do that you are very gifted at and that comes easily to you."   For the believer, there are two categories of strengths…1- Your natural talents and abilities (those you were born with) 2- Your spiritual gifts (those you were born again with)"     "The praise and requests of others is the most potent way to confirm one’s potential calling or purpose."   "God wants nothing more for you than to discover and embrace your calling. How personal growth complements your faith  If you've been in Church for a while or your whole life, you were probably exhorted to grow in your relationship with God through Bible reading, prayer, and fellowship with other believers. While this is an excellent way to grow your faith and establish a good relationship with God, it can lead to some disillusionment and frustration for the Christian Entrepreneur.   We are spiritual beings, housed in a flesh body, made in the image of God, who have work to accomplish here on earth. That said, we need to understand that to accomplish the best work possible, we need to become all that we can be. And for that, we need more than just spiritual growth - we need personal growth. As Christian Entrepreneurs, we need to come to terms with this fact - or fail, and blame God in the process.   Download the provided show resource to get The 12 Reasons Why Christians Need Spiritual Growth     In This Episode You Will:  Learn the three biggest excuses Christians give as to why they cop out of personal development.   Understand the difference between spiritual and personal growth.   Grasp how both spiritual growth, and personal growth are two sides of the same coin, or two wings of the same bird... and will help you take flight!   Learn what it means to be a balanced Christian.       Memorable Quotes:  “Some wait on the Lord because they find it’s easier than girding themselves and getting to work.”   "The main problem is that instead of the fear of God, many Christians have developed the fear of false doctrine."   Secular just means non-religious… not Anti-Christ. There is a difference. So, discernment and balance are required here.   "Visit many good books, but live in the Bible."- Charles Spurgeon   "Those who believe they already have all the answers stop growing."   “The greatest danger in having a little knowledge is not knowing that it is just that; a little knowledge.”   "Too often, we act like the Pharisees who had all the answers and say, ‘We see.’"   "As Christians, we are part of two realms: Heaven (our retirement), and Earth (our place of work)."   "Some people are so heavenly minded that they are no earthly good." - Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr.   "Spiritual growth establishes your solid foundation in Christ. Personal growth determines how high your edifice will rise." - Sebastien Richard       Starting your Personal Growth Journey?  Great! We have a great resource waiting for you! Which Qualities Set Leaders Apart from the Herd?  Leadership is a strange animal. Although leadership experts can agree on what makes for good leadership in the larger sense, the number of characteristics deemed as necessary for it can vary greatly.   So, depending on how general or detailed you choose to analyze leadership, the numbers will vary. That’s because leadership defies a permanent and static definition – it cannot be boxed. It’s always recognized by people when they witness it, but the varying styles of influences which makes it up can make it hard to pin down. It’s a bit like trying to predict the weather. There are ways to do it, but it sure isn’t an exact science. Leadership is, in a way, quite intangible.   Nevertheless, there are some characteristics that cannot be overlooked and that defy time, cultures, trends, and situations. So, in this episode of The Thriving on Purpose Podcast, we discuss:     People Skills Smarts Vision Character Adaptability Focus “IT” Factor   In this Episode You Will:-Learn what separates leaders from followers -Get a clear picture of what constitutes strong leadership -Get a better grasp of what is required in order to positively influence others -Be equipped with the knowledge to build a strong leadership  foundation     Memorable Quotes:  “Emotional (smarts) is rarer than book smarts, but my experience says it is actually more important in the making of a leader.” – Jack Welsh   "I.Q. get you hired… E.Q. gets you promoted."   “Competence goes beyond words. It’s the leader’s ability to say it, plan it, and do it in such a way that others know that you know how – and know that they want to follow you.” – John C. Maxwell   "Common sense isn’t so common."   Good business leaders create a vision, articulate the vision, passionately own the vision, and relentlessly drive it to completion.” ― Jack Welch   “Character is doing the right thing, even when no one is looking.”   “Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.” – John Wooden  "Adaptability is being able to adjust to any situation at any given time.” – John Wooden   "Charisma gets you in the room, but character keeps you there.”     Resources:  The seven characteristics listed in the podcast were taken from: Lead Like a Superhero, by Sebastien Richard (https://www.thrivingonpurpose.com/lead-like-a-superhero/)   You Might Also Like: The 21 Indispensable Qualities of a Leader, by John C. A little about our guests. Sebastien and Elisabeth are foodies who enjoy trying new recipes, new restaurants, and new wines. They have been married 16 years, have three children and have been in business together for nearly two years. Sebastien is actually a bit of an introvert, although he is very comfortable speaking on stage. He enjoys reading, reading, and reading as well as movies and comic books (which involves reading.) Elisabeth enjoys cooking, gardening, and coastal décor – using beautiful seashells and other natural objects from around their home on Prince Edward Island. A little about their business. Both Sebastien and Elisabeth have studied spirituality. It was this desire to go back to his lay preacher/teaching roots that got Sebastien started on becoming a John Maxwell Team Certified Speaker. While immersed in his own studies, Elisabeth attended events with Sebastien and also began studying John Maxwell. Together, Sebastien and Elisabeth developed a coaching and leadership training practice.
