Shawn Moninger @ Unity Center of Norwalk CT (4/23/23) You can see this talk and others on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/c/UnityCenterNorwalk Living From the Super-consciousness "We Can't Just Talk About It " Hey Unity, It's easy to quote spiritual teachers. We can spout off on all of the spiritual wisdom we have heard. We can forward wise articles from spiritual leaders that we admire. That will not make us spiritual or spirit-filled. As David Friedman writes in his song “We Can Be Kind”, “It's not enough to talk about it. It's not enough to sing a song. We must walk the walk about it…” We must put our spirituality into practice. We must put feet to our beliefs and be the example of what we think we believe. We must, we must, we must. We cannot actually believe in our spiritual principles if we are not proving them true all of the time. It's not enough for me if you are having healings and extraordinary things happening. I must also be having healings, spiritual, mental and physical in order to KNOW that what we speak of is true and accurate. It's wonderful to witness what we call miracles, but unless I'm also experiencing them, I think miracles are only for other people. I need to be able to share my own experience with healing in all of its many forms in order to testify of the power of the Invisible. So, before you share someone else's wisdom, look for your own. It will be much more powerful. We can't just talk about spirit, we must be spirit in action. Please don't ever decide that “This is the only way to think about it.” All the Best for Today, Rev. Shawn If you think I can help you to get greater clarity, by all means reach out. 203-855-7922 or RevMrShawn@gmail.com

B. Lorraine Smith is a writer, speaker, corporate mischievist, and generally curious student of life. She changes minds (most often her own), casting a dubious eye on the line between work and play. She holds a vision of a future where all industry is a force for healing and any exceptions compost themselves into history. She has been working towards this vision with global companies since 2004, bringing together activists, executives and thought-leaders. she shares what she finds as she goes along, telling as much truth as she can figure out how to spell. (Or, in the case of Matereality, how to respell.)Originally from Toronto, Canada, she spent a decade based in New York City and recently relocated to Montreal, all the better to explore the banks of the St. Lawrence River (whom she calls Lia). She runs ultra-long distances on urban trails, spins and knits her own original designs, and holds doggedly to the belief that our senses of connectedness and curiosity are our best assets. She is an independent consultant whose purpose is to contribute to the shift to a regenerative economy, one where society thrives within a healthy biosphere. Her areas of expertise inform each other – as a writer, consultant, ultramarathoner, textile artisan and sojourner. She describes her approach as “spore-based,” taking a cue from nature about how to evolve and spread important ideas. Lorraine has consulted for leading change-agents and large companies, informing strategy and stakeholder dialogue to shift us to a regenerative economy. She is also a frequent speaker at conferences on sustainability and corporate innovation. She speaks fluent French and Portuguese, as well as conversational German and Spanish. Originally from Toronto, Canada, Lorraine has lived in Australia, Brazil, Germany, New Zealand and New York City. She currently calls Montréal home.In this episode, following on from our conversation with Jennifer Hinton 2 episodes ago, we delve deeply into the concepts that underpin Lorraine's idea of 'Matereality' - what it is, and how her experience as a 'sustainability consultant' to some of the world's largest companies has led her to a new way of assessing the impact a business actually has on the planet and people it is, in theory, designed to serve. What would the world be like if corporations actually decided to benefit people and planet? Actually. Not their share holders or the vulture capitalists? With grace, humility and endless humour, Lorraine describes her journey and her conclusions of how we could re-shape the business world in time to change the trajectory towards global melt-down. This is an episode full of ideas at the corporate level, that we can nonetheless bring into our own lives. We all live in the corporate world. Even if we don't talk at C-Suite level, we are the glue that holds everything together - and we can change the ways we interact with the corporate Masters of the Universe. Ep. 21 (Part 2 of 2) | Steve McIntosh, philosopher, author of the groundbreaking book Developmental Politics, and co-founder of the Institute for Cultural Evolution, outlines an extraordinary framework to make sense of our political conflicts—extraordinary in that it points to ways through and out of our persistent polarity consciousness. Steve convincingly argues our opportunity is right now: to create a synthesis, a cooperative agreement space, that transcends and includes thesis and antithesis, left and right, individual and community. Steve's is a passionate and prophetic voice; there is hope for politics. With vertical development we can recover a common sense of truth, a common sense of goodness—transcendent ideals could become social norms. Steve ends with an invitation to listeners to investigate this new concept of cultural intelligence and the implications of the new truth: consciousness and culture co-evolve. This suffering emerges in crippling self-judgments and conflicts in our relationships, in addictions and perfectionism, in loneliness and overwork—all the forces that keep our lives constricted and unfulfilled. Radical Acceptance offers a path to freedom, including the day-to-day practical guidance developed over Dr. Brach's twenty years of work with therapy clients and Buddhist students.Writing with great warmth and clarity, Tara Brach brings her teachings alive through personal stories and case histories, fresh interpretations of Buddhist tales and guided meditations. Step by step, she shows how we can stop being at war with ourselves and begin to live fully every precious moment of our lives.Center for Spiritual Living, Santa Rosa
A World that Works for Everyone with Marc Allen In this episode, I have the pleasure of interviewing Author and Co-Founder/CEO of New World Library, Marc Allen. This interview was recorded several weeks ago, but the theme resonates just as authentically today: we are here to love, look out for, and serve each other. We touch on what it means to be in business as an owner in alignment with purpose, creativity and flow, and how that extends to employees of every level in the company, allowing them to not only to feel valued and heard, but to think like an owner through the model of profit-sharing (and how models such as these can lead to a future of enlightened capitalism over blind capitalism). Marc takes us on a journey in how to bring real magic into all areas of our lives through a series of exercises featured in his book, The Magical Path, and treats us to a short, grounding, guided meditation. Learn how looking after our spiritual, mental and emotional wellness is essential to living the life of our dreams and gives us the capacity to envision and take steps towards creating a world that works for everyone. Marc Allen is an internationally renowned seminar leader, entrepreneur, author, and composer. He co-founded New World Library (with Shakti Gawain) in 1977 and has guided the company, as president and publisher, from a small start-up to its current position as a major player in the independent publishing world. He has written several books, including The Magical Path, The Greatest Secret of All, The Millionaire Course, Visionary Business, and others. As a gifted speaker and seminar leader, Marc works with people around the globe to craft lives of lasting abundance and prosperity. His online programs include The Magical Path, Success with Ease, Visionary Business, The Power of the Feminine, and How to Get Happily Published. Shariff Abdullah – COVID-19 Crisis and OpportunityCaterpillar’s Last Stand, and How We Connect the Emerging “Imaginal Cells”Aired Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 2:00 PM PST / 5:00 PM ESTAn Interview with Author and Activist Shariff Abdullah“Compared to downheaval, upheaval is the lesser of two heavals.” — Swami BeyondanandaAs more of us have come to recognize, fear – and the fight or flight response – puts us in our hindbrain, where we are hard-wired for survival. This is essential for the short term, but what about the bigger picture?Transformative ideas and evolutionary solutions, and out-of-the-box creativity come from our forebrain. In times of crisis and upheaval, the urgency of the shituation gets our attention. And … it’s the creative part of ourselves that must give us the INTENTION.Our guest this week, Shariff Abdullah, has cultivated the ability to hold two ideas simultaneously – the ideal and the real deal – and use the dynamic tension between the two to help us get from the urgent crisis to the emergent opportunity. He uses the same analogy Bruce Lipton and I use in “Spontaneous Evolution” – the metamorphosis from caterpillar to butterfly – to characterize our current predicament.More intriguing – maybe trying to get from “here to there” keeps us crawling like a caterpillar along the same linear pathways that got us where we are. Instead says Shariff, we need to work backward from “butterfly” so that we figure out how to get from THERE to HERE.Shariff Abdullah, J.D., is a consultant, speaker, author and advocate for societal transformation. His mission is to bring currently dysfunctional systems and structures into alignment with our common human and spiritual values, to create a world that works for all living things. Shariff consults with people and organizations on the leading edge of change, including government agencies, businesses and social service organizations. As Director of Commonway Institute, he has visited over 43 countries and over 100 distinct cultures, giving him a unique perspective on our global human and spiritual issues, and a vision that spans culture and class. He has proven experience in working with all peoples and in many different situations, bringing harmony in conditions of actual or potential conflict and discord. His books on leadership and societal change include the award-winning Creating a World That Works for All, and Seven Seeds for a New Society. He also will be talking about his latest work, The Chronicles of the Upheavals, a fictional book that does indeed track us back from there to here.If you’re ready to shift your perspective from fear-based emergency to love-based “emerge ‘n see”, join us this Tuesday, May 26th 2-3 pm PT / 5-6 pm ET. http://omtimes.com/iom/shows/wiki-politiki-radio-show/To find out more about Shariff Abdullah and the Commonway Institute, please go here: https://commonway.org/Visit the Wiki Politiki Show page https://omtimes.com/iom/shows/wiki-politiki-radio-show/Connect with Steve Bhaerman at https://wakeuplaughing.com/#ShariffAbdullah #COVID-19Crisis #COVID-19 #SteveBhaerman #WikiPolitiki

This week's show is with the wonderful Bill Cumming and Grace M Smith. Bill is a thirty-year coaching veteran and Director of The Boothby Institute. He has been a coach, consultant and trainer to CEOs and the executive teams of health care delivery organizations, businesses, school systems and non-profit organizations. He is a key partner in the New Horizons Academy. This is the third time Bill's been on this show, he is an incredibly inspiring man and if you haven't listened to the previous ones then I so recommend you do so! Grace is Creative Director of The Boothby Institute and Program Designer for A World that works for everyone. Today we're talking about the amazing work Bill and Grace are doing to help create a world which works for everyone, how they define the being and doing of that work, and how you can be part of the movement too. We'd love to know what YOU think about this week's show. Let's carry on the conversation… please leave a comment below. What you'll learn from this episode: There's the being and the doing of creating a world that works for everyone. The being is about treating people with dignity, respect and loving kindness - the more we come from that grounding of wellbeing, the more we create from that place and the more that feeling spreads The doing is to stop operating in silos and acting like any one of has the answer - we need to start listening to the solutions that people have created and are creating all over the world. It's then about how we - Bill, Grace, the people they work with and me and you - collaborate and put those answers into action. How we can all be that change.
From God all peace flows, and returns. Even the darkest journey can end in peace. There are many defining moments in our lives, but we are free to choose our reaction to them. To use them to create something better.

But we seem to be struggling to move beyond our hard-wired reactions of polarity, conflict and war – even if our new weapon of choice is a keyboard.Hence the review of NVC. Here’s a way of lifting our relationships from the battlefield and into a more idealistic and experimental laboratory; ultimately into respect, love and compassion. In Oxford, UK, on a hot Spring day in 2008, I attended my first NVC workshop with renowned trainer and exponent Bridget Belgrave. In her enobling environment, a sign greeted us that asked: “Would you like to... • Be honest without insulting people • Be heard to your complete satisfaction • Handle conflict with consequence • Transform anger into positive communication • Never hear blame or criticism again • Inspire willing cooperation • Deepen good relationships • Enjoy people"Who wouldn’t want any, or all, of those blessings in their lives? So what follows is my conversation with Bridget, after the workshop, about Non-violent Communication, where I begin by attempting to put some NVC principles into practice.Later in the interview I ask Bridget a BIG question: Is there a massive mis-match between what people are feeling and needing, and what our society gives them? For that matter, are YOUR needs being met by the ‘common agreements’ of how our world operates in that curious and increasingly, ill-fitting place known as ‘normality’? If they’re not, if you feel like the proverbial ‘square peg’ you may wish to keep listening...Find out more about Bridget here: http://www.nvcdancefloors.com/More general information about NVC here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nonviolent_CommunicationI finish with something my aforementioned friend Hilary said when I interviewed her about Nonviolent Communication: “We have a tremendous power in our world to think before we speak,” she said. “And to know that there is another way of doing it,” she added.Stay tuned for more ‘other ways’, here, on radio for a world that works...Diagram: William Huston - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nonviolent_Communication#/media/File:The_Inner_World_of_OFNR_(NVC).png

Aired Tuesday, 17 July 2018, 5:00 PM ESTCommon Ground in the Age of Trump – From Resistance to Pro-activismA Conversation with Author and Activist Shariff Abdullah“There are no sides, only angles. And when we see it from the right angle, we are all on the same side.” — Swami BeyondanandaAt a time when resistance seems “irresistible” and Trumpism and anti-Trumpism have dominated the conversation, is there a way to create a proactive, unifying vision and a movement that activates and accelerates that vision? Our guest this week, Shariff Abdullah, says yes, there is. And that pathway is a world designed to work for all.Shariff knows all about conflict and gang rivalry… he grew up in a rough neighborhood in Camden, New Jersey where teenagers who would have been best off working together for the betterment of all joined gangs that fought one another. Out of this potentially “down-bringing” upbringing, Shariff got his law degree, and has spent the better part of his lifetime working on behalf of mutual understanding, inclusivity and turning the ideal of “oneness” into the real deal of creating systems and situations where we can indeed create a world that works for all beings. As an author, Shariff has written several paradigm-shifting books, including: The Power of One: Authentic Leadership in Turbulent Times; Creating a World That Works for All; Seven Seeds for a New Society; Practicing Inclusivity; and The Chronicles of the Upheavals. In this week’s conversation, we will discuss a proactive rather than reactive way to trump Trumpism by stepping off the battlefield and “daring” to speak, stand for, and work for what we all know is possible. We’ll address those classic questions, “what’s so, so what and now what?” as we learn some key distinctions between reactive activism and “proactivism” where we design a new game, rather than playing by the rules of a fixed game. For Shariff’s ideas for what won’t work, watch this: https://youtu.be/hhWgIxSzK4cFor his ideas about what will, watch this video: https://youtu.be/qTy8RJLv3J0Shariff Abdullah can be found at: http://shariff.commonway.org/If you’re wondering how we can not only “take our country back” but take it forward, please tune in this Tuesday, July 10th at 2 pm PT / 5 pm ET: http://omtimes.com/iom/shows/wiki-politiki-radio-show/Or, find us on the Wiki archives on Wednesday: http://wikipolitiki.com/archives/How you can support Wiki PolitikiIf you LOVE what you hear, and appreciate the mission of Wiki Politiki, "put your money where your mouse is" ... This week on Relationships 2.0 my guest is Marc Allen author of The Magical Path: Creating the Life of Your Dreams and a World That Works for All About the book: At the start of his career, Marc Allen never took a business course; he simply made what he calls “a sloppy, disorganized, lazy, and intuitive search through the books of Western magic.” There he found the tools that took him from being a poverty case to a multimillionaire and helped him create one of the most successful independent publishers in the country. In The Magical Path, he presents these tools — effective, easy-to-apply practices, including affirmation, visualization, and guided meditation — that can change the course of readers’ lives in miraculous ways, as they did his. Because these tools are so simple and powerful, Allen calls them magic. But far from esoteric, they are tools anyone can use to achieve their dreams and goals. About the author: Marc Allen is an internationally renowned author and speaker, the president and publisher of New World Library, and an accomplished musician and composer. His most recent book, The Magical Path — Creating the Life of Your Dreams and a World that Works for All — is filled with short, simple practices that have proven to help thousands of people make wonderful changes in their lives. Bestselling author Dr. Bernie Siegel put it this way: “Marc Allen is sharing the wisdom of the ages in a way that can guide and coach us to choose and create the life we desire.”
Kerry-Anne Mendoza is Editor-in-Chief of The Canary (www.thecanary.co). She is known for creating one of the UK’s top independent political blogs (Scriptonite Daily), for authoring the best-seller 'Austerity', and for her Middle East reporting (notably Operation Protective Edge from Gaza through the Summer of 2014). Her passions are politics, economics and current affairs, which she examines with the basic question: “How do we build a world that works for everyone?” Growing up in working class Kingswood, Kerry-anne had no idea of the ground breaking work her West Indian grandfather had done for racial integration in the city. Finding out the full story at his funeral, when she was 18, she could suddenly made sense of the pull she felt to tell the stories that raise and tackle the world’s inequalities. Kerry-Anne tells her story, from a first visit to Palestine in 2002, through a career in the banking industry, before breaking out into the Occupy movement and never looking back. Recorded at the 5x15 Bristol event in January 2017. 5x15 brings together five outstanding individuals to tell of their lives, passions and inspirations. We know the world is in crisis: we are spoiling our planet at such a rate that soon it may be unable to sustain human life. This crisis is in fact a vast opportunity, because a secure and satisfying future for all of humanity is perfectly possible if we make the right choices. But building such a future will require the leap in consciousness. Join us and Pioneer the Possible. We will investigate what this new consciousness is and discuss effective leaders who have learned to apply it.
With Lisa Er, Standing in for Tim Lynch in Mobilising ConsciousnessIT IS TIME for us to do more than just talk about problems or propose band-aid solutions.IT IS TIME for us to stop addressing the symptoms that impede healthy, dynamic, sustainable, equitable, loving connections. It is time for us to get serious about the transformation of our systems and cultures. If we do not do this, our impeding patterns will keep us all locked in place.Increasingly, people, communities, organisations and even political systems are becoming aware of the need to build connection to each other and to the greater whole to address the issues and crises we are facing today.Paradoxically, while many are becoming more aware, they are also stuck in systems and structures that are dysfunctional, toxic and stressful creating mistrust, alienation and frustration. These negative patterns develop and spread, making it very difficult to affect positive change.Sharif Abdullah visited New Zealand on his last stop of a global journey to examine the ancient roots of sacred civilization in search of the keys for creating a world that works for all living beings. In response to the fact that we are collectively killing the planet he says, “The revolution is in CONSCIOUSNESS. Once you change your consciousness from Breaker to Mender, your actions will change. Trying to change behaviour, without changing the underlying consciousness that causes the behaviour, has always failed to achieve lasting change”.Sharif Abdullah, J.D., is a consultant, speaker, author and advocate for societal transformation. His mission is to bring currently dysfunctional systems and structures into alignment with our common human and spiritual values, to create a world that works for all living things. He describes the principles of inclusivity in his books The Power of One: Authentic Leadership in Turbulent Times, the award-winning Creating a World That Works for All, and the visionary Seven Seeds for a New Society.Often at the invitation of government, business and religious leaders, Sharif has worked with people from over 100 different cultures in over 30 countries on 5 continents. He has received international recognition for his ground-breaking work including the Martin Luther King Lifetime Achievement Award (US), Sarvodaya Vishvamitra/ Universal Friend Award (Sri Lanka) and the Hero of Humanity Award (India). The Commonway Venture, founded by Sharif and Leslie Hamilton, provides individual, group and organisational development to move beyond traditional pathways to unleash engagement, diversity and resilience. For more information: http://www.commonway.orgorhttp://sharif.commonway.orgThis programme is sponsored by: http://www.theawarenessparty.com
In this time of collective mourning, Rev. Patrick asks, "How do we look at the world? How do we filter the events that come before us? What do we do with our cracked-open heart?" We know that there is no private good. Likewise, there is no private sorrow. We all share in the experience. The trouble with steeling ourselves against the harshness of reality is that the same steel that secures our life against being destroyed secures our life also from being opened up and transformed. The path to our healing takes the form of surrender---surrender to the Divine Presence, to the One.
Buckminster Fuller, inventor of the geodesic dome, was a futurist, technology visionary and explorer of the deepest principles at work in Nature. He considered himself to be a “comprehensive anticipatory design scientist,” and dedicated his life to making our modern civilization work – for all of humanity – and in harmony with the systems of the natural world. His work … Read more about this episode...
