Allister sat down with OEUK's new boss, David Whitehouse, recently to ask how he plans to make the case for the sector in the face of increasing public and political opposition. It's a tough ask, but there's a story to tell. In Angola, everyone who's anyone (in subsea anyway) has won work on Azule Energy's mammoth Agogo project, potentially signalling a new dawn for oil and gas in the West African country. And there's a sombre news from Fife, where dozens of workers have been let go at Harland & Wolff's Methil fabrication yard following the collapse of an offshore wind contract. Union bosses ask, ‘where is the just transition?' This weeks show is a bit of a departure from our norm. Not a whole lot of talk about this past weeks shows, although we do mention some highlights. Adam Cole's promo from, NXT. Roman just absolutely owning every aspect of Smackdown. We voice our displeasure of McIntyre beating Kofi on Raw and take issue with Cody putting over Agogo on Dynamite instead of Double or Nothing. We focused the beginning of the show on the Dark Side of the Ring episode on Grizzly Smith.... (What a fucked up individual!) We end the show talking about the current state of WWE. After all of the recent releases what's next?? What's going on with Vince McMahon? Is God finally coming for his receipt? What will happen if the WWE really is sold? We discuss all this and much much more on this weeks episode of the podcast. Make sure to tell us what you think. Tweet us what you think is going to happen @LivYourGimmick

In this short look at our interview with former boxer Anthony Ogogo, he reveals the real story behind his journey to Olympic Bronze in London 2012... but it certainly could have been a different colour round his neck. Agogo had to deal with a terrible run of injuries to even qualify for the Games, continually defying the odds to even represent Britain. When finally there, he had to decide between boxing for GB and being at his sick mother's bedside. Sponsored by Bose. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Anthony Agogo ended up as a professional boxer, but it could have been very different. The Olympic medallist talks explains why he chose boxing over football, and discusses the benefits the sport brought to him growing up. Not everybody was a fan straight away, and he even had to make up lies to cover up for fighting injuries. Sponsored by Bose. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Former Ghanaian striker and Nottingham Forest player who recently passed away had a lot of love and shout out from his former team mates especially those from the national team. Current Blackstars captain Dede Ayew and Asamoah Gyan took to their social media platforms to offer their condolences to the family. Former Chelsea midfielder and Ghana Blackstar captain Michael Essien also took to his Instagram page to offer his condolences along with a picture of the two players during their time with the national team and that gesture seem to have triggered a lot of people. Even gospel musician Sonny Badu waded in on the fact that Junior Agogo was not shown any love when he was alive but now that he has passed everyone seem to want to show up and talk about how good he was and stuff. Most people called these condolences fake and that these people were not true friends. The Wahaala Boys look at the situation and ask if people are over reacting? #JuniorAgogo #SonnyBadu #MichaelEssien #DedeAyew #AsamoahGyan #Ghana #Africa #WahaalaBoysPodcast

Jason is doing the show solo this week. He talks about how the new year has started off for him. He started the Xbox Live group back up for the podcast after getting a new Xbox to replace the one that broke. He will be live streaming there every Wednesday at 10pm Eastern. He also got a webcam for Christmas and will be doing things on YouTube more often, you can subscribe to his channel by clicking here. His obsession with coffee has gotten worse now that he has a new coffee maker but America's obsession with Stranger Things baffles him. The podcast got mentioned on Reddit because of the Spider Mouse song from a few months ago. Some sad news about why a guest couldn't be on and some exciting news about a guest who will be on another episode. There was a song by the Arrogant Worms called "The Coffee Song". This week's segments were "Time To Get Fancy" by Kristina Hughes and "Bad Life Coach" by Dave Nelson. Wanna contact the show? Jason starts off by apologizing that there is no big show like he had been hyping up all month because he was too sick to prepare one. Mama Kate stops by to talk about how disappointed she is that there is no show and they talk about all of the things that they would have talked about if there was one. Dan Severn says hello. There's a song by the Arrogant Worms called "History is Made by Stupid People". Then Dave Nelson calls to talk about a new segment that they were going to announce today if there was a show. Mike Canestaro says hello. There's a song by Barnaby Griffin called "They're Getting Earlier Every Year". ChooChooStu calls in to say hello. There's a quick skit by the Arrogant Worms called "No Sale/No Store". Then Kenny Bolin calls in to yell at Jason for not having him on the show which he may or may not know was recorded. As five (count ‘em) separate productions of Ruddigore come to London and the home counties in November, Thos recalls the simply brilliant and hugely imaginative revival of the show in summer and interviews the director and cast of Gilbert and Sullivan’s perhaps most modern, cynical show...
MusicalTalk completes its miniseries on the life and works of WS Gilbert with this fascinating insight into Ages Ago, his first musical hit. Learn about the musicality of Frederic Clay and Gilbert's own development on the path to becoming the father of modern musical theatre.
That didn't take as long as I thought. After finally posting last week's Succotash debut and getting it linked up with iTunes, I wasn't sure how long it would take to get the next episode together. Happily, through the magnificent efforts of show engineer/producer Joe Paulino, it really only took me getting the next round of comedy podcast clips together and we were ready to go. After last week's premiere of Succotash, we got some nice mentions and with those, messages from some farflung podcasters who I hadn't heard of before. Now, there are a pile of established comedy p'casts out there and I'm anxious to showcase some of them. But these podcasters had the moxie to step up to the plate and ask if I'd consider featuring them on the show. AND two of them provided me with 3-5 minute clips of what they considered to be representative of their show. That saves me, booth engineer Kenny, and segment producer Stevie endless time so in they went to this week's show. Without further ado, here's what is on tap in Episode 2: • This Week with Larry Miller • The David Feldman Comedy Podcast • The Mustache Rangers • FitzDog Radio • Read It And Weep • Comedy A-Go-Go • The Jimmy Dore Show • Uhh Yeah Dude • Kevin Pollak Chat Show You can click on any of the above show names to go directly to the websites dedicated to those shows. I'm still getting used to remembering about leaving show information, where to find the websites, etc., so I'll ask any comedy podcasters featured on Succotash to please bear with my learning curve. If you're interested in having a particular podcast featured (yours or just one you enjoy), please contact me at marc@SuccotashShow.com. (Better yet, if you're want to send me a chunk of the show, around 3-5 minutes long, that will help my decision-making process immensely!) Thanks again to engineer/producer Joe Paulino and musical director Scott Carvey. Until next time, pass the Succotash! — Marc Hershon LAST WORD: I was hoping to have a Special Guest with me to co-host this episode — we were all ready to go with that plan — but then we decided to streamline our workflow in assembling the show this week and it felt it would be easier to work the bugs out of the system without having to infringe on our guest's time. I don't want to over-promise, as schedules change without warning, but will nevertheless tease that we will LIKELY have an SNL graduate on-hand in Studio P (The Home of The Hit!) with our next edition.
