How good are humans at distinguishing between human-generated thoughts and AI-generated…thoughts? Could doing an extremely unscientific exploration of the question also generate some useful discussion? We decided to dig in and find out with a show recorded in front of a live audience at Marketing Analytics Summit in Phoenix! With Michael in the role of Peter Sagal, Julie, Tim, and Val went head-to-GPU by answering a range of analytics-oriented questions. Two co-hosts delivered their own answers, and one co-host delivered ChatGPT's, and the audience had to figure out which was which. Plus, a bit of audience Q&A, which included Michael channeling his inner Charlie Day! This episode also features the walk-on music that was written and performed live by Josh Silverbauer (no relation to Josh Crowhurst, the producer of this very podcast who also wrote and recorded the show's standard intro music; what is it about guys named Josh?!). Long-time listeners to this show know that its origin and inspiration was the lobby bar of analytics conferences—the place where analysts casually gather to unwind after a day of slides interspersed with between-session conversations initiated awkwardly and then ended abruptly when the next session begins. Of the many conferences where this occurs, Marketing Analytics Summit (née, eMetrics) is the one in which this show is most deeply rooted. And, we'll be recording an episode in front of a live audience with all of the North America-based co-hosts on Friday, June 7, 2024, in Phoenix, Arizona at the next one! To call that out, including announcing a promo code for any listeners interested in joining us for the event, Michael, Val, and Tim turned on the mics for a bonus episode with a little reminiscing about past experiences at the conference, including Val's mildly disturbing retention of dates and physical artifacts. Visit the show page for, well, not much more than you see here.
This latest podcast features Nancy Allen from the People and Workforce Analytics team here at LACE, discussing her recent attendance at the HR Analytics Summit. Summary Managing end-to-end data flows becomes complex and unwieldy as the scale of data and its variety of applications in an organization grows. Part of this complexity is due to the transformation and orchestration of data living in disparate systems. The team at Upsolver is taking aim at this problem with the latest iteration of their platform in the form of SQLake. In this episode Ori Rafael explains how they are automating the creation and scheduling of orchestration flows and their related transforations in a unified SQL interface. Moe presented on bringing a product mindset to analytics (by "presented on," we mean "workshopped content for a future podcast episode"), and the closing keynote was a recording of the show in front of a live (and thoughtful and engaged) audience. Give it a listen, and it will almost be like you were there! For complete show notes, including links to items mentioned in this episode and a transcript of the show, visit the show page.

Vandaag gaan we solo. Automotive, Attribution and Analytics Summit.

In this role, he is often leading Data Science projects for organizations that are either leaders in the digital space or undergoing digital transformations. Much of the financial benefits of Data Science are realized by organization incorporating new and varied digital data and emerging technologies with their legacy data & analytics infrastructure. Jack will be speaking at the Marketing Metrics and Analytics Summit on Sept 26-27, 2017 in Chicago, IL! Jack has helped define, build, test and deploy solutions in the area of Search, NLP, Text Classification, Named Entity Recognition, Image Classification, Recommender Systems, Customer Segmentation and Uplift Modeling. These capabilities improve the productivity of almost any Data Science team, however, some of Jack’s biggest successes come when he has helped his clients automate the last mile of Data Science. Jack has helped his customer build model publishing and management frameworks and integrate them into the data science workflow. The days of waiting weeks or months for a model to be put into production is in the past. These frameworks also incorporate model performance monitoring and automated retraining to allow the Data Scientist to be at maximum productivity. Think Big Analytics provides enterprise customers with: Big data strategy - roadmaps that prioritize the possible to create more value, and much sooner than you would expect. Data engineering - solution design and delivery aligned to core business objectives. Data science - deeper questions and new approaches to solve existing problems and seize new opportunities. Managed services and training - management and optimization of big data systems to improve performance; plus training to increase organizational adoption Special Guest: Jack McCush.
People and smart machines, working together, outperform either on their own. Businesses can be separated into those who take analytics to the next level, and those who are stuck with management reporting; the analytical divide. Organizations that take analytics to the next level go beyond internal management reporting. They apply their analytics to being a digital business. They manage their information as a true asset. Where does that leave the people on the other side of the divide? With a huge opportunity! Digital business constitutes a level playing field for all other organizations as well. These new analytical areas provide the opportunity to get it right from the start. Without the legacy of the past. This session, based on the recently released Gartner ebook of the same name, is based on the premise that IT executives are often in extreme situations, where normal management techniques simply will not work. IT is increasingly under pressure to help the enterprise create competitive advantage, while dealing with increasing risks and challenges. Such an environment can drive enterprises to the “dark side”. IT leaders will need to become Machiavellian Wolves in order to succeed and bring their enterprises back into the light.
