You'll learn: Why high-achieving women are especially prone to anxiety What stress, hormones, and gut health have to do with it Simple ways to calm your body today (that take less than 5 minutes) This isn't fluff. It's science-backed and Biblically grounded encouragement that could change how you understand your own symptoms.

For the next several episodes we are going to be jumping into a series on how to REVIVE your life and business through facing the spiritual forces that we come against as believers. Scripture is FULL of references to unclean spirits and we are given insight on how to effectively battle these forces, but in today's modern culture we have all but forgotten the importance of standing strong in the Lord so He can fight these forces on our behalf. If you feel like you are facing opposition, discouragement, doubt, an unnatural amount of struggle, insecurity, or attacks in your business, then there is a spiritual force at play. While we do business in the natural, if we are believers, we are fighting spiritual battles in the heavenlies in all we do. In order to see breakthrough in the natural, we must first learn how to overcome in the Spiritual realms. This series is designed to help you do just that. So please come and join me in this first episode as we discover what are spiritual battles and how we are to face them so we can see greater success in all areas of life and business. If you think of Bathsheba's story, it's so twisted, yet God brought good from it for her. In all my years of hearing this story, I've only ever heard Bathsheba painted in a bad light as a seductress. Let's break down Scripture to see what God really says about her, and not add our own cultural traditions to wrongfully judge this woman. This study is so powerful for today in the church. If you have your own crimes against you and were judged wrongfully, you are not alone. God sees you, and He loves you. I hope this story also encourages your heart to have compassion on so many have faced deep hurts. Let's treat women differently, how God sees them.

In this episode of Arise + Abide, Curtis and Sally explore Isaiah 8:11–22, a powerful passage calling God's people to resist fear and trust wholly in the Lord. In a time of national panic and looming invasion, Isaiah is instructed not to think like the fearful crowd but to honor the Lord as holy and sovereign. Curtis and Sally reflect on the relevance of this message today, urging listeners to reject fear-driven mindsets and instead embrace faith, reverence, and obedience. The conversation highlights the danger of seeking guidance from the dead, the spiritually dead, worldly sources and the importance of clinging to God's word in times of darkness. Even as Isaiah foretells stumbling and judgment, there is a promise shining through: the hope of the coming Messiah. Jesus, the light of the world, calls us out of darkness and into life. Join us as we discuss the challenge of keeping God holy in our lives, trusting Him above all else, and living with confident hope in His promises.
Are you afraid of making the wrong decision and messing up God's plan for your life? Maybe you've been stuck in analysis paralysis, overthinking every option because you just want to be obedient—but you're terrified of choosing “wrong.” Friend, I've been there. In this episode, we're having a real conversation about God's will, decision-making, and how to move forward in faith—without the fear, pressure, and second-guessing. You'll learn how to test and discern God's will (yep, that's biblical!), why obedience matters more than perfection, and the truth about how God lovingly course-corrects when needed. If you're facing a big decision and want peace, clarity, and confidence as you move forward—this one's for you.

Hey Friend, Have you ever woken up more tired than when you went to bed? I've been there too—dragging myself through the day, wondering if this kind of fatigue was just my “new normal.” But what I've learned (and what I share in this week's podcast episode) is that chronic fatigue isn't just about being tired... it's your body crying out for help.
Need Prayer? Please Send Your Prayer Request To @chosenbyjesuscbj on Instagram! So, what does God say about being perfect? Have you ever felt like no matter how hard you try-it's never enough? That your life, your faith, or even your calling has to look perfect before it really counts? Perfectionism is one of the enemy's most subtle traps, especially for high-achieving, faith filled people. It disguises itself as excellence or high standards, but it's really fear in a fancy outfit: fear of not doing enough or being seen as flawed. In this episode today, Kelley and Taylor are exposing the spiritual lie of perfectionism and uncover what the Bible actually says about being perfect-and it's not what you think. Scriptures are from: Matthew 5:48 2 Corinthians 12:9 Galatians 3:3 Ecclesiastes 11:4 Dive in and let God break the cycle of perfectionism in your life! CONNECT WITH KELLEY & TAYLOR! How can a mother be gentle and patient without being lenient and overindulgent? How can she keep her cool when her children are disobedient? On a practical level, what can she do to work at parenting “smarter not harder”? In this "Part One" of the conversation, Lauren Bassford and Colleen O'Steen join Cindy on her weekly Facebook and YouTube video program Older Women Likewise to discuss how a mother can be gentle and patient without being lenient and overindulgent, how she can keep her cool when her children are disobedient, and on a practical level, what she can do to work at parenting “smarter not harder”.

In this final stanza of Psalm 119 (verses 169–176), Curtis and Sally reflect on the psalmist's heartfelt plea for God's help, discernment, and rescue. They explore the tension between waiting on God's promises and the reality of suffering, highlighting how prayer and praise can emerge even in the hardest circumstances. Drawing parallels to Job's endurance and Jesus' parable of the lost sheep, they emphasize that God hears, sees, and seeks us—especially when we feel most lost. This episode offers a reminder that humility, trust, and faith anchor us as we wait for the Good Shepherd to carry us home.

Have you ever felt intimidated by theological conversations? Today, we talked to Dr. Amy Brown Hughes about the role of dialogue in generating theology in the early church. Famous theologians like Methodius, Gregory of Nyssa and Augustine published conversations with others, including prominent women in their lives, such as Thecla, Macrina and Monica. Amy argues that theology was not an elite genre or closed discussion then – nor should it be so today! She thoughtfully engages with many issues surrounding our engagement with God and invites us to enter into theology as a hospitable conversation. We'd encourage you to listen and discover aspects of the patristic period that may surprise and challenge your preconceptions – and then come join the dialogue in the classroom from July 14-18 at Regent.BioDr. Amy Brown Hughes is an Associate Professor of Theology at Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts. She earned her Ph.D. in historical theology with an emphasis in early Christianity from Wheaton College in 2013. Dr. Hughes specializes in early Christianity, focusing on Trinitarian and Christological thought, theological anthropology, and the role of women in early Christian history. She co-authored the book Christian Women in the Patristic World with Lynn H. Cohick. We're excited that Amy will be joining us at Regent from July 14-18 to teach a class on Theology as Dialogue in Early Christianity. Few 19th century Protestant missionaries arriving in China realized that Christianity had first come to China over a thousand years before they had. Even fewer realized how much they had to learn. Not just the language-and that would prove hard enough-but thousands of years of culture. They wanted to change the world. Most missionaries arrived with a racial bias and assumed that Western culture was superior to Chinese. But they had a lot to learn and would find that if they would succeed in their conversion mission, they needed to adapt their methods. In this episode, we explore the largely unknown legacy of the Bible Women—Chinese Christian women of the 19th and early 20th centuries who served as Bible teachers, caregivers, and evangelists. These women went where foreign male missionaries could not: into the inner lives and homes of Chinese women. This is Part 2 of a two-part series on Christian Women in China. In this episode, Curtis and Sally explore Isaiah 8:1-10, where God commands Isaiah to name his son Maher-shalal-hash-baz—a prophetic sign of the swift Assyrian invasion. They discuss how Judah's rejection of God's gentle provision in favor of Assyrian protection leads to devastating consequences. Yet even amid judgment, God's presence remains. Through imagery of floods and promises of divine vindication, the hosts reflect on the tension between God's discipline and love, and the dangers of trusting worldly power over God's steady care.
Stop fearing the PAIN involved in your transformation. I hope this episode blesses you!

How are your nutrition habits? (Day in, day out.) Are you specifically working towards fueling up to boost your energy and reduce your brain fog? Food is powerful. If you've been part of my TW community, you've heard me say that food can be medicine or poison. It's THAT powerful. I didn't say that but Hippocrates, the father of nutrition, did. But I can assure you it is 1000% TRUE. I saw it with my daughter's illness that conventional medicine flat out denied.... (then proceeded for 3 long years to medicate her, test her and then ultimately, with NO answers, tell me it was in her head.) BUT FOOD HAD EVERYTHING TO DO WITH WHY SHE WAS SO SICK. Food can either be medicine and bring health to the body OR it can be poison and bring sickness to the body. I'm happy to share six sustainable lifestyle shifts that start in your kitchen. These are practical, doable changes designed to fight fatigue and brain fog, so you can shine (and heal) from the inside out…. Your nutritional habits really make a difference in how your body feels and responds. Summer is here… with that comes indulgences. And many times that leads to not so happy side effects. More brain fog. More tiredness. More bloating. More headaches. More... Don't worry, we're not gonna talk about eating less but eating right to nourish your body and soul. So grab a glass of lemon water, cozy up, and let's dive into these nutrition & lifestyle habits that you can begin to implement right now. These nutrition and lifestyle habits are doable and sustainable to help you boost your energy and beat that annoying brain fog. I pray this blesses you and moves you to action today! Join the conversation in our community at https://butjesusdrankwine.com/community. We're re-releasing one of our most popular episodes—Episode 13: Did Jesus Drink Wine? With Pastor David—because some truths are worth hearing twice. Or ten times. This episode gets to the heart of a phrase many of us used to justify the habit: “But Jesus drank wine.” It's not just the name of our podcast—it was a story that kept us stuck in a nightly-ish drinking cycle. So today, join us in the studio as they welcome a very special guest: Meade's pastor, David Walters, who joins us as our resident biblical scholar to tackle the burning question: Did Jesus really drink wine—and does it matter? David bravely and graciously unpacks this question and so many more, including: What does Scripture actually say about wine and drinking? What does it mean to “take our thoughts captive”? Why is the heart mentioned over 800 times in the Bible—and what does that have to do with the lies we believe? What are false idols, and how do they relate to alcohol or anything else we turn to for comfort? How do we uncover the deeper truth beneath the stories that keep us stuck? And yes… what do kids and CrossFit have to do with any of this? This episode is packed with spiritual depth, practical wisdom, and powerful applications for anyone on the journey to freedom—from alcohol, or anything else taking up too much space in your life. And don't miss the end of the episode—this week's “tiny TINA” might just be the most brilliant yet. Whether you're new to the pod or you've heard this one before, hit play with fresh ears. Because this might be the replay your heart needs right now. #ButJesusDrankWine #FreedomFromAlcohol #BiblicalTruth #FaithAndFreedom #TheMissingPeace #RenewYourMind #ChristianWomen #ReRelease Join our private, small-group coaching space, The Missing Peace, and get BJDW all-community access for free! https://butjesusdrankwine.com/coaching Order Christy's book now available! In this episode, Curtis and Sally reflect on Psalm 119:161–168, the “Shin” section, which highlights the peace and stability found in loving and obeying God's Word. Despite facing harassment and chaos in a broken world, the psalmist rejoices in the truth and justice of God's commands. Curtis and Sally explore themes of trust, obedience, and love, drawing connections to Jesus' call to die to self and follow Him. They emphasize that true peace comes not from our circumstances, but from remaining in God's truth and resting in His presence.

In this episode of Arise + Abide, Sally and Curtis reflect on Isaiah 7 and God's message to King Ahaz during a time of crisis. Despite Ahaz's idolatry and alliance with Assyria, God extends grace, urging him to stand firm in faith and even offering a sign of His deliverance. But Ahaz refuses, prompting Isaiah to deliver the prophetic sign of Immanuel—“God with us.” Through this passage, Sally and Curtis explore God's unwavering faithfulness, His desire for relationship over control, and how He invites us to trust Him even when we feel unsteady. God continues to reach out with rescue, redemption, and the promise of His presence.
In this episode, I'm joined by eleven dear friends who share what their time in God's Word looks like in their current season of life. You'll hear from women in different stages—homeschooling moms, empty nesters, full-time workers, caregivers, young adults—each finding simple, real-life ways to stay in the Word. Their routines may look different, but their hearts are the same: to draw near to Christ. My prayer is that their honest, grace-filled reflections encourage you right where you are and remind you that spending time with the Lord isn't about perfection—it's about meeting with Him daily, however that looks in your season. ABOUT THIS EPISODE: In this special Summer Flip Series episode, I'm so excited to share a powerful and honest conversation I had on the Online Business for Christian Women podcast with my dear friend Stefanie Gass. We're diving deep into the truth behind what really creates long-term success in online business—refining your messaging, trusting your path, and giving yourself permission to fully own your genius. I open up about my journey from PR and blogging to building a multi-million dollar brand, and how messaging clarity + visibility became the foundation of it all. We also talk about the difference between content and messaging, how to make your message move people (and create sales), and why the real transformation begins when you stop trying to be someone else and start fully owning what's already inside you. Plus, I share my favorite visibility tips for landing opportunities before you feel "ready." If you're craving alignment, clarity, and a permission slip to go all in on your calling, this episode is for you! Liked this episode?
