Send us a textHave you ever caught yourself saying, “I just don't feel like it,” even when something really matters? We have too. In this episode, Heidi shares a game-changing realization: if we wait for motivation to magically show up, we might stay stuck. But when we make choices based on our values—especially our identity in Christ—something shifts. We explore what it means to stop letting feelings drive the bus and start acting from a place that's rooted and true. This conversation gets real as we share honest struggles and simple tools that help us move forward, even when emotions push back. From the “first thought, second thought” approach to a quick values-check practice, we offer a framework that helps you pause, reflect, and take action that aligns with who you really are. It's not about forcing yourself through life—it's about recognizing that motivation often follows movement, especially when that movement starts from your core values.Support the showLearn more about our Revelation Within Community: https://www.revelationwithin.org

Hey Friend, Have you ever heard, “Everything looks normal,” even though you feel anything but normal? Maybe you're still exhausted—even after a full night's sleep. Your brain feels foggy, your energy crashes mid-morning, and your body feels out of sync. You're not crazy. And you're definitely not alone. As a board-certified functional health practitioner, I see this all the time—especially in high-achieving Christian women navigating fatigue, hormone imbalances, digestive issues, anxiety, and mood swings. The truth is, conventional medicine shines in emergencies—but it often fails women with chronic symptoms. Why? Because it treats surface symptoms instead of addressing root causes like inflammation, adrenal dysfunction, or blood sugar instability. In this week's podcast episode, we're unpacking the truth behind your symptoms and what your labs might really be saying. You'll discover: ✅ Why conventional medicine keeps missing the mark for exhausted women ✅ How functional medicine gets to the root and offers real answers ✅ The biggest mistake doctors make when interpreting labs—and how to look at them through a functional lens If you've been told, “You're fine” but your body is clearly saying otherwise, this episode will be a game-changer. ✨ You'll learn how to decode your labs through God's design for healing, finally connect the dots, and take confident, simple steps toward true restoration. In this episode, Curtis and Sally reflect on Psalm 122, a song of ascents that invites worshipers to joyfully enter the house of the Lord. They explore the spiritual significance of pilgrimage, gathering with God's people, and praying for peace. I'd love to hear from you. Send me a text! :)The world might define a “blessed life” as having the perfect house, a hefty bank account, dream vacations, and getting everything you've ever desired. And, while that is a version of a blessed life that God could gift to you, biblically speaking, a blessed life isn't measured by material things or successes—it's measured by God's presence, peace, purpose, and promises in your life.Let's redefine “BLESSED” because, according to the Bible, you might be more blessed than you think.

This month's topic is all about teaching and training your children. I was a youth pastor's wife for fifteen years, so I've seen a lot when it comes to raising teenagers. I hope this episode encourages you that you can have a good relationship with your teen. It's not impossible and it's not too late.I also forgot to mention in the episode, but wanted to here, don't take things personally with your teenager. Don't take it to heart if they have a bad attitude. There's so much hormonal shift happening that many times they feel so many different feelings they don't even know how to express it. Be encouraged. We are for you, and hope this helps you!Love, JackieSupport the showConnect with the ladies of Her Portion, HERE!
In this episode of Arise and Abide, Sally and Curtis reflect on Isaiah 9:8–21, a sobering passage that contrasts the hope of the Messiah with the harsh consequences of pride and rebellion. As Israel responds to ruin with arrogance and self-reliance, God allows them to face the fallout of their choices. Sally and Curtis explore how the wildfire of sin spreads when hearts resist repentance, and how God's judgment is ultimately aimed at awakening His people to return to Him. Through honest conversation, they share how true repentance and humility lead us away from destruction and into the abundant life found in following Jesus.

Send us a textIn Part 2 of our three-part series The Real Thing, we talk about the "almosts"—those things we turn to for comfort that feel close to peace but never quite satisfy. Whether it's late-night snacks, comparison, or performance, we've both reached for substitutes that ultimately leave us thirsty. Drawing from Jeremiah 2:13 and Isaiah 44, we unpack the imagery of broken cisterns and burned-out ashes, asking: Why do we keep trying to feed on what no longer gives life? This conversation isn't just about recognizing what's not working—it's about learning to receive what is. We share stories from our own lives and invite you into a reflective process using breath prayers and simple journaling prompts. What are the places in your life that feel like “almosts”? What would it look like to trade those in for the living water Jesus offers? Join us on this honest journey towards something real—because you weren't made to settle for almost.Support the showLearn more about our Revelation Within Community: https://www.revelationwithin.org
Have you ever sat in a women's Bible study, nodding politely while someone says “your husband is your spiritual covering,” and inside you're thinking, I think I'm dying a little bit every time I say “yes, dear”?In this episode, I get real about complementarianism, the nice-sounding theology that quietly hijacked our self-worth, autonomy, and sanity. I share how I was the poster child for it once (hello, Created to Be His Help Meet), and how that life script nearly destroyed my soul.I'm unpacking the research, the psychology, the theology, and yes, the “are you kidding me right now?” stories from real women who've lived this. It's systemic. And it's deeply damaging. What You'll Learn: How complementarianism teaches learned helplessness (like, literal textbook psychology)That a shocking number of women from these teachings suffer from anxiety, decision fatigue, and depression but think it's a faith issue, not a mental health oneWhy your pastor's advice to “submit harder” is about as helpful as telling someone with a broken leg to “walk it off with a godly attitude”That yes, the research confirms it: biblical womanhood theology messes with your brainHow to tell the difference between “conviction” and religious traumaRead the full show notes and/or ask Natalie a question hereRelated Resources:Head to our website to find ALL the resources I packed into today's episode.Check out some related Flying Free resources, including an article I wrote called “How Complementarianism Causes Abuse in Churches and Homes” and an episode called “Do Gender Roles Contribute to Emotional Abuse in the Home and Church?”
