Living Out a Life That Matters: A Conversation with Crickett Keeth

Have you ever wondered if what you're doing really matters? Maybe your days feel ordinary. Maybe you're faithfully serving your family, showing up for work, caring for others, or quietly doing what God has called you to do—but sometimes you wonder if it's making any difference at all. If you've ever felt that way, this week's episode of The Love Offering Podcast is for you. I had the joy of sitting down with my dear friend, Bible teacher, and author Crickett Keeth to discuss her new Bible study, Living Out a Life That Matters. Through Paul's relationship with Timothy in 2 Timothy, Crickett reminds us that every believer has a God-given purpose and that our lives carry eternal significance—even when they feel small, routine, or unseen. In our conversation, you'll discover: • How to identify and live out your unique God-given purpose• Why comparison steals our joy and distracts us from our calling• The importance of encouraging and investing in others• How God uses even the smallest acts of faithfulness for His glory• Why it's never too late to make an eternal impact One of my favorite moments from our conversation was when Crickett shared the story of her mother in a nursing home. Though she could no longer see, hear, walk, or speak, God still used her simple smile to point others to Jesus. It's a beautiful reminder that God never puts His children "on the shelf." Friend, your life matters. Your obedience matters. Your faithfulness matters. And God can use you right where you are today. I pray this conversation encourages you to embrace the purpose God has given you and to trust that He is working through your life in ways you may never fully see this side of heaven. Have you ever looked around at your family, friends, and the people you love most and wondered, Why do I still feel lonely? If you're in midlife, you may be surprised by how often this feeling shows up—even when nothing seems wrong. In this episode, I share some of my own experiences with loneliness during this season of life, including the transition of my daughter leaving for the Navy, changing family dynamics, evolving friendships, and the quiet emotional shifts that often happen in midlife. We talk about why loneliness isn't always about being alone, how grief and transition often fuel these feelings, and how God can use these moments to reveal deeper needs, bring healing, and guide us into new seasons of connection. WHAT YOU'LL LEARN [00:00] Why Loneliness Can Show Up Even When You're Surrounded by People You Love [04:00] The Hidden Grief Behind Many Midlife Transitions [06:00] Why Midlife Is a Season of Restructuring Relationships [08:00] How God Uses Seasons of Quiet to Get Our Attention [12:00] Friendship Changes, Relationship Shifts, and Learning to Let Go [14:00] Why Loneliness Is Not the Same as Being Alone [18:00] What My Daughter's Empty Room Taught Me About New Seasons [20:00] What Loneliness May Be Trying to Tell You RESOURCES: Join us for “Navigating Loneliness and Disconnection in Midlife” (July 2026 Topic in the Emotional Confidence Club)  If loneliness, emotional disconnection, or major life transitions have been showing up for you lately, the Emotional Confidence Club is a place to process those experiences alongside other Christian women who understand what you're going through. In July, we'll be taking a deeper look at loneliness and emotional disconnection, exploring questions like: Why can I feel lonely even when I'm surrounded by people I love? What is the difference between being alone and feeling disconnected? What kind of connection am I truly longing for in this season? Where is God inviting me into deeper healing, community, and relationship? To learn more, visit: AliciaMichelle.com/club RELATED EPISODES: Ep 295: Overcoming Loneliness: Practical Mindset Shifts to Build Friendships Starting Now with Becky Harling Ep 359: When Emotions Feel Scary: Practical Tools to Courageously Process What's Inside Ep 365: God Reveals So He Can Heal (And It's Time to Step Into That Healing) Send us Fan Mail

Anthea Hodgson - Author *The Palace of Lost Virtue* In 1898, Marigold Harrington arrives on the goldfields of Western Australia with conviction in her heart. The daughter of a prospector and a proud member of the Christian Women’s Temperance Union, she dreams of rescuing women the gold rush has forgotten, those trapped in the shadows of brothels and bars. Across town, Pansy Arlington presides over the Palace of Pleasure, her own small empire built from ruin. When Marigold arrives at her door, offering God’s forgiveness, Pansy surprises her with unexpected kindness. The two women spark an unlikely friendship, but in a rough, lawless town built on greed and desire, their bond will be tested by betrayal, violence and a crime that will echo through the years. Inspired by true events and the real women of the gold rush, The Palace of Lost Virtue dares to rewrite history books, giving voice to the lives of the formidable women who lived and died in the goldfields. By the bestselling author of The War Nurses, this is a lively and colourful tale about loyalty, forgiveness and freedom. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Exploring the feeling of desperation and stuckness, especially around body image or life circumstancesHeather Creekmore shares the real-life struggle and the “one thing” mindset00:00:09 Parallels with the biblical story of Rachel & Leah’s desperate longing00:03:01 The Root of Stuckness: Envy and Comparison How envy eats us alive—what Rachel and Leah were really longing for, and how this shows up in our own lives00:03:51 The dangerous pattern of “Give me _ or I’ll die!” and how this mindset affects our faith and contentment00:05:10 False Solutions and Chasing Idols Why achieving our desires (like Rachel’s longed-for baby) doesn’t satisfy in the end00:10:17 How “self-improvement” can actually lead to more pride and stuckness instead of freedom00:25:17 The Call to Pure Humility A deep dive into biblical humility vs. pride; why humility is about focusing less on ourselves00:13:15 The example of Mary (mother of Jesus) and her response of true humility and worship00:24:35 Getting Unstuck: Practical Steps Why you can’t do it alone—why Christian community, confession, and honest conversations are crucial00:31:19 How zooming out (not magnifying your own issues) can change everything00:30:26 Final Encouragement Reminder: body image healing isn't just mental...it’s spiritual. Have you ever felt exhausted from constantly thinking about how you're doing, how you're perceived, what you're accomplishing, or whether you're enough? If we're honest, most of us live there more often than we'd like to admit. This week on The Love Offering Podcast, I sat down with author Morgan Krueger to talk about her new book, Made to Magnify: Choosing to Live for Jesus When Everything Tells You to Live for Yourself. Together, we explored a truth that feels both challenging and freeing: the more focused we become on ourselves, the more anxious, insecure, and unsatisfied we often feel. In a culture that constantly tells us to build our own platform, protect our image, and chase self-fulfillment, Morgan offers a refreshing invitation to lift our eyes and fix them on Jesus instead. In this episode, you'll discover: • Why self-focus often leads to anxiety, comparison, and striving• The three struggles that commonly keep us stuck: pride, fear, and doubt• How confession, community, and God's Word help us break free from isolation• Simple ways to magnify Jesus in everyday life• Why the small, unseen acts of faithfulness matter more than we realize• How Mary's words, "My soul magnifies the Lord," can become our daily prayer If you've been feeling weary from carrying the weight of proving yourself, performing for others, or trying to control every outcome, I believe this conversation will encourage your heart. Friend, you were never created to make your own name great. You were created to magnify His. And as you do, you'll discover the joy, peace, and purpose your heart has been longing for all along. What does it look like to stay planted in Jesus when life feels uncertain, uncomfortable, or costly? In episode one of our Summer Recap Series, Shelley Giglio sits down with Grammy Award-winning songwriter, worship leader, and longtime friend Brooke Ligertwood to talk about anointing, obedience, creativity, and surrender. Together, they explore the weight and wonder of being entrusted with God's calling… and how true freedom is often found not in striving, but in faithfully staying with Jesus one day at a time. Brooke shares personal stories about discovering songwriting at a young age, stewarding creativity through both worship, and learning that the goal of her life isn't success or recognition, but simply to remain close to Jesus. Have you ever found yourself replaying someone else's words, assuming they were judging you? Or maybe you've caught yourself criticizing someone in your mind, convinced you're seeing the situation clearly. If so, you're not alone. This week on The Love Offering Podcast, I sat down with my friend Shannon Popkin to discuss her new book, Kinda Judgy: Finding Mercy for Myself and Others in Six Stories of the Bible. Together, we explored a topic that many of us struggle with but rarely talk about openly—judgment. What if the criticism we feel from others is often rooted in our own insecurities? What if the harsh standards we apply to others reveal places in our own hearts that need God's healing mercy? Through powerful stories like Jonah, the thief on the cross, and the woman caught in adultery, Shannon reminds us that while God is a righteous Judge, He is also abundantly merciful. His mercy changes how we see ourselves and how we see others. One of my favorite takeaways from our conversation was this: we often feel judged and become judgy in response. But Jesus shows us a different way. Though He was wrongly judged, He responded with compassion, forgiveness, and grace. In this episode, you'll discover: • Why judgment and insecurity are often connected• How contempt quietly damages our relationships• What Jonah's story reveals about our own hearts• How God's mercy transforms the way we treat others• Why the cross is the ultimate picture of love and compassion Friend, if you've ever struggled with being critical of yourself or others, this conversation will encourage you and point you back to the heart of God. What if the biggest thing holding you back in sales isn't your pricing, offer, or marketing—but how you see yourself? In this episode, I share the key lessons from the first Sell With Confidence Challenge. After four days of live sales training, the women didn't leave talking about scripts or closing techniques—they left talking about leadership. They learned to overcome awkwardness in sales conversations, to stop seeing sales as pressure and start seeing it as serving others. They discovered how to communicate their value confidently and guide people to decisions that genuinely help them. Inside this episode, you'll discover: Why confidence comes from preparation, not personality The mindset shift that turns sales from “bothering” into serving Why many Christian women struggle more with permission than integrity How communication—not persuasion—is the missing link in sales Why leadership is the true skill behind successful selling How understanding buyer personalities transforms sales conversations Hear stories from women who shifted from feeling unprepared or pushy to becoming confident leaders in their sales journeys. If you've ever felt uncomfortable asking for the sale, worried about being too pushy, or heard “I need to think about it” more times than you'd like, this episode is for you. Key Takeaways: Confidence is built through preparation Sales is service—not pressure Communication is a leadership skill Buyers want guidance, not convincing Selling is really about leading Join the Sell With Confidence waitlist for the September 2026 cohort at: https://lindsayfletcher.co/waitlist

Tayler, Alora, Mary, and Clarissa. All four of us. All in. Because we believed the most honest conversation deserved the most voices around the table. In this final episode of the motherhood portion of our mini-series Things Christian Women Don't Say Out Loud, we go straight into the question nobody wants to answer out loud: Have you ever looked at your children and felt like you had absolutely nothing left to give? And we answer it. Honestly. Without the performance. Without the pretending. Just four moms who have been in the thick of it — three kids in diapers, 5pm with nothing eaten, the kind of tired that sleep doesn't fix — talking about what actually got them through. In this episode we talk about:What it actually feels like to have nothing left — and what to do in that momentThree kids in diapers, non-stop days, and the survival mode nobody prepares you forWhy "God will never give you more than you can handle" is NOT in the Bible — and what He actually does insteadElisabeth Elliott's "do the next thing" — the only strategy that works when the whole day feels impossibleThe sanctifying power of being given more than you can handleHow to rely on God's strength when your own is completely goneThe mom job description nobody signed up for — but billions of women are living every single dayFinding your community even when it doesn't look like what you expectedWhat happens when you show up anyway — and God meets you thereThe closing prayer over every mom listening who is running on empty right nowScripture anchors:Lamentations 3:22-23 — "His mercies are new every morning."2 Corinthians 12:9 — "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."This episode ends with a prayer over you. Over the mom who is barely holding on. Over the mom who hasn't eaten since breakfast. Over the mom who just needs someone to see her today. We see you. God sees you. And His mercies are new tomorrow.

Is modesty about honoring God… or controlling women? Can you be fashionable, feminine, confident, and still modest? Does what you wear actually matter? And what do we do with all the church baggage around “causing your brother to stumble”?In this episode, we sit down with three Christian women for an honest, nuanced, and probably overdue conversation about modesty. We're talking about beauty, conviction, femininity, social media, lust, validation, and what modesty actually means from a biblical perspective. We'll talk about:Whether women are responsible for men's lustWhat modesty is actually about if it is not just “covering up”What “don't cause your brother to stumble” actually means in contextThe difference between dressing confidently and dressing for validationWhether modesty standards should change when you're marriedHow Christian women practically think through what they wearIf Christian women should dress differently online versus real lifeWhy modesty conversations almost always target women and not menThis conversation is not about hiding your body or being ashamed of beauty. We love a good vampire yarn, or speculating about how we would react to a zombie apocalypse. Pop culture loves them too: vampires sexy, zombies scary. But what is the value in telling these kinds of stories? Is there more to it than just Hollywood trying to make more money? Dr. Amy Hughes, a theology professor, scholar, and author joins the pub table to discuss our favorite supernatural creatures and what they have to say about humanity and God. OnScript podcast, Dr. Hughes' two books: Christian Women in the Patristic World, and the just-released Gregory of Nyssa on the Resurrected Life.

In this episode, Brooke and I dive into a struggle so many Christian women share: feeling disconnected from their bodies, overwhelmed in their lives, and genuinely unsure why their health is suffering. What often shows up: Constant stress and urgency Snapping at loved ones Poor health or confusing symptoms Feeling unable to slow down The root issue isn't just physical, it's a whole-person misalignment. Why "Healthy" Efforts Aren't Working So many women are trying: Diet changes Supplements Exercise plans But still feel stuck. The missing piece? The "why" behind the dysfunction. Your body responds to: Chronic stress Emotional wounds Spiritual disconnection Without addressing those, surface-level fixes just won't last. Living in Survival Mode A key theme we talk about is the nervous system. So many women are stuck in fight-or-flight, which looks like: Everything feeling urgent Inability to rest Constant distraction Burnout and irritability Your body was designed to handle stress briefly, not live in it daily. When it does, both physical and emotional health begin to decline. Emotions Are Signals Instead of suppressing emotions, Brooke reframes them as signals: Anger → often rooted in fear Anxiety → often tied to overload Irritation → unmet needs Learning to name emotions helps calm your body and understand what's really happening. Biblically, emotions aren't sinful, they're human. Even Jesus experienced deep grief and distress. The goal isn't to avoid emotion, but to remain obedient within it. Connection Before Correction This applies to both parenting and personal growth. Instead of immediately fixing behavior: Pause Attune Understand When you feel seen (and help others feel seen), real change becomes possible. Why You Feel Overwhelmed The issue often isn't effort, it's capacity. Your nervous system determines how much you can handle. If it's overwhelmed, adding more habits only makes things worse. Healing expands your capacity over time so you can handle life differently, even if your responsibilities don't change. The Work That Changes You Real transformation requires deeper work: Processing emotions Facing past wounds Letting go of control Surrendering to God It's not easy, but it leads to lasting peace and clarity. Getting Back Into Alignment So many women are living out of order: Work and responsibilities first God and self last True alignment looks like: God Family Self-care Everything else When God is first, everything else begins to fall into place. Self-Care Isn't Selfish Neglecting yourself leads to burnout and disconnection. Taking care of yourself allows you to: Show up fully for others Respond instead of react Live with more peace and joy You weren't designed to run on empty. Final Takeaway Your body, mind, and spirit are connected. Healing starts when you: Slow down Pay attention Process what's beneath the surface Reorder your life around God It's not about doing more. It's about living aligned. In this episode, Allie reveals what she believes is the biggest threat to Christian women's theology and ministry today — not feminism, progressivism, or the New Age, but therapy culture. What many see as harmless self-help and “mental health awareness” on social media is actually flooding women's Bible studies, books, and conferences with me-centered ideas that quietly replace biblical sanctification with self-focused healing. Allie walks through three popular therapy concepts sweeping Christian circles — inner child work, shadow work, and somatic therapy — showing their New Age and Jungian roots and why they contradict Scripture. While she fully supports Christ-honoring biblical counseling, Allie warns that many therapeutic ideas that sound “almost Christian” are leading women away from the cross, self-denial, and the Holy Spirit's transforming work. Studies like the one featured in the Atlantic even show that certain therapy approaches can make mental health worse, especially among teens. True healing doesn't come from reparenting your inner child, integrating your shadow, or shaking out trauma stored in your body — it comes from the God who meets you as you are and calls you to maturity in Christ.
