Amanda Hietter shares on this episode of the Vibrant Living Podcast about surviving, abuse, surrender, and what happens when you realize you have spent years carrying life in survival mode. Not thriving. Not truly living. Just surviving. Amanda speaks honestly about fear, control, healing, and learning to trust God again in places where life had taught her to brace for impact. There is something steady and grounding about this conversation. No pretending. Just authentic truth. Just a woman who has been there and is finding her way back. This conversation was originally recorded during FORTIFIED: Women Rising in Authority, Ease, and Joy.In this episode, we talk about:Survival mode and emotional exhaustionAbuse and healingFear, surrender, and trustLearning to receive supportLiving differently instead of just copingWhat real freedom begins to look like
What does it look like to stay planted in Jesus when life feels uncertain, uncomfortable, or costly? In episode one of our Summer Recap Series, Shelley Giglio sits down with Grammy Award-winning songwriter, worship leader, and longtime friend Brooke Ligertwood to talk about anointing, obedience, creativity, and surrender. Together, they explore the weight and wonder of being entrusted with God's calling… and how true freedom is often found not in striving, but in faithfully staying with Jesus one day at a time. Brooke shares personal stories about discovering songwriting at a young age, stewarding creativity through both worship, and learning that the goal of her life isn't success or recognition, but simply to remain close to Jesus. Shelley and Brooke also reflect on the beauty of being “good trees” – rooted, nourished, and trusting God alone with the fruit their lives produce. This conversation is for anyone who feels stretched, misunderstood, weary, or unsure of what obedience looks like in this season. You'll walk away encouraged to stay planted, take heart, and trust God with the outcome! If you want more from Brooke, you can find her at @brookeligertwood on Instagram or www.brookeligertwood.com. Do you believe that self-care is selfish? For a lot of Christian women, that question hits close to home. If you've spent most of your life believing that caring for yourself meant you were putting yourself before God or others, this episode will shift that mindset. This kicks off a 5-part Summer Self-Care Series where every episode gives you real, practical ways to care for your body... including gentle detox tips you can start right away...without taking a spa day every so often or complicated daily routines. But before we get into the practical, we have to get into the foundational. Because if you believe self-care is selfish, no wellness strategy will stick. So we're going straight to Scripture and looking at what God actually says about loving and caring for yourself versus what the world has twisted it to mean. Grab your Bible and journal! Have you ever found yourself replaying someone else's words, assuming they were judging you? Or maybe you've caught yourself criticizing someone in your mind, convinced you're seeing the situation clearly. If so, you're not alone. This week on The Love Offering Podcast, I sat down with my friend Shannon Popkin to discuss her new book, Kinda Judgy: Finding Mercy for Myself and Others in Six Stories of the Bible. Together, we explored a topic that many of us struggle with but rarely talk about openly—judgment. What if the criticism we feel from others is often rooted in our own insecurities? What if the harsh standards we apply to others reveal places in our own hearts that need God's healing mercy? Through powerful stories like Jonah, the thief on the cross, and the woman caught in adultery, Shannon reminds us that while God is a righteous Judge, He is also abundantly merciful. His mercy changes how we see ourselves and how we see others. One of my favorite takeaways from our conversation was this: we often feel judged and become judgy in response. But Jesus shows us a different way. Though He was wrongly judged, He responded with compassion, forgiveness, and grace. In this episode, you'll discover: • Why judgment and insecurity are often connected• How contempt quietly damages our relationships• What Jonah's story reveals about our own hearts• How God's mercy transforms the way we treat others• Why the cross is the ultimate picture of love and compassion Friend, if you've ever struggled with being critical of yourself or others, this conversation will encourage you and point you back to the heart of God. What if the biggest thing holding you back in sales isn't your pricing, offer, or marketing—but how you see yourself? In this episode, I share the key lessons from the first Sell With Confidence Challenge. After four days of live sales training, the women didn't leave talking about scripts or closing techniques—they left talking about leadership. They learned to overcome awkwardness in sales conversations, to stop seeing sales as pressure and start seeing it as serving others. They discovered how to communicate their value confidently and guide people to decisions that genuinely help them. Inside this episode, you'll discover: Why confidence comes from preparation, not personality The mindset shift that turns sales from “bothering” into serving Why many Christian women struggle more with permission than integrity How communication—not persuasion—is the missing link in sales Why leadership is the true skill behind successful selling How understanding buyer personalities transforms sales conversations Hear stories from women who shifted from feeling unprepared or pushy to becoming confident leaders in their sales journeys. If you've ever felt uncomfortable asking for the sale, worried about being too pushy, or heard “I need to think about it” more times than you'd like, this episode is for you. Key Takeaways: Confidence is built through preparation Sales is service—not pressure Communication is a leadership skill Buyers want guidance, not convincing Selling is really about leading Join the Sell With Confidence waitlist for the September 2026 cohort at: https://lindsayfletcher.co/waitlist
Why do I keep spiraling into the same negative thoughts? Why does rest feel so hard? How do I know if a thought is from God… or fear?In today's special Q+A episode, we're diving into some of the most common mindset, emotional health, and neuroscience questions Christian women quietly wrestle with every day. We'll talk overthinking, emotional exhaustion, rumination, faith, forgiveness, and practical ways to renew your mind—one thought at a time. You are not stuck. Your brain can change. Healing is possible.
Is modesty about honoring God… or controlling women? Can you be fashionable, feminine, confident, and still modest? Does what you wear actually matter? And what do we do with all the church baggage around “causing your brother to stumble”?In this episode, we sit down with three Christian women for an honest, nuanced, and probably overdue conversation about modesty. We're talking about beauty, conviction, femininity, social media, lust, validation, and what modesty actually means from a biblical perspective. We'll talk about:Whether women are responsible for men's lustWhat modesty is actually about if it is not just “covering up”What “don't cause your brother to stumble” actually means in contextThe difference between dressing confidently and dressing for validationWhether modesty standards should change when you're marriedHow Christian women practically think through what they wearIf Christian women should dress differently online versus real lifeWhy modesty conversations almost always target women and not menThis conversation is not about hiding your body or being ashamed of beauty. It is about conviction, identity, wisdom, and honoring God without fear, shame, or performance. If modesty has ever felt confusing, controlling, legalistic, or honestly just exhausting, this episode is for you.Let's talk about it
What happens when the very things that help keep us healthy are the first things to disappear in overwhelming seasons of life? The walks. The movement. The routines. The rest. The meal planning. The consistency. In today's episode, I'm joined by Ondrea Lynn — speaker, author of Christian Women's Weight Loss Victory Plan, host of the Christian Women's Weight Loss Podcast, and a faith-based fitness and nutrition coach who has helped thousands of women transform their health from the inside out. Together, we talk about simplifying food and fitness, creating sustainable routines, stewarding our bodies well, overcoming overwhelm and inconsistency, renewing our minds through Scripture, and why caring for our health impacts every other area of our lives. This conversation felt especially timely heading into summer with all the noise online around quick fixes, workouts, diets, and pressure to completely overhaul ourselves overnight. If you've been feeling tired, discouraged, stretched thin, inconsistent, or stuck constantly trying to “get back on track,” I think this episode will really encourage you. There is a better way. A slower, steadier, God-centered approach to health and wellness. And stay until the end because Ondrea shares three powerful scriptures and a declaration that I immediately wanted to write down for myself. Praying this conversation gives you hope! Send us Fan MailAs America approaches its 250th birthday, many are asking difficult questions about our nation's identity, history, and spiritual foundation. In this thoughtful and timely conversation, Patricia sits down with author and prayer leader Cynthia Scott to discuss her book, Celebrating GOD, Our FOUNDER, at America's 250th Birthday.Together, they explore the role faith played in America's founding, the dangers of distorted narratives surrounding Christianity and nationalism, and why remembering God's providence matters in this cultural moment.Cynthia shares how years of prayer for the nation inspired this book and explains why she believes history should lead us not toward pride or division—but toward humility, gratitude, and prayer. This conversation is not about politics. It is about remembering the spiritual roots that shaped generations before us and considering what kind of legacy we will leave for the next generation. In this episode, you'll hear: • Why America's 250th birthday is spiritually significant • The difference between honoring faith in history and Christian nationalism • Historical moments that reveal God's providence in America's story • Why prayer is essential for the future of our nation • How believers can respond with truth, humility, and hope in divided times
In this episode, I'm joined by Bridgett Blood for an honest conversation about sexuality, purity culture, shame, and sacred desire. For many women, conversations around purity were shaped more by fear, performance, and rigid rules than true wholeness and intimacy with God. In this episode, we explore what purity culture may have been trying to communicate, where the message became harmful, and how we can begin reclaiming a healthier, more honest understanding of sexuality and desire. We talk about:redefining purity beyond performancehow shame impacts our relationship with our bodies and desireswhat “sacred desire” really meansand how healing and wholeness are still possible, no matter your storyWhether you're processing past church experiences, wrestling with shame, or simply longing for a more life-giving conversation around sexuality, this episode is an invitation into honesty, freedom, and hope.To connect with Bridgett, head over to https://bridgettblood.com or @bridgettblood @datinganddesire on IG!RECLAIM Cohort: https://bridgettblood.com/reclaimSUPPORT BY WORDS: https://buymeacoffee.com/bywordsMy favorite Bible studies + devotionals - HANNAHHUGHES10 for 10% off: https://thedailygraceco.com?dt_id=300773 CONNECT:hello@thehannahhughes.comhttps://www.instagram.com/thehannahhughes

What does healing from people-pleasing look like in real life, not just at the beginning, but years later? In this episode, I share my personal story of people-pleasing, where these patterns began for me, how God brought healing, and what it looks like now to live on the “maintenance side” of emotional healing. We talk about fear of abandonment, over-functioning in relationships, parenting adult children, nervous system vigilance, and the ongoing process of learning how to stay grounded in safety and trust instead of falling back into old survival patterns. What does it mean for women to shine for Christ in a culture focused on self? In this episode, Amy Rienow continues sharing from her Shine Bible study and encourages women to understand God's love and walk with Him every day. Amy talks about Philippians 2:15, 2 Timothy 3, and the call for believers to stand out rather than blend in. She also reflects on how self-focus shapes our culture and why the answer is not trying harder, but receiving and believing the love of God through Jesus Christ. Happy Mother's Day to all of the incredible mothers out there. Today's episode is a deeper conversation about the urgent need for stronger, more biblical men and women in our culture, people willing to stand for truth, protect the vulnerable, and refuse to stay silent in the face of evil.We discuss the ongoing outrage surrounding the Epstein files, the lack of accountability for powerful people, and the broader cultural failure to protect victims from wicked and predatory individuals. But this conversation goes beyond headlines. It's about morality, courage, justice, faith, and what happens when societies stop valuing strong families, strong character, and biblical principles. This episode is ultimately about hope too, because evil does not win forever. Real justice matters, truth matters, and good people still have a responsibility to speak up.

I used to think holiness meant learning how to want less — less food, less attention, less desire. Less me.Today we're sitting down with Anna Rollins, author of Famished: On Food, Sex, and Growing Up as a Good Girl, to talk about something many of us have felt but didn't have language for — how purity culture and diet culture quietly taught us the same message: good girls make themselves smaller. We talk about the hidden scripts we absorbed in church and culture, the exhaustion of trying to control our bodies to feel safe, and the moment everything starts to unravel. What if your hunger isn't something to fix, but something to listen to?This episode is an invitation to stop striving, to notice where fatigue is giving you feedback, and to begin reclaiming your God-given appetite — for rest, nourishment, connection, and joy.To connect with Anna, head over to https://www.annajrollins.com or @annajrollins on IG!Get Anna's book, Famished here: https://amzn.to/45l5oFA Submit a question for “Ask Han” here: https://forms.gle/qWGxyy9M5Q5N2tMz9 SUPPORT BY WORDS: https://buymeacoffee.com/bywordsMy favorite Bible studies + devotionals - HANNAHHUGHES10 for 10% off: https://thedailygraceco.com?dt_id=300773 CONNECT:hello@thehannahhughes.comhttps://www.instagram.com/thehannahhughes

Tonight's Our Daily Bread Evening Meditation invites you to reach out to Jesus in faith, just as the woman in Luke 8:42-48 did, and experience His power and tenderness.Reflecting on this passage, we are reminded that no struggle is too long or too heavy for His care. Even a simple act of faith can bring transformation and hope. We love a good vampire yarn, or speculating about how we would react to a zombie apocalypse. Pop culture loves them too: vampires sexy, zombies scary. But what is the value in telling these kinds of stories? Is there more to it than just Hollywood trying to make more money? Dr. Amy Hughes, a theology professor, scholar, and author joins the pub table to discuss our favorite supernatural creatures and what they have to say about humanity and God. OnScript podcast, Dr. Hughes' two books: Christian Women in the Patristic World, and the just-released Gregory of Nyssa on the Resurrected Life.
You said yes to him. Then you said yes to the uniform. And nobody told you how heavy both would feel at the same time.In this episode, we're saying OUT LOUD what so many Christian military wives are whispering behind closed doors — I love my husband, but military life is tearing my marriage apart. The deployments. The loneliness. The parenting alone. The reunions that don't feel like the movies. The distance that grows even when he's home. The guilt you feel for struggling when you "knew what you signed up for."We see you. We hear you. And this is a safe place to finally say it.Because loving God, loving your husband, AND being exhausted by this life are not mutually exclusive — and it's time we talked about it.
As evening falls, draw near to God and rest in the simplicity of His will. Many thoughtful Christian women believe they're stuck because they need more clarity. But what if the real issue is something deeper? In this episode, Christian life coach Renee Booe explores a subtle pattern she sees in many faith-driven women who feel called to more: self-abandonment disguised as humility. If you've ever silenced your desires, second-guessed your voice, or waited for permission before stepping into something God placed on your heart, this conversation will resonate deeply. You'll learn: • how self-abandonment quietly keeps women stuck • why thoughtful Christian women often silence themselves • how to begin trusting what God has already placed inside you • the first step toward stepping into your calling with courage If you've been feeling the tension between faithfulness and stepping into something bigger, this episode will help you recognize what might really be happening. Because sometimes the biggest shift begins when we stop shrinking… and start listening again. Money talk can feel heavy — especially when it's tied to shame, fear, or the belief that you're just “not good with it.”Today we're sitting down with Bethany Frymire, author of Women of Worth, to have an honest, faith-filled conversation about finances, identity, and stewardship. We unpack the common lies Christian women believe about money and how those beliefs quietly shape the way we show up.If you've ever felt overwhelmed by your finances (or avoided looking at your bank account altogether) this conversation will meet you with grace and give you a simple place to start. You'll walk away with:A renewed understanding of your worth (apart from money)A biblical perspective on stewardshipEncouragement for seasons of financial stress or starting overPractical first steps to build confidence with your financesThis episode is a reminder that slow growth isn't failure, and God cares deeply about how you steward what He's given you.To connect with Bethany, head over to @bethanyfrymire on IG!Get Bethany's book here: https://amzn.to/4bX2HMP Submit a question for “Ask Han” here: https://forms.gle/qWGxyy9M5Q5N2tMz9 SUPPORT BY WORDS: https://buymeacoffee.com/bywordsMy favorite Bible studies + devotionals - HANNAHHUGHES10 for 10% off: https://thedailygraceco.com?dt_id=300773 CONNECT:hello@thehannahhughes.comhttps://www.instagram.com/thehannahhughes
In this episode, Brooke and I dive into a struggle so many Christian women share: feeling disconnected from their bodies, overwhelmed in their lives, and genuinely unsure why their health is suffering. What often shows up: Constant stress and urgency Snapping at loved ones Poor health or confusing symptoms Feeling unable to slow down The root issue isn't just physical, it's a whole-person misalignment. Why "Healthy" Efforts Aren't Working So many women are trying: Diet changes Supplements Exercise plans But still feel stuck. The missing piece? The "why" behind the dysfunction. Your body responds to: Chronic stress Emotional wounds Spiritual disconnection Without addressing those, surface-level fixes just won't last. Living in Survival Mode A key theme we talk about is the nervous system. So many women are stuck in fight-or-flight, which looks like: Everything feeling urgent Inability to rest Constant distraction Burnout and irritability Your body was designed to handle stress briefly, not live in it daily. When it does, both physical and emotional health begin to decline. Emotions Are Signals Instead of suppressing emotions, Brooke reframes them as signals: Anger → often rooted in fear Anxiety → often tied to overload Irritation → unmet needs Learning to name emotions helps calm your body and understand what's really happening. Biblically, emotions aren't sinful, they're human. Even Jesus experienced deep grief and distress. The goal isn't to avoid emotion, but to remain obedient within it. Connection Before Correction This applies to both parenting and personal growth. Instead of immediately fixing behavior: Pause Attune Understand When you feel seen (and help others feel seen), real change becomes possible. Why You Feel Overwhelmed The issue often isn't effort, it's capacity. Your nervous system determines how much you can handle. If it's overwhelmed, adding more habits only makes things worse. Healing expands your capacity over time so you can handle life differently, even if your responsibilities don't change. The Work That Changes You Real transformation requires deeper work: Processing emotions Facing past wounds Letting go of control Surrendering to God It's not easy, but it leads to lasting peace and clarity. Getting Back Into Alignment So many women are living out of order: Work and responsibilities first God and self last True alignment looks like: God Family Self-care Everything else When God is first, everything else begins to fall into place. Self-Care Isn't Selfish Neglecting yourself leads to burnout and disconnection. Taking care of yourself allows you to: Show up fully for others Respond instead of react Live with more peace and joy You weren't designed to run on empty. Final Takeaway Your body, mind, and spirit are connected. Healing starts when you: Slow down Pay attention Process what's beneath the surface Reorder your life around God It's not about doing more. It's about living aligned. What if we truly believe our contentment were not linked to our circumstances—that we really do have the ability to give thanks in all circumstances, as we're exhorted to do by Scripture? What would it change? For the Christian woman mired in bitterness and comparison, the answer just might be “everything.”In this conversation with Tilly Dillehay, we explore the influences in modern culture that drive Christian women to consider themselves short-changed by their husbands, their children, and, ultimately, God. Is using AI in your health journey wise? In this eye-opening and maybe slightly triggering episode of Treasured Wellness, we're talking about something most wellness voices are staying silent on, especially for high-achieving Christian women. You're the driven professional or business owner who looks successful on the outside... leading, performing, showing up for family and faith... yet inside you're battling high-functioning fatigue: that deep exhaustion, brain fog, and decision fatigue that no amount of sleep seems to fix. So you start searching for more information as to why you are feeling like you do. AND what to do about it! With 81% of physicians now using AI in their practices, and AI becoming the first stop for millions of women searching symptoms, labs, hormones, or wellness advice, it's time to ask the hard question: Is this really helping us steward our bodies well? As provocative a topic as it is, I had to discuss this new reality in healthcare... artificial intelligence being used for care. AI in women's wellness is designed to keep you coming back... still tired, still suffering... but with a flowery new answer or shiny object to chase. It drives engagement without real impact. And it mirrors the same medical model that has dismissed, brushed off, gaslit, and undertreated women for decades. In 2026, women are still 2/3 of the way sick before a diagnosis is made. This should not be for God's daughters! To be clear: AI has it's place and it's certainly not going away. It can be useful for documentation and administrative tasks. But when it comes to diagnosis, treatment plans, or personal health decisions, relying solely on it as a medical professional is borderline reckless and irresponsible. This isn't about quick fixes or worldly wellness. This is about Biblical health freedom. Nourishing your body and brain through real nutrition, deep faith, and true rest. As a lifelong researcher who recovered from chronic adrenal fatigue, burnout, and Hashimoto's, I didn't wait for my doctor to hand me answers every 3-6 months. I took ownership of my health, asked hard questions, refused non-answers, and leaned into God-given instincts and the Holy Spirit for wisdom and peace. This is why I encourage you that YOU are the best advocate for your own health. No algorithm can replace the wisdom of stewarding your temple God's way. Scripture reminds us in 1 Corinthians 6:19–20 and Romans 12:1 (NIV) Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. This isn't me saying not to use it in your health journey... but wisdom and discernment is necessary as you steward and treasure your wellness. Wellness is worship... with the sustainable energy you need to run your business, nurture your relationships, and do the work He's called you to. I pray this helps you to OWN your health, XO, Michelle *1 John 4:1-7 Reclaim the energy God gave you. You were made for more than pushing through. In this episode, Allie reveals what she believes is the biggest threat to Christian women's theology and ministry today — not feminism, progressivism, or the New Age, but therapy culture. What many see as harmless self-help and “mental health awareness” on social media is actually flooding women's Bible studies, books, and conferences with me-centered ideas that quietly replace biblical sanctification with self-focused healing. Allie walks through three popular therapy concepts sweeping Christian circles — inner child work, shadow work, and somatic therapy — showing their New Age and Jungian roots and why they contradict Scripture. While she fully supports Christ-honoring biblical counseling, Allie warns that many therapeutic ideas that sound “almost Christian” are leading women away from the cross, self-denial, and the Holy Spirit's transforming work. Studies like the one featured in the Atlantic even show that certain therapy approaches can make mental health worse, especially among teens. True healing doesn't come from reparenting your inner child, integrating your shadow, or shaking out trauma stored in your body — it comes from the God who meets you as you are and calls you to maturity in Christ.
