A 14 million dollar roster for the '25-'26 North Carolina Tar Heels with an eye on a return to elite company on the court. Tobin and Leroy jump straight into Hour Tua with nothing but fresh audio from the Dolphins' minicamp yesterday — hearing Tua talk about protecting himself better and learning when to give up on plays. Naturally, the gang had plenty to unpack on that, diving into what it means for his growth and the team's future. From there, we hit our usual mixed bag of hot takes: Myles Garrett is ready to add Aaron Rodgers to his Halloween graveyard — watch out, QB ghosts! Joe Burrow keeps it cool, reminding us that the stakes going into the season are always the same, no matter the hype. And of course, we couldn't resist the burning question: will Bill Belichick's controversially young girlfriend be cheering from the sidelines this season at UNC? The speculation is real, and the gang had some thoughts you won't want to miss.

We kicked things off roasting the Oilers and Knicks—New York somehow got curved by two coaches without even a meeting. Brutal. Then it was all aboard the Road to Repeat, hyping up the Panthers and that one absolutely unhinged hockey dude we all love. Tobin and Leroy went full “Hour Tua,” breaking down Dolphins minicamp audio, Tua's self-awareness, and what it means for the season. Hot takes followed: Myles Garrett's QB graveyard, Burrow's calm confidence, and yes—Bill Belichick's young girlfriend made the show. Father's Day displays got roasted, Jaime Jaquez Jr. got real about mental health, and Leroy dropped a passionate rant. Then it was Rats Off a Ship time—Sandy Alcantara, Aaron Rodgers takes, and even cracked-out raccoons made the list. Finally, Tobin lost it over Durant-Suns trade rumors, yelling toward Pat Riley like he might actually hear him. Chaos ensued with Leroy, but somehow… they agreed in the end? We cooled it off with some baseball, football, and Panthers vs. Oilers Game 3 hype. Let's go Cats!

What happens when aging rock stars decide to bash America from overseas stages? In this spirited episode, the crew dives into Bruce Springsteen's controversial comments and why celebrities who once championed middle America now seem determined to alienate those very fans. "Trump hit a button in some of these people that just blew the lid off," they observe, questioning why stars risk relationships with loyal audiences for political statements. The conversation shifts to a candid examination of the music industry's award system after Beyoncé and Post Malone recently won country music awards over Morgan Wallen. The hosts express deep skepticism about "fan voted" awards, arguing that Nashville executives have become dangerously disconnected from genuine country listeners. "Music Row will always be completely disconnected from the actual country listener," they assert, highlighting how industry decision-makers repeatedly misjudge what resonates with heartland audiences while chasing crossover appeal.A highlight of the episode comes when K-Lo performs his hit "Laugh Until We Cry," followed by a moving discussion about how becoming a father transformed the song's meaning for him. This intimate moment showcases the authentic power of country songwriting – how lyrics crafted years earlier can evolve alongside life experiences. The hosts share inside stories about song origins and creative partnerships, giving listeners rare insight into the artistry behind the hits. The episode closes with a passionate debate about college football's transformation under NIL deals, Brady and Belichick's legendary partnership, and what makes true leadership. Through a full decade of pro football — 1990 to 1999 — Leroy Hoard specialized in zapping the will to fight from defenders. His goal? Make you quit by the fourth quarter. The sight of No. 33 in Cleveland and No. 44 in Minnesota barreling through defenses helped define this glory era of the sport itself. Hoard ran with power, speed, attitude. And oh my, he has stories to share. The former NFL running back hangs out on the Go Long Pod to relive it all. During a Pro Bowl season in 1994, Hoard led the Browns to the playoffs with 1,335 total yards and nine touchdowns. Of course, he also remembers the scene in ‘95 when the Browns played their final games at Municipal Stadium. He'd later resurrect his career with the high-flying Vikings of the late 90s. Full audio and video is above, and available within your Apple and Spotify feeds. I'll share the written transcript later today.Topics include…* Life as a running back in the 1990s, from the old AFC Central to the NFC Central.* Growing up in New Orleans' dangerous Ninth Ward.* The worst collision of his football life. * The time the Browns moved from Cleveland to Baltimore. * The time he arrived in Minnesota on a Tuesday, started on Sunday and it felt like living in China. * Concussions. Pain. Life has been hard for Hoard since he retired. Did he have suicidal thoughts? Was he depressed? Hoard explains this empty feeling. * Finding purpose as a radio commentator today at 560 WQAM in South Florida. * Bill Belichick. His former coach in Cleveland has made offseason waves. We get Hoard's thoughts. * Analysis on the Browns today, Kevin Stefanski and the failed Deshaun Watson experiment. Thank you for fueling our independent journalism here at Go Long and sharing with a friend.Hoard previously hung out with us back in November 2021 if you'd like to check out that conversation, too.Miss our Browns column this week? The new College Football 26 is set to drop next month—and EA Sports just made a major statement by leaving out Deion Sanders and Bill Belichick. JT breaks down the real reason behind the snub and why it's deeper than licensing. Then JT dives into the most polarizing team in the country: LSU. Is this finally the year Brian Kelly delivers on expectations—or will the Tigers collapse under the pressure again? JT also talks Miami Football's ugly history of falling off after big seasons, and whether Mario Cristobal is the coach to finally reverse the trend. And to close it out, JT explains why Alabama's defense might be the best in college football heading into 2025, led by the nastiest secondary in the country and an underrated linebacker room.
