The GOT Truckers Act, a piece of federal legislation that would guarantee company drivers receive overtime pay, is back in Congress. Also, OOIDA's Lewie Pugh headed to Washington, D.C., recently to get federal officials up to date on freight fraud in trucking. Then, after a long back-and-forth among businesses, agencies and the courts, it appears a beneficial ownership information requirement is out. And some carriers have moved toward use of inward-facing cameras, but those devices can create problems. But what if you do one that is also a creature feature plus has family drama. We also review an uncomfortable psychological thriller starring Geoffrey Rush and John Lithgow.This year Blake watched the Oscars while Nathaniel could care less about them. We talk about Demi Moore not winning for The Substance, Quentin Tarantino's amazing casting track record, and record long speeches. The Ready or Not sequel has added a notable name to its cast. Are we ready for it?There is something about screenlife movies that just does not work for us. Host was great and Dashcam was fun, but they usually end up being more frustrating than anything else. Bloat was no different as the filmmaking took us out of it on a number of levels. We could not even imagine why it was done in this style to being with.If the movie were shot in a more traditional style it probably would have been better, but that does not mean it would have been good. The writing is awful presenting the audience with characters that are shallow at best. There is no payoff for the monster and the ending is downright confusing. Maybe we should stick to found footage.The Rule of Jenny Pen was discomforting for different reasons. When you have Rush and Lithgow leading the way, you now acting is not going to be a problem. The atmosphere is a bleak one that only gets darker as the plot progresses. Before long, things have escalated to levels that are almost impossible to watch.But you do not want to look away. That is what makes it such a great film. It is touch to watch and filled with a sense of sadness and hopelessness. It also has two compelling leads and a riveting story. It was breaking news about a Missouri couple, Gary & Mary Weaver, that were attacked on June 19th at a Nebraska rest area on I80. Randy and I travel I-80 many times and most likely stopped at this same rest area. Dashcam footage from a nearby semi truck shows a 22 year old scumbag demanding keys to their Jeep, breaking into their RV and brutally murdering Gary by stabbing him to death then went outside and attacked Mary. The Hall County Sheriff's office arrived on the seen to find the couple bleeding from their knife wounds and transported them to Grand Island Hospital. It was there that Gary was pronounced dead and Mary remains in critical condition.While RVing can generally be safe, there are specific precautions RVers can take to reduce the risk of being attacked like Gary & Mary.
