He has also worked as Sports Information Director at Catholic University, which is also near our nation's capital. His career in sports has also included work as a journalist, covering NBA games in DC. More recently, he coached T-Ball for eight years, coached 10-and-under basketball, and along the way picked up a Coach of the Year honor. This all followed his having been a student-athlete back in his high school days. Listen for the physical challenge he overcame to play four different sports!

On May 6, 2019, Howard University Director of Athletics Kery Davis announced the hiring of Kenneth Blakeney as its men's basketball head coach. In his first season at the helm, Blakeney coached Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) All-Time Leading Scorer Charles Williams where he earned All-MEAC honors. He also witnessed Wayne Bristol, Jr. winning 2019-20 MEAC Rookie of the Year. Blakeney brings a wealth of experience and a winning pedigree to the program. He has coached at seven Division I universities over a 12-year span. He has been associated with winning as a player, coach and business entrepreneur. Raised in Washington, D.C., Blakeney was a McDonalds All- American and Gatorade Player of the Year at the famed DeMatha Catholic High School, playing for Hall of Fame Coach Morgan Wooten, the winningest high school coach in history. Following his stellar scholastic career, Blakeney headed to Durham, N.C., to play for the Duke Blue Devils under the direction of Head Coach Mike Krzyzewski. During his Duke career, the Blue Devils compiled a record of 99-34 which included winning two national championships. After receiving his bachelor's degree in history from Duke, Blakeney secured his first coaching position as the assistant men's basketball coach at James Madison under Hall of Fame Coach Lefty Driesell. Blakeney later moved on to the men's basketball staff at LaSalle University where he recruited and developed Rasual Butler, a 2002 NBA draft pick for the Miami Heat. Blakeney then moved on to the University of Delaware where he served as the Head Assistant under now current Notre Dame coach Mike Brey. During his time in Delaware, Blakeney conducted coaching clinics and lectured in Senegal and Turkey as part of NBA educational efforts. He also assisted in the recruitment of three nationally ranked recruiting classes from 2003-06 at Delaware. Blakeney lectured in the physical education department, coordinated community relations events and initiated a marketing campaign called the “6MAN”. After one-year stints at St. Bonaventure and Marshall, Blakeney went on to have a successful career at Harvard University. Working under Head Coach and former Duke standout Tommy Amaker, he assisted in capturing the program's first Ivy League Title and NCAA Tournament berth since 1946. Blakeney also helped recruit two back to back Top 50 recruiting classes in 2008 and 2009, with the 2008 class being named to the ESPN Top 25. He also discovered and developed 10-year NBA veteran Jeremy Lin. After his four years at Harvard, Blakeney co-founded a fashion accessory company named Sportin' Styles. Additionally, he joined apparel giant Under Armour where he worked with NBA, College and Grass Roots division. Paul was selected 1st overall by the Boston Cannons in the 2008 Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft. That year, he also competed in the MLL All-Star Game. In 2009, Paul was named the MLL MVP and MLL Offensive Player of the Year. In 2010, Paul competed in his third consecutive All-Star team and was named First-Team All-Pro. In 2011, Paul was named the MLL MVP and MLL Offensive Player of the Year for the second time. He also won the MLL Bud Light Skills Competition in 2011, making him the first player to have won both the Skills Competition and the MLL Fastest Shot competition. Many have named him the best lacrosse player in the world. In 2012, he was declared the MLL Offensive Player of the Year for the third time, tying the league record for most season-ending awards by a player. He also set the single-season points record (72) while playing midfield for the Boston Cannons.[4] In 2014, he was named to his seventh consecutive All-Star team and named MLL First-Team All-Pro for the sixth consecutive year. On January 5, 2015, Paul was traded to the New York Lizards, along with fellow midfielder Mike Stone for veteran Max Seibald and draft picks. Paul played in and started 12 out of the 14 regular season games. He had 24 goals, 15 assists, and three two-point goals in the regular season. On August 1, 2015, he had two goals and two assists in a semifinal playoff games against the Boston Cannons. New York would win in overtime 16-15. On August 8, 2015, Paul had three goals and three assists as the Lizards defeated the Rochester Rattlers 15-12 in the MLL Steinfeld Cup Championship game. This made Paul a two time Steinfeld Cup Champion as he finished off the season with a total of 29 goals and 20 assists. He was named the Coca-Cola Player of the Game MVP of the championship.

Marshall Cho was hired on May 1st, 2015 as the Head Boys Basketball Coach for Lake Oswego High School. Cho served as the director of basketball operations at University of Portland from 2012 to the 2014. His primary responsibilities include coordinating the team’s travel plans, office management, overseeing the programs community outreach efforts and managing the Pilot Basketball camps. Cho joined the Pilots after spending the previous three seasons on the coaching staff at renowned DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. Cho began his career as an educator through the Teach For America program and taught in the South Bronx and Harlem for six years. He served as the boy’s basketball coach from 2004-06 at Future Leaders Institute, leading them to a New York City Charter School Championship. From 2006-09, while living in Mozambique, Cho spent three years as a volunteer coach and instructor with the Mozambican National Basketball Federation. Cho worked to assist the under-20 and under-16 national team and for Desportivo do Maputo, one of the top senior men’s club teams in Mozambique. He also trained under-16 basketball coaches using the NBA/Nike Africa Coaches Guide for six consecutive weekends leading up to the under-16 national championship. In August of 2008 Cho was the varsity boys’ basketball coach at the American International School of Mozambique, where he started and developed that program. During his time in Africa, Cho served as a coach for the NBA-sponsored Basketball Without Borders Africa. He also led a variety of volunteer efforts, including rehabilitating basketball courts by partnering with Hoops 4 Hope and the U.S. Embassy and conducting basketball clinics with local basketball clubs. Cho has served as clinician for USA Basketball Youth Division, and worked as court coach and support staff member for the junior national team program. He has worked with USA Basketball for the Nike Hoop Summit game since 2012 as well as working the junior national team’s U16/U17 trials. Cho graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 2000. He also received a Master’s Degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from Columbia University in 2003. Cho was born in Seoul, South Korea and grew up in Springfield, Ore. Mike Jones has been the head coach at DeMatha Catholic High School for 17 years and he won a national title in 2006. Mike’s teams have won nine Washington Catholic Athletic Conference regular season titles, eight WCAC Tournament crowns, four Maryland Private School Tournament championships, six Abe Pollin City titles and six Alhambra Catholic Invitational Tournament championships. Additionally, since he started as a head coach at DeMatha, Jones has coached six athletes who went on to play in the NBA. Coach Jones owns an all-time record at DeMatha of 469-116 (.802 winning percentage). A standout player at Old Dominion University from 1991-92 through 1994-95, Jones was a member of the All-Colonial Athletic Association second team and earned CAA All-Tournament team honors in his senior season, in which he averaged 16.5 ppg. Jones led the Monarchs to NCAA Tournament appearances in 1992 and 1995, and he capped his ODU career with 1,166 points. Following his career at ODU, Jones played professionally in the CBA and International Basketball Association, where he was all-league first team in 1997. He also played professionally in Portugal, Hong Kong, Finland and the Dominican Republic. Mike also will serve in his 19th USA Basketball coaching role as head coach of the 2019 USA Basketball Men’s U16 National Team. Three times he previously has served as head coach of the USA Nike Hoop Summit Team, including in 2013, 2014 and 2018, and he served as a USA Nike Hoop Summit assistant coach in 2012 and 2017. He got his start with USA Basketball as an assistant coach for the 2004 Youth Development Festival East Team. He won three gold medals with USA Basketball men’s junior national teams, including the 2011 U16 team and 2012 and 2016 U17 teams. He also previously has worked as a coach at the annual USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Team October minicamp eight times (2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018).
