(This podcast was previously published on November 29, 2020)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   No one knows the circumstances of your problems like you know them.   James 5:16  The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.To be "effectual" that prayer must be according to the will of God "for you."   You are the one who must go to God to find out the will of God for you before you pray.   To be "fervent" that prayer must be "red hot".   Most of us cannot be "red hot" concerning a stranger.  We usually just do not experience the torment a stranger is going through.  In your need you are "red hot" over your suffering.  And your faith must be in God, and not in us.   You should pray!   Philippians 4:6-7  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.   (You pray directly to God.)   7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.   I John 5:14-15  And this is the confidence that we have in HIM, that, if we ask any thing according to HIS will, HE heareth us:  And if we know that HE hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of HIM.   You pray directly to God!   *****   When a minister prints on his written materials, "Send me your prayer requests"  usually, that minister is hoping you will put some money in the envelope with the prayer request.  In such cases, requests for your prayer requests are fund raising gimmicks.   ABC Primetime Live investigated Robert Tilton at Word of Faith Family Church in Farmers Branch, Texas on November 21, 1991.  (see Robert Tilton, ABC PRIMETIME LIVE, Wikipedia)   Tilton printed, "Send me your prayer requests," on his published materials and told people to send him their prayer requests on his radio and TV shows.  80-million dollars per year was received according to the ABC News report.  After the expose aired on ABC, offerings fell to 2-million dollars per year, still a lot of money.  Some in his church began trying to sue Tilton for his hundredfold return doctrine. He divorced and ended up marrying 3 times.  His church property was sold to the city of Farmers Branch and was torn down.   I had the same advertising agent as Tilton.  When I refused to ask people to send prayer request, the representative from the Michael Ellison Advertising Agency told me, "Well, you're missing a good bet by not doing this, for when they send prayer requests, they will usually put money into the envelope along with the prayer request."  This was a fund raising scheme.   When the envelopes arrived at Tilton's church, they were forwarded "unopened" to a bank in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where bank employees opened the prayer requests envelopes and removed the money, depositing that money into Tilton's bank account, and they threw the prayer requests into the garbage where ABC investigators found them in dumpsters.   In my opinion, it would be impossible for ministers to adequately pray over individual problems when they received hundreds of prayer requests this way.   This is all very evil.   You, who send prayer requests, are somehow thinking that minister has more power with God than you have.  So your faith is in the prayer of the minister rather than being in faith in God.  And a minister who uses prayer this way does an evil deceptive work.   I do not want you to send prayer requests to me.  I tell you in writing on our blog that you should pray. I have never solicited prayer requests during the past 40+ years that I have done ministry work as an apostle/prophet of Jesus Christ according to Ephesians 4:11-12.   You should pray directly to God.   ***   A woman in our church group once asked me to help her pick out a lighting fixture for her dinning room.  I agreed to meet her at the lighting store.  Enroute to the store, I prayed:  "God, please help us to find a light fixture immediately so we will not have to go all over town looking for one."   (Philippians 4:6   "Let your requests be made known unto God.")   When we entered the store, I saw a fixture that would work, but I wanted this woman to find her own fixture so I just sat at the desk area and waited as she looked at the fixtures.   When she returned to the area where I was sitting, I asked, "Well ... did you find a fixture?"   She replied, "No."   I pointed to the fixture I had noticed as we entered the store and I said, "That would work."   She examined the fixture and bought it.   When we left the store, I asked, "Did you pray before we went to that store to look for a light fixture?"   In a very coy way she said, "No ... because I knew you would."   Her faith was in me instead of being in God.   Depending on others to pray could end up costing you your faith in God and destroy you spiritually.

And now is a GREAT time of the year to start 'dreaming.' 5. Your Attitude Determines Your Altitude. You cannot fly high if you're surrounded by people who live low. Protect your energy. Fuel your mind with gratitude and growth. Surround yourself with people who elevate, inspire, and challenge you. Because the higher you go, the thinner the air — and the fewer the distractions. Also, Keyonte George hit game winner in Double Overtime, and Kyle Whittingham says Devon Dampier is still playing pretty banged up.  During yesterday's Utah Jazz game, a technical foul was called on the ball boy. Head Coach Will Hardy didn't agree with the call and was sure to let the refs know.  Hour 2 Think of all the long coaching tenures our local teams have gone through: Jerry Sloan, Greg Wrubell, Kyle Whittingham, etc. Those are only allowed to happen because fans are patient enought with them. Not all fan bases are so kind.  LeBron James is nearing his return from injury and will make his season debut soon. Is this The King's final season?  We can't believe some of the questions that coaches have to put up with in their media pressers.

What does it mean to design a study with patients, not just for them, and why does that shift matter for kidney care outcomes? Dr. Na'mah, Bethney Bonilla, and Jennifer McClung answer these questions and more with insights from their En-ROUTE Study, which explores transportation challenges through the lived experiences of dialysis patients.   In today's episode we heard from:    Bethney Bonilla-Herrera, MA, is a health researcher at the UC Davis Center for Healthcare Policy and Research (CHPR), specializing in social risks and health policy. She conducts qualitative research, manages projects, fosters community-engaged research, and performs policy analyses. Prior to her role at CHPR, she worked as an investigative journalist, honing her skills in research and analysis.   Na'amah Razon, MD, PhD is a family physician, medical anthropologist, and Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of California, Davis. Dr. Razon's research focuses the relationship of health and place and evaluating policies aimed to advance social care activities in the healthcare sector. Her current research explores the impact of transportation insecurity on chronic disease and cross-sector opportunities to improve health and mobility.   Jennifer McClung was 16 1/2 when she was diagnosed with end-stage kidney failure. She went from having what was believed to be a bad case of the flu to being told her kidneys had failed, her heart was double the size it should be and needed to be placed on dialysis in less then 48 hours. Jennifer did dialysis for over 17 years. She survived on peritoneal dialysis for just over 14 years and then had to be switched to hemodialysis for 3 and a half years more. She finally received her kidney transplant in Dec 2015. Since getting her kidney transplant Jennifer helps to run a kidney support group in her local community and has devoted her life to being kidney advocate. She uses her voice to educate the public about their kidneys, encourages people to be organ donors, and speaks to the different legislators in Washington D.C about bills and laws that need to be passed to help the kidney community. Courts Circuits est de retour à la ferme de Trévero. Pour ce deuxième épisode, la journaliste Mégane Fleury a accompagné Régis lors d'une journée de moisson de sarrasin, de la préparation de la machine jusqu'au champ. La récolte des céréales et graines est une étape cruciale : aboutissement du travail effectué depuis des mois, elle est aussi risquée. Il faut moissonner le bon jour, celui où la météo est au rendez-vous et où les graines sont suffisamment mûres. Puis, dans le cas du sarrasin, il faut l'emmener rapidement dans un séchoir pour que l'humidité ne l'abîme pas. Après plusieurs heures de préparation, nous partons avec Régis, à bord de la moissonneuse-batteuse que la ferme partage avec plusieurs agriculteurs. Ce temps passé au champ est l'occasion de parler des terres : de la recherche de la ferme aux échanges avec Terre de Liens, une foncière citoyenne devenue propriétaire des lieux. Up for the MatchOff on Sunday morning to Croke Park. Dark skies. Lots of grey clouds. Our journey was delayed by Féile An Phobail's 5km and 10km run. Diverted and distracted we eventually got out of West Belfast and on the road to Dublin. Enroute the dark skies lightened. The grey clouds gave way to blue heavens and gentle sunshine. We were off to watch Antrim's Lady Footballers in our own All Ireland against Louth. As we crossed the Border KneeCap kept our spirits high. Their ceol blasted out and the car rocked as we hip hopped to the Capital. A morning after the night before follow-on from Saturday evening's Falls Park Country frolicks.The match in Croker started off positively with Antrim taking an early lead but Louth soon asserted themselves and Antrim was chasing the game from then until the last ten minutes. Some of the players may have been overwhelmed by the big occasion.  If so who could blame them? To play in Croke is mighty and Antrim supporters were out in strength. Everyone, including us, as proud as could be.  Family members, club mates. The number of Northern Gaels was swelled by Tyrone supporters who later went on to win their championship against Laois. Dublin went on to best Meath in the Seniors. Last week the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), a United Nations panel which had long warned of the threat of famine, concluded that it was now a reality.The use of the word ‘famine' and the images of starving children are a reminder for many in Ireland of what life must have been like during An Gorta Mór in the 1840s. But it is important to note that in a famine there is no food. In Ireland there was plenty of food. During those years the quaysides of ports along our coast were lined each day with abundant produce - all bound for export. It was a starvation.The hunger in Gaza is an Israeli made starvation. Aid agencies and the UN have more than enough food and medical aid ready to enter Gaza. Israel prevents this. It was constructed and then managed in a way to ensure that nationalists would never have a say in running the place.We are less than three years off the 30th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement. The DUP shares the office of the First Minister with Sinn Féin but their strategy is focused on the next Assembly election in two years' time and their aim is to remove Michelle O'Neill as First Minister. That is why there is a battle a day over Irish language rights. That is why there has been no start on building the new Casement. That is why there is negative nonsense over bi-lingual signage in public places.
