Bruce and Carolyn join Claire and Rachel to share about their new book At the Feet of Jesus: Encountering Christ in the Gospels, which will be released by IVP on April 25. They share about writing the book through many years of leading prayer retreats with students and church groups, the practice of Ignatian meditation and the joy of keeping our eyes on Jesus, as we follow the example of Mary of Bethany. Towards the end of the conversation, they also tell us about their upcoming En Route summer course in Italy, Martyrs, Monks and Mystics (May 18-31). BiosDr. D. Bruce Hindmarsh is the James M. Houston Professor of Spiritual Theology and Professor of the History of Christianity here at Regent. He earned his PhD in theology from Oxford University. His scholarly work focuses on the history of early British evangelicalism. Bruce is a fellow of the Royal Historical Society and a past president of the American Society of Church History. He is also an active lay member of an Anglican Church in Vancouver. Carolyn Hindmarsh holds a DMin from Fuller Seminary. She teaches New Testament Greek and spiritual theology at Regent College and is a trained spiritual director. Rory McIlroy turned in one of the wildest Sunday rounds in the history of the Masters en route to winning the 89th playing of the Masters and completing the career Grand Slam. Holding a two shot lead heading into the final round, McIlroy started the day with a double bogey on the first hole and lost his lead to Bryson Dechambeau. The rollercoaster round continued all day for Rory McIlroy until the final hole where he missed a short putt for the win. Justin Rose made 10 birdies on his way to also finishing -11 and tied for the lead. On the first playoff hole, McIlroy stuffed a wedge in tight to make birdie and take home the Green Jacket. It was a wild Masters Tournament with Bryson Dechambeau playing well until Sunday when his iron play went off the rails on his way to a 75. Max Homa made his first cut in nearly 9 months and 2018 Masters champion Patrick Reed made an appearance on the leader board with a 3rd place finish. Boeing Wins USAF Next-Gen Air Dominance Fighter (F-47).  Boeing has won the contract to develop the first ever sixth-generation fighter, dubbed the F-47, President Donald Trump announced today. The fighter will be expected to operate with the service's forthcoming fleet of drone wingmen known as Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA). General Atomics Aeronautical Systems and Anduril are in competition for the separate CCA contract. 2. US Sec Def Extends USN Carrier USS Harry Truman (CVN-75) in CENTCOM AOR; USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) Enroute. The Truman will stay in CENTCOM AOR for another month, according to a U.S. official. The Carl Vinson, which was operating in the East China Sea this week, has been tasked to the Middle East region to make for an overlapping two-carrier presence as the Trump administration ramps up its aggression against the Yemen-based Houthis.3.  IDF Strikes Airfields in Central Syria. The IDF confirms carrying out airstrikes on the Palmyra military airport and the nearby T-4 airbase in central Syria. The strikes targeted “remaining strategic military capabilities” at the two sites.4. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced on Friday that Israel would annex areas of the Gaza Strip should the terror group Hamas refuse to release the remaining hostages it is still holding. It was unclear if Israel would follow through on its threat to annex parts of Gaza, a move that would likely draw a massive international backlash. 5. UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer comes off ground troops in Ukraine- stresses air and sea power instead. Speaking to journalists at Northwood UK Military HQ, Sir Keir insisted the priority had to be to support Ukraine in defending itself, “They've got the capability, they've got the numbers and they've got the frontline experience. So we're not talking about something that replaces that capability — we're talking about something that reinforces that and then put around it capabilities in relation to air, water and sea and land.”

C'est comme ça tous les jours ! », s'exclame le sportif.Sept jours sur sept, le Tchadien vient transpirer et terminer sa longue journée. Étudiant en management de la stratégie marketing, il travaille en intérim comme préparateur de commande pour gagner sa vie et s'inflige des heures de transport en partant de Corbeil-Essonnes, où il habite, de l'autre côté de Paris. « Je rentre très tard, je n'arrive pas à me reposer. Ce n'est pas facile tout ça, témoigne Casimir Betel. C'est aussi le parcours d'un athlète, donc j'essaie de tenir. Le plus important, c'est de faire un appel à l'État tchadien, aux responsables en charge du sport, de bien penser à moi parce que ça fait déjà deux ans que je suis en train de glaner des médailles pour mon pays. Je suis au top de mon niveau, mais j'ai besoin aussi de leur accompagnement. »Le top niveau, Casimir Betel l'a atteint en devenant l'an dernier numéro 1 mondial l'été dernier pendant plusieurs mois. Je lui souhaite beaucoup de force en espérant qu'il atteigne ses objectifs. »« L'objectif maintenant, c'est de chercher à accumuler des points, confie Casimir Betel. Participer aussi au Grand Prix avant la qualification des Jeux olympiques, être le tout premier Tchadien à qualifier le Tchad dans le domaine de taekwondo. Foreign Minister Winston Peters is en route to South Korea following his meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi overnight.
