The band sold 10 Million albums in 2 years in the early 70s and had 8 Top 40 hits including 2 #1s! Mark and I talked about the bands great legacy and of course his brand new album out NOW called "Closer To My Home"! More than a decade after the Flint Michigan water crisis, the federal Environmental Protection Agency is requiring all lead pipes across the country be removed within 10 years.  Fracking in Pennsylvania is an issue that's popped up in the U.S. Senate race between incumbent Democrat Bob Casey and Republican Dave McCormick. Both men support the practice, but polls show Pennsylvania voters are ambivalent on the topic.  A big change is coming to school buses in parts of Pennsylvania. The School District of Philadelphia has joined hundreds of districts nationwide going green.  A York County judge has been suspended without pay -- after he was indicted by a federal grand jury. A Greece-based company is planning to set up its first American manufacturing operation in Central Pennsylvania. Teachers in one Central Pennsylvania community have been working without a contract for about seven weeks. On April 24, 2021 when had our first guest on the show, Guy Merritt, a Flint Michigan native who joined our Facebook group and related his triangular UFO encounter with us. Quickly Guy became a friend of ours and we had him on multiple times as both a returning guest and co-host on the show. This was the interview that started it all. And more importantly, which ones? However, its not a complete picture as we can't possibly know about every attack vector (or can we?). People seem to think if they cover everything in the framework they will be secure. You can't cover everything in the framework because each technique can be utilized by an attack in a hundred different ways. CVSS - Anyone can apply a score, but who is correct? Good that we have a way to score things, but then people will just use this as a basis for what they patch and what they do not. Also, chaining vulnerabilities is a thing, but we seem to lack any way to assign a score to multiple vulnerabilities at once (different from a technique). Also, some things don't get a CVE, how are you tracking, assessing risk, and patching these? CISA KEV - Again, love the project and Tod is doing amazing work. However, what about things that do not get a CVE? Also, how do you track every incident of an attacker doing something in the wild? Also, there is frequency, just because something got exploited once, does that mean you need to patch it right away? How are we tracking how often something is exploited as it is not just a binary "yes, its exploited" or "no, it is not". EPSS - I do like the concept and Wade and Jay are doing amazing work. However, there seems to be a "gut reaction" thing going on where we do see things being exploited, but the EPSS score is low. How can we get better at predicting? We certainly have enough data, but are we collecting the right data to support a model that can tell us what the attackers will do next? Our featured interview tonight is with Noah Slasinski. Noah is a 28-year old pipe smoker from Michigan. His interview is part of our ongoing series of pipe smokers that are under the age of 30. He started with a Missouri Meerschaum hard wood pipe in his late teens and then tried just about every type of tobacco smoking and vaping, but eventually came back exclusively to pipe smoking about a year and a half ago. YouTube videos and Paul's Pipe Shop in Flint MI helped him along the way. Similar to some of our other younger pipe enthusiasts, Noah was influenced by writers and intellectuals that he appreciates, such as Carl Jung, C.S. Flint was once one of the richest cities in the United States. But in the 1980s, it was badly affected by the downturn in car manufacturing and by 2014 it was nearly bankrupt. To save money, the city switched its water supply away from Lake Huron to its own Flint River, but state officials failed to treat the river water properly. As a result lead, a powerful neurotoxin, was released into the drinking water.Despite mounting evidence, officials denied anything was wrong and it took them a year and a half to switch water supply back to Lake Huron. But many residents of Flint –a majority African-American city with high rates of poverty– have been left fearful about the long term impacts on their children.Rob Walker speaks to lifelong Flint resident Jeneyah McDonald who had two young children at the time. As the 19th and 21st U.S. Surgeon General, Dr. Vivek Murthy has faced some of the most difficult health crises in recent history. Murthy, appointed by Presidents Obama and Biden, shaped the federal response to the opioid epidemic, the rise of e-cigarettes, the Flint Michigan water crisis, and the COVID-19 pandemic. He also co-founded Doctors for America, which works to promote more affordable health care, and TrialNetworks, a biotechnology company that helps improve clinical drug trials. Murthy has pushed to reduce access to social media for young children, pointing out the harmful effects of bullying, a lack of in-person interactions, and harassment.  Recently, Murthy has written about and spoken on the negative health effects of loneliness, calling it an “epidemic” that increases the risk of early death and other social problems. In October 1992 Hired by the City of Flint (Mi.) Fire Department as career firefighter/EMT. In December 1995 Elected as Vice President for community relations by the Flint Firefighters Union Local #352. In 2001 Promoted to Apparatus/Operator. In 2014 Promoted to Quartermaster. In 2019 Retired. In 2010, he started the Flint Inner-City Youth Hockey Program for youngsters in his hometown (Nobody care about Hockey Boomer). His work with the program led to Phillips winning the NHL's prestigious Willie O'Ree Community Hero Award, which is named after the first Black man to play in the NHL. Phillips was recognized in 2019 during the NHL's annual televised awards ceremony in Las Vegas. Since retiring, he was hired as the Ontario Hockey League's director of cultural diversity and inclusion in 2020. He still plays in a local men's league twice a week and continues to referee games, both in the Flint area and in the Livonia Hockey Association.... Oh and we might talk about the water
