'a day mid January THERE was a disturbance felt in the FORCE' Kathleen Kennedy's control of Lucasfilm and Star Wars has come to an end. It was a COLD day in mid January at FARHQ, in the Awakens Base LOL LOL LOL January 15 'in the year of our STAR WARS' return 2026, when Lucasfilm announced that after 14 years of leading the studio, President Kathleen Kennedy was stepping down Dave Filoni, who worked closely with creator George Lucas to build the Lucasfilm animation department on Star Wars: The Clone Wars and helped launch Star Wars live-action series alongside Jon Favreau on The Mandalorian, will take on creative leadership of the company as President and Chief Creative Officer and Lynwen Brennan will serve as Co-President. Their close collaboration and more than 30 years of combined senior executive experience will carry Lucasfilm into its next chapter of storytelling, with a strong foundation of creative vision and operational leadership guiding the studio forward. On the latest episode of Fandom Awakens Radio 'Now TWO there are ...... Filoni v Brennan a New Character Begins Days of Future Star Wars - Your hosts David Senden and Kyle Wagner discuss highlights taken from Kathy's exit interview, we discuss the 2 Co-presidents thing (very interesting to GO all in on a James Gunn / Peter Safran DC Studios esc approach) Upcoming Star Wars movie projects, heavily focused on a theatrical return in 2026-2027, include The Mandalorian & Grogu (May 22, 2026), Shawn Levy's Starfighter (May 28, 2027), and Dave Filoni's New Republic-era film. Other active projects include a Rey-centric New Jedi Order film and a new trilogy from Simon Kinberg. Here is a breakdown of the announced Star Wars film projects: Definite & In-Development Films Untitled Rey Skywalker Movie: Directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, focusing on rebuilding the Jedi Order. Simon Kinberg Trilogy: A new trilogy currently in development. Projects in Limbo or Unknown Status Rogue Squadron: Patty Jenkins' project, previously shelved but reportedly back in consideration. James Mangold's Dawn of the Jedi: A "biblical epic" exploring the origin of the Force. Taika Waititi's Star Wars Movie: Announced, but with no firm production timeline. Lando: Originally a series, now being developed as a movie with Donald Glover. Ok I am gonna say (and WE all know far too well what a LOT of SW fans today LACK, patience .............. funny when you consider everything they learned they learned from Kenobi and Yoda LOL but anyway), I'd say the odds of a LOT of these projects seeing the light of day just SHOT up, as long as Disney's new CEO (unlike Bob the Blunder halfwit), doesn't try anything STUPID. That Hunt for Ben Solo situation told us a LOT a LOT, of what has really been a problem in Star Wars ....................... and it was NOT the internet's favorite Boogywoman, cause here's some reality for you, had she NOT taken the job at the time GL asked her *sigh* I think Star Wars would have truly come to an END HAHAHAHA to paraphase how YODA might it "Now TWO there are ...... Filoni v Brennan a New Character Begins Days of Future Star Wars" a BRAND NEW episode of Fandom Awakens Radio starts RIGHT NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Six feet tall. Silky smooth. Lockdown defender. Bucket-getter when needed.Iyla Jones isn't coming — she's already here.Hailing from Bellevue, Washington, this Class of 2029 combo guard is one of the most intriguing young prospects in the Pacific Northwest. With size, versatility, and a defensive motor that jumps off the screen, Iyla is quickly becoming a name college coaches, scouts, and hoop fans are learning not to forget.Welcome to the story of a future problem.Basketball has always been part of Iyla's life.Growing up in a hoops household, she watched her older sister — now a Division I player at the University of Nevada — train, compete, and grind daily. Add in a father who played the game and coached with intention, and basketball wasn't just an option… it was the language spoken at home.“I was like three or four,” Iyla shared. “My sister started playing, my dad played — it was an everyday conversation.”From backyard battles to two-on-two games with her brothers and dad, competition was normal. Losing wasn't accepted. Growth was expected. And it worked.Ask Iyla how she describes her game, and she doesn't hesitate:“I love defense more than offense.”That tells you everything.Yes — she can score.Yes — she can shoot.Yes — she can finish with footwork and touch. But what separates Iyla Jones is her defensive edge.Blocking three-pointers. Sliding with guards. Guarding multiple positions. Taking pride in stopping the other team's best player. She's a true combo guard who can play 1 through 5, impact the game without dominating the ball, and punish defenses when they forget she's there.Strengths at a glance:Position: Combo GuardSize: 6'0 (still growing)Game style: Smooth, versatile, two-wayLoves defense, embraces physicalityElite footwork + deadly floater packageThat euro-step into the right-hand floater? In today's Daily Fix:After months of rumors, Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy is stepping down. She will return to producing films, which is what she did throughout the 80's and 90's until her appointment as President of Lucasfilm when George Lucas sold the company to Disney. Taking her place is Dave Filoni who is already overseeing several Star Wars projects, and Lynwen Brennan, who has held executive positions at Lucasfilm since 1999. In other news, Julian Gerighty is leaving Ubisoft—where he worked on The Division and Star Wars Outlaws—for a job working on Battlefield for Electronic Arts. And finally, infamously bad DS game Cory in the House is being review bombs—but the opposite way than what we're used to seeing. The positive buzz is a result of an internet joke that's also cause copies of the game to skyrocket on eBay.

This Friday episode brings a game of Quote Roulette and the conclusion of the first-ever "Draft Week" to start your weekend. Brendan is ready to skip forward to Sunday afternoon's big Jets-Browns tilt at MetLife Stadium with rumors swirling that he may meet up with PJ to watch the game in-person. Andy and Brendan run through the early leaderboards for the HSBC Abu Dhabi Championship and World Wide Technology Championship before diving into press conference clippings from around the world. Rory McIlroy wasn't impressed by LIV's move to 72 holes and doesn't think they'll be getting too many OWGR points as things currently stand. Lee Westwood took exception to these remarks by the Masters champion, saying that Rory may change his mind next week on whatever he said anyway. Westy believes that the LIV fans are the biggest winners of this "innovation" as they'll be seeing an extra day of golf! Paul McGinley spoke to Bunkered about the impending DP World Tour fine decision on players like Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton. McGinley believes there are larger things at play for the future of the DP World Tour's existence and acknowledges that making Ryder Cup players be members is one of few cards the Euro circuit has left. Perhaps most importantly, there was some late-night beef between Joe Mayo and the Short Game Chef on Instagram on Wednesday night. In a now-deleted Instagram post, Mayo started a grease fire in the Chef's kitchen, airing out some past texts and conversations and calling out the Chef's teachings. Andy and Brendan are giddy about this long-winded IG caption and lose it when Joseph LaMagna joins in to share a comment about "extra Mayo." Lastly, the President of the PGA of America spoke to the 31,000 or 34,000 or 37,000 members this week and apologized for "harming the association" in past months. We play the audio of this apology and have added it to the soundboard. "Draft Week" wraps up with a double whammy and a new guest: Joseph joins Andy, Brendan, and PJ to draft 2026 Pro Golf Venues AND the best players in the world age 28-and-younger.

Where do Formula 1 teams spot the drivers of the future? What are they looking for in young racers? And how did Mercedes guide Kimi Antonelli from karting to F1? F1 Explains explores junior driver programmes, which exist to find talented young drivers and support them as they climb the motorsport ladder. Most F1 teams have these academies. Red Bull signed a young Max Verstappen, Ferrari supported Charles Leclerc and Oliver Bearman, Lando Norris was part of the McLaren programme, and Mercedes developed George Russell, Kimi Antonelli and Esteban Ocon during their junior racing. F1 ACADEMY leader Doriane Pin is also part of the Mercedes Junior Driver Programme. She tells Christian Hewgill how Mercedes spotted her and answers your questions on what the team is doing to support her career. The Mercedes programme is led by Gwen Lagrue, the man who discovered Russell, Antonelli and Ocon. Gwen explains how he identifies those with the most potential, guides them into junior car racing and decides when they are ready to step up to Formula 3, F2 and, finally, F1.
