A growing number of writers are incorporating AI tools into their workflow. Those who've kept an open mind and experimented with different approaches and ways to increase their productivity and scale their creativity have seen remarkable improvements in both the quality and quantity of their work, allowing them to stay ahead in an ever-evolving industry. The current models are powerful out of the box. But what if there was a way to take things a step further and create personalized AI tools tailored to your unique needs? In this episode, I sit down with Erynn LaFlamme, founder and CEO of Ethic Agency, a marketing agency based in Metro Atlanta. Erynn and I discuss how writers can harness the power of custom GPTs to handle nuanced parts of their client workflow. Erynn has become an expert in using AI for content creation, and she walks us through the process of building Custom GPTs and shares real-world examples of how her team is leveraging this technology to produce better work. We dive deep into: The difference between Custom GPTs and using standard ChatGPT Key steps involved in creating GPTs for specific clients Challenges and ethical considerations in AI-powered workflows How to refine and improve Custom GPTs over time Deciding when to use a Custom GPT versus a general AI tool We also explore what this means for the future of freelance writers and content professionals—will AI replace us, or will it become an essential tool in our toolkit? Whether you're curious about integrating AI into your business or looking for ways to refine your processes, this episode offers some very practical ideas, insights and tips.

Sadie Laflamme-Snow shot out the gate and into Hollywood in a big way. Just a couple of years after graduating from the National Theatre School of Canada, Laflamme-Snow scored a lead role in a Hallmark series opposite two industry heavyweights, Andie MacDowell and Chyler Leigh. Since premiering in January 2023, The Way Home has amassed an adoring fanbase that spans generations, and is credited with opening many minds to Hallmark content. Laflamme-Snow plays Alice, a teenager whose parents are on the cusp of divorce. Even though her mother, Kat (Leigh), is estranged from her mother, Del (MacDowell), they move back into her childhood home together, a house in a small farm town called Port Haven. While exploring the property, Alice makes a game-changing discovery. By jumping into a pond in the woods, Alice can time travel. But, Alice isn't in control of where (when) she goes. That's up to the pond, and it opts to send her back to 1999, the year that drastically changed Kat and Del's lives and their connection to one another. While celebrating The Way Home's Season 2 run on Hallmark Channel, Laflamme-Snow took the time to join me for a Collider Ladies Night Pre-Party conversation to recap how she scored such a wonderful opportunity so soon after graduation, to dig into Alice's evolution on the show thus far, and to tease some challenges the character could face in the second half of Season 2. In this Physiotutors podcast episode, Canadian researcher Yannick Tousignant-Laflamme introduces the Pain and Disability Drivers Management Model, a groundbreaking approach to understanding and managing chronic musculoskeletal pain, particularly low back pain. This model identifies five key domains across three dimensions, going beyond biomechanics to reveal the root causes of pain and disability. It underscores the significance of interdisciplinary collaboration and effective communication among healthcare professionals. By integrating classification systems and prognostic tools, this model optimizes its effectiveness. Classification systems pinpoint patient subgroups, while prognostic tools screen for psychological factors affecting pain outcomes. Clinicians are encouraged to utilize these tools for screening, delving deeper for medium or high-risk patients. The incorporation of questionnaires and patient-reported outcome measures informs evidence-based decision-making. The ultimate aim? Personalized, evidence-based care for musculoskeletal conditions, addressing both physical and psychosocial factors. Curious to learn more about this innovative approach? Tune in to the full episode for a comprehensive exploration. Guest Canadian researcher Yannick Tousignant-Laflamme is a professor at the School of Rehabilitation at the University of Sherbrooke.
In the first part of our series, we talked with Dr. Laflamme. About the advances made in stem cell biology. Today we welcome back our guest, Dr. Michael Laflamme to continue our discussion on the research and clinical trials taking place using induced pluripotent stem cells in cardiac regenerative medicine.
Whatever your opinion of the monarchy, it's always fascinating to walk into a history textbook. Saturday's coronation of King Charles III was the first such event since the 1950s, and the rituals performed go back a millennium. On a rainy London Saturday, Canadian broadcaster Lisa LaFlamme was live from the ceremony, taking in all the pomp and circumstance, as well as the challenges and uncertain future of the Crown. What did the ceremony look like? What was changed for a modern audience? Who is King Charles III and does he understand the task in front of him if he's to keep his family relevant?GUEST: Lisa LaFlamme, reporting for CityNews from London
Journalist Lisa LaFlamme has been called “Canada's Katie Couric.” She was the familiar face coming into viewers' homes and delivering the news each night, having worked for CTV for 35 years. But last summer, she became the face of female outrage when she was unceremoniously let go from her job anchoring the evening news. Her former employers denied ageism or sexism played a role in her firing, but viewers wondered if her choice to go gray during the pandemic - as so many women did - was the real cause. Katie and Lisa dive into the unequal pressures women face in the workforce, why we lionize men who've gone gray, the “isms” they've both faced as women in media, and so much more. On the patio of a pub near Green Park in London, the Star's Rosie DiManno and Canadian journalist Lisa LaFlamme, on special assignment for City News, discuss what they are seeing as the city prepares for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II on Monday. This episode was produced by Rosie DiManno, Lisa LaFlamme, Raju Mudhar and Sean Pattendon.

Ageism, sexism, bad management, and incredibly poor messaging, today's PR crisis has it all! This week's podcast focuses on Bell Media's ousting of Lisa LaFlamme and her replacement by a younger male, shortly after the beloved CTV Anchor allowed herself to go gray. This podcast looks at the importance of truth and transparency in a PR response, and when a statement should be replaced by an apology. Tune in to hear the statement Bell Media put out, why it was a bad statement, why it created such a blowback, and how the statement should have been written to avert a PR crisis. Guest: Amanda Watson, senior lecturer and sociologist at Simon Fraser University It's been two weeks since journalist Lisa LaFlamme announced she'd been let go from her job as chief news anchor and senior editor at CTV National News. The decision came two years before LaFlamme's contract was up and despite the fact she presided over one of Canada's most watched newscasts. The network said a “business decision” and “changing viewer habits” inspired the action, but many aren't buying it. We take a look at how LaFlamme's dismissal has sparked a national conversation on sexism and age discrimination in the media and other workplaces. This episode was produced by Saba Eitizaz, Alexis Green and Paulo Marques Audio Sources: CTV News, Twitter
Dove put out an ad campaign this week talking about how everyone should be supporting going grey and that women are, "being edged out of the workplace" because of their hair colour. This comes after long time CTV News anchor, Lisa LaFlamme, was let go from the company stating that it was a, "business decision." People are seeing this as a bit of a wink and jab at Bell Media over their firing of LaFlamme and people are beginning to boycott the media company. Is this what Dove was after? Elissa Freeman, Communications Strategist and Pop Culture Expert, joined Alex to discuss this.

My guest and today and I worked together in Club Med Cancun in 2004/2005. His first season was also in Club Med Cancun, but in September of the 1999/2000 season as a Bar G.O. From beautiful Montreal, please help me welcome, Eric Laflamme! Before Club Med, Eric was attending Concordia University in Montreal for Jazz Interpretation (Eric plays the sax) and a friend suggested he would make a good bartender. Then another friend, who he was working with at a golf course, suggested he'd make a good fit at Club Med and to apply. That friend turned out to be a recruiter for Club Med, but she did not tell Eric that! Eric had his interview in Montreal and was sent to Cancun not long after that. He recounts his first season in great detail and the highlight for him that season of many highlights, was hosting Atlantis for the week. After our season together in 2005, Eric went back to work for Club Med in Punta Cana in 2019 to be the GM of the Indigo beach lounge, but also to unwind and recharge his batteries. Fun fact: his niece started working at Club Med the same year he went back! Eric also shares his tip when asked how to get the bartender's attention and to get served first (assuming you cannot tip and looks are not a factor), when it's very busy at the bar. Please enjoy this episode with Eric! **My First Season podcast has always been free to listen to and is available on: Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Samsung Podcasts, Podbean App, Spotify, Amazon Music/Audible, TuneIn + Alexa, iHeartRadio, PlayerFM, Pandora and Listen Notes. Plot:Doug Glatt (Sean William Scott), a bouncer at a bar in Massachusetts, feels ostracized from society, especially since his father and brother are both successful physicians. Doug attends a minor league hockey game with his best friend Pat (Jay Baruchel). Pat taunts the visiting team during a fight and one of their players climbs into the stands, calling him a homosexual slur. Doug (whose brother is gay) steps in and easily beats up the opposing player, as Pat films him, and the video goes is played on Pats hockey show, prompting the coach to call in and tell Doug to come try out as an enforcer. -I like how it starts, with the fight;-I cant see Sean William Scott and not see Stiffler-Jays hair is rediculous, with the cuts...and one is crooked-That was a brutal fight-Are those the guys from the Trailer Park Boys in the studio?-Good for Doug getting his 'thing'-Jay has a terrible Boston accent Meanwhile, veteran enforcer and Doug's idol Ross "The Boss" Rhea (Liev Schreiber) is demoted to the minors after serving a 20-game suspension for slashing an opponent in the head from behind. Three years prior, Rhea hit and concussed the highly-skilled prospect Xavier Laflamme (Marc-André Grondin), who has had trouble recovering from the incident due to the fear of being hit, resulting in his being stuck in the minors. After earning the nickname "The Thug," Doug was hired by a farm team in Canada where Laflamme plays, the Halifax Highlanders, to protect Laflamme and be his roommate. The Highlanders experience success with Doug as their enforcer, and he quickly becomes popular among fans and teammates, much to the chagrin of his parents and Laflamme, who loses ice time and the alternate-captaincy to Doug.Doug also becomes romantically involved with Eva (Alison Pill), a hockey fan with a penchant for players. -So he went from not playing hockey, to an amateur team, to a pro team in, like, 2-3 games?-Def weird to sign someones dick. The Eva arch is interesting... Not sure what scared her off.-She walked in talking to her bf, and only pulled back after they kissed? With four games left on their schedule, the Highlanders need two wins to secure a playoff spot. On a road game in Quebec after an opposing player concusses Laflamme with a heavy hit, Doug savagely beats the player unconscious and is suspended for the next game against Rhea and the St. John's Shamrocks. Doug encounters Rhea at a diner, where Rhea dismisses Doug's claim that he is a hockey player, calling him a goon. Though Rhea acknowledges Doug's physical prowess and gives Doug his respect, Rhea warns him that if they ever meet on the ice, he will "lay [him] the fuck out." The Highlanders (with Doug suspended and Laflamme hospitalized) lose to the Shamrocks. Doug reaches out to Laflamme, and promises him he will always have his back on the ice. In their next game, the Highlanders lead 1–0 thanks to strong teamwork between Doug and Laflamme. -Glad his family showed up, they're supportive-Doug in the bedroom was intense-Did Doug let the guy check LeFlamme? and fake going after him afterwards?-Eva calling herself a slut and admitting to sleeping around was an odd turn-Interesting meeting between Doug and Rhea-Stomach light?-I don't understand the turn around with LeFlamme In the final seconds, Doug blocks a slapshot with his face and his ankle is injured in the ensuing scramble. The Highlanders win, but they need a win against Rhea and the Shamrocks in their last game for a playoff spot. After two periods, the Shamrocks are beating the Highlanders 2–0. Rhea and Doug drop the gloves in the third period. Doug is knocked down first, but Rhea calls off the linesmen and allows him to get back up. Doug manages to break Rhea's nose, but breaks his previously injured ankle in the process. Doug manages to stand back up and knocks out Rhea with a vicious left hook. Eva and his teammates help a seriously injured Doug off the ice and Laflamme, inspired by Doug's efforts and Rhea's defeat, scores a natural hat trick, giving the Highlanders a 3–2 lead.As the game enters its final minute, the final scene has Eva comforting Doug in the locker room as he comments, "I think I nailed him." -Damn the puck to the face... but a good stop.-Do Doug and Rhea will meet in the playoffs, and LaFlamme doesn't walk on the logo-The music during the last game was weird... very tense and ominous. Not what you'd expect.-Whats with the weak ankles? Never mentioned before the fight.-That fight was pretty epic and brutal, worth the wait.-Like how Rhea smiled when he was getting up-Good, happy ending. The end Top Five Trivia of the movie: TOP 5 FACTSSeann William Scott gained weight for the role of Doug Glatt, as well as taking intensive skating lessons and fighting on ice.A great majority of the cast is comprised by Canadian actors, including the well-established actors in Hollywood like Jay Baruchel, Kim Coates, Alison Pill and Eugene Levy. The only non-Canadians in major roles are Minnesota-native Seann William Scott and New Yorker Liev Schreiber. Ironically, Baruchel plays an American character (a thickly-accented Massachusetts native) in the film, while Schreiber plays a Canadian character. The scene where Rhea sheds crocodile tears during a press conference was a reference to NHL player Todd Bertuzzi. Bertuzzi, playing for the Vancouver Canucks at the time, punched Colorado Avalanche's Steve Moore in the back of the head during a game causing an injury that would end Moore's career. In a press conference afterwards, an emotional Bertuzzi tearfully apologized for the incident, which cost him a $500,000 salary deduction and a 17 month suspension.Seann William Scott gained weight for the role of Doug Glatt, as well as taking intensive skating lessons and fighting on ice.In an interview with hockey blog Puck Daddy, Liev Schreiber notes that he was inspired by former hockey enforcer Bob Probert. As an homage to the player, he taped his wrists for the film, just as Probert had done when he played. **TRIPLE LINDY AWARD** **REVIEW AND RATING** TOP 5Stephen:1 Breakfast club2 T23 Sandlot4 Back to the Future5 Mail order brides Chris:1. sandlots2.
