The acting president of Zambia's main opposition Patriotic Front (PF) party says the country's High Court missed the point when it dismissed the case brought by six PF presidential candidates challenging the election of Miles Sampa as the party president. According to the Lusaka Times, the court said the plaintiffs failed to respond to Sampa's application to dismiss their case. Patriotic Front acting president Given Lubinda tells VOA's James Butty, the court did not address the petitioners' complaint that they were denied their constitutional right to participate in the party leadership election by Miles Sampa.

Have you ever wondered how to balance your faith and pursue your purpose? Today's episode dives into a topic that resonates with us all - living and working purposefully. I'm joined by the remarkable Sampa Kaidee, a model and founder of Modelling In Purpose. Born in Zambia, she moved to Cape Town to pursue her modeling dream, where she has been based for three years. Sampa's journey in the fashion industry has been a mix of rewards and lessons, helping her discover her identity in the eyes of God amid societal beauty standards. Her quest for purpose within modeling led to the creation of Modelling In Purpose. This platform aims to build a community of purpose-driven women making a positive impact in the fashion industry. This episode is for you whether you're at a crossroads in your career, searching for meaning, or simply curious about the power of purpose. Romans 12:2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is–his good, pleasing, and perfect will. Here's what to expect in today's episode: How have you navigated staying true to your purpose? How faith can be a source of inspiration for promoting positive body image and redefining beauty standards within the industry? What challenges and successes have you faced while maintaining a strong Christian identity in a secular environment? Grab your beverage of choice, get comfy, and enjoy the conversation! Pan fried, artisanal, gourmet: there's a fashion for foodie words. Why? In this episode, Ruth Alexander finds out how restaurants use language, psychology and behavioural economics to whet your appetite and increase their profits. Linguist Dr Keri Matwick of Nanyang Technological University in Singapore explains the research that shows the longer the description of a dish, the more expensive on average it is. Chef Caroline Martins of Sampa at Blossom Street Social Wine Bar in Manchester, England talks about the mistakes she made when she first designed her menus. Sean Willard of Menu Engineers in California gives us an insight into the power of using a box on the menu. And thanks to listener Simon in London who emailed thefoodchain@bbc.co.uk with the idea for the programme. Neither he nor we will look at a menu in the same way again. Presented by Ruth Alexander. Produced by Beatrice Pickup. (Image: a woman holding a menu in front of her face. Credit: Getty Images/BBC)

Sampa The Great is a songwriter, rapper, and singer from Zambia. She was based in Australia for years, but came back to Zambia in 2020, shortly before the pandemic hit. When she couldn't travel, she decided to make her next album there in Lusaka. The album is called As Above, So Below, and it was produced by Mag44. In this episode, Sampa the Great and Mag44 break down the closing song "Let Me Be Great," which features vocals from legendary West African singer Angélique Kidjo, winner of 5 Grammys and one of TIME's Most Influential People.
