Building a Successful Coaching Business: Key Insights from Business Coaching Secrets Podcast In our latest episode of "Business Coaching Secrets," Karl Bryan and co-host Road Dog dive deep into strategies for building a thriving coaching business. Whether you're an experienced coach or just starting out, this episode is packed with valuable insights. Here are three key takeaways: Go All In for Success: Many coaches fail because they are half-hearted about their business. Carl emphasizes the importance of commitment and having a clear vision. This is akin to Mel Fisher's relentless 17-year pursuit of treasure, driven by three core beliefs: Belief that the opportunity exists : Conviction that business owners are out there and want to grow. Belief in your capability : Confidence that you can be the one they choose to guide them. Belief in the worthiness of the journey : Understanding that the trials and tribulations will be worth it in the end. Avoid Unforced Errors: Drawing parallels with sports, Carl explains how unforced errors can be detrimental in business. Some common mistakes include: Focusing on the wrong clients : Spending too much time on squeaky wheel clients rather than the profitable 20%. Neglecting fundamentals : Like tennis players who keep the ball in play, business owners need to stay consistent with their core practices to avoid costly mistakes. Build a Personal Brand: Personal branding can set you apart in a crowded market. Carl points out how successful individuals like Tony Robbins and Elon Musk get paid more for who they are than what they do: Use social media effectively : Create content that resonates with your audience and share it consistently. Evolve your brand : Just like Mark Zuckerberg rebranded himself over time, be willing to adapt and grow your personal brand. Be memorable and inspiring : Craft a vision that makes others take notice. Remember the power of a big, bold statement. Check out the full episode for more insights and actionable advice on driving success in your coaching business!

In the Florida Keys, the ocean isn't just part of the scenery. Because beneath those shimmering teal waters, there are adventures and discoveries just waiting to be found. And in today's episode, we'll explore two very different - yet equally captivating - gems of the Keys, with excerpts from two different episodes of the 30-part Florida Keys Traveler podcast. First, join host Elizabeth Harryman Lasley as she visits Marathon's Dolphin Research Center. Mandy Rodriguez co-founded DRC in 1984 as a research facility where dolphins are cared for and nurtured in a forever home. The results are something you'll have to hear to believe. (Hint: It really is possible to speak with them - and doing so has saved many lives). Then, Elizabeth speaks with Kim Fisher. In 1985, Kim's father Mel Fisher finally found the object of a deep-sea search spanning nearly 17 years. The Atocha shipwreck was named by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most valuable shipwreck treasure ever recovered, then worth an estimated $400 million. In this episode, the lads delve into one of the most famous shipwrecks of all time the 17th-century Spanish treasure galleon The Atocha. Sinking in a hurricane in 1622 with over $400 million in treasure aboard, no one found a trace of the wreck or its treasure until Mel Fisher an American treasure hunter took his family in 1970 and began what would become a 16-year search for the missing vessel.
A boy's adventure in Dingle Bay with his Dad becomes even more amazing when he meets Fungi, the Dingle Dolphin.

Barry and Abigail discuss How to Save a Life by The Fray and sample Mel's Gold Ale, 32958 Hazy IPA, Dubbeldolia, Slow Paddle Porter, and Voluntold Oatmeal Stout from Pareidolia Brewing Co. in Sebastian, Florida. Special thanks to Pete Anderson, Co-Owner and Head Brewer of Pareidolia Brewing Co., for sitting down with us to discuss the history of the brewery! Mel's Gold Ale is named for Mel Fisher, a world-famous American treasure-hunter. Mel Fisher's Treasure Museum is located just up the street from Pareidolia in Sebastian. Sales of Knee Deep in Peaches Smash Beer raised money for StacheStrong, an organization that supports brain cancer research. Knee Deep in Peaches was also a collaboration with Waycross, Georgia, band The Pine Box Dwellers. The band designed the beer's logo and can art. When Barry was recently in Asheville, North Carolina, he visited White Labs Brewing Co., who are known for brewing beers of nearly identical recipes, only altering the yeast, to produce noticeable differences in flavor and aroma. How to Save a Life was once certified as the best-selling digital album of all time at the time, beating the record previously held by Coldplay's X&Y. Kim Fisher's dad, Mel Fisher who discovered one of the richest treasure troves ever found was an Indiana-born former chicken farmer who eventually moved to California. He opened the first diving shop in the state, it was called "See Da Sea". In 1953, he married Dolores (Deo) Horton who became his business partner. She was one of the first women to learn how to dive and set a women's record by staying underwater for 50 hours. Mel and Deo had five children: sons Terry, Dirk, Kim and Kane, and daughter Taffi. On July 20, 1975 Mel's oldest son Dirk, his wife Angel, and diver Rick Gage died after their boat sank due to bilge pump failure during their quest for treasure.[1] Mel ventured through decades treasure hunting in the Florida Keys with the motto Today's the Day.Fisher found the Spanish galleon Nuestra Senora de Atocha. He discovered silver bars from the wreck in 1973, and in 1975, Dirk found five bronze cannons whose markings would prove to be that of the Atocha. Only days later, Dirk, Angel, and Rick Gage, were killed. The estimated $450 million cache recovered, known as "The Atocha Motherlode," included 40 tons of gold and silver; there were some 114,000 of the Spanish silver coins known as "pieces of eight",gold coins, Columbian Emeralds, gold and silver artifacts, and 1000 silver ingots.Large as it was, this was only roughly half of the treasure that went down with the Atocha. The stern castleof the ship holding more gold and Muzo emeralds has not been found as of August 2017. Also still missing are 300 silver bars and 8 bronze cannons, among other things. It was one of the biggest thrills of my radio career to meet Mel's son, Kim Fisher, who has been on the treasure hunt since the very beginning. He brought actual Gold bars and jewelry from the Atocha into the studio and let us hold it in our unworthy hands. Take a trip thru history with us as we explore the sunken ship, the Atocha.
A small chapel was built in Spain in the year 1150. Its name translates into English as, “Our Lady of the High Grasses,” because a religious icon was lost and then found in the high grasses or “tocha” nearby. For nearly 1,000 years, this chapel of Nuestra Señora de Atocha has been standing in the center of Madrid, with the life of the city revolving around it. Well, not exactly “this chapel.” In 1890, when the original chapel could no longer be repaired, Pope Pius IX commissioned that a Neo-Byzantine Basilica* be built to replace it. That Basilica was destroyed during the Spanish Civil war and its reconstruction was completed in 1951. All things considered, it is not the chapel itself but the idea of “Our Lady of the High Grasses” that has been around since 1150. The original chapel was 470 years old when the Mayflower disembarked on Plymouth Rock in 1620, the same year that representatives of King Philip IV of Spain took possession of a new galleon that had been constructed for him in the shipyards of Havana. Christened as the Nuestra Señora de Atocha after the old chapel in Madrid, this new galleon was 112 feet long, made of mahogany instead of oak, and required a crew of 110 men. The crew's first job was to deliver 40 tons of gold and silver from Central America to King Phillip IV in Spain. It took them more than 2 months just to load it all onto the ship. The heavily armed Atocha was given the honor of sailing as the almirante, or rear guard of a 28-ship convoy. But those 28 ships Captains weren't thinking about pirates when they set sail for Spain on September 4, 1622. The protracted loading of the ships had caused them to depart 6 weeks late. They were sailing into the heart of hurricane season. On the morning of September 6, just two days after setting sail from Havana harbor, the remains of 8 of those 28 ships lay scattered from Marquesas Key to the Dry Tortugas. The mighty Nuestra Señora de Atocha sank in 56 feet of water, losing all of her 265 passengers, soldiers, sailors, and slaves except for 3 sailors and 2 slaves who survived by clinging to the top of the mizzenmast. A few weeks after those 5 were rescued, a second hurricane swept the ship and its treasure to parts unknown. The Spanish government searched for the wreck of the Atocha for more than 60 years. And then it became the stuff of legend. Four hundred million dollars-worth of sunken Spanish treasure was lying somewhere on the shallow ocean floor near Key West, Florida, free for the taking. During the 20th century, the treasure of the Nuestra Señora de Atocha was discovered hundreds of times in just 30 feet of water by boats full of people who chose to ignore it. Princess Pennie and I were the guests of Mel Fisher and his family in Key West, Florida, shortly before Mel died in 1998. It was Mel's son, Kim, who told us of the hundreds of fishing lures they pulled off that pile of treasure before lifting those gold bars into the sunlight in July of 1985. And so our story goes full circle: a ship's treasure was lost, and then found, in the high grasses of the ocean 835 years after the treasure for which it was named was lost, and then found, in the high grasses of central Spain. Spain… bullfighting… Ernest Hemingway… Key West Considering that Ernest Hemingway spent 27 years of his life on the Pilar, his custom-made fishing boat in Key West, I am reasonably confident that at least one of those fabled fishing lures was his. But even so, Hemingway would have been just one of the countless sport fishermen who returned to Key West at the end of the day to drink a beer and tell a story about catching “a big one” that broke their line. Yes, those fishermen caught a big one indeed. Perhaps the biggest one ever. Roy H. Williams *In the Catholic faith, a church is any place of worship that has a permanent...

241 - Brad Manard Brad Manard is an author in addition to being a musician. Along with Captain Tony Tarracino, Manard penned the book Life Lessons of a Legend, which is the story of Captain Tony sometimes known as the "Salt of Key West." Along with Ernest Hemingway and Jimmy Buffett, Tarracino is among a handful of Key West legends. So what was it that made Captain Tony so special? What did he do? I think an easier question would be what did Captain Tony not do. As a young man he was a gambler who fled to New Jersey from the Mob. In his life he was a fishing and charter boat captain in Key West. He owned Captain Tony's Saloon located on Greene Street in Key West—the oldest bar in Florida. His best friends included Tennessee William, Truman Capote, Shel Silverstein and Mel Fisher…just to name a few. The 1970s movie Cuba Crossing was made about his trip to Cuba to transport government assassins. Captain Tony was the surrogate father of singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett and the inspiration behind his classic song “Last Mango in Paris.” Captain Tony was elected mayor of Key West in 1989 at 73 years old. Captain Tony was also a very prolific man. He fathered 13 children with 50 years separating the oldest and youngest child. Most importantly I believe Captain Tony was a storyteller. Perhaps one of the best and everyone who met him loved him. Originally broadcast on the radio, this interview is now available to the podcast audience. Our best friend Christopher Stevens joins us to discuss unforgettable stories from over a decade of working in the ER, Mel Fisher and the quest for sunken treasure. The gang shares some of their own memorable Key West adventures, Gaston continues to enjoy his soundboard.
The Atocha has proved to be the motherlode for Mel Fisher's Treasure Hunters. Shipwrecked in 1622, it was loaded down with gold, copper, silver and emeralds. The Spanish crown tried for years to find it, and never succeeded. Mel Fisher and team tried for 16 years to find it - and finally had success! Then the court battle began - the State of Florida wanted to claim a large part of the treasure. It was today, Feb. 5, 1986, that U.S. District Judge William O. Mehrtens ruled the wreckage of the Nuestra Senora de Atocha belonged to Treasure Salvors, the firm that found the galleon 45 miles west of Key West. And that's what happened Today in Key West History. Today in Key West History is brought to you by 43 Keys Media. You can visit us at http://43Keys.com.

On his last day in Key West, Florida in August, Dennis visits the home of local writer and publicist Carol Shaughnessy to hear her recall the extraordinary tale of legendary local treasure hunter Mel Fisher and his 16-year quest to find sunken Spanish treasure off the coast of Key West. Carol talks about her personal connection to the story, the everyday artifact they found that captured her imagination, what happened after the big discovery, the resulting Supreme Court case and how the story exemplifies the independent spirit of Key West. Carol also talks about how she ended up moving to Key West from Minnesota (it involves a pink taxi), the day it rained emeralds and the way the people of Key West support each other in the pursuit of their dreams. Other topics include: the giant sea-to-sea rainbow flag that traversed the island in 2003, her favorite bad movie, her hidden talent and her hardcore "Murder She Wrote" habit. www.fla-keys.com
In this podcast, Stefan shares with you 3 core beliefs that you need to have in order to be successful in your online business. Before he gets into the beliefs, Stefan tells a very powerful story that he heard at Tony Robbins' Business Mastery Seminar. In 1985, a man named Mel Fisher found the 1622 wreck of the Spanish Nuestra Señora de Atocha, which was a treasure that was worth $500 million. It took him 16 years of your life to find this treasure. He sacrificed so much time, energy, and money on this journey, not even knowing if the treasure existed. This experience is a testament to his willpower, determination and hard work. For someone to spend 16 years of their life pursuing something, they have to have an extraordinary mindset and belief system. There are 3 core beliefs that Mel Fisher possessed, that allowed him to succeed and to find this treasure, and that you need to adopt in your online business.
