To honor his memory we are rereleasing episode 93 featuring former NFL Pro Bowler, Nick Mangold who joined us to talk barbecue and football. On the same episode we had former MLB pitcher, Jerry Reuss who pitched in the Major Leagues for 22 years. Nick Mangold played center in the National Football League for 11 years as a member of the New York Jets, was a seven time Pro Bowl selection and considered by many to be one of the best at his position. He also makes one heck of a BBQ sauce and is determined to have his sauce take its place among the finest and most well known names on store shelves everywhere. The passion with which he played football is the same passion he gives Seventy Four BBQ (74 BBQ), which are the line-up of sauces he is rolling out. We had fun speaking with Nick regarding his playing career and how he transformed from a home kitchen sauce maker into a sauce king who is managing to make others take notice as he puts out a superb tasting product. What does family planning and a beard have to do with 74 BBQ? Listen and you will find out. Jerry Reuss pitched for 22 years in the Major Leagues, finishing his career with 220 wins and a World Series Championship as a member of the 1981 Los Angeles Dodgers. Along the way, he pitched a no-hitter, amassed 1,907 strikeouts, a 3.64 ERA, and was a two-time All Star. He is the author of the book, Bring in the Right Hander, a well-known prankster, and appeared with some of his 1981 World Serious Champion Dodgers on the television show, Solid Gold as they sang “We are the Champions.” 22 years in the Major Leagues does not go by without having a few stories, and we were glad to listen to as many as Jerry would tell We recommend you go to Rogue Cookers website, https://roguecookers.com/ for award-winning rubs, Baseball BBQ, https://baseballbbq.com for special grilling tools and accessories, Magnechef https://magnechef.com/ for excellent and unique barbecue gloves, Cutting Edge Firewood High Quality Kiln Dried Firewood - Cutting Edge Firewood in Atlanta for high quality firewood and cooking wood, Mantis BBQ, https://mantisbbq.com/ to purchase their outstanding sauces with a portion of the proceeds being donated to the Kidney Project, and for exceptional sauces, Elda's Kitchen https://eldaskitchen.com/ We truly appreciate our listeners and hope that all of you are staying safe. It's the unofficial start to the weekend and even though both Jean & Office Cora were out today, Brian still hooked you up with a few things to do in the 715 this weekend! Plus, it's been a few weeks since we played "Hypothetical Thursday" with the CMN Radioton on the 9th and Brian on vacation last Thursday, but Brian got back to it by asking "If you could own ONE piece of horror movie memorabilia, what would it be and why?" And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a #FloridaMan who was the epitome of hypocritical, an uptick in screaming clubs, a kid in Baltimore was almost arrested because his bag of Doritos was mistaken for a gun, a woman is facing charges after sending her husband an A.I. generated picture of an intruder in their home, and a guy in Thailand who was performing penis-enlargement surgeries out of the back of his Toyota Corolla.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Rob, Jeremy, and Joe took some time from Thursday's BBMS to discuss the NFL's decision to move the Pro Bowl games to the Tuesday before the Super Bowl. Do you think that will get some more eyes on the event?
On the latest Orange and Brown Talk podcast, Mary Kay Cabot, Ashley Bastock and Dan Labbe address one of the pressing questions facing the Browns and their struggling offense: Should Shedeur Sanders be getting a look? While starter Dillon Gabriel gets all the first-team reps, the passing game continues to struggle, and his performance hasn't quieted the calls for the other rookie. With a matchup against the New England Patriots and their elite run defense looming, the offense can't just rely on Quinshon Judkins; they need veterans Jerry Jeudy and David Njoku to have feel-good games and prove their Pro Bowl status. On the other side of the ball, the Browns have a championship caliber defense that just had a dominant, get-right game. Can Jim Schwartz's aggressive scheme rattle Patriots QB Drake Maye and carry the team to another victory? We break it all down on Wednesday's episode. pWotD Episode 3090: Joe Flacco Welcome to popular Wiki of the Day, spotlighting Wikipedia's most visited pages, giving you a peek into what the world is curious about today. With 387,478 views on Friday, 17 October 2025 our article of the day is Joe Flacco.Joseph Vincent Flacco (born January 16, 1985) is an American professional football quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Pittsburgh Panthers and the Delaware Fightin' Blue Hens before being selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round of the 2008 NFL draft.Flacco was Baltimore's starting quarterback from 2008 until midway through the 2018 season, helping lead the Ravens to the playoffs six times during his tenure in Baltimore. The Ravens won the AFC North twice, appeared in three AFC Championship Games, and won Super Bowl XLVII following the 2012 season. Flacco was named Super Bowl XLVII's MVP, concluding a postseason run in which he tied Joe Montana's single postseason record for touchdown passes (11) without an interception. That off-season, he signed a six-year contract worth $120.6 million, a record high for a quarterback at the time.A decline in performance and a hip injury resulted in Flacco losing his starting position to rookie backup Lamar Jackson; he was subsequently traded to the Denver Broncos in 2019. A neck injury cut his season short and he was waived by the Broncos with a failed physical designation. Flacco joined the Jets in 2020 as a backup to Sam Darnold. He then signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2021, but was traded back to the Jets after they lost Zach Wilson to injury. Flacco joined the Browns midway through the 2023 season following a season-ending injury to Deshaun Watson. He led Cleveland to a playoff berth and won the Comeback Player of the Year award. He later signed a one-year deal with the Indianapolis Colts before returning to Cleveland in 2025. After early-season struggles and losing the starting position, Flacco was traded to the Cincinnati Bengals. As of the 2023 NFL season, Flacco has the most career passing yards and touchdowns for any quarterback who has never been to a Pro Bowl (he was invited to the 2015 Pro Bowl following the 2014 season, but declined). At the height of his career, Flacco was also known for having one of the strongest arms in the NFL.This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 02:52 UTC on Saturday, 18 October 2025.For the full current version of the article, see Joe Flacco on Wikipedia. This podcast uses content from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.Visit our archives at wikioftheday.com and subscribe to stay updated on new episodes.Follow us on Mastodon at @wikioftheday@masto.ai.Also check out Curmudgeon's Corner, a current events podcast.Until next time, I'm generative Kajal.

Episode 313 of “The Sports Experience Podcast” is here & we're back on the gridiron discussing Marshawn Lynch. One of the greatest football players ever produced from the Bay Area, Marshawn Lynch was a star at Oakland Technical High School before becoming an All-American running back with the California Golden Bears.Blessed with a ridiculous combination of size, speed, contact balance and toughness, it appeared Lynch was destined for greatness when he was selected by the Buffalo Bills 12th overall in the 2007 NFL Draft.Though he made a Pro Bowl with the Bills, he truly found greatness in Seattle when he was traded during the 2010 NFL season. He helped the Seahawks pull an upset win during the 2010 NFC Divisional Playoff with his “Beast Quake” touchdown run, and then was the key cog in the Seahawks' offensive attack during their dominant run in the early 2010s which saw them capture a title in Super Bowl XLVIII.Though he did not get the ball to score the game winning touchdown in the following year's Super Bowl, (WTF?!), Lynch put up Hall of Fame caliber numbers with Seattle and was named to the NFL's “All-Decade Team” of the 2010s.A fun loving and charismatic guy, “Beast Mode” will forever be a fan favorite and one of the greatest running backs of his time.Watch, Subscribe & Comment on All Platforms:Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/nz/podcast/the-sports-experience-podcast-with-chris-quinn/id1529622054Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1esgBLz04MZYrTgYMk5DvaConnect with us on Instagram!Chris Quinn: https://www.instagram.com/cquinncomedy/Dominic DiTolla: https://www.instagram.com/ditolladominic/Ty Engle:https://www.instagram.com/ty_englestudio/S.E.P.: https://www.instagram.com/thesportsexperiencepodcast/If you enjoy our podcast, please help support us:https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-sports-experience-pod/support#sportspodcast#comedypodcast#marshawnlynch#nfl#seattleseahawks

The eighth-round pick earned four Pro Bowls in his nine years with the Titans, helping the team win its first AFC Championship Game and advance to the Super Bowl. NOTICE: This weekly show is now part of the "Happy Hour with John Gaskins" daily podcast, which you can find at SiouxFallsLive.com, MidwestSportsPlus.com, and most podcast platforms like the one you find here! So, if you enjoy the topics Matt & John cover, you'll get those topics, plus relevant local guests, every Monday through Thursday on Happy Hour... so we highly recommend you check that out! So far in this young football season, the Jackrabbits, Coyotes, and Vikings offenses — to varying degrees — continue to struggle to explode for big plays and satisfying full-game performances. At times, they implode. In the Yotes and Vikings cases, for full games.Gee, if only there was a local team to watch right now, in-person!, that has provided fireworks all season long, including a so-far spectacular postseason. Oh, wait, there is, and you don't even have to drive one to four hours to see them. The Sioux Falls Canaries — highest-scoring, most home run-hitting in their league by far — are three wins away from their first American Association championship in 17 years and only their second league title in the 33-year modern inception of the club. So far, they've averaged 10 runs in their five playoff wins, including victories of 7-2 and 11-2 in their two series-clinching win-or-go-home games, propelled by the Birds' best-ever player and league's all-time career home run king Jabari Henry's five total dingers in those two deciding games (three blasts to eliminate league leader Sioux City in the first round on the road, then a pair of homers including a grand slam and 8 RBI in The Birdcage to knock out Fargo-Moorhead). So, before Happy Hour host John Gaskins and Sioux Falls Live sports editor Matt Zimmer break down the bummer offenses — to varying degrees! — of this region's three most popular football teams, they celebrate the culmination of what has been a 15-year climb up a Mt. Everest of rocky obstacles for the Canaries — once the league's worst and near-lowest-budget squad — just to return to the league finals. Then, it's pick-apart time for 3-0 SDSU, 1-2 USD, and the 1-1 Vikings, their offenses, and their quarterbacks Chase Mason, Aidan Bouman, and J.J. McCarthy. How much of the team's struggles have been the field generals' faults, and where do we see things headed? Is it unfair for Jacks fans to be unsettled if not complaining about "only" 37 points and "only" a 16-point win over a non-scholarship team? Is it five-alarm fire time for USD after narrowly escaping Northern Colorado and an 0-3 start? What do we make of both the seven quarters of bumbling of young J.J. McCarthy (save from the amazing fourth quarter in Chicago, which counts for a lot) and the ankle injury that has sidelined him against Cincinnati, which gives journeyman and NDSU legend Carson Wentz his latest and maybe last-ever shot to return to his once-Pro Bowl form?John and Matt answer these questions, then toast the Sanford International and its latest winner Retief Goosen. Finally, rumination on why the once-massive Sunday crowds have fizzled a bit in the eight-year-old event that shares crown jewel status in Sioux Falls with the Summit League Tournament.
Super Bowl champion and 3x Pro Bowler TJ Ward sits down with Jimmy to revisit Denver's epic Super Bowl 50 run, life in the league with the Browns and Broncos, and the leadership that defined one of the 2010s' most feared defenses. He also dives into scheme fit, memorable matchups (Gronk, Antonio Gates, Jamal Charles), and the very real grind of injuries and concussions.College fans will love TJ's Oregon stories—Autzen's energy, the Nike effect, Chip Kelly's era, and honest thoughts on NIL, the transfer portal, and the breakup of the Pac-12. “I still haven't got over that Super Bowl, I have yet to watch that game through because it's that painful and I was that close to getting my ring. I hate the Super Bowl. I hate February.” Charles "Peanut" Tillman On this episode of The Pivot Podcast, former NFL star Charles "Peanut" Tillman joins Ryan, Channing, and Fred for an unforgettable conversation that goes far beyond the football field. Known for his legendary "Peanut Punch" and Pro Bowl career with the Chicago Bears, Tillman opens up about the highs and lows of life in the NFL, the mental grind of competition, and what truly defined his time on the gridiron. He shares how it's still difficult to think about coming up short in two Super Bowls and how it pains him to this day to watch football in February. He takes the guys through his infamous career, some of his legendary plays and how he was the only player close to reaching a historic NFL milestone, of the 40/40 club with 44 forced fumbles and two picks short of 40 interceptions. But his story didn't end with football. In a tremendous pivot of honor, Peanut talks about his decision to join the FBI after NFL retirement—a rare and inspiring path for a professional athlete. He shares what drove him to serve in a completely different arena, the challenges of the transition, and how discipline and purpose continue to shape his life. Growing up with his father in the military, he always had a passion to serve the country and joining the bureau was his way to make an impact. But recent changes and demands in protecting the homeland led Peanut to abruptly leave the FBI after eight years of service, which he opens up on and shares why for the first time. Peanut also reflects on the most important role he's ever played: being a father. He gets deeply personal about his family, including the emotional journey with his daughter's health, and how that experience changed his entire perspective on life, love, and prayer. Fred deems his storytelling as his favorite share in our Pivot history. The guys wrap up talking ball, sharing career moments and reminisce he plays we never live down!
