That mechanism is the Comstock Act, an 1873 federal anti-obscenity statute that criminalized mailing contraceptives and abortion-related materials. It has gone unenforced for a century but remains on the books. Hawk walks through how, per the call, Blanche pledged to stop physicians in states where abortion is legal from mailing medication to patients in states that have banned it, and argues the Comstock Act is the only existing statutory tool that would let him attempt it. He lays out the stakes: of roughly 1.1 million abortions in the US last year, about 65 percent were medication abortions, meaning several hundred thousand a year could be affected. Access to medication abortion in the years since Covid and the fall of Roe v. Wade has completely reshaped the abortion access landscape in America.“There's this irony that's actually happened,” says Dr. Angel Foster, an abortion provider and researcher. “Tragically, 33 to 40 percent of women of reproductive age now have less of a right to an abortion. But access for many people has increased.” Foster is the founder of the Massachusetts Medication Abortion Access Project, a clinic whose work is one major player in why abortions are up. Massachusetts and almost half the states in the US have passed shield laws that legally protect abortion providers. The one Foster operates under allows her to prescribe abortion pills to patients in states with abortion bans.  And while the battleground may be shifting as medication abortions grow more common, the war is far from over. This week on Reveal, we explore post-Roe America through the eyes of three women with three very different missions: Foster, who offers medication abortions nationwide; a courier who risks arrest to stockpile abortion pills for an uncertain future; and a conservative activist whose life's work is trying to stop them both. 欢迎收听雪球出品的财经有深度，雪球，国内领先的集投资交流交易一体的综合财富管理平台，聪明的投资者都在这里。今天分享的内容叫海尔智家的投资逻辑，来自养叔的猫。很多人问，为什么要买海尔智家，概括起来逻辑有三点：出海战略驱动收入增长；卡萨帝引领高端化；AI赋能智慧家庭。这三点，从业务拓展、产品结构与技术演进层面构成了最基本的投资逻辑的三板斧，解决“方向对不对”的问题。出海解决增长天花板，卡萨帝等高端产品解决利润结构，A I智慧家庭解决下一程叙事。这三板斧都对，也都能在财报和行业趋势里找到支撑。但真正决定海尔智家能不能把这三板斧砍出持续复利的，我认为还需要一把“鲁班斧”。三板斧是“做什么”，鲁班斧是“怎么做成、怎么持续做成”。前者是投资的显性逻辑，后者是投资的隐性护城河。没有后者，前者很容易变成阶段性主题，估值也容易被周期和情绪左右。毕竟，一家企业的内在价值等于其未来生命周期内所能创造的自由现金流的折现总和。家电行业本质上是一个由宏观政策、中观产业结构、微观企业治理高度耦合的行业。因此，除了关注三板斧之外，还要研究海尔智家的鲁班斧，这样才能决定我们会拿多久，以及拿不拿得住一、鲁班斧之增效：效率红利与经营杠杆随着中国房地产周期的高速扩张期宣告结束，家电行业整体进入了典型的存量博弈时代。在增量时代，企业比拼的是产能扩张速度与渠道下沉广度；存量时代，企业比拼的是内功，即在不增加甚至减少资源投入的前提下，通过管理优化和技术赋能，榨取每一滴经营效率。海尔智家在资本市场面临的最大争议始终是其相对偏高的销售费用率和管理费用率，需要一把鲁班提效之斧，必须要坎掉企业内部的冗余与低效。在营收增速放缓的常态下，就需要依靠利润率的扩张，而利润率扩张的核心抓手在于“费用的系统性压降”。这正是海尔智家当前最硬核、也最容易被市场低估的超额收益逻辑。而A I和数字化，正是海尔的提效之斧，是海尔进行内部重塑运营系统的主要路径。在近两年的数字化与A I重塑下，偏高的销售费用率和管理费用率正在反转。二零二六年一季度，公司通过极致成本与A I赋能，使得销售费用率同比大幅优化了1个百分点至百分之8.6。这种费率压降在庞大的营收基数下，释放出了不错的利润弹性，这种经营杠杆的释放是海尔智家全链路数字化改造的必然结果。如果剔除北美市场的短期扰动，北美市场二季度大概率会得到很好的修复。看二零二五年全年，公司实现营收3023.5亿元，同比增长百分之5.7；但在费率优化的杠杆作用下，归母净利润达到195.53亿元，同比增长百分之4.4，这种毛利率逆势微升与费用率持续下降的“剪刀差”，构成了海尔智家未来利润释放的强力引擎。传统的家电分销体系中，压货在各级经销商仓库的“物理库存”占据了大量营运资金，不仅导致库存周转缓慢，还极易在行业景气度下行时引发渠道抛售、价格战与恶性窜货。十年多前在飞鹤乳业，面临最大的一个问题也是这样。但海尔智家的数字库存变革，自二零二五年3月启动专卖店统仓To C模式，至5月已完成全国33个区域上线，覆盖所有区县客户。至6月底，统仓To C在直营渠道中的占比已高达百分之55；至7月，海尔智家百分之60的商品直接通过公司的总仓直接配送至终端用户。“统仓统配”模式彻底改变了家电流通的路径。压货，串货现象得到了缓解。库存链路进一步优化；价格管控力提升；释放优越的经营红利。因此，海尔智家当前的投资主线，是一场通过A I和数字化倒逼供应链与组织架构变革，进而实现利润率系统性修复的“自我进化”。这一逻辑在未来3到5年内具备极强的确定性。只要这套系统持续运转，利润率的爬坡就是一道简单的数学题。二、鲁班斧之提质：效能红利任何企业都无法脱离其所处的宏观环境独立运行。二零二四年至二零二六年，家电市场最核心的外部宏观变量，无疑是国家层面的“大规模设备更新和消费品以旧换新”政策。然而，资本市场对这一政策的认知往往停留在“刺激短期销量”的浅层维度，甚至有担忧其会透支未来三到五年的消费需求。如果仅仅以此视角看待海尔智家，就会陷入周期性的恐慌。二零二六年的以旧换新政策已经从追求短期的“规模效应”全面转向追求长期的“效能红利”。政策补贴的资金重点不再是无差别地消化落后产能，而是带有明确导向性的产业结构升级。这实际上是供给侧改革在消费端的延续。相关数据显示，二零二五年以旧换新相关商品销售额超2.6万亿元，惠及超3.6亿人次，有效拉动了社会消费品零售总额增长超1个百分点。在这场补贴活动中，结构性分化极为明显。在12类家电以旧换新中，一级能效或水效产品销售额占比高达百分之90以上。各地方政策也明确鼓励优先支持能效、水效、环保水平高的智能家居产品，一级能效家电补贴比例达百分之15，单件最高补贴可达1500元。进入二零二六年上半年，家电以旧换新持续发力，累计换新超6326.6万台。这种“精准滴灌”的政策设计，实质上改变了不同能效、不同层级产品之间的相对价格体系，使得高端、绿色、智能产品的性价比在补贴后骤然凸显。海尔智家旗下的高端品牌卡萨帝1500元的单件最高补贴限额，在客观上极大地降低了消费者购买高端家电的决策门槛，缩短了高端产品与中端产品之间的价格鸿沟，展现出了强大的“虹吸效应”与“马太效应”。当消费者习惯了高品质生活，加之补贴政策的推波助澜，高端家电的消费呈现出极强的刚性。当然，除了卡萨帝在高端市场的碾压之势，海尔智家在年轻化与细分市场的爆款战略同样精准契合了当前的消费心理。同时，卡萨帝套系产品销售占比已提升至百分之36，海尔品牌套系产品销售占比提升至百分之15。套系化销售意味着单用户的客单价在急剧上升。在整个行业总需求可能持平的存量大盘中，海尔智家通过高端份额的攫取、爆款的放量以及客单价的提升，实现了超越行业大盘的阿尔法收益。因此，买入海尔智家的另一层深层逻辑在于：它拥有当前家电行业内最能承接“高端化、绿色化、智能化”政策红利的产品矩阵。政策没有透支海尔的需求，反而加速了海尔对长尾杂牌市场份额的收割，其高端品牌的护城河在政策补贴的催化下被结构性地拓宽了。三、鲁班斧之第二次出海：双轨供应链反脆弱在全球地缘政治博弈加剧、贸易保护主义抬头、关税大棒频频挥舞的复杂宏观系统中，单纯的“出口外销”模式面临着极大的关税壁垒风险与海运费波动风险。如果海尔智家的出海仅仅是“把国内造好的机器装上货轮运到海外”，那么它依然是一个没有反脆弱属性的出海企业。然而，海尔智家真正的海外护城河，是其历经数十年构建的“双轨供应链体系”与“全球本土化”战略所带来的“反脆弱性”。从我们加入世贸组织到二零零八年金融危机，是中国产品出海的第一个高潮。彼时，中国企业依靠人口红利和低成本优势，以O E M来料/来样加工为主，赚取的是产业链底端的微薄加工费。这几年，国家的钱往外贸走。而从现在到二零三五年，则是中国产品出海的第二个高潮。这一阶段不再是简单的产能外溢，而是中高端制造与自主品牌的全面出海。天天喊出海的不少，但像海尔智家这样历经数十年，真正在海外建立起“中国+N”、“研发+制造+营销”三位一体本土化运营的全球化巨头，屈指可数。这种深度本土化不仅规避了海运费波动，更是抵御关税大棒与地缘政治冲击的最强护城河。全球南方国家是未来十年最重要的增量蓝海。对于这些正在发展中的国家，发展起来的第一要务绝不是去应用前沿的A Since the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization case which overturned Roe v. Wade was decided, there's been an abortion access crisis, an assault on legal precedent for abortion protections, and an opportunity to create a stronger and even more inclusive plan to reproductive autonomy than Roe ever provided. Amy Myrick, Senior Council at the Center for Reproductive Rights, sits down to talk with us about legal trends in federal and state courts in the past four years. Currently, legal cases have been aimed towards medication abortion and telehealth (a lifeline after Dobbs). It is important to remember that legal attacks on abortion have broader implications, including for transgender health and rights (particularly for young people). Increasingly, anti-abortion actors have had to pivot to tactics that are often blatantly anti-democratic. In addition to making media accessible and centering disabled storytelling through podcasting and other creative forms, it is essential that we make visible the views of disabled people on critical issues of the day. In this important conversation with Sara Luterman of the 19th, we discussed Sara's reporting on a first of its kind poll by Data for Progress about disabled people's views on abortion. These views are diverse and complex, rooted in histories of institutionalization, forced sterilization, and the use of abortion to erase disability. This type of polling highlights the critical importance of cross-movement solidarity between the movements for disability justice and reproductive justice, to ensure that the battle for reproductive autonomy is not just about the right to abortion, but also the right to bear children, and to effectively care for ourselves and our families. These issues are more important than ever, in the wake of the Supreme Court's 2022 decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health, which overturned Roe v. There's been a lot of discussion of Roe vs Wade this year, with the US Supreme Court controversially overturning the decision nearly half a century after it was made. Henceforth, each American state is free to decide whether abortion is legal or not, to the despair of many women's rights supporters. But if we go back to 1960s America, abortion was illegal pretty much everywhere and treated as equivalent to homicide, from a legal perspective at least. In many places, birth control was prohibited for unmarried women. Things were gradually changing, with some states reforming their antiabortion laws. But a group of women known as the Jane Collective weren't waiting around for that to happen. They took matters into their own hands, literally! Who were these women and how did the group start out? (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark and Adam McManus U.S. to Iran: Stop persecuting Christians The United States is calling for Iran to end its persecution of Christians. According to Open Doors, it's the tenth worst country in the world. In one case, authorities in the country sentenced a Christian convert to nearly 10 years in prison back in May. Forty-two-year-old Ghazal Marzban is now on a hunger strike. A State Department spokesman told Fox News Digital, “We are aware of these reports. It is reprehensible that the Iranian regime continues to persecute religious minorities, including Iranian Christians.”  Dr. Hormoz Shariat with Iran Alive Ministries told Fox News that Christians in Iran are courageous in the face of persecution. Listen. SHARIAT: “Believers in Iran are full of [the] Holy Spirit. They are courageous. They're out there. Many of them are living, and some of them are dying for Jesus. I see such a courage among the Iranian Muslim background believers.” Revelation 12:11 says, “And they overcame [the Devil] by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.”  America restarted naval blockade against Iranian ports On Tuesday, the United States restarted its naval blockade against Iranian ports. This comes after the Islamic Republic continued to attack commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. Yesterday, the U.S. military carried out more strikes on Iran. President Donald Trump threatened strikes on Iran's infrastructure next week unless the country reopens negotiations.  Pro-life British Member of Parliament was killed A pro-life British politician was found dead at her home on July 9th. Seventy-eight-year-old Ann Widdecombe had served as a conservative member of Parliament from 1987 to 2010. The Catholic politician was an outspoken opponent of abortion. Counter-terrorism police report that she was clearly the victim of a targeted attack and are still investigating a motive. Supreme Court Justices ask for additional security Here in America, U.S. Supreme Court Justices testified before Congress about threats to their lives. The Supreme Court is requesting nearly $15 million in additional funds from Congress for the personal security of the justices. Justice Amy Coney Barrett talked about one incident when she was the victim of an erroneous call to her residence. BARRETT: “Roughly six weeks ago, I was the victim of a swatting incident. At that point, my teenage son, one of my teenage sons, opened the door to go out with friends and saw in our street it was full of police cars who had responded to a false report of gunshots and raised voices in my home. “I was very, very grateful that I had Supreme Court Police outside my home because they were able to stop and meet with, and explain to the county police, that it had been a false alarm. And so, the police did not actually attempt to enter our home.” Conservative justices faced intense threats surrounding the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade in 2022. For example, Justice Amy Coney Barrett had to be sent home with a bullet proof vest when threats were high. In Proverbs 8:35-36, Wisdom says, “For whoever finds me finds life, and obtains favor from the LORD; but he who sins against me wrongs his own soul; all those who hate me love death.” Christian student required to attend a perversion assembly A Christian middle schooler in Washington State is suing her school district for violating her faith. Highline Public School District in Burien, Washington held a mandatory so-called “Inclusion Assembly” back in May. The event covered topics that conflicted with the girl's Christian faith. So, she asked to be excused, but the school forced her to participate.  The American Center for Law and Justice filed a lawsuit against the school last week on behalf of the Christian student. The ACLJ stated, “Our client is a little girl who has done nothing but live out her faith with kindness and respect for others.” Only 33% of Americans trust churches, down from 60% in 2001 A new Gallup survey found that Americans don't trust institutions in the United States. Only 27% of U.S. adults expressed confidence in major institutions. That's down from 43% in 2001. These institutions include banks, churches, Congress, the military, public schools, and the medical system.  Thirty-three percent of Americans express confidence in churches and organized religion. That's down from 60 percent in 2001. Tyrannosaurus Rex fossil sold for $50 million A Tyrannosaurus Rex fossil sold for a record-breaking $50.1 million in New York on Tuesday. A paleontologist discovered the skeleton on a ranch in South Dakota in 2021. Known as “Gus”, it's one of the largest and most complete dinosaurs ever discovered.  Paleontologists claim that Gus lived about 67 million years ago. However, scientists discovered a T. Rex fossil in 2005 that contained unfossilized soft tissue.  Answers in Genesis noted, “Soft tissue is not compatible with an old Earth, and yes, it is indeed a powerful confirmation of the Biblical timeline.”  Worldview listeners from Manitoba, Indiana and Kentucky weigh in Azalia Marten in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada wrote me and said, “I want to thank The Worldview team for writing the newscast every weekday.  I greatly appreciate your views. But discerning readers recognize that on the core constitutional question of whether birthright citizenship is anchored in the 14th Amendment, the vote was actually 5 to 4, since Justice Kavanaugh agreed with the other three dissenters that the 14th Amendment does not establish birthright citizenship, and he voted to strike down Trump's executive order because he thought it failed on statutory grounds.Statutes, of course, can be changed. And 5 - 4 Supreme Court decisions indicate that the matter is not decisively settled. Keep in mind that Roe v. Wade was a 7 - 2 decision, but the shoddiness of the reasoning in Roe became so apparent over time that it was indeed overturned.  Likewise this may occur on birthright citizenship. It is most definitely not over. Consider that even as recently a decade ago no one thought a constitutional challenge to birthright citizenship could make it to the Supreme Court, let along get four votes. Many commentators thought Trump might lose this case 8 - 1, or perhaps unanimously. If there is one person above all who deserves credit for bringing this moment about, it is John Eastman. You may have heard of him. He's been in the news a bit the last few years. (Full disclosure, as the saying goes—Eastman and I were classmates, and for a time housemates—in graduate school back in the 1980s.)About 30 years ago, Eastman began writing a series of law review and other academic articles attacking the supposedly secure foundations of birthright citizenship. His argument seemed exotic at the time, and was summarily dismissed. And yet in recent years more and more eminent constitutional scholars began to come around and endorse his critique of the accepted view, which as I say now commands four votes on the Supreme Court.In our conversation here we review the course of this unfolding rethinking that has brought us to this moment, and we also take up what might be next, as Eastman has his eye on a sweeping revision of another important and highly consequential constitutional provision that nearly everyone ignores. If he can repeat the story arc of the birthright citizenship issue, it might lead to one of the most significant reforms of American government in decades.To find out that this sequel is, though, you'll just have to listen.

American history is riddled with collisions between legally defensible rulings and morally costly outcomes. Still, "the purpose of law in any society is to embody a moral framework in practice," says Yuval Levin, who joins Mark Labberton to explore the moral architecture in the foundation of the American legal system, as they review the most recent rulings of the U.S. Supreme Court. The Court has just closed one of the most consequential terms in recent memory, articulating the tension between faithfulness to the Constitution and enacting justice and morality. Together they reflect on why and how a system founded on equality must be both majoritarian and counter-majoritarian at once; why a judge's job is to articulate their legal (rather than their moral) opinion; the rise of Constitutional originalism; why pre-Trump conservative arguments win at this Court while "Trumpy" ones lose; the contemporary relevance of the Federalist Papers; what recourse citizens have when they believe the Court has done wrong; and why the American legal system's worst failures still cluster around race. Chief Justice Roberts improperly relied on English common law as a basis for birthright citizenship, despite the framers using it only as a guide and rejecting elements that conflicted with the U.S. system. It requires two-thirds approval in both houses of Congress to propose language, followed by ratification by three-fourths (38) of the states—neither of which is feasible for issues like changing birthright citizenship. The Supreme Court has constitutionalized elements not originally in the Constitution, making reversal through amendments impractical. Instead, the effective path is filling Court vacancies with constitutionalists, as achieved in overturning Roe, without resorting to court packing.
