Rebeccah Silence's journey of healing and transformation is an inspiring example of resilience and emotional growth. Growing up in an environment marked by domestic violence, Rebeccah found herself in an abusive marriage that echoed the trauma of her past. With the courage to leave her marriage and the support of her community, she began her path toward healing. Later, a life-threatening cancer diagnosis while pregnant with her second child further shaped her understanding of life and healing. She learned that emotional well-being and alignment with one's soul were more important than any external achievements. Rebeccah's work today focuses on helping individuals and families break free from toxic relationship patterns and create healthier emotional connections. Through her companies, Non Silent Woman and Rebeccahsilence.com, she teaches clients how to recognize and heal their core wounds, break destructive cycles, and embrace their true selves. Central to her approach is the distinction between the "survival self" and the "healed self," and the belief that emotional healing is essential for personal and relational transformation. If you're ready to start your own journey toward emotional healing and healthier relationships, Rebeccah offers invaluable resources. There are so many gifts in this episode and in the stories that she tells...but suffice it to say that for me, the discovery and timing, let along HOW it was discovered...around her cancer diagnosis was absolutely gobsmacking! She is light, bright and full of wisdom, and has a fierce sense of humor to boot! To read more about this wonderful human, click here...and to buy her book, COMING BACK TO LIFE, click here! Your bit of beauty this time is Edmonia Lewis, an African American & Native American sculptor and her piece "The Death of Cleopatra."  I recently listented to "Sidedoor" a Smithsonian podcast and the episode detailed Lewis' life, fame and subsequent slide into being forgotten. A powerful and redemptive story of what we humans create in this world and then leave behind (only to be discovered later in an abandoned space), her story resonated deeply with me this week. What are we creating every day, and how will the future find our works? I'll leave you with that thought and cheers to the rest of your week!

Rebeccah Silence's last name is a powerful indicator of her life's testimony. Growing up with an alcoholic father, Rebeccah learned the protective behaviors of playing it small and codependence, which she calls "love trauma". As generational trauma can be cyclical, Rebecca found herself in an abusive marriage as an adult.  In order to commit to getting the most out of your one precious life, we must find reasons to leave toxic situations. For Rebeccah, she knew she wanted her daughter to live in a healthy, safe environment. That was her motivator to find the next aligned step to changing her life, even with the fear of leaving her violent husband and the subsequent consequences looming over her. The first aligned step was telling the truth of her situation to trusted friends. The second aligned step was to move with her daughter to a hotel. The third aligned step was healing the root of her trauma as she juggled multiple jobs to support herself and her daughter. Healing her nervous system and past trauma helped break the generational attractions that caused Rebeccah to fall into destructive patterns that did not serve the person God created her to be. She describes this healing as a free fall, a reinvention and reclaiming process of who you really are, outside of survival. Rebecca is now in a loving marriage, healed, and no more silenced.Purchase Rebecca's book, "Coming Back to Life", here. Learn more about her breakthrough coaching here. Theresa Alexander Inman welcomes self-healing and relationship expert Rebeccah Silence. They discuss finding true happiness, healing high-functioning unhappiness, and using trauma to one's advantage. They emphasize the significance of living in alignment and how parents can model this for their kids to break generational trauma cycles. With the best of intentions, she thought the more she "took it" and stayed "silent," that it would lessen the abuse. Terrified and frozen, she always knew there had to be a better way. Though she survived domestic violence, she was left with a damaged self-esteem and self-worth. She developed anorexia and abused alcohol in the absence of having healing coping skills. Part of her self-healing attempts included becoming a music therapy intern at a state psychiatric hospital. She soon discovered many of the patients weren't mentally impaired. In fact, most patients merely did not have healing coping skills. It was then she decided to become an expert in human behavior. She had a dream of a life filled with healthy love and a healed family without a plan. With a distorted view of healthy relationships and family dynamics, Rebecah's first marriage was doomed to repeat the same heartbreaking results caused by dysfunctional relationship patterns. Rebeccah found herself a single mom surviving an abusive marriage, working three jobs to create a safe and loving home for her family, and despite her best efforts, she went bankrupt. Tragedy did not silence Rebeccah. Are you a prisoner of your past? Is it possible to access your inner child to heal the wounds that keep you stuck? Can intergenerational patterns of violence and pain be shifted? Absolutely! Although some believe that we leave childhood issues behind as we enter adulthood, I've found that our negative childhood experiences—including wounds, trauma, and destructive patterns—stay with us until they are healed. Some cope by running away from or compartmentalizing the pain and shame, but true healing only comes by facing and moving through trauma. The mindful creation of healthy new experiences of love and relationship is part of the healing process. As we compassionately learn to understand our wounds, we let go of negative patterns. This empowering episode focuses on finding freedom through gentle self-awareness and self-love. As expert Rebeccah Silence notes, "Healing is not promised, but it is POSSIBLE for all of us! There is no emotional wound or pain that can't be healed."Books by Dr. Carla Manly:Date Smart: Transform Your Relationships and Love FearlesslyJoy From Fear: Create the Life of Your Dreams by Making Fear Your FriendAging Joyfully: A Woman's Guide to Optimal Health, Relationships, and Fulfillment for Her 50s and BeyondThe Joy of Imperfect Love: The Art of Creating Healthy, Securely Attached Relationships Connect with Dr. Carla Manly:Website: https://www.drcarlamanly.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/drcarlamanlyTwitter: https://www.twitter.com/drcarlamanlyFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/drcarlamanlyLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/carla-marie-manly-8682362bYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@dr.carlamariemanly8543TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@dr_carla_manlyBook by Rebeccah Silence:Coming Back to Life: A Roadmap to Healing from Pain to Create the Life You Want Connect with Rebeccah Silence:Website: https://www.rebeccahsilence.com

Dr. Jeanette welcomes Rebeccah Silence, author of Coming Back to Life, to share new tools of navigating the healing and new path all lightworkers and intuitives walk today. This decade has opened up the ability to share our stories and feel empowered as the path we have walked this lifetime no longer has a hold on our future choices. Many have experiences that have taken us to our knees, felt like we sold our souls for, and had us crying in the night to a greater power to save us from the pain of body and mind that we experienced. It was not a misstep, a wrong choice, nor a horribly blinded moment of time as we have been led to believe in our judgement of the past when we excavate our emotions and pains that bound us in this human form.Today, we can share freely with those who have had similar experiences, and allow us to hold each others hands to walk a new path that only we can design. How freeing might that feel? For more information on Rebeccah visit: www.RebeccahSilence.comFor an empowering session with Dr. Jeanette visit: www.DrJeanetteGallagher.com

Host Rebeccah Silence turns the tables, interviewing big-hearted radio personality “Big Poppa” Gary Spears, usually the guy in the interviewer seat.  Gary knows what it takes to be a trusted voice, using his platform on the air to support his community.  On the podcast he shares his thoughts on what it takes to be a credible spokesman.  Gary's story will inspire you to believe that you can become a person of influence in your community too.    Gary likens experiencing breakthrough in life to playing a video game—a player grows by breaking through one level at a time, earning more power and weapons to better equip them to achieve the next level.  One of the ways he's done it was to co-create, with Rebeccah, two radio shows to help listeners lead their best lives.  With titles like “Confession Tuesday” and “Wellness Wednesday” there's little doubt why the audience grew.    The emphasis on being local and supporting local is at the heart of earning the trust and respect of the community.  Gary's genuine enthusiasm for his job and his passion for connecting with his listeners and ability to be vulnerable have allowed him to become someone whose opinion is valued.  Any movement can begin with a single person, willing to share their story, attracting like-minded individuals.      Gary's advice if you don't see a path to following your passion?  “Blaze the trail.”  Connect with Gary Spears on all social media outlets @bigpoppacny.  We're always Tougher Together! We all crave it.  We all need it.  What is it?  It's cliché, but 100% true, love is the answer.  And it wins every time.  On this episode host Rebeccah Silence gives valuable insight and practical advice on how love can heal your relationships.  If you take away only one truth from this podcast, learn this: others are not responsible for making you feel.  Only you control the way you feel.  With that knowledge Rebeccah will guide you into falling in love with yourself more deeply—and everyone you meet.  What is love?  Love is the experience of being connected.  Rebeccah highlights some of the pitfalls that keep us from this connection: Measuring Love, Dishonesty, Withholding, Unclear Boundaries, to name a few.  If we can recognize the things that trip us up, we can eliminate them.  So, how do you get more love?  You gotta give more love.  Even when it means loving the unlovable.  When it comes to love, in childhood many of us learn we need to earn.  But what if we were to stop measuring love and simply focus on giving more of it to everyone, whether we believe they deserve it or not?  Too often we blame others when our relationships aren't working.  But our relationships aren't hurting us, rather, they are a mirror to show us where we haven't healed yet.  Rebeccah outlines a three-step process to help maintain independence and stay true to ourselves while being committed to others.  The outcome?  True breakthrough in radical self-love and the ability to fall in love with everyone you meet.  In closing, Rebeccah answers questions on how to heal and have healthy loving relationships, beginning with the most important person in your life, YOU.  Rebeccah Silence, is a speaker, coach and international media personality, who survived cancer while pregnant and has impacted hundreds of thousands of listeners through her radio programs and appearances.  She is the Creator of the HEALING IS POSSIBLE movement and courses and is committed to helping others heal their traumas.  As a certified world-class Emotional Healing Coach, Rebeccah is uniquely qualified to facilitate breakthroughs to wellness and transformation while she inspires hope and possibility in even the most challenging times. Author, social worker, educational consultant, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) trainer Dr. Darlene Sampson believes that right now, you can be changed for the better by listening to this podcast.  Host Rebeccah Silence wants to know what can those who enjoy skin color privilege do to be true allies to those who experience racism?  Because, for our fellow human beings who do suffer from racial discrimination, it's exhausting.  As a Black woman Darlene knows how hurtful it can be to feel ‘invisible' and she assists her clients in using empathy to break through false narratives on all forms of discrimination.  But, in DEI work, breakthrough can be scary.  Allyship can be costly so it's important to know the risks.  For example, are you willing to call out a microaggression, say a racially charged comment or joke, on the job or online?  So where can we start?  By getting to know people who aren't like us.  Who in your world doesn't look, think and act like you?  Who did you learn as a child was bad and who was good?  Darlene says, “When we don't know each other, that's when we don't care for each other.”  Therefore, it's essential to seek opportunities to build relationships with people who are different from you.  And to be honest with yourself about how uncomfortable it may make you feel.  Knowing your biases is an important first step.  If you have privilege, recognize it and use it for good.  Let curiosity be your guide.  If someone tells you a story of the impact of racism in their lives, believe them; don't minimize.  Instead, ask to hear more.  We can strengthen our empathic muscles by extending love and kindness to those who may not look like us, but who share our common human experience, and that makes us all more alike than we might think.  A powerful and conscious-raising conversation, Rebeccah and Darlene get to the heart of the matter and discuss ideas for taking action to build a better world and to eliminate racism and intolerance.  Don't beat yourself us; wake up.  What can you do today that says you care?  To learn more about Dr. Darlene Sampson check out https://darlenesampson.com/.  We're always Tougher Together! Generational healing begins with the person in a family system who bravely decides to break inherited pain patterns passed from parents to children, often without realizing it.  For most of us, our parents are our primary teachers, and their parents before them.  Cycles of abuse, poverty, or mental illness can continue to negatively impact future generations.  The good news?  Healing and transformation are possible, and the positive effects are just as far reaching!    Host Rebeccah Silence shares her journey to love and accept her body, which was a constant source of shame, passed down to her from her mother.  She made the decision to end the war with her body and instead radically appreciate it for all the joy it has brought her, sustaining not only her life, but that of her child.  It suddenly made sense that if she was still alive, even if she had cancer, her body was in fact fighting for her!  What an incredible breakthrough!    Extending that love to her mom represented another shift—the realization that her mother did the best she could, and she was not to blame.  Healing begins with acknowledging the patterns but taking responsibility for our own change, regardless of others.  It's possible to do this transformational work without anyone's support.  Instead focus on letting others love us the best way they know how.    The work of generational healing is bigger than the person who decides to make the change.  Future generations reap the benefits.  You can change the game.  You get to decide.  What's the generational war you need to end?  Rebeccah answers questions on generational pain patterns with advice on how to heal.  Rebeccah Silence, is a speaker, coach and international media personality, who survived cancer while pregnant and has impacted hundreds of thousands of listeners through her radio programs and appearances. Mountaineer, entrepreneur, extreme sports athlete, husband and father, Eric Plantenberg knows the power of breakthrough and living a free and abundant life.  He's summited Mt. Everest.  He's a four-time IRONMAN competitor.  He's launched multiple businesses and done something else not many have done—spent time in a federal prison.  But he didn't let that stop him from living his best life.  In fact, he used it to his advantage.  At the tender age of 17, as a college freshman, Eric decided he was going to live the life he wanted, not the one others wanted for him.  His choice, and his experience, led him to define freedom as the capacity to choose.  Yet, through trials, he also saw the difference between who people perceived him to be on the outside, and how he felt on the inside.  “I felt like I had arrived and was sucking at the same time,” he says of those early years.  If freedom is the capacity to choose, abundance comes in being present.  Even when things aren't going well, take comfort in knowing that right here, right now, you are everything and have everything you need.  Don't compare yourself to someone who looks like they have it all figured out.  Everyone is imperfect.  Eric defines breakthrough as the state of the mind, body and spirit being aligned.  Breakthrough, which can be physical or emotional, is growth over time with persistence.  Whether you're learning a new skill or entering a new relationship, breakthrough takes work.  He recalls a powerful moment, a gift really, that his wife gave him—permission to be himself.  Despite all his success in business, up to that point he still didn't know that he didn't need to earn love.  Finally, Eric teaches that gratitude is a choice.  His challenge?  Make a list of what's NOT going well in your life.  Make another list of all that your grateful for.  Now you can choose where to focus and your gratitude will be authentic because you aren't ignoring what's wrong.  Experiencing these four concepts of freedom, abundance, breakthrough and gratitude, Eric climbs all of life's mountains, and you can too!  Connect with Eric Plantenberg on YouTube, Linkedin and on Twitter @ericplantenberg.  We're always Tougher Together! Brianna Martray decided in her mid-twenties that creating the life she truly wanted, that of a fulltime artist, was a risk worth taking.  As she became successful and demand for her work grew, she realized that one thing needed to change—end her alcohol addiction or die.     Brianna chose life and began the process of transforming her life breakthrough after breakthrough, one step at a time.  Taking a break from the studio to get sober taught her the power of eliminating negative self-talk and listening to her gut.  She wanted more than anything to realize her full potential as a sober person and as an artist, so she bravely took the path of discovering this new identity.    Even when we are clear about what we want, we still need to embrace the process of change which involves living with darkness, in other words, embrace the contrast.  Remaining open and aware of opportunities for growth, no matter how painful they may be, is the key to being your most authentic self.  The other key?  Being gentle with yourself throughout the process.  Brianna's advice is to notice, without judgment, what is negative and gently redirect it to something positive.    Creativity, in all its forms, is cathartic and can lead to breakthrough.  After all, the purpose of art is the same as life, to share it, while loving others and ourselves deeply.  If you'd like to learn more about Brianna Martray, visit her website www.brainnamartray.com or email her at briannamartray@gmail.com.  We're always Tougher Together!  Please tune in to other episodes of our Breakthrough podcast and explore the human connection between us. Is Breakthrough always a moment, or can it be a season? Our host, Rebeccah Silence, spends some time with Life Coach Stephen Lovegrove on today's podcast, and they share some insight on the Breakthrough process.  Tune in and hear what they have uncovered for themselves and others!  Stephen tells us the in the Breakthrough process, something shifts in your awareness… your mindset or consciousness.  Sometimes called the soul, your consciousness is the part of you that is alive.  When everything else is stripped away, your consciousness lies at the heart of who you are.  In business, times are often scary, dealing with the unknown. To bring about substantial, lasting change, you have to show up in a new way persistently and consistently. This is how change happens. Remember that while it's happening, change will feel hectic.  Another thing to learn and remember is that change must happen from the inside out… not the other way around. One of the best ways to make this occur is by seeing yourself in a new way.  Stephen shares the three truths about Breakthrough and teaches us about the Law of Repulsion and removing the block that stands between Breakthrough and you!  The topic of Roots and Wings came up. A discussion of the importance of both, working together to affect change in you. Stay rooted, but work on flying…  Use safety and permission together, as they are essential for you to grow and align with your vision.  If you would like to learn more about Stephen Lovegrove, go to his website. How often do we feel connected to our bodies and aware of our nervous systems? It's not uncommon to feel disconnected from our own bodies. Achieving weight loss is difficult without breaking down and going deeper to heal childhood wounds to the nervous system. On the Tougher Together Breakthrough podcast, our host, Rebeccah Silence, sat in with Audra Baker to discuss the characteristics that make Breakthrough such a big part of change and growth.  Breakdown is where Breakthrough starts. It's often called “rock bottom,” a place where there's nowhere to go but up. Audra explains that sometimes Breakthrough is sudden, like a “light bulb moment.” Still, it often takes a while to shake out of the breakdown without doing considerable work. Sometimes, Breakthrough is a series of baby steps in the right direction.  Whatever the rate of change, Breakthrough that causes lasting change requires a shift in the nervous system. As Audra puts it, “You can't willpower or positive affirmation through it.” As you repair these wounds to your nervous system, you can begin the process of healing and reconnect with your body and your feelings.   The connection can start with breathwork, and you can start simply with a deep belly breath… noticing your breath and the sensations in your body. She had “everything.” She was happily married, had a lovely home, beautiful children, successful career… yet she was unfulfilled. She did all the things a person “should” do. But it wasn't until she learned to appreciate Breakdown and Breakthrough that she could realize her vision. Join us on the Tougher Together Breakthrough podcast as host Rebeccah Silence and her guest, Anne Mank, talk about Anne's Breakthrough!  Anne couldn't quite put her finger on the missing piece but knew that she wasn't happy, despite her success in business and life. A business coach asked her, “What do you really want to do?” She responded, saying she wanted to run a 5k race. She was so wrapped up in doing what other people wanted her to do that she felt the world would fall apart if she took time for herself.  One of the first things she had to do was make her own rules instead of relying on and adhering to rules made by outside sources. Once she started making leaps towards her own happiness, she found it easier and even more meaningful with each successive change.  She compares her transformation from CPA/Rule Follower to Wealth Advisor/Disruptor as nothing less than caterpillar to butterfly. During the podcast interview with Rebeccah, Anne shares her three-step formula to making real change and moving towards your joy. She's passionate about disrupting the money conversation for women, so we can talk about money and investing instead of shying away from financial topics.   This behavior and these decisions did not come naturally and actually involved quite a bit of fear, resistance, and hesitation. Learn how she overcame these roadblocks to happiness and built the life she wanted. Beyond vision, you have to put in the work to make the changes for yourself.  If you would like to learn more about Anne Mank, go to her website. We're always Tougher Together! One of life's complexities is the need to be needed. You make a common mistake when you need to have a role in other people's lives. Rebeccah Silence talks about this on the Tougher Together Breakthrough podcast. She lets us know that it's okay to care and natural to want to help, but it's a fine line between helping people with what they need, as opposed to making it about you and what you need.  When we NEED to be needed, we typically get a result that's different from our intention. We push people away when our ego becomes involved, and we come across as needy.  Most people are not looking to be saved but to be seen, heard, and held capable. Beware of lowering the bar with those you want to help. Adopting a victim mindset will not help them at all, so don't approach them from that angle.  Don't let your best intentions turn into a “take” instead of a “give.” Help in a way that empowers and do so without attachment to outcomes. Focus on connection to build possibilities for others.  Rebeccah takes some questions on this and other topics and gives insightful answers to wind up this heartfelt podcast episode.  Rebeccah Silence is a speaker, coach, and international media personality, who survived cancer while pregnant and has impacted hundreds of thousands of listeners through her radio programs and appearances. Have you ever felt like life was closing in on you?  That one aspect of your life was putting the other areas in jeopardy?  If so, you won't want to miss this podcast! Our host, Rebeccah Silence, chatted with attorney Nick Passalacqua on the Tougher Together Breakthrough podcast. Nick shares his story and explains what Breakthrough has done in his life!  Nick was leading a stressful life, trying to get his law practice off the ground, with a wife and kids at home. He was always feeling conflicted and under pressure to be doing something other than what he was doing at that time. When he was home, at his wife's request,  he knew he should be working at his fledgling law firm. When he was on the job, he felt like he should be home with his family.   When their third child was born, she received a cancer diagnosis at seven weeks, and priorities came into focus. Once his daughter gained a complete recovery, all the old dynamics came back full force.   For Nick, he realized that he needed to change his path. Divorce was not something that he wanted, but at this point, the relationship wasn't serving anyone, including the kids. He was courageous and decided that he and his wife should separate. The work they did with Rebeccah helped to clarify things for both of them.  Now, through co-parenting, all the time he spends with his kids is “better time.”  Nick explains that you're only as good as what you tolerate. Success comes from knowing what you will and will not tolerate in life. Deciding to stop tolerating certain behaviors or relationships can empower you to look at all aspects of your life and take inventory to realize what's standing in the way of living the way you want your life to be.   If you would like to learn more about Nick Passalacqua, go to his website. Recently, Rebeccah Silence, host of the Tougher Together Breakthrough podcast, welcomed Dr. Nathan Kennedy to sit with her. They talked about what breakthrough means to him and heard his views on healing.  This exciting conversation turned to a discussion of possibilities, resiliency, and being willing to think outside the box!  Dr. Kennedy makes the observation that people only look for stuff if they think it's there.  Many people will tell you that something is impossible, but they have never tried it or explored the idea.  We learn more from trying things that most people are not doing.    Some of the best ways to learn or approach something from a different angle come from meeting people. Instead of asking about their accreditation, ask the question, “Can you help me?” Another way of gathering information seems obvious but is often overlooked.  Increase your general and specific knowledge by reading and learning about different types of subjects… Learn Everything you Can!  Sometimes a possibility will reveal itself from an unexpected source. Dr. Kennedy  reminds us that “Learning Leads to Breakthrough.”  Healing starts with emotions and beliefs. Be open-minded, try new things, and stick with them.  Your feelings and thoughts can prevent you or encourage you… depending on how you feel and what you believe.  Let your experience form your beliefs, instead of what you hear from others.  The benefit of breakdown is that it forces you to change your thinking.  If you are interested in learning more about Dr. Nathan Kennedy, and you should, you can find out more about him on his website. Control plays a significant role in most of our lives, and we like to think that by planning things out, we can predict and control what happened to us in the future. On the Tougher Together Breakthrough podcast, host Rebeccah Silence shares her experience and observations about being blindsided… something with which she's had a lot of personal experience.  We all like to plan and control our lives. Letting go of control is tough. We have to face the fact that all we can really control is our emotional reaction to anything that comes into our lives.  Does being blindsided do anything for us?  Consider this… Being blindsided is like a wake-up call. When it happens, it's time for you to learn to connect to a higher version of yourself. You can't afford to lose sight of the strength within yourself.  Rebeccah tells us of her experience being blindsided by a cancer diagnosis while she was pregnant and 34 years old. Talk about blindsided… that was not even a remote thought at the time. They say that what you go through, you should grow through. Rebeccah is a sterling example of this.  Listen and learn how to view and cope with being blindsided when it happens to you… and it will. It happens to all of us!  Pay attention to your intentions, actions, and emotions. And, if you can, take the opportunity to reinvent yourself when necessary. She felt so depressed that it was difficult to get out of bed.  She was not even aware of all the mindset work she had to do.  Her work with Rebeccah showed her that she was on the right path towards a breakthrough.    Erin explained that a lot of her growth and breakthrough was an evolution… Moving from “Why is this happening TO me?” to “Why is this happening FOR me?” and even further to “Why is this happening THROUGH me?”    These days, Erin is a certified Integrative Life Coach and is in the process of building a Wellness Center with her sister and others.  She teaches yoga and workshops in energy and vision and helps others reach for their breakthrough!  She'll tell you that you can't let your challenges keep you down… that is not where you're meant to be!  The world needs what you have to offer.  Strive to be aware of the bigger meaning. When you're a whitewater river guide, severe back problems don't fit in with the program.  That's the predicament podcast guest Ken Streater found himself in when he was in his early thirties.  He spent a lot of time in bed and lost himself in a deep depression. He had a great discussion with Rebeccah Silence, host of the Tougher Together, Breakthrough podcast, and shared some insight to help us all get through the tough times.  Ken defines breakthrough as getting to a different plane of awareness through peeling the layers back.  One way to reach this higher awareness is to “unconditionally listen,” according to Ken.  This means quieting the noise in your head to keep it from interfering with your listening opportunities.  If you can't quiet the noise… go to Plan B, which is to keep your mouth shut!  Once he got back on track, he decided to increase his earnings by investing in real estate.  This was in 2006, and the market crashed in 2008, leaving Ken with major debt pressure and mortgages he was unable to meet.  He found himself in the abyss of depression once more, with sleepless nights and the fear of losing everything.  When he evaluated his career choices, he decided that rather than go back to the traditional definition of “success,” he would create a real estate brokerage that celebrates community. He began operating from a mindset of passion instead of profits, and it made all the difference.  These days, Ken takes walks. This time helps him to consider what's important to him.  He's learned to quiet the noise and lean into the pain. He observes that it's essential to have moments in your day doing something you really want to do.  As an internationally renowned author, Ken writes books about community and hosts a podcast about Good Change. Breakthrough hurts, says Ken… but don't be afraid of the pain.  The reward is such an epiphany, a moment of joy.    If you'd like to learn more about Ken Streater, visit his website. Everyone feels like giving up sometimes, but it feels like we're the only ones when we're going through it. The voices in our heads tell us that we can't do a thing, and it's often the same thing that we are, in fact, doing! Host of the Tougher Together Podcast, Rebeccah Silence, shares some information about quitting that's inspirational and practical at the same time.   As we explore quitting, Rebeccah poses the question, “How do we navigate wanting to quit?” It's easy to lose sight of the fact that every breakdown leads to a breakthrough if we're patient enough to work through to it. Having the patience to weather the storm and the willingness to work towards a breakthrough teaches us important life lessons that we can't afford to miss.  Most of us learn about quitting from watching someone close to us give up. When we see someone breaking through their perceived limitations, we can take encouragement from that.  Rebeccah shows that we have all the answers we need within ourselves… but we must learn OUR way to persevere.  She teaches us that if you commit to knowing that you did your best, you can avoid the regrets that come with quitting. We also learn that we need to pay attention to how we speak to others and ourselves.  What messages are we sending about quitting?  Learn more about Rebeccah's story and how she learned that it's okay to want to quit… you just can't do it!  The host of this podcast, Rebeccah Silence, is an Emotional Release Coach and self-defined Light Worker. She might still be living alone in the woods if she hadn't found support.  That's what podcast guest Annie Evans says, and host Rebeccah Silence agrees. In their discussion about the concepts of Breakdown and Breakthrough, Annie describes the feeling of being sad, stuck, and alone. She remembers a time when good days felt like an anomaly.    After doing the work she did with Rebeccah, she reinvented herself and reclaimed life on her own terms.  She admits it was scary and took a long time. But, at the same time, the more she did to move forward to Breakthrough, the more she was happy. That would spur her on!  Even though Annie's marriage was on the rocks, she knew she could not rush to dissolving it.  It was important to her to have a trauma-free divorce, and she knew she had to do things on her own timeline.  She kept moving forward, listening to herself and having faith in the outcome.  She's learned that it's about changing and pivoting when you realize you're not living the life you want. Setting solid boundaries is important… If it's not a Hell Yeah!, it's a NO.  It has to be a WIN/WIN for both parties.  It comes down to listening to your inner voice and doing the work. Because she avoided listening to herself, she felt like she remained in Breakdown for years… sad and hopeless.  Since she's learned to welcome the Breakdown and developed the ability to work through them quickly, she's also living her best life.  Happy in love, running her business, and living on the farm.  Her advice for those listening… DO NOT SETTLE!  If you'd like to learn more about Annie Evans, visit her website. Her life's purpose is to help others unlock bravery, light, perseverance, and joy to live their lives in abundance truly. It's a huge mission, but Lia Valencia Key feels up to the task!  In our Tougher Together podcast, Lia joins host Rebecca Silence to talk about the breakdowns and breakthroughs of life.  Lia has an amazing story of breaking generational curses and finding her light. She was born into poverty to a single mother, and her family was homeless when she was at an early age. Her mother's words stuck with her, though, when Mom told her, “Your predicament does not determine your destiny.”   These years later, as founder and creator of Valencia Key Jewelry, Lia expresses the vision and dream she has. She is helping others by creating wearable reminders to let people know what's possible. Her jewelry has indeed become that symbol of hope and possibility.  Mom's pointed question, “Do you want to be a follower or a leader?” led to a breakthrough for Lia. She soon learned to gravitate towards the Breakthrough and that they're closer than she realized.  She defines the concept of Breakthrough as something that occurs after a breakdown. It's getting to a pinnacle point that catapults you to the next level… where you know you're destined to be. This metamorphosis is something you must go through to bring about a change in spirit and mindset.  If you'd like to learn more about Lia Valencia Key and her jewelry line, visit her website.
