There is only one way to enter this “wounded families club” as fate calculates our memberships. Mirrored by our fallen heroes before us, we see and feel no prejudice, only the colors reflections of the Red, White & Blue of “Old Glory” as she waves freely from our humble abodes. As a Mother, the giver of LIFE, there is NO DEEPER, Penetrating Pain, than the loss of a child, no matter what age. Each Memorial Day I am once again confronted with the VOID of my own personal hero, my Stellar Marine son, who gave over twelve years of service to our great nation.  My family and I will celebrate his sacred place within our hearts as he was truly the consummate patriot. All across America we will celebrate this day filled with special tributes, parades, BBQ’s services to honor and recognize our fallen heroes and Veterans. Tamara Al Bayati was born in Baghdad in 1976. Like millions of others born in the Middle East - she had no control of her birthplace or her birth-religion. A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: "Dr. Gavin Ashenden has tendered his resignation from the honorary position of Chaplain to The Queen. The Royal Household has accepted the resignation with immediate effect." During a service at St Mary's Episcopal in Glasgow this past month to mark the feast of the Epiphany, there was a reading of... a passage from the Koran which said that Jesus was not the son of God. Well all of this got the dander up the Rev Gavin Ashenden - so much that he tendered his resignation as chaplain to the queen. He said the reading was “a fairly serious error” and one which he had a duty to speak out about. “To have a reading from the Koran at that point was a fairly serious error for the Christian worshipping community, but to choose the reading they chose doubled the error. Of all passages you might have read likely to cause offense, that was one of the most problematic.” The Rev Gavin Ashenden resides in the UK and partly in Normandy. He was until 2016 a part time parish priest, looking after a small parish on the Island of Jersey, part of the Channel Islands, just off the coast of Normandy, France, where he combined being a parish priest with writing. On the island of Jersey, he helped run weekly bible studies in the prison, and had a weekly column in the Island’s only newspaper, the Jersey Evening Post. He continues to write for the JEP once a fortnight. He grew up in Kent, and was educated at the King’s School in Canterbury. Meryl Streep took on President-elect Donald Trump as she was receiving her lifetime achievement award at the 74th annual Golden Globes. WHY? Why do entertainers and actors put their two cents in to a political argument when they need all political types to attend their shows, movies, buy their music, books and so forth? I sense the tension build as consumers over-extend their credit cards in hopes that they've done their diligence in completing the task and responsibility of being a good steward of Christmas. Nobody is truly talking about the real problems that illegal immigration is causing - specifically to minority Americans. Folks don’t seem to grasp that the very programs they support, and the very politicians they endorse and will vote for - are the very cause of what ails them, their communities and their country. Speaking before an audience of Black women, Hillary Clinton promised new public policies she believes could make the country “freer, fairer and stronger” relative to opportunities for children and fairness for families, including more support for families trying to balance child-care and work, affordable child care, paid family leave and equal pay for women. Is this not part of the problem to begin with - more support, more programs, more of what has created this culture - rather than a helping-hand up and not a hand out - ideas - education - jobs? Clinton didn’t remind her Black women’s audience that she is supporting work visas, amnesty and a pathway to citizenship for some illegal aliens that would legitimize up to 33M current and future immigrants to compete for jobs in the American economy. A4W feels that omission was purposeful and somewhat deceitful by Clinton as over 8 percent of black Americans are unemployed. Younger people are the worst off. Three in 10 black teens can't find jobs. Nearly 18 percent of Hispanic youth face a similar predicament. Trump made no comment in his speech about the negative impact of legal and illegal immigrant workers on Black unemployment but has made his overall position on immigration clear in previous statements. "Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are inherently flawed, and both inherently conflicted, when it comes to addressing the economic interests of black and hispanic Americans," says Thomas Broadwater. Oh no, I do mean literally! 79 million Americans Take Psychiatric Drugs! Worse even, well intentioned parents feed the drugs to their kids - all compliments of a drug-induced bureaucratic system that has gone both wild and unchecked. The Eggs Image, you might recall was the famous ad - This Is Your Brain On Drugs. It should be resurrected for the Pharma Industry! TV ads for prescription drugs are illegal in most countries, yet legal in two - and yes you guessed it - America is one of the two. I'll tell you the other one during the show :). TV ads encourage the pharmaceutical industry to cast a wider net for its drugs and to develop drugs that even healthy people would want to take - it's called ADVERTISING folks. These drugs expose people to unnecessary risks and discourage alternative, nonpharmaceutical treatments. Advertising campaigns also shift the market toward newer drugs, which are more expensive and possibly more risky - but what the hell - they make BIG PHARMA RICH! And then there's this notion that - 45% of Americans are mentally ill? At least some doctors seem to think that's the case. Dr. Gary Kohls discusses that issue as well as the roots of psychiatric problems. “If you say a lie often enough, people start believing in its truth,” says Dr. Gary Kohls. People are buying the drugs. And the IMPACT they’re having on society is not good. Drugs like VIOXX for Arthritis instead of ibuprofen  - but the drug increased the risk of heart attack and stroke. Kaiser Permanente ended up having to pull the ad campaign. The ad exposure led to inappropriate prescribing it was found. People died, and yet the FDA continues to look the other way. Dr Gary Kohls is a retired family practitioner, who specialized in holistic (non-drug) and preventive mental health care for the last decade of his career. Dr Kohls worked with previously psychologically traumatized, usually malnourished, sometimes seriously neglected, and always over-drugged patients - many who were labeled “mentally ill” erroneously. Over the decade prior to his retirement, Dr Kohls treated over 1,200 patients and developed a unique treatment regimen that we will talk about today. In an interview on 60 Minutes with Australia-based correspondent Michael Usher, Barbra Streisand said that if Trump is elected, "I'm either coming to Australia if you'll let me in, or Canada." Streisand is one of many entertainers who threaten their fans with promises to leave the country - if you don't elect their candidate to office. More and more the lines appear to be blurring when it comes to where you get your news and information from AND where you get your entertainment from! The catastrophic flood devastating Louisiana is now the worst natural disaster to strike the United States since Hurricane Sandy. Tens of thousands of homes damaged; some reports have it as high as 200,000 homes destroyed. In spite of the severe damage and loss of life - the tragedy has not received the attention nationally that it deserves. It did get Chef Gary LeBlanc's attention, as he arrived on the scene with two mobile kitchens, chefs, and a host of volunteers - within hours of the disaster. While most people run from disaster, Chef Gary runs straight into the heart of the disaster. "We got here just as quickly as we could get through the barricades and the roadblocks and the high water and started serving food immediately upon arrival,' said Mercy Chefs founder Gary LeBlanc." I got to the fifth car and had to stop. My spirit was weak. The first car I came to had a family inside, who waded out through the flood waters and borrowed a vehicle just to get to us for a meal. All they were able to salvage from their home was a pile of clothing, which was still wet in the back seat. They were on their way to the laundromat in hopes of changing for the first time in days. In the next car was a lady in her fifties. I asked how she was doing. She burst into tears and said, "I cannot even speak." She just cried and shook as I prayed for her. All she was able to tell me was, "I went through this in Hurricane Katrina ten years ago." As I continued down the line, each car had someone hurting so deeply that tears rolled down their face as I prayed with them. It didn't take long before I broke down and could go no further. We gathered a handful of pastors from the church and had them go down the line, one by one, to pray with each person as they waited for their meal. These are the people we are feeding here in Louisiana. Tired, broken and hurting men, women and children, whose lives have been turned upside down overnight. Everyone is still in survival mode right now. They are just doing their best to hold on and make it through, one day at a time.

The year was 1865, Abraham Lincoln's second inauguration — the president positioned his right hand on the Bible as he swore to preserve, protect and defend the U.S. Constitution. What happened next would change the course of history. President Lincoln spoke the words "So help me God!" ...as he bent forward and reverently kissed the Bible as Supreme Court Chief Justice Salmon Chase looked on. This first documented eyewitness account of a U.S. president asking for God's assistance at his inauguration was captured by a newspaper correspondent. There is no reference to God in the official 'oath of office' in the U.S. Constitution - but the words "so help me God" have nevertheless become the standard conclusion of the presidential oath. The framers barred any reference or requirement of religious affiliations for the office, yet it is widely known that U.S. presidents understand the importance of faith in God as they perform their duties. Are there any coincidences with the strange political happenings we've been experiencing as of late? Most Christian leaders will tell you that GOD is in control - not to worry. Let’s talk about the electorate a minute - according to Pew Research... those who identify themselves as “born-again or evangelical” Christians constitute a sizable share of the electorate – 36% of registered voters, compared with 37% who are non-evangelical Christians and 27% who identify with non-Christian faiths or with no religion at all. For many, Donald Trump has been a phenomenon with the evangelic vote. But why are christians really supporting Donald Trump? And how will Hillary Clinton do with the Christian vote? Some folks are not so up on the idea of a Trump Presidency! "I think he is without a moral core," says Michael Farris, an ordained Baptist minister and one of the founders of the Moral Majority. "He doesn't keep his word in his business transactions," Farris says. "He ridicules people. He doesn't believe anything about treating his neighbor better than himself. I mean, that's what the Bible teaches. We just don't see any semblance of honesty, decency, integrity." Yet many evangelical leaders are saying, "We're going to support this guy anyway." "Americans, I think, are looking for something else in their presidential candidates these days," says one historian. A willingness to speak plainly, perhaps, even without religious overtones - what a concept. We’re going to talk about the upcoming election and what God may have to say about all of this.

A thousand Spiritual leaders across America, including Judeo-Christian apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, gathered at a meeting that was closed to the media last week. This gathering was dubbed a "Conversation with Donald Trump and Ben Carson" and was emceed by Mike Huckabee. The meeting was initially planned as a small intimate gathering of 100 leaders, but quickly blossomed into a 'Spiritual Gathering of National Leaders' topping 1000. Evangelist Alveda King explained to me that "it still felt like a small intimate gathering", not an easy task to pull off my friends. Donald Trump said something that caught everyones attention -  "Of course pray for everybody... [but] we can’t be, again, politically correct and say we pray for all of our leaders, because all of your [political] leaders are selling Christianity down the tubes, selling the evangelicals down the tubes. And it’s a very, very bad thing that’s happening.” How did that statement go over with the folks in attendance? And is this Trump’s mojo that has caught on with the electorate? If you close your eyes and think back to the early beginnings of our existence - you can well imagine that some people were without home. Homelessness may very well be the oldest societal problem in the history of mankind. It impacts young and old, rich and poor nations; it's not gender based or knows not ethnic roots. What is most troubling to me is the WHY? Is it simply because it's not a priority to governments? Does humanity shoulder any of the responsibility? By humanity, I'm speaking of the 'we' as a collective peoples. Just look at the accomplishments 'we' have achieved. The 'we' can accomplish ANYTHING we set our minds on - including solving HOMELESSNESS. As I’ve reported on many times from my microphone – homelessness is a national tragedy here in America. According to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, last year, 578,424 people were homeless. 69 percent were staying in special programs for homeless people; 31 percent were living in unsheltered locations, i.e. sleeping on doorways, under bridges, or living in their car – if they have one. Surprisingly, nearly one-quarter of all homeless people were children under the age of 18. Almost 50,000 veterans were homeless on a single night. Just fewer than 10 percent (4,722) were women. More needs to be done to make homelessness a thing of the past – and that’s exactly how Brink Thinker Kevin Adler felt! “Someone who’s just homeless Joe or Jane to you or I could be the most important person in the world to that one person that’s looking for them. That’s what motivates this,” says Kevin Adler. The ‘this’ that Adler is referring to is his life changing project called MIRACLE MESSAGES. Adler creates a video message, posts it to YouTube and then through the power of social media – attempts to connect the homeless person with their family and/or friends. His goal is to reunite MILLIONS OF HOMELESS PEOPLE with their families through YouTube and social media.  The ‘why? Adler says “In memory of my Uncle Mark I’m traveling across the country with volunteers and helping folks just like my Uncle Mark reunite with their families before it’s too late.” Adler established ‘Miracle Messages’ in 2014 in honor of his Uncle Mark – who lived on-and-off the streets for 30 years. He says his idea was simple: “I wanted to do something using technology to help my homeless neighbors be seen as human.”  What are the chances it could be your dad, your sister or brother, an uncle perhaps? A buddy from the military, a friend from college? And then Adler hits it head-on when he says “be seen as human”. When you consider all that Israel has had to endure throughout it's history - there is only one conclusion - this is God's favor, this is God's choice, these are God's people. We are all God's people truly - but this jewish state is a miracle in-of-itself. Comey stated. So why the shift in policing? Comey once again repeated that he believes it's due to the "viral video effect". Those few seconds of a video that show force and then it goes viral. The reality is that the seconds before and after the video are never part of the media coverage - and this is truly the travesty. As Lt. Randy Sutton recently said to me, whenever you arrest someone or 'take them down' - it's not like they come willingly! Many of these criminals turn to brute force in these encounters with law enforcement. A Major Cities Chiefs Association quarterly report shows increasing crime rates across the nation. Cities across the U.S. are experiencing a surge in homicides - especially murder rates. Murders are up in roughly 30 cities nationwide so far this year. I submit to you, we are in uncharted territory. This is a new intersection of Washington politics meets "we the people". I mean listen, we've been talking about this moment for how many years now? You know, the moment "we the people" stand up against the entire political class. For better, for worse, that moment is now. And not to be a wise guy here, but I've predicted this moment for at least five years. I just knew there had to be a breaking point to just how much insanity - us regular folks - could take! To the point of Donald Trump. He scares the hell out of many of you! There are those who LOVE Trump and then there are those who HATE the man, his policies, but most of all, his temperament.  We like politicians to 'play pretty', and when they don't - well we quickly have a name or two for that - racist, bigot, egomaniac, bombastic, pompous, showman, arrogant, blowhard, and the list goes on... So my conservatives friends are upset; actually they're in denial, and they're not going to have it. Donald Trump can't be president, there is just no way! It doesn't matter that he got the most votes, like ever! It doesn't matter that his message has resonated with the electorate! He just can't be president. Some are even suggesting that perhaps Hillary 'Scandalous' Clinton, or as Donald affectionately calls her 'Crooked Hillary', maybe she isn't so bad. Maybe we could live with her for four years - and then we can push our 'guy' in there. And to my liberal friends, 'give me a break'! With every ounce of your being, look me in the eyes and tell me that you think Ms. Clinton is the perfect recipe for what our country needs next. I'm not even going to waste this space with the litany list of problems that another Clinton administration would represent. And don't give me the alternative Trump is worse. It's a cop-out and you know it! Stay with me here.
