David and Dan discuss how the Twins are using this time to prepare for the postseason, which begins after one final regular-season series this weekend. They look at the highlights on the field, like Matt Wallner's grand slam and Andrew Stevenson's dash around the bases, and they also look to the decisions Rocco is making now and how those might change in the Wild Card games. Dan wants to know whether Byron Buxton could return and be effective in centerfield, while David wonders whether Rocco will change his pinching ways in the postseason. They also look around the league at a series of milestones for coaches and players, both former and current. And that first night when I was on stage in front of the audience, I felt this feeling of being exactly where I was meant to be. That was the moment where everything shifted. And so I owe everything to that single moment of that teacher convincing me to be the lead role in the school musical. I all of a sudden had people cheering for me. I had parents asking me for my autograph as a kid. And that attention and being valued and being seen as being good at something and seeing that as an asset was the start of me rebuilding my self confidence that I'd lost. And it's just been a journey of progressing that and building ever since.”Episode #101 of The Hope Initiative with Andrew Stevenson.A fantastic human I have the pleasure to call a friend, Andrew Stevenson is a special human. In this conversation we cover some fairly deep things surrounding the passing of his father and how it has shaped the person he has become today. There are an increasing number of use cases for real time data, and the systems to power them are becoming more mature. Once you have a streaming platform up and running you need a way to keep an eye on it, including observability, discovery, and governance of your data. That's what the Lenses.io DataOps platform is built for. In this episode CTO Andrew Stevenson discusses the challenges that arise from building decoupled systems, the benefits of using SQL as the common interface for your data, and the metrics that need to be tracked to keep the overall system healthy. Observability and governance of streaming data requires a different approach than batch oriented workflows, and this episode does an excellent job of outlining the complexities involved and how to address them.
