POPULARITY
On this episode of Travis Makes Money, Travis and his producer Eric break down a wild new headline: top TikTok creator, Khaby Lame, reportedly selling his company and full AI likeness rights—face, voice, and behavior—for a staggering $900 million. They riff on what that means for creators, the ethics and upside of licensing your digital twin, and how AI is reshaping content, Hollywood, and the value of attention. Along the way, they veer into everything from Japanese conglomerates that make both bulldozers and magic wands to why practical filmmaking still matters in an AI-saturated world. On this episode we talk about: Khaby Lame's rise from 2020 pandemic creator to 160M+ TikTok followers and a $900M likeness deal What it really means to authorize your face, voice, and behavior for AI “digital twin” use The difference between using AI as a tool (editing, simulation) versus fully replacing human talent How AI content, deep fakes, and fake “news” clips are eroding trust in what we see online Why practical filmmaking tricks and imperfect, human moments still matter more than flawless AI shots Top 3 Takeaways The value of attention is exploding, and top creators can now monetize not just sponsorships and licensing, but their entire digital twin for generational wealth. There's a huge ethical and creative gap between using AI to support production (editing, simulations) and using it to fully replace human performers, likenesses, and original work. For most creators and entrepreneurs, the actionable move is simple: consistently create and publish, because you have no idea how valuable your personal brand and IP might become in a few short years. Notable Quotes “He sold his likeness for $900 million. I don't even know what to say. That breaks my brain.” “Churches are businesses and evangelizing is marketing and sales—but this AI likeness deal is like selling your soul on hard mode.” “If you're not creating content, you could be missing out on $900 million. You never know what one simple idea might turn into.” Connect with Travis: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/travischappell Twitter/X: https://twitter.com/traviscchappell Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/travischappell Website: https://travischappell.com Travis Makes Money is made possible by High Level – the All-In-One Sales & Marketing Platform built for agencies, by an agency.

In this episode, we dive deep into the constitutional showdown between President Trump and California Governor Newsom over the deployment of 2,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines to Los Angeles without state consent. We break down the complex legal battle involving Title 10 authority, the Posse Comitatus Act, and the 10th Amendment, featuring insights from top constitutional scholars and legal experts who are split on whether Trump has the authority to override a sitting governor. We also explore the dramatic political breakup between Trump and Elon Musk over a $2.4 trillion spending bill, the escalating immigration raids that sparked violent protests in LA, and the broader implications for federal-state relations. From Trump praising the National Guard hours before they even arrived, to threatening to arrest Governor Newsom, to the Justice Department's push to unwind decades-old desegregation orders - we examine how multiple constitutional crises are unfolding simultaneously. Reesa Teesa has taken over the FYP with her storytime, "Who the F Did I Marry?" (@reesamteesa on TikTok). She grew from 100k followers to 600k overnight. Then jumped to 700k+ while I was at the gym! I have not seen growth this fast since Khaby Lame, Charli D'Amelio and Addison Rae. After writing the script and going to bed, I woke up to Reesa having over 1 million followers! It has been so long since a new creator has reminded me of the magic of this app. Reesa is not following trends or viral hooks. Instead she is using the 10-minute feature and with UMG pulling their music off the app, I wouldn't be surprised if the algorithm is seeking out longer storytellers, like Reesa, to push out instead of trending audios. "The Tipping Point" by Malcolm Gladwell: https://amzn.to/3UN5D7L In this episode, I also discuss Billie Eilish vs. TikTokers at the "People's Choice Awards" and why I...kind of agreed with her? THE FUNNIEST TIKTOKS From comedy skits to dance routines to random tips and hacks, TikTok is home to video content about basically anything you can imagine. And with millions of users enjoying the app daily, it's no wonder why so many people are trying to launch their social media platform on TikTok. Whether you're new to the TikTok influencer game or you're an established creator, there are always new things you can learn to give your content a competitive edge. If you're looking to create viral content, keep in mind that there's no magic formula to become TikTok famous. But you can boost your chances of earning some internet fame by using TikTok voices. In the world of TikTok, getting one million views on a post isn't as big of a deal as you'd think. Truly viral posts get into the eight or nine figures. So the fact that Khaby Lame consistently gets at least 10 million views on his TikToks should show you how good they are. The comedian has made a name for himself as an everyman, pointing out the futility of overly complicated life hacks with a sarcastic smirk. Someone carefully performs “surgery” on a bag to extract a scrunchie and an AirPods case? Lame responds to the video by plopping down his backpack and unzipping it with a look on his face like, Can you believe this guy?

The inflation numbers have been released, and the news is not good for anyone. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) has increased to 8.3%. A 10.6% decline in gasoline prices was offset by increases in rent, food and health care. Food prices rose by .8%, with the cost of food consumed at home increasing by .7%. The increase in CPI feeds into the argument Chris and Saied have been making for some time, and that so many social media personalities refuse to accept. In today's episode of The Higher Standard, Chris and Saied discuss these new CPI numbers, the effect they're having on the economy, and the effect they will have on the Fed's upcoming rate hike decisions. They discuss the market's reaction to the news, including the increasing possibility that the Fed could bypass the .75% increase and go straight to a 1% increase. They also look at a recent report from Moody's Analytics, which says there are now 210 housing markets across the nation that are "significantly overvalued" — or overvalued by more than 25%. In those markets, Moody's predicts home prices to fall 5% to 10%. If a recession hits? Home prices in those regions could take 15% to 20% hits. Chris and Saied also discuss the phenomenon that is Kaby Lame, the TikTok star with 150 million followers, who is reportedly on track to make $150 million a year. This is a show you do not want to miss! Join Chris and Saied for this fascinating conversation. Enjoy! What You'll Learn in this Show: Why the recent CPI numbers could signal a 1% increase from the Fed. Moody's report of "significantly overvalued" housing markets across the country, which could lead to a massive price drop. How Khaby Lame could be making as much as $10 million a year as a social media personality - without ever saying a word. And so much more...

We find out what is really going on with her and Logan, her past relationship with Todd Smith, and may have actually stumbled into some Pete Davidson tea that no one has talked about before. We finish Olivia's interview with a game of FMK including Logan Paul, Mike Majlak, Jake Paul, Stassie Baby, Father Kels, Victoria Villarroel, Pete Davidson, Todd Smith, Bryce Hall, Griffin Johnson, and Josh Richards. Next up are headlines with Khaby Lame passing Charli D'Amelio as the most followed Tik Tokker and the Post getting cancelled for their headline, Charli and Landon Barker dating leading to Huddy unfollowing Charli and her whole family, Tommy Fury backing out of the Jake Paul fight, Jeff Wittek suing David Dobrik for $10m and David being defended by Johnny Depp's lawyers, Zack Bia and Olivia Rodrigo dating and if it is a coverup for a real Vinnie Hacker relationship, Ben Affleck's 10 year old son taking his dad's Lambo for a joyride, and Hailey Bieber being sued over her company Rhode.
