Reesa Teesa has taken over the FYP with her storytime, "Who the F Did I Marry?" (@reesamteesa on TikTok). She grew from 100k followers to 600k overnight. Then jumped to 700k+ while I was at the gym! I have not seen growth this fast since Khaby Lame, Charli D'Amelio and Addison Rae. After writing the script and going to bed, I woke up to Reesa having over 1 million followers! It has been so long since a new creator has reminded me of the magic of this app. Reesa is not following trends or viral hooks. Instead she is using the 10-minute feature and with UMG pulling their music off the app, I wouldn't be surprised if the algorithm is seeking out longer storytellers, like Reesa, to push out instead of trending audios. "The Tipping Point" by Malcolm Gladwell: https://amzn.to/3UN5D7L In this episode, I also discuss Billie Eilish vs. TikTokers at the "People's Choice Awards" and why I...kind of agreed with her? THE FUNNIEST TIKTOKS From comedy skits to dance routines to random tips and hacks, TikTok is home to video content about basically anything you can imagine. And with millions of users enjoying the app daily, it's no wonder why so many people are trying to launch their social media platform on TikTok. Whether you're new to the TikTok influencer game or you're an established creator, there are always new things you can learn to give your content a competitive edge. If you're looking to create viral content, keep in mind that there's no magic formula to become TikTok famous. But you can boost your chances of earning some internet fame by using TikTok voices. In the world of TikTok, getting one million views on a post isn't as big of a deal as you'd think. Truly viral posts get into the eight or nine figures. So the fact that Khaby Lame consistently gets at least 10 million views on his TikToks should show you how good they are. The comedian has made a name for himself as an everyman, pointing out the futility of overly complicated life hacks with a sarcastic smirk. Someone carefully performs “surgery” on a bag to extract a scrunchie and an AirPods case? Lame responds to the video by plopping down his backpack and unzipping it with a look on his face like, Can you believe this guy?

The inflation numbers have been released, and the news is not good for anyone. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) has increased to 8.3%. A 10.6% decline in gasoline prices was offset by increases in rent, food and health care. Food prices rose by .8%, with the cost of food consumed at home increasing by .7%. The increase in CPI feeds into the argument Chris and Saied have been making for some time, and that so many social media personalities refuse to accept. In today's episode of The Higher Standard, Chris and Saied discuss these new CPI numbers, the effect they're having on the economy, and the effect they will have on the Fed's upcoming rate hike decisions. They discuss the market's reaction to the news, including the increasing possibility that the Fed could bypass the .75% increase and go straight to a 1% increase. They also look at a recent report from Moody's Analytics, which says there are now 210 housing markets across the nation that are "significantly overvalued" — or overvalued by more than 25%. In those markets, Moody's predicts home prices to fall 5% to 10%. If a recession hits? Home prices in those regions could take 15% to 20% hits. We are joined this episode by Olivia O'Brien for the (technically) second time after she made a cameo in Mike Majlak's appearance. We start the show with what turns out to be an absolute evisceration of Olivia's latest ex, and are not at all shocked to find out that he follows Dave. We then get into Olivia's music career, her strategy of releasing songs instead albums to get her music out there, Alex Cooper starring in her music video, Logan Paul coming out at her Coachella set, and we end with a teaser of her new song "Got My Bitch Back" (rendition in the podcast performed by Tommy Smokes as the actual song is not out until early July). We find out what is really going on with her and Logan, her past relationship with Todd Smith, and may have actually stumbled into some Pete Davidson tea that no one has talked about before. We finish Olivia's interview with a game of FMK including Logan Paul, Mike Majlak, Jake Paul, Stassie Baby, Father Kels, Victoria Villarroel, Pete Davidson, Todd Smith, Bryce Hall, Griffin Johnson, and Josh Richards. Next up are headlines with Khaby Lame passing Charli D'Amelio as the most followed Tik Tokker and the Post getting cancelled for their headline, Charli and Landon Barker dating leading to Huddy unfollowing Charli and her whole family, Tommy Fury backing out of the Jake Paul fight, Jeff Wittek suing David Dobrik for $10m and David being defended by Johnny Depp's lawyers, Zack Bia and Olivia Rodrigo dating and if it is a coverup for a real Vinnie Hacker relationship, Ben Affleck's 10 year old son taking his dad's Lambo for a joyride, and Hailey Bieber being sued over her company Rhode. We finish with BFFs corner where Josh may have went as Jaden at VidCon, his new deal with Amazon TNF, and Harry Jowsey potentially having beef with O'Malley. Support our sponsors! Khabane Lame, a slender Senegalese man with long limbs and an expressive face living with his parents in Chivasso, Italy, has stolen the hearts of the world. “Khaby” Lame lost his job at a factory in the lockdown and began posting videos of himself on TikTok. At first, they were clips of himself dancing or doing comedy stunts. Then earlier this year he began making fun of the life-hack videos that flood social media platforms - by countering with a word-less demonstration of a simple alternative and reacting with a shrug or look of exasperation. The message and the expression stuck. Lame (Lah- MAY) is now the 2nd most popular person on TikTok and gaining nearly some 200,000 followers a day. Apparently, we really do prefer to keep it simple. A simple plan for our hearts is our theme this week.
