Spencer Potter, Founder/CEO of ClubGrub joined Rob Thomas on the Club + Resort Talks podcast to discuss the evolution and benefits of ClubGrub, a mobile ordering platform tailored for golf courses. ClubGrub, which integrates with existing POS systems, allows golfers to order from the clubhouse or snack bar via a user-friendly app, enhancing convenience and profitability for clubs. Potter highlighted that more than 95% of orders no longer include hot dogs, with golfers opting for fresher, more elevated menu items. The platform has led to a 30-45% revenue increase for many clubs. Potter emphasized the importance of user-friendly technology and the potential for future advancements like autonomous delivery. Thomas also covered some recent news from across the club and resort industry, including: Starmount Forest Country Club in Greensboro, N.C., enlisted golf course architect Kris Spence to redesign the course in a manner that brings it stylistically closer to a course from 1931. In addition to a new state-of-the-art irrigation system and upgraded drainage, environmental sustainability is a top focus. Winnetka (Ill.) Golf Club earned designation as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, highlighting the club's commitment to wildlife conservation, sustainable maintenance practices, and environmental education. “Our team has worked tirelessly to enhance natural habitats, support pollinators, and implement eco-friendly practices across the course,” says Andrew Garner, Director of Agronomy at Winnetka Golf Club. Desert Dunes Golf Course in Desert Hot Springs, Calif., closed. It struggled with environmental and structural hurdles throughout its history, while the course's infrastructure required significant and costly maintenance.
Christian Fea, co-founder and CEO of Monarch Technologies, discussed the launch of their closed-loop mobile app, BFLI, designed for the cannabis industry. BFLI aims to reduce cash transactions, which currently constitute 50% of cannabis payments, by offering a compliant, digital payment solution. FEA highlighted the challenges of cannabis banking, with only 200-250 banks accepting cannabis accounts. He also mentioned partnerships with cities like Desert Hot Springs for tax collection and compliance, and the potential for future lending services. The app, available on Apple and Google, is designed to streamline payments and tax processes, offering a more secure and efficient alternative to cash transactions.Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

We made it through our first episode of Season 3! We are excited to have pulled this off in the new format- live! In the episode, we talked a lot about the mythological animal called “work-life balance” and got real about some of our sacrifices, SNAFUs and the shitshow that is our household much of the time. While recording this podcast live, our producer was hunkered down in Florida during a hurricane and our dog was in a cone recovering from surgery. We mean it when we say the shitshow is real. We also talked a lot about these life rules we all seem to live by. Whether they are inherited by family of origin, pressured from society at large, or something we made up at some point in our lives, we continue to follow them, yet we are miserable. Let's interrupt this! Start questioning your rules and make new ones. We also spoke very candidly about some of their “divorceable conversations” where we have broken the terror barriers and are just as honest as can be with each other and continue to allow the evolution of our marriage and sex life, including changing rules every once in a while. Mark your calendars for noon PT on Wednesdays. There will be live episodes or IG lives to look out for, and we are excited about our Season 3 lineup of guests. We really appreciate you and all of your support. You are not alone, Amy & John & the DR & the DJ Crew PS. Did you catch the news that we have an upcoming Retreat this Fall? We are going to Desert Hot Springs near Palms Springs for 4 days and 3 nights, with a little Joshua Tree in there. More info and to reserve your spot HERE. *Reminder: Nothing in this podcast is a substitute for medical or professional advice. Please always consult your doctor.
When you look at the big red danger zone in the middle of the Weather Service maps this evening, you will see that we are in it, right up at the north end of the highest predicted rainfall and flooding. Maybe that means we don't get it as bad or for as long as our friends from the border zone up through Coachella Valley to Palm Springs and Desert Hot Springs, maybe it means nothing of the sort. Prepare for a lot of rain, maybe a couple of years worth of rain. Prepare for a lot of water in a lot of place we don't often see it. And up here around Joshua Tree and Yucca Valley and 29 Palms, prepare to hang around for a while. You may not be able to get down the hill for a while.Support the show: https://www.patreon.com/desertoracleSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Welcome back Worthiness Warriors, and happy Thursday! Hello from Desert Hot Springs, outside of Joshua Tree! Today as you're listening to this, I am on day 1 of my Joshua Tree retreat! I'm so excited, I cannot contain myself! I am announcing my next retreat soon, which will take place from May 18th through the 22nd. I expect it to sell out really quickly, so get in quickly. February is historically one of my busiest months, and typically that's because I'm talking a lot about self-love, self-worth, and self-acceptance. These things come up a lot alongside relationships because you can't be in a truly loving and committed relationship without having a good sense of the things above. I'm curious, what does it mean to love yourself? In different seasons of life, we need a different kind of love from ourselves. What kind of love do you need now? If you want to work with me 1-on-1 with me click here. Thank you, and have a beautiful rest of your day. I'll see you next week. Anti-Racist Hot Dog Conversation Cards Kickstarter by Wandile Mthiyane

The Devil Wears Prada certainly don't mess around.Following 2019s album The Act and 2021s EP ZII, the band quickly entered the studio again and have recently released album number eight, Color Decay.Created in remote hideaways in Wisconsin and Desert Hot Springs, California, Color Decay is cited as a metalcore masterpiece and a defining moment for The Devil Wears Prada. To find out if this is true HEAVY caught up with guitarist/vocals Jeremy DePoyster to find out more, starting with the early response to the album."Through the roof," DePoynter smiled. "We are floored by the reaction to it. In 2022 it kind of feels like our main goal is building an authentic emotional connection with our audience and this really happened here. Obviously, we love making fun, spicy, heavy songs about Zombies, but it's a totally different feeling when you can connect emotionally with people and that's great."After eight albums The Devil Wears Prada should be comfortable in their musical output, but we pose the question of what the band actually gauges the success of a release on."It's almost 100% fan reaction, with a little bit of reviews mixed in," he replied. "But almost 100% fan reaction, because that's the reason we're here, those are the people that come to our shows, those are the people that listen to us on Spotify and everywhere else. That's it (laughs). I don't care about sales at all. It means nothing to me."In the full interview, Jeremy discusses the ever evolving sonic style on Color Decay, whether that is planned or more natural, the themes that run through the album and how personal they are, creating the album in the secluded environment and why, the benefits of having someone inside the band produce Color Decay, how this album defines the band, the early days of The Devil Wears Prada and where they fit in, future plans and more.
We had the pleasure of interviewing The Devil Wears Prada over Zoom video. The Devil Wears Prada — Mike Hranica [vocals], Jeremy DePoyster [vocals, guitar], Mason Nagy [bass], Kyle Sipress [guitar], Jonathan Gering [keys, synthesizers], and Giuseppe Capolupo [drums] — recently announced their eighth album Color Decay. It arrives on September 16 via Solid State. Pre-order it here. The Devil Wears Prada have been consistently delivering since forming in 2005. Fans voted 2009's seminal With Roots Above and Branches Below one of the 5 Greatest Metalcore Albums in a Revolver poll, with the magazine christening it "a true metalcore landmark." The group has notched six consecutive Top 5 debuts on the Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums Chart, including Dead Throne [2011], 8:18 [2013], Space EP [2015], Transit Blues [2016], The Act [2019], and ZII EP [2021]. The latter served as a sequel to one of their most beloved projects — 2010's Zombie EP. In the wake of the EP, the group exceeded a-quarter-of-a-billion cumulative streams and views. During 2021, the musicians decamped to remote hideaways together in Wisconsin and Desert Hot Springs, California. This time around, Jon took the reins as producer, collaborating closely to assemble a rich sonic architecture for what would become Color Decay. The band will also embark on a Summer 2022 headline tour. TDWP will hit the road on August 4 in Milwaukee and the trek runs through September 10 in Columbia, South Carolina. Stray From the Path and Dying Wish will also appear. All dates are below. Get tickets here. The Devil Wears Prada will perform the Zombie EP and the ZII EP in full, along with a selection of greatest hits, making each show a special night for TDWP fans both new and old! The app Link2Valves helps to make faster, more intelligent decisions on water system infrastructure. It has an intuitive and user-friendly design, with precise and easy-to-interpret data while maximizing maintenance efficiencies for automatic control valves and other water system assets. Here to break down Link2Valves on this episode of The Valve Chronicles is Jake Corzine, Western Regional Manager for Cla-Val, and Tim Neumann, the Production Facilities Lead at Mission Springs Water District, which provides, protects, and preserves water in Desert Hot Springs, California, and the surrounding areas. The two talked with Host Tyler Kern about Link2Valves. Neumann was introduced to Link2Valves when he worked for the City of Redlands and was tasked with monitoring 18 modulating valves, which are the lifeblood of the Redlands system, according to Neumann. There were no maintenance records on the valves, and he inquired that if he was going to do 18 valves, he should also do all the valves in the city“They kind of looked and me and said ‘Really?'” Neumann recalled. “It kind of went from there, and I started using Link2Valves as soon as it came out.” One of his favorite aspects is the geo-location, especially when having new staff, as they can be directed to the valve's location. It also provides information on the type of valve and its function, which is a significant convenience for Neumann when maintaining the valves. “The other thing I think is really nice is the monthly report you can get sent to you in email format,” Neumann said. “When you have a bunch of different job duties, it is important to get that reminder.”

Technology is taking big steps in the housing industry with 3D printed homes. Developers are pushing them as “cheaper, stronger, and more efficient” than traditional homes, and the idea is gaining ground. With affordable housing in short supply, energy efficiency becoming a mandate, and the threat of more severe weather-events, 3D printed homes could provide a desirable eco-friendly option.Hi, I'm Kathy Fettke and this is Real Estate News for Investors. If you like our podcast, please subscribe and leave us a review.A husband and wife team are building a 3D printed home in Tallahassee, Florida, that they expect to put on the market next month. It will be a 3-bedroom, 2-bath 1,440 square foot home with an asking price between $175,000 and $225,000. One of the big benefits for this kind of home in a state like Florida is the strength of the building material. Promoters say they will withstand hurricanes and flooding much better than traditional homes. And, they say these homes will also be more resistant to mold, which is a problem in areas with high humidity. Plus, they can be energy efficient, and built more quickly at a less expensive price point.3D Printer Looks Like a Car WashThe process involves a printer that looks more like a car wash but squirts out a cement-like mixture in a back-and-forth motion that's dictated by high-tech computer programs. They come in all sizes depending on the size of the building you want to create. According to the South Florida Sun Sentinel, the printers can range in size from about 10 x 10 feet to 100 x 100 feet and cost between a half million and $700,000. (1)The owners of the company printing the home in Tallahassee, Kyndra and James Light, told the Sun Sentinel: “Make no mistake, these houses are not your average test models.” They claim: “The finished product is far superior in strength, durability, and efficiency.”A 3D-printed home in Riverhead, New York was the first one on the U.S. market. It was listed during the summer for about $300,000. Four other 3D-printed homes in Austin, Texas, were also reportedly ready for occupants over the summer. And a community of 15 eco-friendly 3D-printed homes was supposed to break ground last month in Rancho Mirage, California, near Palm Springs, but developers are working through some regulatory delays.World's First Net Zero 3D Printed Home CommunityDevelopment company, Palari, and construction technology company, Mighty Buildings, are working together on the Rancho Mirage project. Palari claims to be “reimagining” real estate with “innovative and sustainable building strategies.” (2) MIghty Buildings says it will revolutionize home construction with 3D-printing technology. (3) They announced their plan for Rancho Mirage last spring, saying they had secured a 5-acre site and would break ground in September on the world's first 3D printed net zero energy community. (4)According to the Desert Sun, Mighty Buildings had previously built smaller accessory dwelling units with state approval. Co-Founder, Sam Ruben, told the Sun that homes for the Rancho Mirage plan would be larger, with upgraded material that is not yet approved by state officials. He says: “The units we are going to be delivering for Rancho Mirage are utilizing our next-generation material which incorporates fiber reinforcement that adds strength and performance.” Ruben says he isn't anticipating a problem with the approval, and the Palari website says that the Rancho Mirage homes will be ready for delivery in spring of next year.In addition to 1,450 square feet of living space, each home will sit on a 10,000 square foot lot. They will each have a swimming pool, and customizable options such as cabanas, hot tubs, fire pits, and outdoor showers. They will also have solar power for a net-zero carbon footprint, and a mid-century modern design.Other Communities Planned for CaliforniaPalari and Mighty Buildings already have several other projects in the works. The Palari website lists two more for the Palm Springs area including one community in Palm Springs and another in the nearby Desert Hot Springs. Their California project list also includes developments in the San Fernando Valley, the Central Coast, the East Bay, and Napa. You can find out more about those two companies and their plans by following links in the show notes at newsforinvestors.com. Long known as “the spa city,” Desert Hot Springs is looking to expand its relaxation and recreational offerings by going big on so-called “cannatourism.” The Coachella Valley community recently approved a pair of ordinances that will allow for consumption and sales of pot at hotels and entertainment venues. Already a hotbed of cannabis cultivation and production, the city is betting on tourists stopping to sample the industry’s wares as they explore nearby Joshua Tree National Park and the rest of the desert.
This week, Ben and Vinnie Celani, co-founders of High Life Farms, discuss their operations in California and Michigan — and continued expansion. The brothers take a divide-and-conquer approach to operations, with Vinnie overseeing sales and marketing and Ben leading the cultivation side of the multi-state operator (MSO).High Life primarily conducts cultivation, manufacturing and distribution in California, while its Michigan operations are more vertically integrated.Upon founding the business, High Life grew rapidly. In Michigan, the company grows flower and produces edibles, working closely with partners at Wana and Kiva on product development. The company currently has 150 employees and plans to add more than 50 more jobs by the end of 2021.In California, cultivation is the focus, with another 75 employees working toward the company's white-labeling and contract manufacturing efforts.According to Ben, most of the equipment in Michigan and California is the same, with a few differences as a result of climate variations: the weather in Chesaning, Michigan, is a bit different than in Desert Hot Springs, California.Vinnie admits that High Life tried to expand too quickly. The company previously had operations in Colorado, but they decided to leave the already established market for better opportunities in California and Michigan. While they were selling in Colorado, they were ramping up in California and Michigan, and Ben admits that they bit off more than they could chew. However, the growing pains helped the brothers become more methodical, building the business piece-by-piece.Many of the early challenges were solved by trial and error, and many late nights fixing problems with HVAC systems and irrigation. Cannabis leaves very little room for error. High Life remains privately held and self-funded. Although making things work is more difficult on their own dime, it allowed the brothers to stay nimble and make quick, strategic decisions. Ben describes the Michigan side of the business as “medium” vertically integrated as a result of a 50/50 partnership with Joyology dispensaries. High Life has big plans for the Michigan market, including 30 new dispensaries by the end of this year and 60 within the next 24 months. The big opportunity in Michigan is edibles. The company saw seasonal trends with the flower market that haven't translated to edibles. High Life is currently producing 80,000 gummie 10-packs every day, all hand-mixed and handmade over two shifts. The company is also cultivating about 50-55 pounds per square foot over 250,000 sq-ft of grow space, hand trimming about 80% of the crop. So far, the record harvest has been about 290 pounds, but new greenhouses coming online in Michigan (with the first harvest scheduled for April) will reach 450 to 500 pounds per harvest, with 15 harvests expected per year. The market opportunity will only continue to expand, particularly with the onset of federal legalization. Vinnie optimistically predicts legalization at the federal level within the next 24 months, although he admits that it faces many hurdles. The company will also continue to expand white-labeling efforts and strategic partnerships in California. For Vinnie, it's a point of pride to be able to walk into a dispensary and see High Life's flower sold under five to 10 different brands. As for the future, Ben argues that "Big Cannabis" is coming, and large operators like High Life are necessary to keep quality cannabis in the game — and make sure that consumers receive a quality product. The Cannabis Equipment News Podcast is an interview series with growers, processors, manufacturers, distributors and other professionals who work within the legal
Riverside County health officials announced a milestone of giving over 500,000 coronavirus vaccine doses. This comes as the county prepares to receive its first shipment of Johnson & Johnson vaccine as early as next week. “We are looking at areas of the county where logistically it would make sense to utilize that vaccine because it is a single dose," said Public Health Director Dr. Kim Saruwatari at Tuesday's Board of Supervisors meeting. "We’re expecting guidelines out from the state of California in the next few days and then we will take those and incorporate those into our local planning efforts.” The county is also planning a series of changes this week to provide more vaccination opportunities. Three sites will be opened Wednesday and operated by OptumServe in Norco (1377 Hamner Ave.), Temecula (39716 Winchester Road) and Desert Hot Springs (11711 West Drive). The vaccine site at the Lake Elsinore Stadium, which previously operated two days a week, will be expanded to hours
