The Kouri Richins murder trial begins February 23rd—and the prosecution has taken major hits before opening statements.Robert Crozier, the man who allegedly sold fentanyl to Kouri's housekeeper Carmen Lauber, has signed a sworn affidavit recanting his original statement. He now claims he sold OxyContin, not fentanyl, and says he was detoxing and "out of it" when he spoke to detectives in 2023.The defense argues this destroys the state's theory. If Crozier didn't provide fentanyl, Lauber couldn't have sold fentanyl to Kouri, and prosecutors can't place the murder weapon in her hands. Judge Richard Mrazik acknowledged this could "poke holes" in the case but denied bail anyway, saying substantial evidence remains. Now a new defense motion alleges prosecutors are intimidating witnesses—threatening arrest and suggesting immunity could be revoked if witnesses don't cooperate with additional preparation meetings.True Crime Today examines every pretrial ruling and what they mean for trial. The 26 financial fraud charges severed from the murder case. The domestic violence expert blocked entirely. The FBI profiler limited to rebuttal testimony only. The statements suppressed after detectives failed to Mirandize Kouri during a 2022 search. We also break down what prosecutors still have: Carmen Lauber's testimony, Eric's toxicology showing five times the lethal dose of fentanyl, the orange notebook allegedly detailing the night he died, and the "Walk the Dog" letter found in Kouri's jail cell that prosecutors call witness tampering. The defense says it was fiction. No fentanyl was ever recovered. No pills. No forensic link. 80% of Summit County residents recognize this case—and eight jurors from that county will decide Kouri's fate. This is everything you need to know before testimony begins.#KouriRichins #EricRichins #KouriRichinsTrial #TrueCrimeToday #WitnessRecants #FentanylMurder #WalkTheDogLetter #UtahMurderTrial #PretrialRulings #TrueCrimeJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski | True Crime News & Commentary
Eric Richins had five times the lethal dose of fentanyl in his system. But no fentanyl was ever recovered. No pills. No forensic link tying Kouri Richins directly to the drugs. And now the witness who was supposed to prove where the fentanyl came from has recanted.Robert Crozier originally told investigators he sold fentanyl to the housekeeper in the alleged drug chain. Now he's signed a sworn affidavit saying it was OxyContin, not fentanyl—and that he was detoxing and "out of it" during the original interview. The defense says this eviscerates the prosecution's sourcing theory. If Crozier didn't provide fentanyl, the chain that supposedly put the murder weapon in Kouri's hands falls apart. But that's not the only bomb dropped before trial. A new motion alleges prosecutors are intimidating witnesses—threatening arrest and suggesting immunity could be revoked if witnesses don't cooperate with additional meetings.Defense attorney Eric Faddis breaks down what these developments mean. Is witness intimidation a legitimate concern or standard trial prep? Can prosecutors pivot on the drug sourcing without destroying their credibility? And what happens when your case depends on proving a poisoning you can't forensically connect to the defendant? We examine every pretrial ruling: the 26 financial fraud charges severed from the murder trial, the FBI profiler limited to rebuttal, the domestic violence expert blocked entirely, and the "Walk the Dog" letter allegedly found in Kouri's jail cell—prosecutors say it instructed her mother how to lie on the stand. The defense says it was fiction.80% of Summit County residents recognize this case. Visit us at shapedbydog.com The first two weeks with your puppy are when what you grow is what you get. In these early days, everyday choices shape how your puppy learns, rests, and stays engaged long before cues are added. In this episode, I share a real-life puppy story to show how well-intended decisions can accidentally grow behaviors you weren't aiming to teach, and why raising a puppy with the future in mind supports clarity, confidence, and the relationship you're building as your puppy develops. In this episode, you'll hear: • How small, everyday choices can accidentally grow puppy behaviors you don't want to see. • A real-life puppy story that highlights common early choices. • Two critical lessons for new puppy owners. • Why management is proactive, not restrictive. • What early crate, sleep, and management choices are really teaching. • Why positive training is not permissive training. • What good leadership looks like with a puppy. • How off-leash freedom too soon can lead to disengagement. • Why a puppy's name should be protected and meaningful. • Why naming behaviors too early can create confusion. • Why behaviors should be conditioned before cues are added. • How cues lose clarity when used as praise. • What it means to raise a puppy using a long-term lens. • How Recallers games support focus, engagement, and early learning. In the previous episode, we talked about how dogs understand our emotions and how they communicate without words. Today, I want to continue that conversation, but from a different angle. Instead of focusing on emotions, we're going to look at how dogs experience the world, how they gather information, and why they naturally look to humans for guidance. Because dogs don't just feel with us. They observe, analyze, and cooperate with us in ways that are easy to overlook. A tribute to lead vocalist and co-founder of Three Dog Night, Chuck Negron, who passed away earlier this week. (48 minutes)
Tom Brady set off a full-blown Patriots fan meltdown after saying he has “no dog in the fight” when asked who he's rooting for in the Super Bowl. Boston fans and former Patriots are ripping him for sounding cold, scripted, and weirdly detached from the franchise that made him. The guys break down the full context of the clip, why the “resume speech” made it worse, and whether Brady is trying to please everyone as a broadcaster and part-owner of the Raiders. Plus, the show compares it to the old “Tiki rooted against the Giants” stereotype, talks loyalty in sports, and takes calls from fans with theories on what Brady is really doing.
iki and Evan dive into the controversy surrounding Tom Brady's recent comments about the Patriots in the Super Bowl. Despite his former teammate Mike Vrabel coaching New England, Brady claims he has "no dog in the fight," sparking outrage among Boston fans and former players. The guys debate whether Brady is being corporate, disconnected, or just trying to protect his new ownership interests. Later, the show shifts to Major League Baseball as the Detroit Tigers make a splash by signing Framber Valdez, leading to a debate on whether the Tigers are now legitimate threats to the New York Yankees in the American League.

Confusing great culture with unconditional acceptance is one of the fastest ways to destroy a business. In this episode of The Game Changing Attorney Podcast, Michael and Jessica Mogill challenge the belief that accountability and close relationships can't coexist. The conversation begins with Michael reflecting on Steve Wynn's philosophy of creativity and how it applies to standing out in saturated markets, then shifts into three critical questions about culture, accountability, and performance. From diagnosing silent culture problems to justifying special privileges for top performers, this episode tackles the hard truths that most leaders avoid. The tightest cultures are built on standards, not sentiment. Here's what you'll learn: Why creativity is not about invention but about creating contrast between expectation and reality How to maintain accountability and culture simultaneously without confusing the two Why special talent deserves special privileges and how to defend that to your team Unconditional love has no place in business. Unconditional standards do. ---- 02:25 – Michael Mogill explains Steve Wynn's definition of creativity as the clash between thesis and antithesis. 03:54 – How the Game Changers Summit became innovative by defying conference expectations rather than matching them. 11:09 – Jessica Mogill shares how skip-level meetings reveal patterns and uncover real culture problems. 13:43 – Why calling your business a family creates unconditional expectations that destroy accountability. 15:45 – How transparency with performance data prevents resentment when underperformers are let go. 17:39 – Why exceptional performers deserve exceptional privileges and how to defend that decision. 18:52 – The NFL veteran principle: special treatment must be earned daily and can be taken away. ---- Links & Resources: Steve Wynn Video on Creativity The Mirage The Game Changers Summit Fyre Festival The Power of the Dog by Don Winslow ---- Learn what sustainable growth can look like for your firm at crispcoach.com. ---- Do you love this podcast and want to see more game changing content?
