We may argue that all dogs go to Heaven, but do they care if they're seen on Google Maps "Street View" shots? Google thinks so. You may have heard warnings to never order anything from Amazon while consuming alcohol. As you'll hear from my Insane FL Nephew, "Pancho Guero", this also would include calling Uber for a ride, as one British lady found out. First impressions are everything & for one divorced mom, this was a stupid one for both her experience with Tinder...& her date. Pancho also tells of yet another account of how foreign objects find their way inside the body cavities of humans. Like the lady who discovered a shot glass somehow wound up in her BLADDER for 4 years! There's also these stories of stupidity...  A Dentist Cracked People's Teeth on Purpose so He Could Charge More;  A Guy Is Begging Pranksters to Remove the Giant Kmart "K" They Put in His Front Lawn;  A Refrigerator Repairman Stole $30,000 Worth of Turtles;  A Guy Moved into His Cubicle to Avoid Rent and Protest His Low Pay;  Someone Stole an Actual Fork in the Road;  Flock Of Escaped Chickens Ride Shotgun To Dunkin' Drive-Through;  PA Firefighters Rush To Rescue Pet Stuck On Roof Only To Find A Happy Dog Who Likes Heights;  Professor Suing Students for Copyright Infringement to Try to Find Cheaters After Exam Posted Online;  Someone Stole an Actual Fork in the Road;  Rich Guy Gave Away $200,000 in Free Gas, Causing Huge Traffic Jams;  TikToker Secretly Stalks Her Ex While He Stalks Her Instagram for 3 Years;  Cricket juice healthier than orange juice? Insects loaded with antioxidants, research shows;  New Health Trend: Drinking Fish Tank Cleaner to Stay Young;  A Guy Slept in a Stranger's House After Mistaking It for His Airbnb;  Putin Cut Off From Precious Botox Supply Due to War Against Ukraine;  JetBlue passengers left waiting on plane after airport crew leaves for night.  More sage wisdom for 2 more folks who want to "ASK PANCHO" about some advice such as: "What's The Best Flavored Seltzer" & "I Found Out My Daughter Has Business Cards To Write Fellow Student's Essays". The Pedalshift Project: Bicycle Touring Podcast

It's the first tour of 2022, and it's got, perhaps, a magical twist? I'm escaping the cold northeastern US winter and trading it in for sunshine, and a multiway trek across central Florida on my trusty Brompton. Similar route, totally different finish from  past years... what's this year's winter tour look like? Tampa to Disney World Bike Tour Preview A year off, but back with another central Florida in winter tour Adding some new complexity to this one with some exploration of cycling in and around the WDW property in a calculated and safe fashion   The basics   TPA-Orlando area Brompton 3 days of riding All roofed lodging Minimal gear and carry New things I'm trying this trip - a new more elasticy, form-fitting Brompton cover that I'm very excited about (#stealthmode)   Rough Itinerary   Day 1 - Fly DC to TPA early; ride to Lakeland, FL (~45 miles) Day 2 - Casual start ; ride to WDW resort (~48 miles) Day 3 - Ride from resort up and around WDW property, including multiple resort cycling paths (~25-30 miles)   Routing   Day 1 ride is directly from TPA airport (2019 got a ride, 2020 rode to TPA) Considered a slightly further north than my 2019 route, but wanted to ride through downtown and the beautiful waterfront trail, so I added a couple of extra miles...  then I rejoin the 2019 route until I hit Lakeland Slightly different route in Lakeland to account for staying on the northeast side of town, rather than the rental I did last time Decided on hotel over Airbnb largely for value vs. cost   Day 2 ride initially was going to end after Dean Still Rd, the long rural straight west to east shot to the south of Disney property Many of the Disney roads are shoulderless and high speed, and frankly just not safe to ride Original plan was I'd do day 3 riding on resort paths, but was finding a dearth of info on whether I could bring my Brompton on Disney transportation between resorts (leaning no, but maybe stealth mode it passes as a stroller?) OR if I could get past  security via rideshare for resorts I wasn't staying at without a dining reservation (probably? maybe? unclear). I was pretty stuck BUT,  an email got me rethinking things Listener and central Floridian cyclist Dale P. sent me an email about roads to ride in the area and also alerting me to a brand new video that was put up by YouTube Alex Regino about... you guessed it... cycling on Disney property (video here) Turns out there are a few newish roads on property and a few lesser-traveled ones that are not take-your-life-in-your-hands riding AND it seems that cycling into at least one of the resort properties was not barred. So I spent some time on Google Maps Street View and... I can safely ride to the resort I'm staying at on day 2, which to me is a HUGE win. I'll document it all for you, of course.   Day 3 is the fun one. Going back to the Dale and Alex tips, I'll backtrack out of my resort and go to the northern side of the property and re-enter using the route suggested by Alex. From there I'll do about 25-30 miles of riding through some of the bike-specific paths available (Wilderness Lodge, Fort Wilderness, Old Key West and Saratoga Springs... perhaps others). My hope is to lay down a route for anyone who brings a bike to WDW and wants to ride, along with a real assessment of safety. Then that night I'm going to celebrate by drinking around the Monorail resorts... sans bike.   Weather   Could be hot (it's been in the upper 80s within the last week or two) Could be cold (it's been in the 50s in the last week or two) Looks to be dry and seasonal though - low chance of rain and highs in the upper 70s or very low 80s with some overcast skies (WAHOO!) I'll make sure I dial in the right gear based on weather forecasts as I get within a couple of days of leaving Seems like this will match the two previous rides (earlier in the year in 2019 and 2020) I encountered really excellent conditions, and only a bit of drizzle in 2020   Documenting the ride   Pretty much all of the March episodes of the pod I might try to do  some video on this one, particularly the WDW riding  - TBD I'll also be able to assess what resorts are the best ones to consider if you're hoping to bicycle to them.   Wrapup   Excited to share this one with you, and particularly intrigued with the unusual nature of the WDW resort riding... this is certainly a route not done very often, and while I have to assume someone has included WDW as a stop on a contiguous bicycle tour, there's nothing I can dig up on it. Also, the Disney property is full of really interesting flora and fauna for day 3, so it should be a unique way to wrap up the tour.   Pedalshift Society As always we like to close out the show with a special shoutout to the Pedalshift Society! Recreated in 1983, New Fantasyland took a Renaissance fair and converted it into a European Village where each pocket of the land would be transformed into a unique villagers' house or shop—transforming 5 buildings into a little village protected by the walls of Sleeping Beauty's Castle. Subscribe and listen to this episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, GooglePlay, or iHeartRadio! Many of us are feeling more stress and anxiety these days, during this COVID-19 crisis. Our normal routines have changed. Some people are experiencing job losses or health issues. Families are adjusting to parents working from home, and kids home schooling. People who live alone are very isolated.   Fortunately, there are many resources to help reduce stress and anxiety, from the comfort of our homes. My dear friend, Connie Viglietti, is a certified yoga and meditation teacher and a wellness coach. Connie is co-founder of Emaya, a women’s wellness company. She’s also a wife and a mom, and she shares how her family is dealing with stress and anxiety during this trying time. You can connect with Connie at Emaya’s website, or on Facebook or Instagram.  Disney Fun Disney has been creating and releasing for us some great sources of education and entertainment, for both kids and adults.  Disney+ continues to be an amazing source of Disney entertainment. Disney released Frozen II much earlier than anticipated, and it is now available. Onward is available on Disney+ as of April 3rd, and it is available now for digital purchase. Disney+ continues to release more original series, including Disney Insider that started March 20th.  Disney Insider is a documentary series with behind-the-scenes looks on projects in Disney entertainment, in the parks, and more. Connie shares how her family is bonding over the Star Wars franchise entertainment as well. Imagineering in a Box shares 35 free educational videos, lessons by Disney Imagineers on creating the worlds, or parks, and lands within each park; designing attractions, and bringing characters to life.  The Disney Parks Blog is sharing YouTube videos of how-to tutorials called Learn to Draw, on drawing Mickey Mouse through the years. Also, if you search YouTube, there are several similar videos by Disney Parks from 2014 of learning to draw different characters.  Disney Animals on Disney NOW is a Disney Parks video series on the animals at Animal Kingdom. The series offers fun facts on different animals like the meerkat, and behind-the-scenes looks at caring for the animals in Animal Kingdom, like the hippo.  The Play Disney app can now be used at home! This is a free app that has been out for awhile now for both Walt Disney World and Disneyland. When you are in the parks, you earn achievements by riding attractions. There are over 40 achievements to earn in Star Wars Land alone. Usually, you have to be in the parks to play games on the app. They are meant to entertain people while waiting in line for attractions. But now, several of the games are available to play at home! Some are single player, and some require multiple players. I enjoyed the Splash Mountain game, which has 15 mini-games in it. The Art of Animation Resort even has a game! Check it out. Are you missing the Disney parks? Visit the theme parks virtually, using Google Maps Street View. Take a walk through Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Animal Kingdom’s Pandora, Disney Hollywood Studios (pre-Star Wars Land), and also Universal Studios Florida. I took a virtual walk through the Magic Kingdom. As soon as I saw the Hub and Cinderella’s Castle, I felt my body relax. I played around with going to Adventureland, and it was such a good feeling to see my familiar happy place. Get active with Disney Zumba videos! InsidetheMagic.net has shared 10 Disney Zumba videos to work up a magical sweat. One video is of a young woman stretching and dancing on a beach to “How Far I’ll Go” from Moana as the surf comes in around her feet. I loved it! I can’t wait to do the Zumba video to “Try Everything”, Shakira’s wonderful dance song from Zootopia. And More!   There are so many helpful resources to reduce stress and anxiety beyond Disney. Here are some of my favorites that I’ve found incredibly helpful.  Through Emaya, Connie and Michaela are offering free weekly yoga and meditation to anyone. They are also offering 70% off their Back to HER program, a 40-day program of daily meditation and yoga, along with weekly coaching and transformational work sessions to get in touch with who we are and what we want. They are also launching Do Less & Be More, a 7-day empowerment program for women that is very affordable. This program gives you tools to do less and be more, be your brightest.   Gabrielle Bernstein, best-selling author and spirituality teacher, offered on March 29th a free online anxiety relief workshop, and replays are available for free on her website. In the workshop, Gabby shared 7 different tactics to help relieve anxiety. I found it incredibly helpful. Gabby also has several free guided meditations on YouTube. The Insight Timer app is a wonderful resource for all different types of guided meditations and talks by spiritual teachers and authors, or to use as a timer with background sounds offered while you sit in meditation. Recently, I discovered Elizabeth Gilbert’s talk about facing fear with compassion, related to this coronavirus crisis. It was very helpful to me. Elizabeth Gilbert is the author of “Eat Pray Love” and several other books. Brene Brown, one of my favorite authors and speakers on vulnerability and shame, just launched a podcast, and I am so glad! The podcast is called Unlocking Us. The last episode from March 27th was so relevant to how I’m feeling right now, that we are past the initial burst of adrenaline when we went into survival mode, and we are seeing this is not going to end quickly, and we are feeling major fatigue. I can’t speak highly enough of this podcast and Brene Brown. I lived in New York City for 15 years before I moved to Tampa nearly 2 years ago. I love the performing arts, and the performing arts in New York have a special place in my heart. The Metropolitan Opera is offering free encore performances, streaming nightly starting at 7:30 PM EST.  Broadway stars are posting many videos online of spur-of-the-moment performances. Broadway World kicked off a Living Room Concert series and it’s just like it sounds - former and current Broadway stars singing in their living rooms.  My new favorite feel-good show is Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, on HGTV. Hosted by Modern Family’s Jesse Ferguson, this uplifting show shines the light brightly on giving to those who deserve it, the goodness in people, the importance of community, and how wonderful it is to help others. It’s the perfect show for this moment in time. Have a box of tissues close by, because I cried a lot watching the first 2 episodes!  Thank you for listening! I hope you found these resources helpful to you, as you and your loved ones continue navigating through these uncharted waters during this coronavirus crisis.  Do you have Disney travel questions? Celebrate with a new look and features Charting the next 15 years of Google Maps Street View’s 15 favorite street views Supporting the 2020 U.S. election Featured Content "Six years ago (or maybe longer–kids have killed my memory) Kevin Worthy came to Royse City as our Superintendent of Schools and a vision in tow. It was a simple, but mighty vision: be all about the kids and be innovative. It took a few years, and a strategic plan, but we progressed as a district on those two fronts. Part of that strategic plan was to move 1-1 with our students. We saw districts that tried and failed because of poor planning, poor training, poor infrastructure, or a combination thereof. It was decided to take a more measured approach. The first step was to get the right people in place. Three years ago RCISD hired Zach Snow as the Instructional Technology Coordinator and did the crazy thing of placing him not in the technology department, but the newly reorganized curriculum department head by Assistant Superintendent Julia Robinson. This is a seemingly small distinction, but if the focus was going to be on instruction and not on the technology, then department placement is key." Board Fabrication Tips and Myths

Amit Bahl, the Director of Sales and Marketing at Sierra Circuits, is here today to discuss a more holistic view of not only board fabrication, but also assembly as Sierra Circuits does both. He’s going to teach you ways to think more about your total cost of ownership. We also do some fun myth busting around PCB fabrication and assembly. To watch the video, click here. Show Highlights: Amit says his story is pretty simple: he’s here to service PCB Designers, whatever they want or need, Sierra Circuits makes it happen and have been doing so for 30 years in Sunnyvale, California. Amit spent his high school years setting up drill machines and packaging circuit boards and got his training very early on. His father started the business in 1986.  Their business is quick-turn and they do PCB fabrication, assembly, component procurement, all really quickly from a few buildings on Evelyn Avenue. Tips on looking at fab and assembly more holistically: The number one mistake is a failure to send boards in, in an array; customers tend to forget to send the array panelized drawings but Sierra takes care of that for their customers.  What data do you really need upfront? Two types of data, first for the quote and also for manufacturing. For quotes: Gerber or ODB data or IPC 2581 data. Then there’s everything else for fab that has to be perfect: material, surface finish, any special requirements, PCB stackup; all detailed out in a fab drawing including impedance and dielectric control. It’s imperative to communicate with the fabricator and visit your board shop. It helps designers understand what happens on the floor, to see where variations can come in on different machinery and to design keeping in mind that each process is in a different department. Some myths surrounding fab and assembly. Websites are not always updated regularly, you cannot design based merely according to what’s on the website. Pick up the phone!  PCB materials only hold up for a maximum of three to four laminations because of thermal stress.  Don’t trust the data sheets, even for electrical properties - every material behaves differently. Isola 370HR is very reliable and consistent. Price and value are not equal - look at the total cost of ownership. Do you hire supply chain first and put pricing pressure on vendors, or are you hiring a quality department first and putting quality pressures on the vendors? Focus on quality and attention to detail is essential. Trust begins with relationships and with trust, specific aspects can be left to the fab house. Sierra will be at AltiumLive 2019, October 9 - 11 in San Diego, where face to face relationships can begin. Sierra is launching a Google Maps Street View for their facility, where designers can ‘walk through’ the shop virtually. This should be ready within the next three weeks. Trends: HDI, laser drilling, flex & rigid flex.   Links and Resources: Sierra Circuits Website Amit LinkedIn What is Design? Susan is Marc’s co-author for the Repurpose Your Career books. Susan Lahey is a freelance writer who is driven to taking on new challenges, whether they’re writing about the nature of meaning, the scary adventure of changing your career, or truly death-defying acts like jumping out of airplanes and parenting. Marc was her first real Austin client.   Listen in for an update, where Susan discusses her upcoming move to Portugal.   Key Takeaways: [1:09] Marc welcomes you to Episode 122 of the Repurpose Your Career podcast. Career Pivot brings you this podcast. CareerPivot.com is one of the very few websites dedicated to those of us in the second half of life and our careers. Take a moment to check out the blog and the other resources delivered to you, free of charge. [1:40] If you are enjoying this podcast, please share it with other like-minded souls. Subscribe on CareerPivot.com, iTunes, or any of the other apps that supply podcasts. Share it on social media or just tell your neighbors, and colleagues.[1:58] Regular listeners probably have noticed Marc has stopped talking about the next edition of the Repurpose Your Career book. Between last week’s episode about the Miller’s trip back to Austin and starting the resident visa process and this week’s episode, it is evident that the Millers have gotten busy but are getting back on track. [2:23] Marc’s current plan is to release the third edition of the book in September of this year (2019). He will continue to release preview chapters starting in a couple of weeks. [2:35] Next week, Marc will read one of the pre-release chapters of the next edition. Stay tuned! [2:42] This week, Marc will share an Encore Episode of Episode 54, where he interviewed Susan Lahey, who is the co-author on the Repurpose Your Career books. Marc shares Susan’s bio. [3:33] Marc is excited to present this episode. Susan is a freelance writer and a lot of the listeners want to become freelance writers.[3:55] Susan is always tempted to stay home with her adult children and watch Netflix, paint, and hide out from everyone. So she makes herself go do stuff, instead. She just got a tattoo that says “Life is Short” to remind herself to push past whatever fears and barriers she has. [5:12] Susan was a newspaper reporter for the beginning of her career, at the Kansas City Star, from age 17 through college and as her first job out of school. After several years she got a job as an associate editor of a business lifestyle magazine in KC. She left there to raise a family, freelancing from home. [5:57] At age 42, Susan was divorced. She took the children and moved to an off-the-grid house in New Mexico, taking what work she could get. The Taos News wanted her as a freelancer but didn’t move on it. [6:58] She started working as a community liaison for an EPA technical assistance group for a Superfund project. That was tough since she did not speak Spanish and was new to the community. She also did substitute teaching. She was broke. [7:29] Susan and her children volunteered at a food pantry for the food. Finally, she got on as a freelancer with the Taos News, for maybe $100 an article. [8:19] Taos was challenging in being far behind the times. Susan was out of touch with the times as a freelancer. She wanted to give her children a better opportunity. [9:41] After a trip to Europe they were motivated to change their lives. Austin had “a similar vibe” to Taos, a University, and a lot of intellectual capital. Susan rented an apartment and drove the family to Austin to start over. She sold the house in Taos for “five dollars.” [11:02] At first in Austin, she wrote eHow articles but that was unsatisfying for her. Susan met Marc and attended networking events. She met Jenny Magic. Susan learned how to market herself online with blogs and web content and how to network. Susan used EMDR psychotherapy to help her overcome the fear and stress of networking. [15:38] Creatives are typically introverted so selling themselves as “a creative” is really hard for them. Confidence is essential for approaching clients. [17:31] Marc was Susan’s first major client. Then she got some blogs. Through a contact recommended by Marc, she started writing articles for a tech news startup, Silicon Hills News, and finally got paid reasonably. Susan has covered SXSW for the last six years and she went to Thailand and Norway to see their technologies. [19:41] Susan got an article in Wired and is hoping to write more for them. She had also written a profile for bootstrap guru Bijoy Goswami, who works people through the psychological risks and fears of starting your own business. [20:14] Bijoy introduced Susan to his best friend, Danny Gutknecht, and Susan worked with him on one book and other writings. They will write more. Most of her work is with Danny. When Susan has 'bandwidth,' she looks for freelance work online (at GlassDoor and MediaBistro) and she networks. [21:20] Susan mentors and one woman she mentored hooked her up with a gig of writing for Zendesk. She still does journalism. [21:45] Susan was an old-school journalism person. Her idea of journalism came from All the President’s Men. Her sister was a journalist. She never imagined journalism wouldn’t be there for her. Most of her friends who were journalists are out of jobs. Journalism is dying. Journalism can’t find a business model that works today. [22:41] Susan never imagined she would be a tech writer or a business writer, and she is so glad she pursued both of those because that’s the direction the world is going. She never thought she would get to travel the world for tech writing. [23:31] When Susan was asked to find her ‘why’ she had never thought about it. She realized that she loved writing about people who were doing scary, brave things. She uses Marc as an example. When he started his business, it was scary new for him, but also, scary new for the job pivoters he is helping. Her children encouraged her career. [24:46] For the most part, Susan’s career pivot has turned out amazingly. She’s definitely not rich, but she’s supporting herself, doing what she loves. It fuels her as well as paying her. Ninety-nine percent of what Susan writes fits that category. [25:11] Marc is proud of Susan. In spite of her hard times, she has survived. Her three great children have gone to college on full scholarships, and are doing well. Her oldest is teaching English in Tangier, as Susan continues to enjoy her career. [25:54] People tell Susan she’s brave but they have no idea how hard she has to work to be brave. She’s sometimes afraid but she just makes herself do things. She recommends people examine why they act a certain way or go in a certain direction. They need to examine their self-limiting ideas. People need to steer their own ship. [27:24] Susan hopes to move to Morocco in the next year or so. Marc mentions his plans to move to Ajijic, Mexico. Marc thanks Susan for telling her story. [29:04] Marc welcomes Susan back after the interview for an update on her career since this episode was recorded. [29:16] Susan is now planning to move to Portugal. She just got back from there. She was planning to move to Morocco, originally, but her son cautioned her that as long as she doesn’t understand Arabic, she would not be safe in the street culture. [29:45] She started looking at other options, such as Portugal, that have a visa for self-employed people who make a moderate living. The Netherlands has a similar visa. Susan settled on Portugal because the Netherlands is cold and expensive and Portugal is warm and cheap. [30:10] Everyone Susan mentioned it to told her Portugal is so beautiful she wouldn’t believe it. She wanted to apply for the visa before visiting but she needed an actual lease on an apartment and a tax number before that was possible. Rather than hire someone to do that, she went herself, to set things up. That was a really good idea. [30:57] When Susan’s youngest graduated from college she felt free to do what she has always wanted to do — move to Europe. Until she moves, she and her son have moved in with her daughter. They all get along really well. [31:56] Susan’s youngest son will go to Portugal with her on a visit, to check it out. He might also move to Portugal. Susan’s daughter just went with her on her recent trip, and she loves it! [32:28] Because Susan is single the prospect of being an empty-nester was terrifying to her. For the last twenty-something years her purpose had been to raise her three children. Now she has to find out what is important for her. She doesn't want to fill time taking spin classes or doing Soduko. She has always wanted to travel. [33:27] She decided she needed to find a place where she could live and see the world more inexpensively. It’s hard and expensive to get around the world from the U.S. [33:54] Susan has talked to several of her clients and told them her plans. Since she works remotely with most people, anyway, no one was concerned. Susan has never met some of her clients in person. While she might work with some Portuguese companies, it is simpler to just keep working with her U.S. clients. [34:37] Susan has “sort of” figured out the technology she needs. She got an apartment, and a SIM card, so she now has a Portuguese phone number. She almost made an illegal and costly mistake with an apartment contract. [35:15] She ended up hiring an advisor or consultant who took her to the local tax office for a tax number, to the bank for a bank account, and recommended a fantastic real estate agent, who hustles. The agent took Susan to several different apartments. [36:38] Susan was considering two apartments. Both the owners backed out because Susan was not from Portugal and didn’t have a co-signer. Her agent found her another apartment but Susan is waiting for the contract. Every contract is drawn up by a lawyer; they don’t have boilerplate contracts for apartments. Each contract is bilingual. [37:37] On Facebook, Susan was looking at a group for the area. Fabiola, Susan’s real estate agent, who will live in the same neighborhood, had put a post on the group talking about what internet provider she would use. Susan believes she will go with the same provider. [37:53] If nothing else, Susan will go to a café for the internet. [38:00] Marc is very proud of Susan for having made this leap. Marc comments that in Mexico, ‘mañana’ does not mean tomorrow; it means not today. [38:14] Susan thanks Marc for all the help getting ready to go. She finds Portugal to be very chill and relaxed. Someone there told her she should move there. Susan felt she could really do this. She loves Portugal. It’s stunningly beautiful, the food is very good, and everything is affordable. People are insanely nice. It’s going to be great! [39:18] Marc thanks Susan for giving us an update on her experiences. Susan appreciates how supportive Marc has been while she has been preparing to go. Marc says he talked Susan off the ledge before she went. [39:42] Marc hopes you enjoyed this episode. Susan has done a lot of research on her move. Marc was afraid she would move to Portugal without ever visiting there. [39:55] In Episode 119, Marc interviewed Queen Michele, who moved to the North Shore of Lake Chapala without having ever visited. Queen did a ton of research and even walked around the town using Google Maps’ Street View feature. [40:13] Marc “talked Susan off the ledge” before she went, and she’s doing quite well. Google News and Updates Set start times and import reminders in Tasks Dynamic email in Gmail (beta) Threading changes in Gmail conversation view Take action faster with customizable swipe actions in Gmail on iOS Featured Content 20 sites for students with free time on their hands GeoGuessr — GeoGuessr uses Google Maps Street View to place you on the ground somewhere in the world in full panorama. The problem? You have NO idea where you are! You must use context clues to guess your location and pin it on a map. Choose to be dropped in certain continents, countries, cities, etc. … or make your own GeoGuessr game with GeoSettr! Smarty Pins — Smarty Pins is kind of like GeoGuessr’s cousin. It asks questions from categories like arts and culture, science and geography, and history and current events. The answers are locations, and you must pin them on a map to answer. It makes geography a game, and the closer you guess, the better your score is. A Google a Day — Most of us search the internet daily, if not multiple times per day. But effectively searching for something is a skill. A Google a Day challenges users to put their searching skills to the test by asking them to answer a question using Google search. With Google’s search education lesson plans you can take this game even further and begin teaching search literacy in your classroom. Street View Treks — Google Maps Street View lets its users see what life is like from the road, in full panorama. Street View Treks take that same technology to some of the most spectacular locations in the world, from Mount Fuji to the Grand Canyon to the Taj Mahal in India. Swim underwater at the Great Barrier Reef or climb the El Capitan rock face at Yosemite National Park. Google Arts and Culture — Discover exhibits and collections from museums and archives all around the world. Explore cultural treasures in extraordinary detail, from hidden gems to masterpieces. See super high-resolution images of some of the best works of art in the world. Walk world-famous museums. Examine historical happenings in detail. Google Quick Draw! — Quick, Draw! tells you what to draw. Then, Google’s artificial intelligence tries to guess what you’re drawing. It’s a neat way to introduce students to artificial intelligence OR to look at how we convert words/ideas into images. Emoji Scavenger Hunt - Emoji Scavenger Hunt is a super fun game from Google Experiments. Using the camera on your device, students identify emojis in the real world. The application uses artificial intelligence to try and determine what’s in the picture and see if it matches the emoji. Autodraw - AI experiment that allows you to draw and tries to predict what you are drawing so you can then select a more professional image to add to your project. Story Speaker - Combine the power of Google Docs with AI! Make interactive, talking stories without coding and play your story instantly on Google Home. What I love about this tool is that it will give you a “Choose Your Own Adventure,” story template in Google Docs, so that alone is worth exploring! Help students improve writing and get creative. Even if you don’t have a Google Home or cannot use it in your classroom, the Story Speaker tool and template are worth exploring! Talk to Books - When you type in a question or a statement, the model looks at every sentence in over 100,000 books to find the responses that would most likely come next in a conversation. This is a really interesting way to help kids connect and learn with literature, discover new authors and books, and strike up some interesting conversations! Made with Code - Made with Code is a program designed to help close the gender gap in the programming industry, and give girls and young women fun ways to learn how to code the things they love. I'm looking to transition to Detroit to start a new business and it's difficult to determine the quality and density of the neighborhoods on Google Maps Street View because they haven't been updated since 2013 and sometimes even longer. I'd like to know why that is. Why haven't the maps been updated?

Now people that can't make it to the site itself can explore it online! Bitcoin has been hitting highs of more than $3,000 per Bitcoin — it’s now at $3,800. If you compare this to January, one Bitcoin was around $1200 — nearly doubling its value in six months. But if you take it back it to 2010, one bitcoin was less than 10 cents each. So if you held on to bitcoin worth the price of a pick-up pizza — you would have $300,000 today... great news for bitcoin investors in 2010... bit of a bummer for everyone else...
