"How We VIEW People. We Need To Treat People With Respect And Be Curious About Them And Their Lives." In this episode, we have Gary Moody @garyjmoody with us! Gary is an anthropology Ph.D. candidate researching Western spirit mediums, healers, Spirit Art, and sound healing. He is learning how to sense and talk to spirits for wellbeing. As he is training under spirit mediums and healers, A LOT of the focus is on identifying his own trauma, self-limiting beliefs, and working through that - but also discovering his True Self and passions. Gary stresses the importance of respecting and exploring peoples' belief in spirits as it is fundamental to their wellbeing. In addition, he encourages both spiritual and science-minded people to be more respectful of other's views – and be open to the idea that we don't know the true nature of our existence. Gary seeks to work across different belief systems and focus on how we can use alternative sensory practices in mainstream health. So here's the part of self-love that people don't always want to talk about. But mental health is SO important. Because when you don't love yourself, your mental health can completely go to shit. When you live in a bigger body you're basically taught to change yourself or even hate yourself. And when you've got poor mental health, it's easy to tell yourself you've failed. We get it. We both have shitty mental health sometimes, and we're ready to talk about it. So we hope this episode brings you a bit of comfort and makes you realise you're not alone. We love you so much and we promise it gets better. TW: This episode contains references to suicide and suicidal thoughts. If you think this episode might be triggering for you, please skip it. Its like a late night happy hour with a new friend you just click with and its so special to really connect on such a deep level so fast which is a testament to the incredible energy Fiorella has. Since we met almost 2 months ago she has become such a great friend and light in my DMs and life and I am honored to share her and this conversation with you! Episode 22:15 Giving Birth Just Three Minutes After Entering The Hospital… And Other Amazing Health Stories On this special episode of the podcast Dr. George Burroughs talks about the amazing birthing experience his daughter Brooklynn recently had and how Chiropractic care may have played a vital role. He then goes on to share some of the most fascinating cases he has dealt with over his thirty-two years in practice including: - Correcting BetyLou's granddaughter's “cross-eye.” - A “miracle” adjustment that not only led to a touchdown in a college football game, it impressed a team of medical physicians. - The resolution of a 12 year-old girl's headaches that had neurologists baffled… and her mother in disbelief. - A patient whose PERFECT spinal alignment did NOT come from an adjustment. The Balut Kiki Project: Uniquely Pinoy. Unapologetically Queer.
Warning: This project contains mature and sensitive themes such as depression and suicide. Listener discretion is advised.Handog namin sa inyo ang pang-buena mano sa aming Pinoy Mental Health Stories. Ito ay bilang pagkilala sa need nating mga Filipinos to normalize conversations about mental health. In this series, listen to regular Pinoys share their battles, heartaches, or triumphs along their mental health journeys. Layunin natin to empower Filipinos struggling with mental health issues to speak up in an effort to de-stigmatize this traditionally taboo topic. Hopefully this series will encourage Pinoys to ask for help when they need it. While away from her parents, nakaranas si Lei ng physical, emotional, at mental abuse. High school na when she finally joined her family in the US. By then, her emotional and mental health wounds already ran deep. Adjusting to a new culture and high school life in the States did not help much, neither did somebody very close to her who was a clinical psychologist. It got so bad that Lei entertained thoughts of self-harm and was even admitted to a facility to recover. Today, Lei is Founder and President of a non-profit foundation TraumaSpeaks based in Los Angeles, CA with a purpose of raising awareness about mental health.
