SBC President J. D. Greear has been taking a lot of heat on Twitter lately, and maybe you’ve seen some of the fracas. Maybe you have thoughts on the fracas, or maybe you’re looking for some insight into how to best understand both what Pastor Greear said, and what Jesus actually said. That’s what I want to lay out for you, quickly, in this article and episode. I’ll talk about what Greear said, and why I’m addressing this (no, I’m not going to turn into a polemicist). Specifically, I will discuss: Why so many Christians (including myself) have a problem with JD Greear’s tweet. How this tweet fits in to a troubling trend and downgrade, including Greear’s recent comments on the Bible “whispering about sexual sin.” Three inaccuracies in Greear’s tweet. What Jesus actually said—and whether He did or did not say we should take up his teachings and His moral code (spoiler alert: Jesus did say we need to do that. Why I understand what J. D. Greear is trying to do, but why he needs to be careful. How J. D. Greear clarified his position in two subsequent tweets, and why this was actually very good. Two major takeaways from this fiasco for Christians. SUBSCRIBE to get equipped to explain, share and defend the Christian message! http://youtube.com/c/thinkinstitute. The Three Story Method Influencer Series: AristotleIn the first of this special 5-part series, Zach and J. examine Poetics by Aristotle and how those ideas have influenced modern storytelling. In addition, Zach asks J. how he incorporated Aristotle's ideas in Three Story Method and the ways they apply to novelists. From Wikipedia:Aristotle's Poetics (Greek: Περὶ ποιητικῆς; Latin: De Poetica;[1] c. 335 BC[2]) is the earliest surviving work of dramatic theory and first extant philosophical treatise to focus on literary theory.[3] In it, Aristotle offers an account of what he calls "poetry" (a term that derives from a classical Greek term, ποιητής, that means "poet; author; maker" and in this context includes verse drama – comedy, tragedy, and the satyr play – as well as lyric poetry and epic poetry). They are similar in the fact that they are all imitations but different in the three ways that Aristotle describes:Differences in music rhythm, harmony, meter and melody.Difference of goodness in the characters.Difference in how the narrative is presented: telling a story or acting it out.In examining its "first principles", Aristotle finds two: 1) imitation and 2) genres and other concepts by which that of truth is applied/revealed in the poesis. His analysis of tragedy constitutes the core of the discussion.[4] Although Aristotle's Poetics is universally acknowledged in the Western critical tradition, "almost every detail about his seminal work has aroused divergent opinions".[5] The work was lost to the Western world for a long time. It was available in the Middle Ages and early Renaissance only through a Latin translation of an Arabic version written by Averroes.[6]The Career Author Podcast is a podcast where co-authors J. Starting from nothing, J. has built a multi-million dollar real estate business. He now trains students from around the world on the methods he uses to generate cash flow and raise millions in private capital. His primary focus is now on creating his own hospitality businesses using only short-term rentals, and he currently controls 21 units that earn nearly a million dollars a year in income. J. is able to run his business on just three and a half hours a day because of his advanced systems and automation. In 2016, he made his system available to his students and they are having success faster than with any method he's ever taught. Creating Cashflow Diary in 2011, J. follows one simple rule: to only train and produce material around the strategies he's currently employing; his courses are some of the most highly reviewed in the industry. What you'll learn about in this episode: Why J. got started in real estate investing due to devastating medical setbacks that happened to both J. and his wife simultaneously Why J. found real estate to be his only solution after he sold everything he could on eBay, and how learning “the hustle” carried over to real estate How J.'s short-term rental business works, and why it is more efficient and potentially lucrative than traditional single-family Why Airbnb isn't the only marketplace J. uses, and how he teaches others to get into the short term rental market Why it is important to manage your expectations, and why a background in sales will speed up the process a bit How J. has survived having over $800k being embezzled, $400k being stolen, having tenants die in their properties, etc. What daily activities and habits J. has developed to find success and be his best every day Which influential mentors and coaches have most affected J.'s business strategies and outlook on life How to contact J. Today’s episode features Jérome Simian, French physical preparation coach. Jérome is a coach who not only has been trained by some of the best minds in the world (Jay Schroeder and Charles Poliquin) but also works with some of the greatest athletes in the world, notably Kevin Mayer, the new decathlon world record holder who broke Ashton Eaton’s old mark with an incredible score of 9126. After Kevin Mayer broke the record,Jérome wrote a fantastic article on Strength Sensei about some of the training that allowed Kevin Mayer to overcome back and foot issues, as well as a weak start in his races to progress to a point where he is now the world record holder. One of the big issues with physical preparation is that the higher the level the athlete is, the less weightroom and barbell lifts will transfer to that athlete’s on-field performance. All too often forgotten is that it is not what you do but how you do it. Jérome is truly a master of the how. This episode is a must-listen for any track and field or strength coach, as what Jérome did with Kevin Mayer is truly phenomenal. On today’s episode, Jérome will cover his approach with Kevin Mayer, how he fixed some of Kevin’s imbalances, his approach to maximal strength training (and then eventually a lack thereof) with Kevin in his lead up to setting the world record. There are also many tips to the nuances of exercise performance within this episode. Today’s episode is brought to you by SimpliFaster, supplier of high-end athletic development tools, such as the Freelap timing system, kBox, Sprint 1080, and more. Key Points Jérome’s training of Kevin Mayer, world record holder in the decathlon How Jérome approaches basic barbell strength training for athletes in terms of posture, position and muscle firing Kevin Mayer’s initial performance needs when he came to Jérome Why Jérome decided to stop doing any significant barbell lifting in Kevin’s training for a period of many months Why exact exercise selection is not nearly as important as how you do what you are doing in the weightroom or track “Strength training and resiliency are not separate qualities” “Kevin’s muscles were fighting each other in lifting… it was more a coordination problem” “There is constant control around the joint at all times; there is no time where the muscle is completely relaxed” “You want to pull (down) with your hip flexors when you squat” “For the RDL I’ll pinch the skin on the lumbar spine… and that teaches them how to get into the proper position… I don’t like telling them pull with this, think about a muscle, etc.” “Extreme ISO’s are supposed to be movement” “(When he came to me) Kevin was more a kangaroo than a racehorse” “We never get very far from ATG squats because that keeps his hips loose” “(Regarding a period of time in Kevin Mayer’s training) No (heavy) squatting no deadlifting at all from October to March” “It’s the concept of metaphors; if you are producing 300lbs one way, but resisting 75lb the other way, you are better off producing 200lb one way and zero the other way (in terms of building efficient movement)” “If you want to lift and be good for sport you have to have a healthy disregard for the amount of weight on the bar” “Do you want to be strong, or do you want to lift heavy weights, they are not necessarily the same” About Jérome Simian Jérome Simian started his coaching career in 1998. Since then, he has coached athletes to compete in seven Olympic games, to World and European medals, as well to national records and dozens of national championships. His experience ranges from track and field to professional rugby, to figure skating, to mention only a few. In a country where good athletes are helped for free and coached by the federal system, his private practice was built on helping those who did not fit the standard performance requi...

Deborah Vidal welcomes J, the hydrogen man, to this episode of the Vidal Speaks Podcast. Deborah has started to consume hydrogen water and wants to dive deep into the subject with an expert to display the truth about HO, the impact it has on our health and which are the best sources to get it. J, also known as the hydrogen man, has made his life mission to help others heal. Like many other people who have become experts or healers, they started as a sick person. He was stricken by a pain syndrome that lasted almost 15 years. Before this period of pain, he believed he was invincible like we all do when we are young; he thought that if he worked out and exercised, he would be healthy forever; he focused on exercises but not on other aspects of his health. Then his years of pain began, which lead him into despair, as it happens with any pain syndrome. Like most people with chronic pain, he went from suicidal wishes to an endless research for healing. He tried everything, every diet, every supplement and every healing modality until he had his health back. The thing that worked for him was a clean, organic, vegan diet, detoxing and finding the research of the hydrogen water lead him to his ultimate cure. He read every possible research and scientific article on hydrogen water. He tested every machine in the market and after all these, he discovered the best and most proficient way to heal and that is by drinking a very specific water made only by one machine, and he will explain why this one is so different from other ways of making hydrogen water. After experiencing his own healing and then his family members too, J became convinced all he read about hydrogen water was true because he witnessed it. His story is an amazing one and he has many other amazing stories about how other people healed too. He put all these information for free on his Youtube channel. Be inspired by J's story and be encouraged to also try safely this amazing way of healing through H2 water! Outline of This Great Episode [9:05] J, the hydrogen man, on Youtube. Millennials are often mischaracterized as being lazy and wanting things handed to them. I can’t tell you how far from the truth that is, especially when it comes to Gwen & J from the FIRE Drill Podcast who came on the podcast today to talk about pursuing FI and the different aspects of paying off debt and being financially stable. Both bloggers have their own informative and successful blogs that share their specific paths to FI and are set on inspiring others to do the same. I’m also super impressed by what they’ve been able to accomplish so far at such young ages. Gwen has saved $100k by age 25 and purchased her first rental property, a triplex, earlier this year. J has paid off nearly $100k of debt in two years and has saved over $200k towards retirement by age 28. On the episode today, we explore the importance of savings and increasing your income. J explains how essential it is to have an emergency fund after what happened to her while she was paying off debt, and Gwen talks about why she has FU money. It was also interesting to hear their takes on real estate and how to get started with house hacking. This is a great episode on the importance of working towards FI and achieving financial goals. I also announce the Budget Boot Camp Class & open the waitlist for the Q1 2018 Journey To Financial Freedom Mastermind. You've likely seen a J.P. Sears video on Facebook or Youtube - he's the guy with the long red hair who does the tongue-in-cheek comedy videos about spirituality, politics, relationships, and so much more. J.P. has become somewhat of a Youtube sensation these days and is on the show with Ari and Nick to tell the story of how he went from emotional healer to emotional healing Youtube sensation. You'll find his insight about how to be your authentic self and be productive at the same time quite helpful, and you'll have a few laughs along the way. Join Ari and Nick on this episode as they chat (and laugh) with J.P. Sears. ## How things exploded for J.P. (in a good way) when he quit believing lies. On this episode of Leverage, J.P. Sears tells the story of how he was not gaining much traction in his emotional healing practice because he was telling himself lies What were the lies? That he'd ruin his credibility if he allowed his natural sense of humor to come out. But when he decided that was a part of himself he could no longer keep hidden, he decided to let it out by recording his first comedy video. He not only found a new avenue of personal fulfillment but also discovered that others were drawn to his sense of humor. That's when his career began to skyrocket. You can hear the rest of his story in detail, on this episode of Leverage. ## What does it mean to bet on your authentic self? You hear the term “authentic self” a lot these days. J.P. Sears says that everyone needs to learn how to be who they really are, not who they think people expect them to be or want them to be. That's the only way you can truly know who you are and what you bring to the world that is unique and beneficial. His advice for anyone who wants to be more effective: Always bet on your authentic self. Find out what he means by that, on this episode. ## Avoiding the people-pleasing trap is essential for anyone who wants to make a difference. One of the things that held J.P. Sears back from excelling in his career as an emotional healing coach was that he was trying to please others. He wanted to be respected in his field so he was careful to do the things he believed others in the field would expect of him. But he found that important aspects of who he was were being stifled, and in time he couldn't continue with the dissonance that was going on in his own soul. Once he let out the parts of him he was keeping tucked away, his career began to take off. J.P.'s story is an example of how being true to your authentic self is the best thing you can do to be effective. ## How J.P. uses outsourcing to highlight his unique abilities. It's obvious from watching any of J.P. Sears' videos that he's a witty, creative person. In order to be most effective in his creativity, he's had to outsource some of the tasks that need to happen for the sake of his business success so he doesn't become bogged down in them. That allows him to continue to use his creative gifts effectively. On this episode J.P. describes a bit of the process he's gone through to outsource for the sake of effectiveness, so be sure you listen. ## Outline of This Episode - [0:03] Why J.P. is glad they guys are irresponsible enough to ask him on the show. - [1:45] J.P.'s specific background as an emotional healing coach and how he got started. - [5:13] How J.P. transitioned from wholistic healer to Youtube sensation. - [11:09] How comedy videos have helped J.P. accomplish his goals. - [14:37] The places and people J.P. derives inspiration from. - [19:11] J.P.'s morning routine. - [23:42] What J.P. hopes readers get from his new book. - [26:52] Ari's idea for a business retreat: J.P.'s response. - [33:42] A Facebook question: Are Vegans better people? Yes, but they are hypocritical. - [34:20] What is J.P.'s unique ability and how does he use outsourcing to protect it? - [37:52] What's next for J.P.? - [40:04] J.P.'s top three pieces of advice to be more effective. ## Resour --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/lessdoing/message
