My guest for this episode is Sean Kennedy. Sean is the Director of Instruction at the Cliffs Community in the Carolina mountains, one of the most picturesque areas in the US and he works with all levels of players from club golfers to elite players. During this podcast we get to chat about many things in golf and we look to help the club golfer with narrowing the gap between doing and knowing. We get to discuss some of Seans favourite drills and tasks for players as well as his passion for on course and playing sessions. In the coaching segment, we delve into Sean's inspirations, address queries from the Podcast community, and explore whether his instruction focuses on technical adjustments or skill enhancement. We also touch upon topics such as short game strategies and challenging moments. Finally, we talk about Sean's collaboration with other like minded coaches in organizing an annual two-day seminar offering advanced education for any golf teacher wanting to enhance their knowledge. For some of you, this may be your first introduction to Sean. I like to delve into the coaching world when I have the opportunity, meeting new people during my travels to learn from them in various ways. Sometimes, I feel compelled when getting to know individuals who may not be as well-known to highlight their work and skill. While you may not hold Sean's words in as high regard as those of Butch Harmon or Mark Blackburn, underestimating them would be a missed opportunity. Sean is one of the most genuine, intelligent, respectful, and exceptional coaches I've ever encountered. He looks at the human and the golf swing as an ever-interacting system and one which must be treated as such…it would be easy to look at the golf swing as simply numbers on a screen but Sean has uncanny knack for looking past those and bringing out the skills in the person as opposed to bringing the skills to the person… Ladies and Gentleman Support the Show.

For this episode of The Secrets to Winning, I sat down with a good friend and 2020 PGA Teacher & Coach of the Year Mark Blackburn to talk about how coaches can manage personalities and egos with different players. Many times, the best coaches aren't the ones who are the most knowledgeable from an Xs and Os or technical standpoint. The coaches who get the best results are the ones who are emotionally intelligent and flexible and understand the true nature of each player. That allows for trust to be built and a greater relationship with the player.
On this week's episode of GOLF's Subpar, PGA Tour instructor Mark Blackburn joins former PGA Tour pro Colt Knost and his close friend and on course rival Drew Stoltz for an exclusive, in-studio interview. Two questions we need to talk about when we look at the golf swing. #1 - When do you make a swing change and #2 - How do we do it. PGA tour coach Mark Blackburn talks about his process and how it played out while working with Kevin Chappell.
Tony talks with Mark Blackburn about his journey to becoming a golf coach who works with a lot of tour players. It's a fascinating story of what it looks like to actually teach golf on the PGA Tour.

Bringing sexy back! What is more important? Delivering a sexy exercise or an effective exercise. In the strength and conditioning and fitness industry we see too many trainers trying to impress their clients with fresh new exercises and new equipment for the sake of keeping their workouts fresh. What if what they need is just good old fashion functional training? What if the sexy exercise causes injury or creates more dysfunction. The key is communication and getting your client to buy into the need for function first and sexy second. Can you add intensity to basic functional workouts? Hell yeah you can! Add intensity to your functional movements and regress to the 4x4 correctives for the dysfunctional patterns. We are tired of hearing people say “my trainer is the best, he has me flipping tires, using sledge hammers, and stand on one leg while spinning a plate with my contralateral hand with my eyes closed.” How about “my trainer is the best because he fixed me, made me feel better, move better and play better!” Listen to our newest episode to hear the rest of the story! Coming live from Beijing China! As promised, the Glass & Gill Show delivers Edumatainment each and every time we travel together. We are currently in the middle of our World Tour. 3 Continents 4 Countries in 1 month. Teaching TPI Level 1 with Mark Blackburn and Fitness Level 2 together sharing the message of function and strength training progressions. Enjoy and Cheers Everybody! #DreamBig #OverDeliver
