Send us a textVisionary entrepreneur Philippe Ziade takes us deep into the revolutionary world of AI-powered hospitality with his groundbreaking Otonomus hotel concept, set to open in Las Vegas on July 1st. This episode unveils how technology is fundamentally transforming guest experiences while creating unprecedented value for real estate developers.Philippe's journey from Lebanese immigrant studying engineering at UNLV to innovative developer illustrates the quintessential American success story. After starting with a marble company working on the Palms Casino, he navigated the 2008 financial crisis by pivoting to distressed properties, where operational challenges led him to develop technological solutions. Those early innovations eventually evolved into the sophisticated AI systems powering Otonomus. What makes Otonomus revolutionary? Picture a property where guests specify exactly what they want—from room configuration to service preferences—and AI puzzles it together in real time. Through what Philippe calls "digital avatars," the system learns each guest's preferences, creating increasingly personalized experiences with every interaction. Imagine walking into a hotel room that already knows your preferred temperature, lighting, and amenities before you even arrive.Despite the technological sophistication, Philippe emphasizes that Otonomus isn't about replacing humans but enhancing them. "We're in the augmented era," he explains, where digital systems extend our capabilities while preserving the irreplaceable human elements of hospitality. This philosophy extends to Otonomus dining offerings, including Nyla, an elevated Lebanese restaurant named after Philippe's mother.Beyond Otonomus, Philippe shares his ambitious vision for Las Vegas's evolution into a true global metropolis with branded residential towers, financial districts, and cultural centers. His perspective on Vegas as a blank canvas for innovation will inspire anyone passionate about urban development and the city's unlimited potential.Listen now to discover how the intersection of real estate, technology, and hospitality is creating the future of travel experiences. Whether you're a technology enthusiast, hospitality professional, or simply curious about how AI is reshaping our world, Philippe's insights will transform how you think about your next hotel stay.

2.26.2023 - Mrs. Jane Dargatz, my Fourth Grade Teacher from Carol Stream Elementary School in Illinois, traveled out to see Yachtley Crew play at PALMS Casino in Las Vegas! She was accompanied by her Husband, along with Rene Eastin (who I met and have known since meeting her in Mrs. Dargatz's class) and her Husband Jason. It was an additional momentous occasion because my Dad and his girlfriend Kris were in town, and so was my girlfriend Kili'kina. As Jane brought out old books she's kept since her first days as a teacher, we cartwheeled a trip down memory lane looking at the class photos from our field trips of yesteryears. Rene and I found our youngerselves in a few actually! Jane had been on a mission to meet up with several former schoolkids during her brief stay there in Nevada and I was one of them! Iam honoured to be included on that itinerary! I was VERY surprised to hear about the particular unexpected directions different classmates took along the years. She kept up with all of them, it seemed. She remembered soo many of their names, parents'/siblings' names, the kids they went on to have, where they lived and what their careers are. I was impressed! I felt like were were characters in an epic novel series she was reading. We never know how life will evolve and the ways in which we'll meet back up again decades down the road! Reconnecting with Rene and Jane at the same time really threw me for a very pleasant loop, nay...a Mobius Strip! Iam still caught in the Fever of it! Here's the story of my friend Stan... We've known each other since we were 16-17 years old. We played high school football together, hung out during our college years, and then our lives took their turns...as is wont to happen in every life. He went into the Air Force and ended up at Ramstein AF Base, in Ramstein-Miesenbach, Germany. He played football for the base team, until he turned his focus towards boxing. He became the heavyweight champion. When he returned to the USA he settled in Las Vegas, and worked as a bartender (in 2 different establishments), as well as a security guard. As you'll hear in this episode, a near death experience with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (yes...it was a racial profiling against him) led him to focus solely upon bartending... He became a part owner of a bar called Money Plays. Money Plays was a local neighborhood bar & video gambling establishment, situated just down the street from The Palms Casino...literally. Stan called it "...like Cheers on acid" - lol Within a couple of years, Stan became the sole owner of Money Plays. An experiment into the world of Live Music became a lifeline to the area's hip hop artists, and it bore a magical event... The Black Book Sessions. It was incredible, and it threatened his bar...because... well, you're just gonna have to listen to find out. IN THIS EPISODE: 6:02 Yeah, when I went vegan, man, 7:24 Yeah, Stan's tripping now. 9:47 You want me to kiss you on the mouth too? 10:47 You were always a voice for reason - Stan talking about Dar - lol 13:08 Ah, local bar called Money Plays 16:13 It's like "Cheers" on acid 20:25 A really interesting story that just has to be heard and it has to be told 21:22 We were... longest running "Open Mic" in Las Vegas, Nevada. 21:38 The Secret to Money Plays' Success 26:19 Stan, Dar and The Video Poker Story 30:08 The Secret to Winning in Vegas 33:06 The Black Book Sessions 33:52 Questlove & Black Thought of The Roots 38:08 We had The Apollo 'West'/Gong Show thing going on. 43:32 Enjoy the music and the art...find the commonality with your fellow man. 48:03 Saggy Pants and it's origin... Today we’re going to talk about one of the most underrated marketing strategies in the world, with one of my favorite friends and mentors, Cameron Herold. I’m going to jump on a limb here and guess that like me, you’re a big fan of Richard Branson. And one of the reasons that I love Richard so much, is that he’s an incredibly shy introvert, who’s mastered the art of getting billions of dollars in advertising for his ventures for free. He’s driven a tank through the streets of New York to get attention for the launch of Virgin Cola. He hired a blimp that said, “British Airways Can’t Get It Up” when they were having construction problems. He rappelled down the side of the Palms Casino in a tuxedo, and he crossed the English Channel in a floating car. If you are willing to use a little bit of creativity, and if you know how to strategically work with the media, you could find yourself getting the kind of press and traffic that would normally cost tens... Even hundreds of millions of dollars for free. Well, today Cameron Herold is going give you the blueprint you need to get free traffic using PR, starting right now, today. And there’s a massive side benefit to using this strategy as well… Once you get a story featured in these major publications, you can use them to acquire the elusive, and coveted verification badges on all of the major social media platforms. This is definitely an episode that you’re going to want to take some notes on, and file away in Evernote for future reference, because it’s absolutely priceless info. An arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association is accused of hearing a case that may have been a conflict-of-interest. As previously reported, a California resident lost an arbitration to Palms Place, LLC and was ordered by the arbitrator to pay nearly $90,000 in legal fees. The resident had made a deposit of $108,000 on a condominium that was to be built next to the Palms Casino in Las Vegas. The arbitration was executed through the American Arbitration Association which touts itself as providing “neutrals”; arbitrators with no conflicts or ethical concerns. As the California resident learned after-the-fact, his case was decided by an arbitrator whose neutrality is now being called into question. As of publication time, the American Arbitration Association had not responded to a request for comment. Thomas Ryan, a partner in the Lewis Roca Rothgerber law firm was the arbitrator on the case. At no time did he disclose his or his firm’s connections with Palms Place owner George Maloof and Palms Casino minority owner Greenspun Corporation. Lewis Roca Rothgerber is heavily involved in the casino gaming industry. According to the firm’s website, “Lewis Roca Rothgerber’s gaming practice group is a national practice that supports casino operators, suppliers, state and local governments, communities, businesses, non-profit organizations, tribal governments and others in addressing casino gaming law including Native American and riverboat casinos, racinos, interactive and mobile gaming, poker, and interstate horse racing.” Ryan, along with three other Lewis Roca Rothgerber attorneys, currently represent Brian Greenspun, owner of The Greenspun Corporation in a pending federal district court case, Greenspun, et al. vs. Stephens Media, LLC, et al, according to court documents. The Greenspun Corporation website states, “Palms Casino Resort — The Greenspun Corporation is also a minority partner in the Palms Casino Resort, a 95,000 square foot casino developed by the Maloof Companies where non-stop entertainment can be found. The Palms also opened its new expansion and has introduced Palms Place, a tower currently under construction, which will feature fully furnished condos…” The firm has also represented Brian Greenspun before various Nevada regulatory bodies relating to his interest in N-M Ventures which does business in the Palms Casino Resort, according to documents. Another potential conflict is that the law firm’s partner Alfredo Alonso represented Palms as a paid lobbyist before the Nevada Legislature in the 74th (2007), 75th (2009) and 76th (2011) sessions. The California resident’s arbitration was in 2011 and early 2012. The American Arbitration Association’s Model Standards of Conduct states, “A mediator shall decline a mediation if the mediator cannot conduct it in an impartial manner. Impartiality means freedom from favoritism, bias or prejudice.” In addressing conflicts of interest, the rules further state, “A mediator shall avoid a conflict of interest or the appearance of a conflict of interest during and after a mediation. A conflict of interest can arise from involvement by a mediator with the subject matter of the dispute or from any relationship between a mediator and any mediation participant, whether past or present, personal or professional, that reasonably raises a question of a mediator’s impartiality.” The resident has asked the court to overturn Ryan’s ruling as well as the award of attorney fees.
Our guest just shared the stage with George W. Bush for the second time at the Pearl Concert Theater in the Palms Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. He has also shared the stage with such names as Tony Robbins, Barbara Corcoran, and John Maxwell. He is endorsed by Dave Ramsey, Tom Hopkins, and Gary Keller. His books have been international bestsellers and his book (7L) The Seven Levels of Communication: Go from Relationships to Referrals has been the #1 book in Real Estate Sales on Amazon for almost 8 straight years! He started with no database and no influence and rapidly built a business based on referrals. In just his THIRD year of real estate he did 187 transactions and over $40 MM entirely from referrals. That year he got over 500 referrals and for the next 8 years, he received over 500 referrals every single year and netted over $1 million. And this was done in the relatively small market of Kansas City. He is now the CEO of REFERCO, the world's foremost authority in business referrals helping everyone from Realtors and Lenders to Fortune 500 companies get more referrals. Today, he is here to help us get more referrals. So... let's Please welcome Michael J Maher!' (Note: Maher is pronounced like 'mayor'). Do it, do it now, do it anyway. Do it! Do it! Just do it! And do it and do it… Go, do, through. Go, just go, show up. Just go and then do. Just do the work, just do it. Don't be thinking about it just do it, and share it and do it and do it and do it. Dare to suck, dare to be awful, dare to have an awful first draft… And then there is through. Go, do, through. And the through is you are going to reach a point of success suicide... Success suicide is you get to the precipice of a breakthrough and you have a breakdown…a weird opportunity comes to you or another opportunity or whatever it may be… you are going to have a breakdown before the breakthrough so that you can break records…[Listen for More] Click Here for Show Notes To Listen or to Get the Show Notes go to https://wp.me/p6Tf4b-6Ax
I'm still in Las Vegas. It's been great to get away for a few days and I just finished my presentation with my good friend Mark Green at the Real Estate Mastermind event at the Palms Casino. He and I spoke about inflation, interest rates, government shenanigans and how mortgage lenders need to change the way they do business if they want to survive and thrive as the industry changes. The truth is, all industries are changing...constantly. Your life is changing constantly. If you're not adapting you're going to get screwed. So today I thought I'd take some of the principles I shared on the stage and see if I can apply them to you and your life. Enjoy! Jason Support the show.
