During the most recent blinding snowstorm on the East Coast, we stayed warm in front of our microphones and talked about your movie and TV options. The movie companies somehow knew the weather was going to suck and decided not to put any new movies in theaters anyway, so it was up to us to tell you what your entertainment choices are. Bill McCuddy starts us off with "Clean" starring Adrien Brody as a garbage man named Clean who attempts a quiet life of redemption. But, soon finds himself forced to reconcile with the violence of his past. Then we look at the new HBO series "The Gilded Age" which is the latest historical costume drama from Julian Fellowes of "Downton Abbey" fame. Is it as good as that? We'll let you know. And speaking of series, we've got one called "The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window." It stars Kristen Bell as a heartbroken woman for whom every day is the same, that is until she witnesses a gruesome murder - Or did she? We've also got a horror thriller called "Antlers" and the latest Kevin James comedy "The Home Team" based (very loosely) on a true story. Oh, and there's "The Afterparty," a murder mystery starring Tiffany Haddish. Plus an interesting film from Indonesia called "Photocopy." There's so much more so tell your kids to shovel the driveway and listen in!

In this episode, Jessica M. Silbey, Professor of Law and Co-Director, Center for Law, Innovation and Creativity at Northeastern University School of Law, discusses her essay "Photocopier," which will be included in the book "A History of Intellectual Property in 50 Objects," edited by Claudy Op Den Kamp and Dan Hunter, and published by Cambridge University Press. Silbey begins by describing the book project and explaining how she got involved in it. She then recounts the history of the invention of the photocopier, and the different people and companies involved in its creation. She reflects on the social impact of the photocopier, and its ironic relationship to intellectual property. And she closes by discussing how this essay relates to her other scholarship, especially her work on communities of photographers. Silbey is on Twitter at @JSilbey.This episode was hosted by Brian L.
