Last weekend (Sat. April 20, 2024), Ryan Garcia shocked the world. Not long ago, Garcia was one of the hottest up-and-comers in boxing, but a one-sided knockout loss to Gervonta Davis and unimpressive bounce-back victory cooled expectations. Then, the community grew concerned for “King” after there was a murder hoax, and Garcia's public and online behavior raised many eyebrows. Against the undefeated Devin Haney, Garcia would not have been favored by odds makers at the best of times, but his pre-fight antics didn't seem to indicate a boxer that was training seriously. Missing weight and pounding a beer at weigh-ins seemed to confirm that Garcia was destined for a beating, and he grew to be an even larger underdog. It all changed on fight night. Garcia was confident and sharp from the very first bell, hurting Haney early with his signature left hook. Haney managed to win some rounds back, but when Garcia turned it on late, he knocked Haney down multiples times and forced the judges to deliver him the victory That's NOT Christian is a podcast by four urban believers who discuss current events and push the envelope on traditional religious subjects with a touch of humor. More than 50 people packed a school district meeting Thursday night to voice concerns about an attack that left a student injured in Pennsylvania. The assault happened on Wednesday afternoon around 1:20 p.m. in the cafeteria of the Pennbrook Middle School in North Wales. According to Upper Gwynedd police, surveillance video shows a seventh grader walking along a lunch table when the accused student runs toward her and begins hitting her in the head with a Stanley cup. "This was avoidable, and the district truly failed to protect the students at Pennbrook," one parent said at the meeting. "What are we supposed to say to our children after this? How do I send him back to school?" "I just don't know what went wrong. How did it get to this point? I would like answers on that," another parent said. ►Become a Member: https://www.youtube.com/c/ThatsNOTChristian/membership ►Shop: http://thatsnotchristian.com ► Telegram: https://t.me/thatsnotchristian ► Music by Ryan Little SPOTIFY: https://spoti.fi/2MmjRru ►Follow the Squad ANT: https://www.instagram.com/aptop25/ JAY: https://www.instagram.com/jayacosta/ JIMMY: https://www.instagram.com/jaeisla/ SWITCH: https://www.instagram.com/switch_in_hd ►Podcast Equipment Streamyard: https://streamyard.com/pal/5046807178772480 Canon M50: https://amzn.to/2NP7s3G Logitech BRIO- https://amzn.to/379YCnN Samson Q2U: https://amzn.to/3tcv2aW Ring Light: https://amzn.to/3tbxApJ Light Stand: https://amzn.to/2NKbg69 Smart Lights: https://amzn.to/3aeU5kW Gaming Chair: https://amzn.to/36nnFn0 DISCLAIMER: This video and description may contain affiliate links which allow us to receive a small commission when you click on a product links. Led by Commissioner Mike Moran, the Sarasota County commission last year drastically overhauled the way the county funds social services. During the first session of this year, Moran continued to put his laser focus on social services. But he now also yields the gavel for the county commission. WSLR News reporter Florence Fahringer was there to soak up the atmosphere of the Moran commission.Next: On Thursday, New College president presented to the faculty on his campus a new distance learning program — and the billionaire activist who is a driving force behind it. Then: Bradenton is selling city hall to a developer. Literally. Ryan Stanley is giving us an update on that story. Next: Volunteers will head out across Sarasota and Manatee counties in late January to count the area's homeless. This will generate data that will be used to determine funding levels both on a state and federal level. Catherine Hicks with the Community News Collaborative reports. But now he is facing more obstacles, as WSLR reporter Ramon Lopez found out. THEN: The seven Manatee County commissioners yesterday reconsidered a nearly 500-acre, 1,100-home project on farmland near Parrish. Were they back to the routine of approving massive projects east of the urban development boundary? Our news team watched the proceedings in downtown Bradenton.
What with crusaders turning the school board and hospital board into ideological battlefields, the Sarasota County Commission has been a bit of a latecomer in the culture wars. But, under the lead of Commissioner Mike Moran, they're now catching up, as Ramon Lopez reports. Meanwhile, at an elementary school in Sarasota, students, parents and teachers walked to honor Ruby Bridges and the history of racial integration of schools. Ryan Stanley was there. Then: The City of Sarasota has a new mayor. Which is not a big deal compared to other cities, because it happens every year. But it does have some significance, as Ramon Lopez reports.
Sarasota County's annual citizen survey is mostly a happy affair, reflecting general satisfaction with the services the county provides. But towards the end of the survey there is a question whose responses reflect the financial anxieties four out of five households in the county are facing. A regional AFL-CIO chapter is calling on Manasota supporters to join the picket line in Orlando tomorrow. Then: Sarasota County threatened an innovative entrepreneur with a $500-a-day fine if he didn't remove his produce-growing device from the Bay off Siesta Key. The entrepreneur pushed back, and got his day in court. WSLR's Ramon Lopez tells us what the judge decided. Then: Manatee County is offering New College a 16-acre piece of bayfront land, and the college is now figuring out whether to build a dorm and classrooms near the water - which, a campus plan suggests, is a bad idea. Among others: it may affect plans of a state attorney recently fired by Governor Ron DeSantis to run again. Chris Young with partner station WMNF has the details. Here he talks with Mark about the transition from 'yoga sales' to yoga instructor to an actual Yoga Teacher, sincerely caring about self and others. He has managed to bring all the other styles and put them into the context of the breath principles that Krishnamacharya, grandfather of modern yoga, actually taught.
