Jay Moussa-Mann is a singer and songwriter whose songs have been played repeatedly on BBC Introducing and BBC Radio 6. With her unique lyrical style, Jay explores themes of love and belonging in her music, writing each song as though it were a scene in a movie. Her songs describe the human moments of life. In 2018 her song Tides of Life was picked up by BBC Introducing Tees. Throughout 2018 and 2019 Jays tracks were played consistently and championed by BBC Introducing. She was invited to play live on the Bob Fischer afternoon show, her tracks were played by Tom Robinson on BBC Radio 6 Music and in 2019 Jay was invited to play at Twisterella Festival. She has supported talents such as Serious Sam, Ren Lawton, Amelia Coburn, Jodie Nicholson and played at the Tall Ships Races, Hartlepool. She took part in Sage Summer Studios in August 2020. Following that she applied for the Do It Differently Award through Help Musicians and was granted funding which enabled her to record her first pop album, working with producer Patrick Jordan (Motions, Young Rebel Set). Her first single off that album, American Tennessee, was chosen in the roundup of BBC Introducing Tees Best of 2021. It won Track of the Week on BBC Tees Introducing and was in the last 50 semi-finalists for the Road to Nashville International Song Contest, chosen out of 20,305 entries. In 2022 Jay was accepted onto the Co-Pilot mentoring scheme and worked with award winning jazz artist Martha D Lewis to develop her skills. Jay's self titled pop album around the theme of break ups was released 14th February 2023. #MusicInterviews #SocialMedia #Podcast

Serious Sam started out as a callback to earlier days of FPS games. When shooters were more simple. Times when Wolfenstein and Doom carried the genre with great level design and fun game play. Serious Sam 4 looks to leave some of that legacy behind but instead bring what it created forward. Unfortunately, due to performance issues on console and weirdly bad level design, Serious Sam 4 lacks a lot of fun. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/game-pass-or-pass/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/game-pass-or-pass/support

This a prequel to a prequel and clearly named ironically. Based on the last couple of picks, the Xbox Game Pass "Surprise Me" button must have caught on to Tom's love of alliteration. It also seems to have grown a heart, as this fourth numbered title is actually the first in the timeline of Croteam's first-person shooter franchise. Does this mean that our hosts will get a solid idea of the setting and characters before being thrust into the action? Spoiler Warning: considering the chaotic nature of this franchise, we doubt it. On the bright side, our hosts have plenty of practice being overwhelmed and confused, so let's see how their experience with an hour of this mayhem ranks up when the controllers are put down. New episodes broadcast live on Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/sotdcast Our brains hurt! Chris has come down with more Final Fantasy the poor guy, but he doesn't seem to mind - in fact he's been getting high off the Final Fantasy X Remaster, and tries to push it on Tom, who now knows more than two facts about the game. There's a review of Supermassive Games' Heavy Agenda and the Icarus-esque flight it manages towards greatness, a decent natter about Silent Hill 2's endings, voice acting in Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid 1 and a fun digression into anti-piracy measures. This week's focus is of course John Dies At The End, a fun if deliberately obtuse film - the kind that is taking you on a very strange trip indeed. The irony is John bites it about halfway through, but comes back - unlike Matt's microphone, which stayed dead. Determined to salvage a very interesting conversation, we chat about Paul Giamatti's involvement, Barkley, Marconi and the twisted soy-sauce itself. We couldn't explain it to you if we tried; much like Arnie Blondestone, you have to see the thing for what it is. Just don't ever look in the corner, a creepy spider thing lives there. We don't talk about the corner. Closing things out, Tom and Chris air their grievances with modern-day supermarkets and their fascination with offloading their jobs onto us! TAKE BACK YER JOBS! The Shadow Warrior series has been around for a while, but I've never put more than a few minutes into any of them until now, so if you're looking to find out how this one differs from the others, I can't help you. With that out of the way, I liked Shadow Warrior 3. I liked it so much I went back and finished it after recording this episode. It may be full of terrible humor and relatively repetitive gameplay, but it feels good and doesn't overstay its welcome, providing a solid, fast-paced shooting experience that feels good on controller, but likely excels on mouse and keyboard. In many ways, it plays like how I wish Serious Sam played; you have a good amount of tools and abilities at your disposal--dashing, a grappling hook, a chi blast, and finishers--and, while the non-shooting bits are hit or miss, the majority of firefights are a good time and, really, what more do you need?

Somehow, the year is almost over and yet it feels like it's only just begun, or maybe it actually feels like it's been multiple years despite it only being one. Whether you fall into the former camp or the latter camp, many games have come and gone in this here year of 2021 and this episode features a plethora of games that just came out only recently (or, at the very least, came out on a new platform recently), including Happy's Humble Burger Farm (which is...indescribable), Serious Sam 4 (which is seriously just more Serious Sam), and Wytchwood (wytch is an incredibly beautiful game and just lovely all around). I only mentioned three, but this episode has so much more it might explode, so whether you celebrate a holiday or not, here's to celebrating the wonderful world of video games and all the joy it provides. Cheers to games and cheers to you. Anyway...That's it and that's all folks. If you're feeling extra generous, you can become a patron, donate a little something, or subscribe to show your support for the site, the podcasts, the streaming, the videos, the art, and everything in between. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to consume any of the content I make and thank you for being a fan. I can't begin to express how much I appreciate each and every one of you. :)

Serious Sam is a video game series created and primarily developed by Croteam. It consists predominantly of first-person shooters. The series follows the advances of mercenary Sam "Serious" Stone against Mental, an extraterrestrial overlord who attempts to destroy humanity at various points in time. The first game, Serious Sam: The First Encounter, was released for Microsoft Windows in March 2001. Several spin-offs were developed by other developers, such as a Palm OS conversion of The First Encounter by InterActive Vision, Serious Sam: Next Encounter (on GameCube and PlayStation 2) by Climax Solent, and Serious Sam Advance (on Game Boy Advance) by Climax London. All three were published by Global Star Software. ****************************************************************************************** Grab a beer, a slice of pizza and come hang out with us.
