In this opening episode of a special three-part podcast series marking 20 years since the 7/7 London bombings, we begin with a personal testimony from me on the World Extreme Medicine podcast. This episode is hosted on the Pre-Hospital Care Podcast, with kind permission from the World Extreme Medicine Podcast, hosted by Will Duffin.Part 1 focuses on the immediate response: arriving into uncertainty, operating amid ongoing risk, and delivering care in an environment few clinicians are ever truly prepared for. Eoin reflects on descending into the darkness of the London Underground, the sensory overload of a major incident, and coming face to face with the human cost of mass casualty trauma. This is a raw, unfiltered account of clinical decision-making, emotional impact, and the realities of frontline care on a day that changed everything.Content Warning: This episode contains detailed and graphic descriptions of traumatic injuries, death, and first-person reflections on the 7/7 bombings. Books and Brews: the place where beer and literature meet! In 1977 at the age of 21, Christiane Scarpino miraculously survived a terrorist bombing when she left her desk, just 10 feet from the bomb, to go get her morning donut and coffee from a co-worker. Missing Pieces tells the story of the bombing, the aftermath of dealing with the FBI's interrogations, and the long-term PTSD impacts. We talked about Christiane's name-change that resulted from the trauma of the bombing, what PTSD is as compared to how it's casually used today, her duck tolling retrievers, EMDR therapy, long=term memory issues and impact of PTSD and advice on healing and moving forward from trauma. We covered the group behind the bombing and the question of why they were eventually given clemency for an act that killed the man visiting Christiane's office that day. 00:00 START 04:49 Drink 1: Lavender Lullaby: a mocktail 06:36 Reading 1: The Explosion 13:10 Purpose after Near Death 15:12 Clemency for Murder 17:22 Drink 2: The Laser Beam 18:47 Reading 2: The Lineup 24:59 Dogs and Duck Tollers 30:334 Relaxation Techniques 32:52 Why Can't You Just be Grateful? 34:36 Drink 3: Lady Jane 37:12 Reading 3: The Importance of Names 40:26 On Changing a Name 42:51 EMDR 43:42 Functioning without memory 50:34 Best Advice for Those Dealing with PTSD Visit our PATREON for our extended AFTER HOURS with Ashley and Andrea Www.booksandbrews.net www.lauravosika.com www.gabrielshornpress.com www.glenmirrilfarms.wordpress.com Www.christianescarpino.net ~ ~ If you enjoy our interviews or have benefited from them, we invite you to help us continue our work. The U.S. Justice Department said on Friday it thwarted an alleged plan by a North Carolina man to carry out an ISIS-inspired attack using knives and hammers on New Year's Eve. Christan Sturdivant, 18, of Mint Hill, North Carolina, was charged with providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization, according to a Justice Department statement.Dozens of young partygoers injured in a New Year's Eve bar fire in Switzerland were transferred to specialist burn units across Europe as they fought for their lives on Friday after being hit by the devastating blaze, which has killed at least 40. Initial findings showed the fire that spread among the mostly young crowd of revellers in Le Constellation bar in the Swiss ski resort of Crans-Montana was likely caused by sparkler candles being carried too close to the ceiling, the local prosecutor said.

Five days after the anti-Semitic terrorist attack at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Brandon is joined by Rabbi Noam Raucher, spiritual coach, rabbi, and host of The Jewish Divorce Project, for a grounded and deeply human conversation about grief, fear, resilience, and responsibility.Rather than rushing to politicize or defend positions, this episode slows down and asks a more essential question: How should human beings respond first when confronted with violence?Together, Brandon, Noam, and Boysen explore:The emotional impact of the Bondi Beach attack during HanukkahWhy witnessing pain must come before analysis or opinionHow desensitization to violence erodes our shared humanityJewish resilience and the deeper meaning of Hanukkah as rededication and lightHolding outrage and compassion at the same timeGenerational trauma and how it lives in the body and communityThe difference between knee-to-knee healing and shoulder-to-shoulder rebuildingWhy apathy is more dangerous than angerForgiveness as releasing anger, not excusing harmHow to “bank” moments of safety, connection, and love during dark timesThis conversation is not about answers. It is about posture. In the wake of the Bondi Beach terrorist attack over the weekend, the Albanese government is fast-tracking a suite of legislative reforms aimed at cracking down on hate speech and tightening migration laws to avert individuals with extremist views. While the government faces pressure to introduce harsher border policies, it has rejected calls for a Royal Commission, arguing that immediate executive action and enforcement are more urgent than a lengthy public inquiry.

On this episode of the Mike Force Podcast, we break down a series of violent events that signal a growing shift in global and domestic security. A terror attack in Australia left 16 innocent people dead during a community celebration. At the same time, U.S. intelligence officials are warning that an estimated 18,000 known or suspected terrorists may already be inside the country. These aren't abstract numbers. They reflect a threat landscape that is changing fast.I also cover the Brown University shooting that claimed the lives of two students and left nine others injured while the gunman remains at large. Finally, we look at the attack in Syria where two U.S. soldiers and a civilian interpreter were killed in an ambush linked to ISIS. It's a stark reminder that jihadist violence has not disappeared. It has evolved. This episode focuses on what these incidents mean, how they connect, and why Americans need to understand the reality of the world we're living in. This isn't fear. It's awareness. It's preparedness. And it's the truth.Carnivault - The best freeze dried meat for prep or dinner. On today’s show, Josh Hammer breaks down the horrific terror attack that struck the day before Thanksgiving — and why it’s a direct consequence of reckless, wide-open immigration policies. Josh demands urgent action to fully vet every Afghan refugee brought in under the Biden administration and calls for a temporary pause on all migration until we actually know who is entering the country.Josh then turns to the week’s major geopolitical development: the U.S. striking narco-terrorist boats in international waters. He explains why the attacks were legally justified, pointing to a 1936 Supreme Court case that strongly backs the legality of decisive action against foreign criminal threats.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Ben unpacks how the Biden administration's botched Afghanistan withdrawal, and the influx of more than 90,000 Afghans with uncertain vetting, set the stage for this moment, and why this attack exposes the devastating real-world impact of Biden's policies.
