She stars as Annika Atwater in the show YOU on Netflix, and is currently starring as Bella in Jagged Little Pill on Broadway! This interview was filmed entirely on the floors of our respective houses during the #socialdistancing COVID-19 outbreak. In her own words, she’s been “preparing for quarantine her whole life.” Aside from discussing the obvious, we go deep into her own psyche, how playing Bella has helped her work through her own past trauma, and how Spring Awakening also fell in her lap, thus changing her life. At a young age, Kathryn was always performing -- she put on "shows" for her invisible audience while brushing her teeth as a child (and maybe even last week!). The founders of Signal Sciences, a Pivotal partner and leading web application security provider, got their start managing security for Etsy's cloud-native applications. Their methods proved so effective and popular on the speaking circuit, they decided to start a company. (I may have been watching too many John Oliver episodes...)   Jeff Williams ( @Planetlevel ) and Tyler Shields ( @txs ) join me to talk this topic over from where we've been, to what we're doing now, to what the solution to this mess will be one day in the future. It's an interesting conversation that should stir up some emotion if you've been in AppSec or software security as there really are no docile opinions on this topic (or many others in security, unfortunately).   Plug in, listen and enjoy.
