Rachel Crethar started Rock & Co in January 2016 while juggling two kids and a career in advertising as a media strategist. Guided by a strong ‘knowing’ following a chance encounter with a piece of Citrine a year earlier,  Rachel was inspired to create Rock & Co. Rachel’s intuition served her well, with Rock & Co growing rapidly and to become the “most coveted crystal brand in Australia”. In 2017 she left the advertising world behind to focus full time on Rock & Co and her growing work within the healing space. Rachel hosted regular workshops and events across Australia and New Zealand, educating and empowering people to harness the healing power of crystals within their own lives. In 2018, inspired by her love of healing and fascination with how the subconscious can create our reality, Rachel completed her studies to become a certified hypnotherapist and Rapid Transformational (RTT) Therapist. After personally suffering from anxiety, low self-esteem and post-natal depression in the past, Rachel’s empathy and passion for understanding the human mind, and why we do the things we do, is innate.  Rachel now works with clients all over the world, helping them overcome all kinds of problems including anxiety, emotional eating disorders, removing money blocks, relationship issues and even helping them fall pregnant naturally after years of trying. Sessions are mostly conducted online via Zoom or Skype, with a limited number of appointments available in-person in Sydney’s Paddington. Rachel was named one of Women's Health Magazine’s '25 Trailblazers on a Mission to Change Your World' in 2019, and has also been featured in Real Living, Elle Australia, Marie Claire Australia, Baskk, Peppermint, Yen Magazine, Body & Soul, The  Wayward, Byrdie and more. In this episode, Rachel shares her journey of transitioning from a full time career into running her own online business Rock & Co and then how she pivoted to become a RTT professional helping people all over the world.  I share my experience working with Rachel during my personal RTT session and when I was enrolled in her online course Higher Ground.  For more information on RTT or to book a session with Rachel you can find her on Instagram. @rockandco www.rachelcrethar.com   Resources Mentioned - Episode #229 The Lively Show by Jess Lively - The most powerful way to change unwanted thoughts & behaviors I’ve ever found with Marisa Peer https://jesslively.com/marisapeer/ Many Lives Many Masters by Dr. Brian Weisshttps://amzn.to/35bNJ18  It Didn't Start with You by Mark Wolynnhttps://amzn.to/2QwQ5Cv  The Big Leap by Gay Hendrickshttps://amzn.to/2sAXhoZ

(‘Oh yeah … wasn’t I going to go on a diet and lose twenty pounds?’) I begin this show by reading Chapter Nine of my new book, The Extremely Busy Woman’s Guide to Self-Care. It’s all about this very phenomenon, and some of the thinking that drives these choices. Which is a perfect set up for my guest … who knows ALL about healthier eating and drinking! I have a soft spot in my heart for superfood expert and cookbook author Julie Morris. Julie’s book Superfood Smoothies helped me weather my grief when my daughter Teal died in 2012. I truly believe those superfoods were part of how I not only managed my upheaval, but also how I began to learn self-care again. Today Julie’s work continues to expand, sharing superfood recipes in soups, snacks, juices and more. And her newest work on ‘smart plants’ is designed to help us optimize our brains. How cool is that? Listen in as we get down and dirty on how natural nootropics enhance the brain, and why they are so important in this digital, hyper-speed age in which we live. This week I’m extremely thrilled to talk with my teacher and mentor Layla Martin.  We dive deep into what it takes to truly create the pleasure and intimacy you want in your relationships.   We get real and raw on the reality of relationships, and what to do to experience the epic connection and sex you desire in your partnership.   As many of you may know, I’ve studied with Layla for many years, and graduated from her school, The Tantric Institute of Integrated Sexuality as a Sex, Love and Relationship Coach as well as a Jade Egg Coach.   (You can read more about my story HERE)   Sexuality both fascinated and scared Layla Martin from a very young age and she’s always been obsessed with it.    She studied human sexuality at Stanford and then spent the next 10 years in the jungles of Asia working with Tantric masters.    Layla now blends ancient Tantric wisdom with modern science to help detox people's unhealthy relationships with sex.    Her Youtube channel has more than 65 million views, Cosmopolitan calls her a ‘sexpert extraordinaire’ and Women's Health Magazine has dubbed her the ‘headmistress of pleasure’.   Listen in as we discuss what led Layla to create the Tantric Institute of Integrated Sexuality, how to bring safety and aliveness back to long term relationships, how your triggering moments are not your truth, using relationship as a container for personal evolution, and how to truly create the pleasure and intimacy you crave.

For episode 40 we're pulling back the curtain to see what successful fitness operations and new technologies are creating loyal customers from the co-owner of one of the top 10 gyms in the United States, Rachel Cosgrove from Results Fitness. For all sizes of clubs across the industry, we realize now more than ever how truly important it is for operators to focus on personalized communication and engagement through social media, email, and text to meet the demands of the fast-evolving customer experience our members are asking for.  In this show, you'll learn from Rachel why she believes it's the hand-crafted emails and time-capped Facebook contests that can deliver high value to members outside the club, what lessons she's learned from over 20 years in fitness, what are the best practices in the transitions from trainer to a successful operator, and why the boomer generation are now requesting more text communication for fitness as their digital literacy increases. It's clear that even with a high performing facility like Results Fitness and many others, there are still some very large gaps to be filled when it comes to integrating technology solutions seamlessly into both the fitness professional's toolbox and to a customer's journey. But what does one of the top 10 gyms in America do to for both human touch and technology integration for successful fitness operations? The answer to that question and much more takeaways for club owners, operators, and fitness pros in this episode with Rachel Cosgrove.  About Rachel Cosgrove  Rachel Cosgrove is the co-owner of Results Fitness, voted one of the top 10 gyms in the United States three years in a row by Men’s Health Magazine. She is a consultant for Nike, on the advisory board for Livestrong.com and Women's Health Magazine, and is a featured columnist for Women’s Health Magazine and the Huffington Post. Rachel is the best selling author of the "The Female Body Breakthrough," and has also been featured in numerous magazines including Men’s Health, Women’s Health, Oxygen and many many more including Dr. Oz.  As one of the featured speakers for Perform Better, she lectures nationally and internationally on topics such as strength training, fat loss, business in the fitness industry and nutrition specifically for women helping them to reach their potential in all aspects of their life. She is also the best-selling author of the book, Drop Two Sizes: A Proven Plan to Ditch the Scale, Get the Body You Want & Wear the Clothes You Love. Extremely goal oriented, Rachel is always looking for a new physical challenge and draws from experience making her a better coach. Rachel and her team at Results Fitness strive to be the best part of their members’ day every day, achieving results, changing lives, and having fun while doing it. They are on a mission to “Change The Way Fitness Is Done.” Listen To Episode 040 As Rachel Uncovers How Club operators can deal with overwhelm at the intersection of technology and fitness business operations As a club operator why if you're not delegating, you're being selfish Where to start if a club owner is feeling overwhelmed by depending on your core values  Understanding the new member orientation process and which category the client falls into:  Look better  Feel better  Perform better Understanding the personality types of the new client:  outgoing, introvert, ect Why at Results Fitness, Rachel and her staff send clients an email breakdown of their heart rate training zones after each session or class Why at Results Fitness, Rachel and her staff use handwritten cards and personally written emails for a higher level of service and client experience How beyond giving a phenomenal workout experience, why a personality matrix to understand the type of communication a new member wants and what type of personality they have will create a loyal fitness customer How Rachel uses Facebook to engage current members with "club bucks" and attract new members How to use Facebook to increase the digital literacy of members 50+ Why Rachel specializes in working with women and communication in the fitness industry  Why heading into IHRSA with a game plan will be yield more success when researching and discovering new technology platforms for clubs How Rachel transitioned from being a trainer to a business operator: what systems and change were involved Top 3 Takeaways From The Show Rachel reminds us that when it comes to fitness and technology, change is inevitable. It's part of growth and it's part of running a business. If you're not somebody who embraces change and who really wants to find a better way constantly then you're not going to be in business for too long.  The new member orientation process is pivotal in securing a long-term customer.  Rachel believes that using a combination of personality typing and personalized communication via heart rate monitors, intimate emails sent after workouts, as well as speaking to the new member in the language they most understand will create a loyal customer who becomes an advocate for your fitness facility. As successful club owners like Rachel take a deeper look into the technology solutions that are rapidly entering our space, it's not just about collecting data for data sake. What's most important is that we collect data with the primary intention of constantly improving and enriching the customer experience. Power Quotes From Rachel  "If you're not delegating responsibility to your staff and trying to run everything on your own, you're actually keeping your team from stepping into roles that they can accel at and bring even more value to your company. When you choose to not let go and have your staff take over the roles they deserve, you're essentially being selfish as an operator."  - Rachel Cosgrove on the Fitness + Technology Podcast "Change is inevitable, it's part of growth and running a business. If you're not somebody who embraces change and who really wants to find a better way constantly, then you're not going to be in business for too long." - Rachel Cosgrove on the Fitness + Technology Podcast "Members are craving personal connection now more than ever. If we ever start to get replaced by online trainers, artificial intelligence or an app, then the truth is we must elevate our game." - Rachel Cosgrove on the Fitness + Technology Podcast Resources Mentioned From Rachel  Result Fitness on the web  Rachel Cosgrove on LinkedIn Rachel Cosgrove on Facebook Rachel Cosgrove on Twitter Rachel Cosgrove on the web Rachel on IDEA Fitness Rachel on LIVESTRONG Thomas Plummer - Fitness Industry Consultant Zappos Company Culture: Creating Core Values Jim Collins: Good To Great Delivering Happiness: Tony Shea, Zappos How Successful People Think: John Maxwell  Mind Body Software In-Body FitMetrics Skipio Texting Application Perform Better Series Fitness Business Summit IHRSA Bedros Keuilian: Fitness Business   The 2017 FIT-C Tech Trends Report Results Fitness University Bobby Cappuccio: Fitness + Technology Podcast Episode 027 Thanks To Our Outstanding Sponsors Bryan O’Rourke and his family of companies including Vedere Ventures, Integerus Advisors, and many more. Today's conversation is a deep one about sex with Layla Martin (pun intended...I couldn't help myself!). Called "The Headmistress of Pleasure" by Women's Health Magazine, Layla spent years studying sexuality at both Stanford University & in the jungles of Asia with Tantric masters. We explored all the things in this chat. From sensuality, play and energetic fullness, to different types of orgasms, better understanding female anatomy, and sexual shame. Related to shame and all the emotions and triggers surrounding sex, we also discussed how our bodies are designed to heal and how sex is not just a pleasure path but a healing one as well. Listen to this one a few times, especially if any of these threads strike a cord for you and of course, let me know what you think! About Layla Martin: Layla Martin is the golden standard of holistic sexuality of the millennial generation -- teaching highly intelligent, successful and conscious audiences how to have epic sex and totally incredible relationships through a new approach to the body and intimacy. Her mission is healing and evolving people's conceptions of what sex and relationships truly are. Layla studied human sexuality at Stanford University and then moved to Asia where she worked extensively with Tantric masters for over seven years, mostly in the jungle. All in all, she’s done over ten thousand hours of training in Tantra and sacred sexuality. Her approach is to take this deep wisdom, which is often overlooked because it is cloaked in overly hippy or new-agey language and design and make it highly accessible to young, modern, amazing people by making it entertaining and super fun. Layla brings her knowledge of ancient teachings, and seven years of extensive work with Tantric masters in Asia combined with her foundational education studying human sexuality at Stanford University to hundreds of thousands of people who are suffering from an approach to sex and relationships that has been shaped by hundreds and even thousands of years of old religious and social taboos around these topics that are no longer fully relevant to modern society and yet still play a large role in influencing how we approach love, sex and relationships. In this episode, Layla shares: 1. Sex education for adults 2. Why cervical orgasms are Layla's favorite 3. How to navigate crying during sex from both partners' perspectives 4. Sexual shame for men and women
