Today, we're diving into a topic that every believer must master—discerning the voices we listen to. Not every piece of advice, even from well-meaning people, aligns with God's truth. How do we know when wisdom is from the Lord or simply worldly reasoning? Let's get to work. Our springboard for today's discussion is:"Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world." — 1 John 4:1God's Word is clear—there are many voices in the world, but not all of them are from Him. Some advice sounds wise but lacks the foundation of Scripture. Some counsel appeals to emotions or logic yet contradicts God's principles. Even among believers, differences in spiritual maturity can impact the wisdom they share. That's why we're called to test the spirits.Testing what we hear begins with Scripture. If advice doesn't align with the Bible, it's not from God—no matter how persuasive it sounds. The Holy Spirit also speaks to us, providing confirmation or hesitation. That unease you feel? It might be God telling you to pause and seek Him further. Wise counsel from godly, mature believers is another safeguard. Proverbs 15:22 says, "Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed." However, even those advisers must be filtered through God's truth. In a world filled with conflicting messages, discernment is not optional—it's essential. By testing everything against God's Word and the Spirit's leading, we ensure we are walking in truth and wisdom.Question of the Day: When have you felt uneasy about advice you received? How did you discern whether it was from God?Let's Pray: Lord, in a world of many voices, help us hear only Yours. Teach us to test every spirit, align with Your Word, and follow Your wisdom. Give us discernment to recognize truth and reject deception. In Jesus' name, Amen.Let's Get to Work!My Reasons To Believe is a reader-supported publication. 98:1-3 God's own arm has brought salvation and all the earth witnesses His lovingkindness and faithfulness to Israel. 98:4-6 All the earth is called to praise God When a king came to the throne there was a ceremony with blowing of trumpets and shouting (I Sam. 10:24; I Kings 1:39-40) and clapping of hands (II Kings 11:12). All nature responds this way to God's kingship. 98:7-9 There are slight differences with Psalm 96:11-13. “Instead of the heavens and earth, this psalm has the world and all who live in it (a phrase found elsewhere only in 24:1, a psalm of temple entry that also celebrates Yahweh as the King). Mark 8:22-30 starts with a healing and ends with a declaration. It causes us to ask a simple question: What stage are you in with your pursuit of God?Jesus lays his hand on the blind man and does something unusual: he heals in stages. At first the man can't see clearly, then Jesus touches him again and his sight is completely restored. Mark 8:22-26The two-stage healing is a metaphor for what Jesus' disciples were experiencing on a spiritual level. Throughout the book of Mark the disciples were progressively gaining clarity on the true identity of Jesus. In Caesarea Philippi Peter makes a personal declaration of faith. This is the first time a character in the story echoes the truth of the book's opening verse. Mark 8:27-30, Mark 1:1God is continually working to reveal himself to us. The defining moment is when we make a personal declaration of faith in Jesus. Romans 10:9-10

"Jesus Could Have Come By Now!" Sabbath School Lesson for 2022, 1st Quarter In These Last Days: The Message of Hebrews Week 1 This quarter's study is called, "In These Last Days: The Message of Hebrews." This week's lesson is entitled, "The Letter to the Hebrews and to Us." Thursday's lesson is, "These Last Days," and will be the focus of our study today. The lesson makes the comparison between the first century audience contemporary to the author of Hebrews and the readership of Hebrews today. It notes that the author of Hebrews, (who the Sabbath School lesson portrays as Paul, but we must note that this is not actually stated in the book itself, it is just a theory), believes that he is living in "the last days," not unlike what we believe today. The lesson also points out that the author of Hebrews compares the believers' experience in the first century with the experience of those on the verge of the promised land in Moses' day. Interestingly, Ellen White did the exact same thing in her writings in regard to the experience of the SDAs of her day, which we will get to in a minute. But first, the lesson reads, "There is a very important element that the apostle emphasizes that adds urgency to his exhortation: the readers are living in the very 'last days' (Heb. 1:2) and the promises are about to be fulfilled (Heb. 10:36– 38). It is interesting, as we will see, that throughout the document Paul compares his audience with the desert generation that stood right before the border of Canaan, ready to enter into the Promised Land. He reminds them, '"For yet a little while, and He who is coming will come and will not tarry"' (Heb. 10:37, NKJV). And then he encourages them: 'We are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul' (Heb. 10:39, NKJV). This last exhortation reminded the readers, and us, about the dangers that the people of God have historically experienced right before the fulfillment of the promises of God." Sabbath School Quarterly Lesson, Thursday, December 30, 2021 Many have noticed that quite a few prominent people in the movement of God throughout the ages have thought they were living in the "last days." First, as the Sabbath School lesson points out, we have the author of Hebrews believing this, as written in Hebrews 1:1-2 which reads, 1God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; But we can see this in other places as well. Peter in Acts 2 clearly applies Joel's prophecy concerning the "last days" to the experience that the 120 in the upper room were having at the third hour of the day on Pentecost. John the Revelator also seemed to believe that Jesus was coming in his day. In Revelation 22:20 even Jesus himself is recorded as saying, 20 He who testifies to these things [Jesus] says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! Ellen White also clearly thought she was going to experience the second coming of Christ in her day. In "Last Day Events," pages 36-37, there is compiled a collection of her statements that indicate that she was under the impression that Christ was to come in her day. So, what accounts for the fact that all these thought Jesus was going to return in their day, and yet he didn't? Were they just wrong, or is there some other reason? Well, as we've evidenced in other videos, history unfolds in a free, or undetermined, way. Too often, people think that God has already planned exactly how and when everything in history is going to happened, as though the exact date of the second coming was predestined before the world was even made. In reality, God interacts with the humanity in a very dynamic and genuine way. Our choices actually make a huge difference, even to such an extent that we can hasten or delay the second coming. There have been times in the past when the second coming was genuinely close to happening, but then was delayed through...well...let's let Ellen explain that. Here something she said regarding just such a delay... Ellen wrote, "The history of ancient Israel is a striking illustration of the past experience of the Adventist body. God led his people in the Advent movement, even as he led the children of Israel from Egypt. In the great disappointment their faith was tested as was that of the Hebrews at the Red Sea. Had they still trusted to the guiding hand that had been with them in their past experience, they would have seen of the salvation of God. If all who had labored unitedly in the work in 1844 had received the third angel's message, and proclaimed it in the power of the Holy Spirit, the Lord would have wrought mightily with their efforts. A flood of light would have been shed upon the world. Years ago the inhabitants of the earth would have been warned, the closing work completed, and Christ would have come for the redemption of his people." Ellen White, The Spirit of Prophecy, Vol. 4, p 291 Here we see that just like the author of Hebrews, Ellen compares the Advent experience with that of the ancient Israelites. But beyond that, Ellen speaks of a rejection of the third angel's message by many Millerites. Many Adventists from the Millerite movement did not receive these messages as they should have, and therefore they did not finish the gospel work and Christ did not "come quickly" back in the years following the Great Disappointment as He obviously wanted to. And I think all will admit that according to Revelation, Jesus wanted to come again very soon to take unto himself his church in the first century. But as we all know, apostasy was taking root, and the very truths that formed the pillar and foundation of the faith of Jesus and the apostles were being corrupted and ultimately rejected. This rejection of the light of truth is what delayed the second Advent and instead brought about the dark ages. Light and darkness are constantly battling. Light to hasten the completion of the plan of redemption and darkness to delay it. In fact, this has been going on since before Christ's first advent and is an impart part of why Christ came. Consider this statement from Ellen White: "Cherubims and seraphims, angels and archangels, are watching the battle that is going on in this life. Between whom? The Prince of life and the power of darkness. And what does God do? He shows us how we must do, how we must conduct the battle. He left the royal courts, laid aside His royal robe, and clothed His humanity with divinity. He became a man among the sons of men, and here He walked the world as what? A representative of the love of God, an example that we may study, a character that we may imitate every phase of, that we may see that He did not live to glorify Himself, but He lived to point to God. He came to live the law of God, because Satan was bringing his power to bear upon men, and his lying fallacies were all the time pressing upon them." Ellen White, 1 SAT 241.1 Jesus came at a dark time in earth's history. As we can read here from Ellen, fallacious thinking ruled the day; that is, logical fallacies and cognitive biases reined in their minds. And we hope you can see that the same thing is true today. We are in the midst of a misinformation crises. And it isn't just in the world; it's in the church too. We clearly need a wake up call. Ellen told us over a century ago that we rejected the message of Justification by faith, which is the third age's message in verity, (see The Review and Herald, April 1, 1890). Basically, in 1888 we, like the early church and the Millerites at large, also rejected God's message. Concerning the message of justification by faith which was rejected in 1888, Ellen wrote, "The Lord designed that the messages of warning and instruction given through the Spirit to his people should go everywhere. But the influence that grew out of the resistance of light and truth at Minneapolis, tended to make of no effect the light God had given to his people through the Testimonies. 'Great Controversy,' Vol. 4 has not had the circulation that it should have had, because some of those who occupy responsible positions were leavened with the spirit that prevailed at Minneapolis, a spirit that clouded the discernment of the people of God. "The work of opponents to the truth has been steadily advancing while we have been compelled to devote our energies in a great degree to counteracting the work of the enemy through those who were in our ranks. The dullness of some and the opposition of others have confined our strength and means largely among those who know the truth, but do not practice its principles. If every soldier of Christ had done his duty, if every watchman on the walls of Zion had given the trumpet a certain sound, the world might ere this have heard the message of warning. But the work is years behind. What account will be rendered to God for thus retarding the work?" Ellen White, GCDB February 28, 1893, par. 4-5 A few years later, Ellen said, "If those who claimed to have a living experience in the things of God had done their appointed work as the Lord ordained, the whole world would have been warned ere this, and the Lord Jesus would have come in power and great glory." Ellen White, RH October 6, 1896, par. 7 Clearly, the 1888 message was rejected and it resulted in a delay in Christ's coming. In fact, he could have already returned were it not for rejecting this light. If we rejected the message in 1888 and in the years that closely followed, why do we think we have an understanding of the message today? After all, if we've accepted the 1888 message and have been proclaiming it as a church for many decades, shouldn't Christ have returned by now? Did Ellen ever say we ever accepted the message of Justification by faith in her lifetime? Not to our knowledge. So, why do we think we are in need of nothing? Jesus said, “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!" Matthew 23:37 Jesus said this, of course, right before they killed him. Their minds were so dark with misinformation that they did not recognize their messiah. The cause of this? It was the rejection of the God-breathed messages Jesus Himself had sent by the Holy Spirit through the prophets over the years. Nothing has changed. If Christ is not here, it is because we have done the same thing. We have failed to accept the light God has given. This is true of old light as well as new light. Ellen said, "In every age there is a new development of truth, a message of God to the people of that generation. The old truths are all essential; new truth is not independent of the old, but an unfolding of it. It is only as the old truths are understood that we can comprehend the new. . . . But it is the light which shines in the fresh unfolding of truth that glorifies the old. He who rejects of neglects the new does not really possess the old." Ellen White, Christ's Object Lessons, p. 127 How urgently, then, should we seek new light God has given to build on the old. We believe that the Spirit of Prophecy (the testimony of Jesus by the Holy Spirit through a prophet) is still active in the SDA church today, although unrecognized by most. Mercy still tarries, but time is short. We invite you to look deeper into this claim by reading our study, "The King of Crises in the Seventh-day Adventist Church," by Trent Wilde.

Then we'll do our “On This Day In Church History” segment and we'll pray for some needs in the Lifespring Family. Thoughts on Psalms 11 Thoughts on Psalm 11 There was a time, before he was king, when David was being pursued by King Saul. And David's friends, though well intentioned, gave him advice not founded in faith. "Run away! Hide!" David's response was, "Why should I hide when I trust in God's protection? God is still on His throne. He sees what is happening to me, and He will deal with those who wish to do me harm. He knows I am His, and He will watch over me." Beloved, Family, have you noticed that everywhere you look we are being given another reason to be afraid? "There's a new variant, and it's worse than the last!" "ISIS is back!" "The Taliban is back!" "Joe Biden wants to steal your retirement!" "China!" "Russia!" "The Commie Left!" "The Nazi Right!" "We're all gonna die!" If I didn't know better, I just might think it's a coordinated effort! Relax. I'm not going to go all political on you. But I will say that, yes it is being coordinated. But not by any political party or nation. It's being coordinated by the one who wants us to look at whats happening instead of our Heavenly Father. David had it right. Why should we fear when we know that "the Lord is in his holy temple. The Lord is on his throne in heaven." Yes, He is watching. He knows who are His and who are doing evil. The evil will suffer His wrath, and the righteous will enjoy His blessings. Psalm 46:1-2a says, "1God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. 2Therefore will not we fear..." Isaiah 41:10 "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God..." Jesus said, "...In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33 I could go on and on. God's Word is full of phrases like "fear not", "don't be afraid" and the like. There's a saying going around that there are 365 "fear nots" in the Bible...one for each day of the year. That's a nice thought, but it's not true. But that's ok. There are actually many, many more times that we are assured that we have no need to fear in the Bible. Listen, Family. God has many names in the Bible. I did a podcast called "In Touch With God's Character" for some time. Each episode was only a few minutes long, in which I would focus on one of the names of God. Each name of God emphasizes an aspect of who He is. Jesus, when praying to the Father in the Garden of Gethsemane prayed, "Abba Father". Do you know what Abba means? It's an Aramaic word that roughly means "Daddy". It speaks of the close, intimate relationship of a father and child, and the childlike trust that a youngster places in his daddy. We also have that relationship with God! Paul wrote in Romans 8:14-15, "14For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” Beloved, with God, the Creator of all that is, as our Daddy, what have we got to be afraid of? “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”“Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.” Mark 5:28 & 34Now remember, in Hebrews 13:8 Jesus says, "I am the same yesterday, today and forever." He never changes - He is the same. Maybe you can hear a slight wind blowing, I am sitting on top of a hill overlooking the mighty blue Indian Ocean. What a beautiful morning! And you know, there is one thought that comes to my mind it is:“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1God said one word and everything that I am looking at came to pass. Is He not able to heal your affliction today my dear friend? You see, that woman had spent all her money, she had no money left. For twelve years she had been bleeding. She heard the King of Kings was walking past - Jesus of Nazareth. There was a crowd that just thronged Him. She said to herself: "If I can just touch the hem of his garment, I will be healed."She must have crept through the legs of the people. She got to the bottom of that crowd, she stretched out her hand and she touched the hem of His garment. And instantly, the Bible says she was healed. The flow of blood stopped. Jesus swung around and said: “Who touched me?”The disciples said, "Lord, people are pushing in from all sides", but you see Jesus knew that a woman of faith had touched Him. She put up her little hand and He said, "Woman, go in peace. Your faith has made you well."This morning maybe I am talking to somebody who the doctors say: “Well, there is no more we can do for you. Go home and make yourself comfortable." I want to say to you today: "Reach out to the Son of God, the Miracle-worker - reach out to Jesus and say: "Lord, please heal me!"Maybe it is a physical ailment, a mental ailment or maybe it is an emotional one - He is closer to you than you realise. In fact, He lives within you, He says: “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” Jeremiah 33:3Have a blessed Sunday as you look upon The Healer, not upon your situation. He will undertake for you as He has done for me, many, many times. God bless you and have a blessed Sunday.

The two of us were playing on what we all assumed was a disused railway track. Suddenly my mother shouted, ‘Jump! Get off the track!' She had seen an express train coming down the track. Thankfully, we didn't shout back, ‘Don't threaten us. You can't scare us.' If we had done that, I would not be in a position to write this now. We both jumped off the track. The command arose out of a mother's love for her children. God's commands arise out of his goodness and his love for you. They are given so that “it may go well with you” and “you may enjoy long life”.The warnings of Jesus about the coming judgment (Gospels, Rev) and how to be ready for it come out of his love for you. It's probably one of the most embarrassing, stupid, least-thought-out things I did as a kid.My parents went out for dinner and left my brother and I at home. We were boys so there was all the usual wrestling and goofing around but after an hour or so we got bored.I went to the fridge to see what was in there and saw a half-empty bottle of Mountain Dew. As only a 10-year-old whose brain hadn't caught up to his body could think of, I had an idea for a prank. What if I emptied the bottle and filled it back up with pee! (you can see why I stay up at night worrying about what my kids are going to do when they get older)I put the top back on the bottle and put it back in the fridge. I heard my parents come home and ran upstairs listening over the balcony and snickering to myself. I waited for a few minutes until I heard the refrigerator door open. The next thing I heard was my mom spitting and running to the bathroom to throw up. As with many of our pranks as kids, I hadn't completely thought this one through. To say that I was in trouble with my dad would be a bit of an understatement. When people hear that story they always ask me, What were you thinking? The simple answer? I wasn't.What was the worst thing you did to your parents as a kid?
Developing a Biblical View of the Spiritual World It is time for the church to prepare itself. To rise in maturity and to put to shame the counterfeit dominion of darkness masquerading as a kingdom of light.Familiar spiritual in 2 Kings 6;18-23 the Prophet Elisha and his servant are in the city of Dothan and the King of Aram send chariots, horses, and a substantial army to seize him.o Servant sees the army and comes running to Elisha fearful.o And Elisha said, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are greater than those who are with them v161 Then Elisha prayed and said, “Lord, please, open his eyes so that he may see. And the Lord opened the servant’s eyes….” 2 King 6:17o The Lord opens his eyes……. Tap the brakeso What if we prayed and the Lord opened our eyes.o What if the walls and ceil disappeared and we could see this entire invisible world surrounding us.o What would we see right now. Pp The supernatural world is another world.o It’s not an imaginary dimension.o 1 It’s not the invisible part of this natural world.Prayer/ Foundational2 By faith we understand that the world has been created by the word of God so that what is seen has not been made out of things that are visible. Hebrews 11:3 NAS 3 Faith empowers us to see that the universe was created and beautifully coordinated by the power of God’s words! He spoke and the invisible realm gave birth to all that is seen. TPT PpThe spiritual world existed before the natural world and is greater.o No one knows how big our universe is, in fact this handiwork of God, is mind- boggling. (Light year 5.88 trillion miles) Milky Way 105,700 light years)o Romans 1 says that by this physical universe, we should be able to discern God’s power and divine nature.o Truth bomb: We can’t. If the vast of this universe which by design is to humble us and puts us in a place of awe and worship. Reveals our classic disconnecto Why would we then take something from this and call it God and worship the created over the Creator. 1 It best to envision the natural world as superimposed upon the spiritual world, keeping in mind that the spiritual world preexists and supersedes the natural world. The spiritual world (angels and such) was a created dimension, But God transcend above because it came from Him. There are many things in the spiritual world – not elements of physical substance, but things of spiritual substance, invisible to us but, indeed real.o 1 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, Eph.1:3o Just as God created this world, mountains, trees, water and sky, the spiritual unseen has things of spiritual substance, a world of treasures and delights. Pp The spiritual realm is where God dwells.o 1God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth Jn 4:24Pp The spiritual realm is where angels exist.o We think of the Christmas angel that was on the tree. White with wings, a robe, blonde hair and beautiful …… Oh looks like me! I’m taking that world and making it in an image of me. "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." ~Psalm 46:1God is our deliverer. Sometimes He intervenes directly to deliver us, and sometimes, He delivers us through other people. Sometimes, he delivers us through professionals who are trained to help us. In this episode, we are extremely fortunate to have a very special guest, Paul Calcote. Paul is a husband, young adult pastor and podcaster who loves God, loves people, and loves life. Paul is passionate about encouraging and equipping people to be and do all that God has called them be and do. In this episode, Paul will share how God delivered him from the bounds of depression, and tell us how it is ok to seek help from others, including professionals.
Hope In God Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. Romans 15:13 At the time of this recording we are living in the age of uncertainty, anxiety, unemployment, financial crisis, all from something you cannot see. Don’t let the Corona get on ya. I stand to remind you of the power of hope. Hope in God. The invisible God, he was called Colossians 1:15 Hope is strength for the present Hope is the belief things will work, especially when it seems otherwise. It helps you stay calm and peaceful when something less than desirable emerges. Hope believes you will get through it. Hope remembers the times you made it through. Hope teams with faith and believes in the impossible. How do I know this. Because I have survived, I have lived, I can testify to the presence, goodness, mercy, grace, and love of God. I’m not just a hope dealer, I’m a client. Like that hair club commercial back in the 80s And I bet so can you relate. Psalm 42:5 King James Version (KJV) 5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance Do You Remember… 1God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. 2Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change And though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; Hope is centered in the person of Jesus Christ. Christ's life, message, atonement for the sins of the world and resurrection are now the basis of hope. Jesus Christ is the object of Hope, but also He is the one and only who enables us to truly have lasting hope. Hope comes to us by having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It comes from knowing God on a personal level. Old and New and the SameSermon 7: Genesis 9As we approach this last chapter about Noah, let's not forget that these are the words of his sons. Our perspective is not Noah's, but that of three young men (well, they were over 100 - not so young) that witness God's dealings with their father.Noah is polarizing. Unsaved people mock this story and dismiss it, Christians are split on this story and they sanitize it. But God includes three chapters about his dealings with this man - we get more details about Noah's life than we do about Adam's.Noah and his family disembark the ark and build an altar to worship God. One of the questions I often hear is what happened to the ark? It's a huge ocean liner that ended up on the top of a mountain range. Why can't we find its remnants? The answer to my thinking is simple: they stepped off the ark into a world of destruction, where building materials were scarce. I imagine the ark was repurposed. An Old Command 9:1God blesses Noah and his sons and repeats His command from chapter 2: be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth. Just as with Adam: go and fill the earth. And they did. We all are descendants from Noah. We descended from the man that survived the flood. It is a common record in every culture on earth. We are survivors of a cataclysmic flood that dramatically changed this earth. A New Change 9:2-7God changes man's relationship to the animals: he changes our diet and gives us BBQ. Humor aside, God clearly expands man's diet in verse 3.Sidenote: much of today's push toward vegetarianism and a vegan lifestyle is more about undoing God's decree than it is about the kind treatment of animals. This makes way for a very important stipulation God gives about man. He clarifies that man is not the same as animals and killing animals is not the same as killing a man. In poetic style the old command and the new change come together (verses 6-7): Man bears the image of God and they are to fill the earth.A New Covenant 9:8-17God makes an unconditional covenant with all of creation: you will never again have to fear judgment through a global flood: to destroy the earth. Can you imagine the fear that could have gripped their hearts the first time they heard thunder or the next time it rained? What if one of the brothers insulted the other and they felt raindrops on their head. Fear would have gripped them. God in His grace promises that they do not have to fear and he gives them a sign. At that moment, the brother can look up and see God's reminder. The rainbow is a wonderful sign that teaches us to remember, but that is not actually what God says in verse 14-15. God says the bow is there for Him to remember His promise. We tend to look at the bow and think that it is merely a bow, but the word used here is “war bow”, as in a bow and arrow… a hunter's weapon. The rainbow is God's reminder that hostility against man has ceased… He has hung it up. Spurgeon noted that God hung the bow pointed away from man and it's arrows now point to Himself. This could be a veiled reference to Christ's atoning work. What is most disconcerting, however, is that the LGBT community has taken this sign and repurposed it be their emblem. An Old Complication 9:18-29And then we read that something else stepped off the ark. Sin survived the flood also… it hitched a ride in their hearts (cf. 8:21). Noah plants a vineyard and gets drunk. Why? Well… why do you sin? It was a lapse in judgment, poor decision making, most likely a series of bad decisions. It is sad to read this, but the Bible presents us with the unvarnished truth. I am not going to comment too much this morning, because I will revisit this passage in four weeks - on Father's Day. Suffice it to say sin has not been eradicated. Despite God's sweeping judgment, man still sins. Man still rebels. Man does not obey. Man does not walk perfectly with God.There are parallels with Pentecost… an old command to love, a New Covenant in Christ's blood, a new sign in the coming of the Comforter, a new beginning in the Church, and the same problem: sin. But now it is different… Christ has come. God turned the bow of His wrath upon Himself and He took the punishment for our sin. We do not have to serve sin and we now have the indwelt Holy Spirit, who helps us walk with God. And He is the down payment for the glorious inheritance that awaits us. We still sin, but it's not the same… we look to the cross, knowing that the payment for our sin has been made. We look inward to the Holy Spirit, who compels us to walk worthy. And we look forward to the day of Christ's return.
God says His is doing a new thing in your Life! (Isaiah 43:19) - Something that has not occurred yet, some unheard of and wonderful event or blessing in your life, that shall far surpass all that He has formerly done, according to the working of his mighty power that is superabundant above, all that you can even ask or imagine. (Ephesians 3:20)God is always doing something new in your life. God has been moving time, space in advance and people position them for such a time as this showed he is in control of all the events Divine Providence And causing them to come to pass in his perfect timing, to provide the need and the help that is required. God's care of you demonstrates his great love for you in being your Helper, Protector and Provider. (Hebrews 13:6, Philippians 4:19)He Reminds you that just as the former things he foretold came to pass, that the New Thing He is doing for you will come to pass. The evidence is that God's word is not return to him void, but it accomplishes the things He says. (Isaiah 55:11) the certainty that you have an God keeping his promise is the evidence that what he has done in the past, he will do again. It is proof that he alone is God, and this is the basis on which he calls upon you to believe he is doing Something New, Just as He said that it also will come to pass. (Isaiah 42:9)Listen, God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. What God Has said, He will Do It! What He has spoken, He Will not make it good! (Numbers 23:19)What the LORD said to Moses, He says to you, “Has My Arm been shortened or Lost Its Power? Now you will see whether what I say will happen to you or not. (Numbers 11:23)Blessed be the Lord, Who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised. Not one word has failed of all His good promise which He promised through Moses His servant. (1 Kings 8:56)God's Hand is Not Shortened at ALL, that it cannot redeem your life and do a New Thing. I AM Omnipotent, ALL Powerful to deliver. Behold, at My rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a desert. (Isaiah 50:2) Most Assuredly, God is doing a New Thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? God has the Power to make a way in your wilderness and flowing rivers in the desert of your Life. (Isaiah 43:19) Remember God is always doing something new in your life.God has in advanced, pre-planned and specified new things for your life, giving you a future and a hope in Christ Jesus. (Jeremiah 29:11). New Things He has Kept Hidden in reserve for you which you have yet not known. (Isaiah 48:6) They are brand new, not things from the past. So you cannot say, ‘We knew that all the time!' “Yes, I tell you He has things that are entirely new, things you never heard of before. (Isaiah 48:7-8) Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I now declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them. (Isaiah 42:9 )Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a New Creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)As a born again believer you placed your faith in an all powerful, loving Savior Who has your very best in mind– ALWAYS. YOU HAVE PLACED YOUR FAITH IN HIM already to receive all the good God has for you. (1 Corinthians 2:12) walk in all the blessings God has promised you.One of those promises is God Is Doing Something New in Your Life. Your Life in Christ Is New Every Morning. It is because of the Lord's mercy and loving-kindness that we are not consumed, because His tender compassions fail not. [Mal. 3:6.] They are new every morning; great and abundant is His stability and faithfulness. (Isa. 33:2)Lamentations 3:22-23 God is Always Doing Something New in your Life. During this remarkable series Dr. Kurt Johnson and friends have brought together many diverse threads from eco-spirituality, subtle activism, evolution of consciousness, the future of world's religions and much more. In this final episode of the first series we take a look at how this “convergence” of ideas is set to play out in the next four years as we collectively ramp up to 2020. Series co-hosts, Ben Bowler from 1GOD.com and Doug King of Presence, join overall series hosts Kurt Johnson in a rich dialogue with Stephen Dinan, founder of The Shift network and author of Sacred America Sacred World. Together they explore the next steps in the process of the unfolding of events towards 2020 and beyond. They also take a moment to look back at the series and reflect on the journey and in particular how it relates to the overall vision of inter-spirituality as originally laid out by Brother Wayne Teasdale.
